Глава 17

1 И было ко мне слово Иеговы, и сказано:

2 Сын человеческий! загадай загадку, и составь притчу на дом Израилев.

3 И скажи: так говорит Господь Иегова: большой орел с большими крыльями, с длинными перьями, пушистый, весь пестрый, прилетел на Ливан, и сорвал с кедра маковку.

4 Верхушки нежных ветвей его ощипал, и понес их к земле купеческой, в городе торговцев положил ее.

5 И взял семени той земли, и посадил ее на засеваемом поле, взял к большим водам, посадил его на влажном месте.

6 И оно стало расти, и сделалось виноградною лозою, широкою, низкою ростом, которая должна была клонить ветви свои к нему, и корни ее были под ним же, и сделалась виноградною лозою, и она стала давать отрасли, и пускала ветви.

7 И был еще один орел с большими крыльями, и пушистый; и вот, виноградная лоза сия тянется к нему своими корнями жадно, и к нему простерла ветви свои, чтобы он поливал ее лучше других гряд в саду ее,

8 Она была посажена на хорошем поле, у больших вод, так что могла пускать ветви, и приносить плоды, сделаться лозою великолепною.

9 Скажи: так говорит Господь Иегова: удастся ли ей? Не вырвет ли тот орел корней ее, и не оборвет ли плодов ее, так что она засохнет, все молодые ветви, отросшие от нее, засохнут? И не с большею силою и не со многими людьми он может сорвать ее с корней ее.

10 И вот, она посажена; но будет ли благополучна? Не иссохнет ли она, как скоро коснется ее восточный ветер, - не иссохнет ли на грядах, где растет?

11 И было ко мне слово Иеговы, и сказано:

12 Скажи мятежному дому: разве не знаете, что это значит? - Скажи: вот пришел царь вавилонский в Иерусалим, и взял царя его, и князей его, и перевел их к себе в Вавилон.

13 И взял другого из царского рода, и заключил с ним союз, и обязал его клятвою, и взял сильных земли,

14 Чтобы царство было смирное, чтоб не могло подняться, чтобы храним был союз, и стоял твердо.

15 Но он отложился от него, послав послов своих в Египет, чтоб дали ему коней и большое войско. Удастся ли ему? Уцелеет ли тот, кто это делает? Он нарушил союз, и уцелеет?

16 Жив Я, говорит Господь Иегова, в месте пребывания царя, который поставил его царем, по которому данную клятву он пренебрег, и нарушил союз свой с ним, в Вавилоне умрет.

17 И с великою силою и с многочисленным войском Фараон ничего не сделает для него в этой войне, когда будет насыпан вал, и построена ограда осадная, на погибель душ многих.

18 И презрел он клятву, чтоб нарушить союз; и вот, он руку дал, и сделал все это; не уцелеет.

19 Посему так говорит Господь Иегова: жив Я! клятву Мою, которую он пренебрег, и союз Мой, который он нарушил, Я возложу на его голову.

20 И закину на него сеть Мою, и пойман будет в тенета Мои; и приведу его в Вавилон, и там буду судиться с ним за преступления его, которые он сделал против Меня.

21 А все разбежавшиеся от него, из всех полков его, от меча падут; а оставшиеся раскиданы будут по всем ветрам; и узнаете, что Я, Иегова, сказал.

22 Так говорит Господь Иегова: и возьму Я с вершины высокого кедра, и посажу, с верха ветвей его сощипну стебелек нежный, и посажу на высокой и величественной горе.

23 На высокой горе Израилевой посажу его, и пустит ветви, и принесет плод, и сделается величественным кедром, и будут жить под ним всякие птицы, всякие пернатые будут гнездиться в тени ветвей его.

24 И узнают все дерева поля, что Я, Иегова, высокое дерево делаю низким, низкое дерево делаю высоким; сочное дерево иссушаю, а сухому дереву даю разрастаться; Я, Иегова, сказал, и сделаю.

Chapter 17

1 AND the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2 Son of man, put forth a riddle and speak a parable to the house of Israel,

3 And say, Thus says the LORD God: A great eagle with large wings and long pinions and fully developed claws, and thickly feathered, came to Lebanon and took the choicest branch of the cedar:

4 He cropped off the topmost of its tender twigs, and carried it to the land of Canaan; and he set it in a city of merchants.

5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in uncultivated land; he placed it by many waters, and then set a watchman over it.

6 And it sprang up and grew into a spreading vine of low stature, so that its branches turned toward him and its roots were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches and shot forth tendrils.

7 And, behold, there was also another great eagle with large wings and many claws: and, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot forth its tendrils toward him, that he might water the soil where it was planted.

8 For it was planted in a good field, by many waters that it might bring forth branches and bear fruit and become a goodly vine.

9 Say now, Thus says the LORD God: It shall not prosper, but its roots shall be cut off, and its fruit shall dry up; and all the foliage which it has put forth shall wither; and it will not require a strong arm, nor many people to pluck it up by its roots.

10 Yea, behold, being planted, it shall not prosper; when the east wind strikes it, it shall wither in the soil where it grew.

11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

12 Say now to the rebellious house, Do you know what these things mean? Tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is coming to Jerusalem, and he shall take the king and the princes thereof and carry them with him to Babylon;

13 And he shall take one of the offspring of the royal family, and make a covenant with him and take an oath of him; and he shall carry away the rulers of the land, so that they may not boast again,

14 That the kingdom might be humbled, and that they might keep his covenant, and stand by him.

15 But he shall revolt against the king of Babylon, and shall send his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and a large army. But he who does such things shall not prosper, nor shall he be delivered.

16 As I live, says the LORD God, surely in the very place where dwells the king of Babylon, who made him king and he despised my oath and nullified my covenant, even in the midst of Babylon, he shall die.

17 Neither shall Pharaoh fight against him with a great army nor with many horses, but by casting up mounds and building forts shall he destroy many lives.

18 Because he has despised the oaths and nullified the covenant, he shall surrender, but he shall not be delivered, because he has done all these things.

19 Therefore thus says the LORD God: As I live, because he has despised my oaths and nullified my covenant, I will punish him for it.

20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in it, and I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, and judge him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.

21 And all his noble men and all his friends shall fall by the sword, and those that remain shall be scattered to all the winds; and you shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.

22 Thus says the LORD God: I will also take one of the choicest branches of the highest cedar, and I will clip it; I will crop off from the top of its young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon high and lofty mountains;

23 On the mountains of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar; and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of its branches shall they rest.

24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have made dry the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I the LORD have spoken and have done it.

3 And say, Thus says the LORD God: A great eagle with large wings and long pinions and fully developed claws, and thickly feathered, came to Lebanon and took the choicest branch of the cedar:

4 Верхушки нежных ветвей его ощипал, и понес их к земле купеческой, в городе торговцев положил ее.

4 He cropped off the topmost of its tender twigs, and carried it to the land of Canaan; and he set it in a city of merchants.

5 И взял семени той земли, и посадил ее на засеваемом поле, взял к большим водам, посадил его на влажном месте.

5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in uncultivated land; he placed it by many waters, and then set a watchman over it.

6 И оно стало расти, и сделалось виноградною лозою, широкою, низкою ростом, которая должна была клонить ветви свои к нему, и корни ее были под ним же, и сделалась виноградною лозою, и она стала давать отрасли, и пускала ветви.

6 And it sprang up and grew into a spreading vine of low stature, so that its branches turned toward him and its roots were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches and shot forth tendrils.

7 И был еще один орел с большими крыльями, и пушистый; и вот, виноградная лоза сия тянется к нему своими корнями жадно, и к нему простерла ветви свои, чтобы он поливал ее лучше других гряд в саду ее,

7 And, behold, there was also another great eagle with large wings and many claws: and, this vine bent its roots toward him, and shot forth its tendrils toward him, that he might water the soil where it was planted.

8 Она была посажена на хорошем поле, у больших вод, так что могла пускать ветви, и приносить плоды, сделаться лозою великолепною.

8 For it was planted in a good field, by many waters that it might bring forth branches and bear fruit and become a goodly vine.

9 Скажи: так говорит Господь Иегова: удастся ли ей? Не вырвет ли тот орел корней ее, и не оборвет ли плодов ее, так что она засохнет, все молодые ветви, отросшие от нее, засохнут? И не с большею силою и не со многими людьми он может сорвать ее с корней ее.

9 Say now, Thus says the LORD God: It shall not prosper, but its roots shall be cut off, and its fruit shall dry up; and all the foliage which it has put forth shall wither; and it will not require a strong arm, nor many people to pluck it up by its roots.

10 И вот, она посажена; но будет ли благополучна? Не иссохнет ли она, как скоро коснется ее восточный ветер, - не иссохнет ли на грядах, где растет?

10 Yea, behold, being planted, it shall not prosper; when the east wind strikes it, it shall wither in the soil where it grew.

11 И было ко мне слово Иеговы, и сказано:

11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

12 Скажи мятежному дому: разве не знаете, что это значит? - Скажи: вот пришел царь вавилонский в Иерусалим, и взял царя его, и князей его, и перевел их к себе в Вавилон.

12 Say now to the rebellious house, Do you know what these things mean? Tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is coming to Jerusalem, and he shall take the king and the princes thereof and carry them with him to Babylon;

13 И взял другого из царского рода, и заключил с ним союз, и обязал его клятвою, и взял сильных земли,

13 And he shall take one of the offspring of the royal family, and make a covenant with him and take an oath of him; and he shall carry away the rulers of the land, so that they may not boast again,

14 Чтобы царство было смирное, чтоб не могло подняться, чтобы храним был союз, и стоял твердо.

14 That the kingdom might be humbled, and that they might keep his covenant, and stand by him.

15 Но он отложился от него, послав послов своих в Египет, чтоб дали ему коней и большое войско. Удастся ли ему? Уцелеет ли тот, кто это делает? Он нарушил союз, и уцелеет?

15 But he shall revolt against the king of Babylon, and shall send his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and a large army. But he who does such things shall not prosper, nor shall he be delivered.

16 Жив Я, говорит Господь Иегова, в месте пребывания царя, который поставил его царем, по которому данную клятву он пренебрег, и нарушил союз свой с ним, в Вавилоне умрет.

16 As I live, says the LORD God, surely in the very place where dwells the king of Babylon, who made him king and he despised my oath and nullified my covenant, even in the midst of Babylon, he shall die.

17 И с великою силою и с многочисленным войском Фараон ничего не сделает для него в этой войне, когда будет насыпан вал, и построена ограда осадная, на погибель душ многих.

17 Neither shall Pharaoh fight against him with a great army nor with many horses, but by casting up mounds and building forts shall he destroy many lives.

18 И презрел он клятву, чтоб нарушить союз; и вот, он руку дал, и сделал все это; не уцелеет.

18 Because he has despised the oaths and nullified the covenant, he shall surrender, but he shall not be delivered, because he has done all these things.

19 Посему так говорит Господь Иегова: жив Я! клятву Мою, которую он пренебрег, и союз Мой, который он нарушил, Я возложу на его голову.

19 Therefore thus says the LORD God: As I live, because he has despised my oaths and nullified my covenant, I will punish him for it.

20 И закину на него сеть Мою, и пойман будет в тенета Мои; и приведу его в Вавилон, и там буду судиться с ним за преступления его, которые он сделал против Меня.

20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in it, and I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, and judge him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.

21 А все разбежавшиеся от него, из всех полков его, от меча падут; а оставшиеся раскиданы будут по всем ветрам; и узнаете, что Я, Иегова, сказал.

21 And all his noble men and all his friends shall fall by the sword, and those that remain shall be scattered to all the winds; and you shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.

22 Так говорит Господь Иегова: и возьму Я с вершины высокого кедра, и посажу, с верха ветвей его сощипну стебелек нежный, и посажу на высокой и величественной горе.

22 Thus says the LORD God: I will also take one of the choicest branches of the highest cedar, and I will clip it; I will crop off from the top of its young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon high and lofty mountains;

23 На высокой горе Израилевой посажу его, и пустит ветви, и принесет плод, и сделается величественным кедром, и будут жить под ним всякие птицы, всякие пернатые будут гнездиться в тени ветвей его.

23 On the mountains of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar; and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of its branches shall they rest.

24 И узнают все дерева поля, что Я, Иегова, высокое дерево делаю низким, низкое дерево делаю высоким; сочное дерево иссушаю, а сухому дереву даю разрастаться; Я, Иегова, сказал, и сделаю.

24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have made dry the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I the LORD have spoken and have done it.
