2 С Иерусалимом говорите подоброму, возвестите, что окончилась его пора служения, он цену заплатил за все свои грехи. Я, Господь, за каждый грех воздал ему вдвойне».
3 Послушайте вопиющего в пустыне: «Готовьте путь для Господа, дорогу в пустыне сделайте прямой для Бога нашего.
4 Заполните долины, разровняйте холмы и горы, выпрямите всю кривизну дорог, чтоб мягким стало твёрдое.
5 И слава Господняя явится тогда, и все её увидят, потому что Сам Господь так сказал».
6 Голос сказал: «Возвещай!» И человек спросил: «О чём мне возвещать?» Ответил голос: «Все люди как трава, а слава их словно полевой цветок.
7 Дыхание Господнее сушит травы и заставляет цветок завянуть и опасть. Воистину, люди подобны траве!
8 Трава засохнет, и цветы завянут, но слово Бога нашего пребудет вовеки».
9 Сион, у тебя есть новость для всех, взойди на высокую гору и громко её прокричи. Иерусалим, хороша твоя весть; не бойся и громогласно всем городам поведай о ней: «Смотрите, вот Бог ваш!»
10 Господь, мой Создатель, идёт в Своей силе, которой Он управляет людьми. Он людям награду несёт, она — Его воздаяние людям.
11 Как стадо овец ведёт за собой пастух, так и Господь поведёт народ Свой, словно ягнят Он на руки возьмёт, а матери их будут рядом.
12 Кто пригоршнями океаны измерял? Кто ладонью измерил небо? Кто чашею всю пыль земную измерил? Кто взвесил на весах холмы и горы?
13 Кто в силах постичь Господний разум? Кто укажет Ему, что делать? Кто сможет преподать Ему урок иль дать Ему совет?
14 Просил ли помощи Господь, учил ли кто-нибудь Его добру и справедливости иль мудрости и знаниям? Нет, всё Господь знал Сам!
15 Взгляни, народы словно капли в ведре, и, если б взял Господь и на весы Свои поставил все народы, они б на тех весах пылинкой были.
16 Ливанских кедров всех не хватит, чтоб сжечь для Господа на алтаре, и всех животных не хватит, чтобы в жертву принести.
17 Ничто народы мира перед Ним, и ничего они не стоят перед Богом.
18 С чем Господа вы можете сравнить? Способны ли Его себе представить? Нет, и ещё раз нет!
19 Но есть такие, кто из дерева иль камня изображение делают и богом его зовут. Они наносят позолоту, серебряные вешают цепочки.
20 Они находят дерево, которое гниению не поддаётся, и искусный резчик устойчивого идола творит.
21 Вы правду знаете, не так ли? Вы слышали, конечно же, вам было сказано давно и стало вам понятно, кто Творец земли!
22 Господь есть Бог Единый, восседает Он над землёю, и люди подобны саранче пред Ним. Он небеса распахивает как одежду нежную, раскидывает их подобием шатра, где жить возможно.
23 Правителей в ничто Он превращает, судью любого делает никчёмным.
24 Они растениям подобны, которые в землю посажены, но только пустят корни, как дунет Бог, и высохнут они. Они умрут, и ветер словно солому их унесёт.
25 И спрашивает Святой: «С кем вы можете Меня сравнить? Мне ровни нет!
26 Взгляните на небо! Кто звёзды все создал? Кто Небесных армий Творец? Кто знает по имени звезду любую? Бог истинный могуч, и ни одна звезда не может потеряться».
27 Иаков, это истина! Израиль, ты должен верить этому. Почему считаешь, что Господь не может видеть, как ты живёшь, что не найдёт и не накажет Он тебя?
28 Конечно, знаешь ты, что мудр Господь, что знает Он, узнать не могут люди. Господь не устаёт и отдыха не знает, Он всё сотворил даже в самых далёких уголках земли. Господь — Бог, живущий вечно!
29 Господь уставшим возвращает силу, и люди только от Него крепки.
30 И могут даже юноши устать, и молодой споткнуться может,
31 но верящие в Бога вновь обретают силу как орлы, чьи перья снова отрастают. Такие люди бегут и не слабеют, идут и устали не знают.

28 Конечно, знаешь ты, что мудр Господь, что знает Он, узнать не могут люди. Господь не устаёт и отдыха не знает, Он всё сотворил даже в самых далёких уголках земли. Господь — Бог, живущий вечно!
