Глава 4

1 Когда весь народ переправился через Иордан, Господь сказал Иисусу:

2 — Выберите из народа двенадцать человек, по одному из каждого рода,

3 и велите им взять двенадцать камней из середины Иордана, оттуда, где стояли священники, и унести их с собой, и положить там, где вы остановитесь сегодня вечером на ночлег.

4 Иисус позвал двенадцать человек, которых он назначил из израильтян, по одному из каждого рода,

5 и сказал им: — Пройдите перед ковчегом Господа, вашего Бога, на середину Иордана. Пусть каждый из вас возьмет на плечи по одному камню, по числу родов израильтян.

6 Они будут служить вам памятным знаком. В будущем, когда ваши дети спросят вас: «Что значат эти камни?» —

7 скажите им, что воды реки иссякли перед ковчегом завета Господа, когда его переправляли через Иордан. Эти камни будут у народа Израиля памятным знаком навеки.

8 Израильтяне сделали так, как велел им Иисус. Они взяли из середины Иордана двенадцать камней, по числу родов израильтян, как сказал Иисусу Господь. Они перенесли их с собой в лагерь, где и положили их.

9 (Иисус поставил также двенадцать камней в середине Иордана, где стояли священники, которые несли ковчег завета. Эти камни там и до сих пор.)

10 А священники, которые несли ковчег, стояли в середине Иордана, пока не исполнилось все, что Господь повелел Иисусу сказать народу, — как Моисей велел Иисусу. Народ же поспешно переправлялся,

11 и как только все переправились, переправился и ковчег Господа и священники, идущие перед народом.

12 Вооруженные рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассии переправились перед израильтянами, как велел им раньше Моисей.

13 Около сорока тысяч вооруженных для битвы переправилось перед Господом в долину Иерихона, чтобы воевать.

14 В тот день Господь возвысил Иисуса в глазах всего Израиля, и они чтили его во все дни его жизни, как чтили Моисея.

15 И Господь сказал Иисусу:

16 — Вели священникам, которые несут ковчег свидетельства, выйти из Иордана.

17 Иисус велел священникам: — Выйдите из Иордана.

18 Когда священники, которые несли ковчег завета Господа, вышли из Иордана и стопы их коснулись суши, вода Иордана вернулась на свое место и потекла, затопляя берега, как прежде.

19 В десятый день первого месяца народ вышел из Иордана и разбил лагерь в Гилгале на восточной стороне Иерихона.

20 Иисус поставил в Гилгале двенадцать камней, которые они взяли из Иордана.

21 Он сказал израильтянам: — В будущем, когда ваши потомки станут спрашивать своих отцов: «Что означают эти камни?» —

22 скажите им: «Израиль посуху перешел Иордан».

23 Ведь Господь, ваш Бог, осушил перед вами Иордан, пока вы не переправились. Господь, ваш Бог, сделал с Иорданом то же, что Он сделал с Красным морем, когда Он осушил его перед нами, чтобы мы переправились.

24 Он сделал это, чтобы все народы земли узнали, что рука Господа сильна, и чтобы вы всегда боялись Господа, вашего Бога.

Joshua

Chapter 4

1 AND when all the people had finished passing over the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua,

2 Take twelve men from the people, a man out of every tribe,

3 And command them, saying, Take from here out of the midst of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood, twelve stones, and you shall carry them over with you, and lay them in the lodging place where you lodge this night.

4 Then Joshua called the twelve men who were selected from the children of Israel, out of each tribe a man;

5 And Joshua said to them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel;

6 That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask you in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of these stones?

7 Then you shall tell them, The waters of the Jordan were divided before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when we passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were divided; and these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel for ever.

8 And the children of Israel did as Joshua commanded them, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as the LORD had said to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

9 And they set up the twelve stones which they had taken out of the midst of the Jordan, where stood the feet of the priests who were bearing the ark of the covenant; and they are there to this day.

10 And the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to tell to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua; and the people made haste and passed over.

11 And when all the people had finished passing over, the ark of the LORD and the priests passed over before the people.

12 Then the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses had told them;

13 About forty thousand men armed for war passed over before the LORD to battle, to the plains of Jericho.

14 On that very day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.

15 And the LORD said to Joshua,

16 Command the priests who bear the ark of the testimony to come up out of the Jordan.

17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come up out of the Jordan.

18 And when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD had come up out of the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet rested firm on the dry land, the waters of the Jordan rushed to their place, and overflowed all its banks, as they did before.

19 And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, on the east border of Jericho.

20 And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan. Joshua set up at Gilgal.

21 And he said to the children of Israel, When your children shall ask you in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of these stones?

22 Then you shall explain them to your children, and say to them, The children of Israel crossed this Jordan on dry land.

23 For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before them, until they passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us until we passed over;

24 So that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, and that you may worship the LORD your God for ever.

1 Когда весь народ переправился через Иордан, Господь сказал Иисусу:

1 AND when all the people had finished passing over the Jordan, the LORD said to Joshua,

2 — Выберите из народа двенадцать человек, по одному из каждого рода,

2 Take twelve men from the people, a man out of every tribe,

3 и велите им взять двенадцать камней из середины Иордана, оттуда, где стояли священники, и унести их с собой, и положить там, где вы остановитесь сегодня вечером на ночлег.

3 And command them, saying, Take from here out of the midst of the Jordan, out of the place where the priests' feet stood, twelve stones, and you shall carry them over with you, and lay them in the lodging place where you lodge this night.

4 Иисус позвал двенадцать человек, которых он назначил из израильтян, по одному из каждого рода,

4 Then Joshua called the twelve men who were selected from the children of Israel, out of each tribe a man;

5 и сказал им: — Пройдите перед ковчегом Господа, вашего Бога, на середину Иордана. Пусть каждый из вас возьмет на плечи по одному камню, по числу родов израильтян.

5 And Joshua said to them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of the Jordan, and take up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel;

6 Они будут служить вам памятным знаком. В будущем, когда ваши дети спросят вас: «Что значат эти камни?» —

6 That this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask you in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of these stones?

7 скажите им, что воды реки иссякли перед ковчегом завета Господа, когда его переправляли через Иордан. Эти камни будут у народа Израиля памятным знаком навеки.

7 Then you shall tell them, The waters of the Jordan were divided before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when we passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were divided; and these stones shall be for a memorial to the children of Israel for ever.

8 Израильтяне сделали так, как велел им Иисус. Они взяли из середины Иордана двенадцать камней, по числу родов израильтян, как сказал Иисусу Господь. Они перенесли их с собой в лагерь, где и положили их.

8 And the children of Israel did as Joshua commanded them, and took up twelve stones out of the midst of the Jordan, as the LORD had said to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel, and carried them over with them to the place where they lodged, and laid them down there.

9 (Иисус поставил также двенадцать камней в середине Иордана, где стояли священники, которые несли ковчег завета. Эти камни там и до сих пор.)

9 And they set up the twelve stones which they had taken out of the midst of the Jordan, where stood the feet of the priests who were bearing the ark of the covenant; and they are there to this day.

10 А священники, которые несли ковчег, стояли в середине Иордана, пока не исполнилось все, что Господь повелел Иисусу сказать народу, — как Моисей велел Иисусу. Народ же поспешно переправлялся,

10 And the priests who bore the ark stood in the midst of the Jordan until everything was finished that the LORD commanded Joshua to tell to the people, according to all that Moses had commanded Joshua; and the people made haste and passed over.

11 и как только все переправились, переправился и ковчег Господа и священники, идущие перед народом.

11 And when all the people had finished passing over, the ark of the LORD and the priests passed over before the people.

12 Вооруженные рувимиты, гадиты и половина рода Манассии переправились перед израильтянами, как велел им раньше Моисей.

12 Then the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, passed over armed before the children of Israel, as Moses had told them;

13 Около сорока тысяч вооруженных для битвы переправилось перед Господом в долину Иерихона, чтобы воевать.

13 About forty thousand men armed for war passed over before the LORD to battle, to the plains of Jericho.

14 В тот день Господь возвысил Иисуса в глазах всего Израиля, и они чтили его во все дни его жизни, как чтили Моисея.

14 On that very day the LORD exalted Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they had feared Moses, all the days of his life.

15 И Господь сказал Иисусу:

15 And the LORD said to Joshua,

16 — Вели священникам, которые несут ковчег свидетельства, выйти из Иордана.

16 Command the priests who bear the ark of the testimony to come up out of the Jordan.

17 Иисус велел священникам: — Выйдите из Иордана.

17 Joshua therefore commanded the priests, saying, Come up out of the Jordan.

18 Когда священники, которые несли ковчег завета Господа, вышли из Иордана и стопы их коснулись суши, вода Иордана вернулась на свое место и потекла, затопляя берега, как прежде.

18 And when the priests who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD had come up out of the midst of the Jordan, and the soles of the priests' feet rested firm on the dry land, the waters of the Jordan rushed to their place, and overflowed all its banks, as they did before.

19 В десятый день первого месяца народ вышел из Иордана и разбил лагерь в Гилгале на восточной стороне Иерихона.

19 And the people came up out of the Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in Gilgal, on the east border of Jericho.

20 Иисус поставил в Гилгале двенадцать камней, которые они взяли из Иордана.

20 And those twelve stones which they took out of the Jordan. Joshua set up at Gilgal.

21 Он сказал израильтянам: — В будущем, когда ваши потомки станут спрашивать своих отцов: «Что означают эти камни?» —

21 And he said to the children of Israel, When your children shall ask you in time to come, saying, What is the meaning of these stones?

22 скажите им: «Израиль посуху перешел Иордан».

22 Then you shall explain them to your children, and say to them, The children of Israel crossed this Jordan on dry land.

23 Ведь Господь, ваш Бог, осушил перед вами Иордан, пока вы не переправились. Господь, ваш Бог, сделал с Иорданом то же, что Он сделал с Красным морем, когда Он осушил его перед нами, чтобы мы переправились.

23 For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before them, until they passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us until we passed over;

24 Он сделал это, чтобы все народы земли узнали, что рука Господа сильна, и чтобы вы всегда боялись Господа, вашего Бога.

24 So that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is mighty, and that you may worship the LORD your God for ever.
