Chapter 19

1 IN the third month after the departure of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on the same day they came to the wilderness of Seen.

2 Then they journeyed from Rephidim and came to the wilderness of Sinai, and they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mountain.

3 And Moses went up to God, and God called to him out of the mountain and said to him, Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel,

4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you as though you were on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

5 Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed and keep my covenant, then you shall be my beloved ones above all peoples, for all the earth is mine;

6 And you shall be to me a kingdom and priests and an holy people. These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.

7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and said in their presence all these words which the LORD commanded him.

8 And all the people answered together and said, All that the LORD has spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people to the LORD.

9 And the LORD said to Moses, Lo, I am coming to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and also believe you for ever. And Moses told the words of the people before the LORD.

10 And the LORD said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes,

11 And be ready by the third day; for on the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

12 And you shall publish a warning among the people, saying, Take heed to yourselves, neither go up into the mountain, nor draw near to the border of it; whoever draws near to the mountain shall be put to death:

13 No hand shall touch it, but he shall surely be stoned and hurled down; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live; when the trumpet is silent, then you are permitted to ascend the mountain.

14 And Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.

15 And he said to the people, Be ready on the third day; do not touch your wives.

16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning that there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud appeared upon the mountain and the sound of the trumpet exceedingly loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled.

17 Then Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the base of the mountain.

18 And the whole mountain of Sinai was smoking because the LORD descended upon it in fire; and the smoke thereof ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.

19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.

20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, to the very top of the mountain: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mountain; and Moses went up.

21 And the LORD said to Moses, Go down, warn the people, test they break through to the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.

22 And let the priests also who come near to the LORD sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.

23 And Moses said to the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou didst warn us, saying, Set bounds about the mountain and sanctify it.

24 And the LORD said to him, Hasten, go down, and then come up, you, and Aaron your brother with you; but let not the priests and the people break through to come up before the LORD, test he kill them.

25 So Moses went down to the people and told them.

3 Моисей4872 взошел5927 к Богу430 на гору, и воззвал7121 к нему Господь3068 с горы,2022 говоря:559 так скажи559 дому1004 Иаковлеву3290 и возвести5046 сынам1121 Израилевым:3478

4 вы видели,7200 что Я сделал6213 Египтянам,4714 и как Я носил5375 вас как бы на орлиных5404 крыльях,3671 и принес935 вас к Себе;

5 итак, если вы будете8085 слушаться8085 гласа6963 Моего и соблюдать8104 завет1285 Мой, то будете Моим уделом5459 из всех народов,5971 ибо Моя вся земля,776

6 а вы будете у Меня царством4467 священников3548 и народом1471 святым;6918 вот слова,1697 которые ты скажешь1696 сынам1121 Израилевым.3478

7 И пришел935 Моисей4872 и созвал7121 старейшин2205 народа5971 и предложил7760 им все сии слова,1697 которые заповедал6680 ему Господь.3068

8 И весь народ5971 отвечал6030 единогласно,3162 говоря:559 все, что сказал1696 Господь,3068 исполним.6213 И донес7725 Моисей4872 слова1697 народа5971 Господу.3068

9 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 вот, Я приду935 к тебе в густом5645 облаке,6051 дабы слышал8085 народ,5971 как Я буду1696 говорить1696 с тобою, и поверил539 тебе навсегда.5769 И Моисей4872 объявил5046 слова1697 народа5971 Господу.3068

10 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 пойди3212 к народу,5971 и освяти6942 его сегодня3117 и завтра;4279 пусть вымоют3526 одежды8071 свои,

11 чтоб быть3559 готовыми3559 к третьему7992 дню:3117 ибо в третий7992 день3117 сойдет3381 Господь3068 пред глазами5869 всего народа5971 на гору2022 Синай;5514

12 и проведи1379 для народа5971 черту1379 со всех сторон5439 и скажи:559 берегитесь8104 восходить5927 на гору2022 и прикасаться5060 к подошве7097 ее; всякий, кто прикоснется5060 к горе,2022 предан4191 будет4191 смерти;4191

13 рука3027 да не прикоснется5060 к нему, а пусть побьют5619 его камнями,5619 или176 застрелят3384 стрелою;3384 скот929 ли то, или518 человек,376 да не останется2421 в живых;2421 во время протяжного4900 трубного3104 звука4900 могут они взойти5927 на гору.2022

14 И сошел3381 Моисей4872 с горы2022 к народу5971 и освятил6942 народ,5971 и они вымыли3526 одежду8071 свою.

15 И сказал559 народу:5971 будьте1961 готовы3559 к третьему7969 дню;3117 не прикасайтесь5066 к женам.802

16 На третий7992 день,3117 при наступлении утра,1242 были громы6963 и молнии,1300 и густое3515 облако6051 над горою,2022 и трубный7782 звук6963 весьма3966 сильный;2389 и вострепетал2729 весь народ,5971 бывший в стане.4264

17 И вывел3318 Моисей4872 народ5971 из стана4264 в сретение7125 Богу,430 и стали3320 у подошвы8482 горы.2022

18 Гора2022 же Синай5514 вся дымилась6225 от того, что834 Господь3068 сошел3381 на нее в огне;784 и восходил5927 от нее дым,6227 как дым6227 из печи,3536 и вся гора2022 сильно3966 колебалась;2729

19 и звук6963 трубный7782 становился1980 сильнее2390 и сильнее.3966 Моисей4872 говорил,1696 и Бог430 отвечал6030 ему голосом.6963

20 И сошел3381 Господь3068 на гору2022 Синай,5514 на вершину7218 горы,2022 и призвал7121 Господь3068 Моисея4872 на413 вершину7218 горы,2022 и взошел5927 Моисей.4872

21 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 сойди3381 и подтверди5749 народу,5971 чтобы он не порывался2040 к Господу3068 видеть7200 Его, и чтобы не пали5307 многие7227 из него;

22 священники3548 же, приближающиеся5066 к Господу,3068 должны освятить6942 себя, чтобы не поразил6555 их Господь.3068

23 И сказал559 Моисей4872 Господу:3068 не может3201 народ5971 взойти5927 на гору2022 Синай,5514 потому что Ты предостерег5749 нас, сказав:559 проведи1379 черту1379 вокруг горы2022 и освяти6942 ее.

24 И Господь3068 сказал559 ему: пойди,3212 сойди,3381 потом взойди5927 ты и с тобою Аарон;175 а священники3548 и народ5971 да не порываются2040 восходить5927 к Господу,3068 чтобы не поразил6555 их.

25 И сошел3381 Моисей4872 к народу5971 и пересказал559 ему.

3 And Moses went up to God, and God called to him out of the mountain and said to him, Thus shall you say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel,

4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you as though you were on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

6 а вы будете у Меня царством4467 священников3548 и народом1471 святым;6918 вот слова,1697 которые ты скажешь1696 сынам1121 Израилевым.3478

7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and said in their presence all these words which the LORD commanded him.

7 И пришел935 Моисей4872 и созвал7121 старейшин2205 народа5971 и предложил7760 им все сии слова,1697 которые заповедал6680 ему Господь.3068

8 And all the people answered together and said, All that the LORD has spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people to the LORD.

8 И весь народ5971 отвечал6030 единогласно,3162 говоря:559 все, что сказал1696 Господь,3068 исполним.6213 И донес7725 Моисей4872 слова1697 народа5971 Господу.3068

9 And the LORD said to Moses, Lo, I am coming to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you and also believe you for ever. And Moses told the words of the people before the LORD.

9 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 вот, Я приду935 к тебе в густом5645 облаке,6051 дабы слышал8085 народ,5971 как Я буду1696 говорить1696 с тобою, и поверил539 тебе навсегда.5769 И Моисей4872 объявил5046 слова1697 народа5971 Господу.3068

10 And the LORD said to Moses, Go to the people and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes,

10 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 пойди3212 к народу,5971 и освяти6942 его сегодня3117 и завтра;4279 пусть вымоют3526 одежды8071 свои,

11 And be ready by the third day; for on the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

11 чтоб быть3559 готовыми3559 к третьему7992 дню:3117 ибо в третий7992 день3117 сойдет3381 Господь3068 пред глазами5869 всего народа5971 на гору2022 Синай;5514

13 No hand shall touch it, but he shall surely be stoned and hurled down; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live; when the trumpet is silent, then you are permitted to ascend the mountain.

13 рука3027 да не прикоснется5060 к нему, а пусть побьют5619 его камнями,5619 или176 застрелят3384 стрелою;3384 скот929 ли то, или518 человек,376 да не останется2421 в живых;2421 во время протяжного4900 трубного3104 звука4900 могут они взойти5927 на гору.2022

14 And Moses went down from the mountain to the people and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.

14 И сошел3381 Моисей4872 с горы2022 к народу5971 и освятил6942 народ,5971 и они вымыли3526 одежду8071 свою.

15 And he said to the people, Be ready on the third day; do not touch your wives.

15 И сказал559 народу:5971 будьте1961 готовы3559 к третьему7969 дню;3117 не прикасайтесь5066 к женам.802

16 And it came to pass on the third day in the morning that there were thunders and lightnings and a thick cloud appeared upon the mountain and the sound of the trumpet exceedingly loud; so that all the people that were in the camp trembled.

20 And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, to the very top of the mountain: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mountain; and Moses went up.

21 And the LORD said to Moses, Go down, warn the people, test they break through to the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.

23 And Moses said to the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai; for thou didst warn us, saying, Set bounds about the mountain and sanctify it.

25 So Moses went down to the people and told them.
