Chapter 14

1 THEN the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Speak to the children of Israel that they turn back and encamp by the inlet of Kheritha, between Migdol and the sea, in front of Baal-zephon; opposite it shall you encamp by the sea.

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are strangers in the land, the wilderness has shut them in.

4 And the LORD said to Moses, I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them; and I will triumph over Pharaoh, and over all his army; and the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD. And they did so.

5 And it was told the king of Egypt that the people had gone away; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants changed against the people, and they said, What have we done that we have let Israel go from serving us?

6 And he made ready his chariots and took his people with him:

7 And he took six hundred chosen chariots and all chariots of the Egyptians and warriors over every one of them.

8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh, king of Egypt and he pursued the children of Israel; but the children of Israel had gone out victoriously.

9 And the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them encamping by the inlet of Kheritha, before Baal-zephon.

10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes and saw the Egyptians marching after them; and they were terribly afraid; and the children of Israel prayed before the LORD.

11 And they said to Moses, Is it because there were no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you dealt thus with us, and brought us out of Egypt?

12 Is not this the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in this wilderness.

13 And Moses said to the people. Fear not, wait, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will perform for you today; for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall see them again no more for ever.

14 The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

15 And the LORD said to Moses. Why do you pray before me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward;

16 And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the sea.

17 And, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, so that they shall follow them; and I will triumph over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have been triumphant over Pharaoh, over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.

19 And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of he cloud moved from before them and stood behind them:

20 And it came between the army of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was cloudy and dark all the night, but it gave light all the night to the children of Israel, so that they could not draw near one to another all the night.

21 And Moses lifted up his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground; and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

23 And the Egyptians pursued and went into the sea after them, all of Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

24 And it came to pass that in the morning watch the LORD appeared to the Egyptians army in a pillar of fire and of cloud, and threw the Egyptian army into confusion,

25 Thus clogging their chariot wheels that they drew heavily, so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from before the house of Israel; for the LORD fights for them against Egypt.

26 And the LORD said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses lifted up his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its place when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28 And the waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not a single one of them.

29 But the children of Israel walked through the sea as if they were walking on the dry land; and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

30 Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead upon the seashore.

31 And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did against the Egyptians; and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD and his servant Moses.

3 И скажет559 фараон6547 о сынах1121 Израилевых:3478 они заблудились943 в земле776 сей, заперла5462 их пустыня.4057

4 А Я ожесточу2388 сердце3820 фараона,6547 и он погонится7291 за310 ними, и покажу3513 славу3513 Мою на фараоне6547 и на всем войске2428 его; и познают3045 Египтяне,4714 что Я Господь.3068 И сделали6213 так.

5 И возвещено5046 было5046 царю4428 Египетскому,4714 что народ5971 бежал;1272 и обратилось2015 сердце3824 фараона6547 и рабов5650 его против народа5971 сего, и они сказали:559 что это мы сделали?6213 зачем отпустили7971 Израильтян,3478 чтобы они не работали5647 нам?

6 Фараон запряг631 колесницу7393 свою и народ5971 свой взял3947 с собою;

7 и взял3947 шестьсот83373967 колесниц7393 отборных977 и все колесницы7393 Египетские,4714 и начальников7991 над всеми ими.

8 И ожесточил2388 Господь3068 сердце3820 фараона,6547 царя4428 Египетского,4714 и он погнался7291 за310 сынами1121 Израилевыми;3478 сыны1121 же Израилевы3478 шли3318 под рукою3027 высокою.7311

9 И погнались7291 за310 ними Египтяне,4714 и все кони5483 с колесницами7393 фараона,6547 и всадники,6571 и все войско2428 его, и настигли5381 их расположившихся2583 у моря,3220 при Пи-Гахирофе6367 пред3942 Ваал-Цефоном.1189

10 Фараон6547 приблизился,7126 и сыны1121 Израилевы3478 оглянулись,53755869 и вот, Египтяне4714 идут5265 за310 ними: и весьма3966 устрашились3372 и возопили6817 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 к Господу,3068

11 и сказали559 Моисею:4872 разве нет гробов6913 в Египте,4714 что ты привел3947 нас умирать4191 в пустыне?4057 что2063 это ты сделал6213 с нами, выведя3318 нас из Египта?4714

15 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 что ты вопиешь6817 ко Мне? скажи1696 сынам1121 Израилевым,3478 чтоб они шли,5265

16 а ты подними7311 жезл4294 твой и простри5186 руку3027 твою на море,3220 и раздели1234 его, и пройдут935 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 среди8432 моря3220 по суше;3004

17 Я же ожесточу2388 сердце3820 Египтян,4714 и они пойдут935 вслед за310 ними; и покажу3513 славу3513 Мою на фараоне6547 и на всем войске2428 его, на колесницах7393 его и на всадниках6571 его;

18 и узнают3045 Египтяне,4714 что Я Господь,3068 когда покажу3513 славу3513 Мою на фараоне,6547 на колесницах7393 его и на всадниках6571 его.

19 И двинулся1980 Ангел4397 Божий,430 шедший пред3942 станом42641121 Израильтян,3478 и пошел3212 позади310 их; двинулся5265 и столп5982 облачный6051 от лица6440 их и стал5975 позади310 их;

20 и вошел935 в средину между станом4264 Египетским4714 и между станом42641121 Израильтян,3478 и был облаком6051 и мраком2822 для одних и освещал215 ночь3915 для других, и не сблизились7126 одни с другими2088 во всю ночь.3915

21 И простер5186 Моисей4872 руку3027 свою на море,3220 и гнал3212 Господь3068 море3220 сильным5794 восточным6921 ветром7307 всю ночь3915 и сделал7760 море3220 сушею,2724 и расступились1234 воды.4325

22 И пошли935 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 среди8432 моря3220 по суше:3004 воды4325 же были им стеною2346 по правую3225 и по левую8040 сторону.8040

23 Погнались7291 Египтяне,4714 и вошли935 за310 ними в средину8432 моря3220 все кони5483 фараона,6547 колесницы7393 его и всадники6571 его.

24 И в утреннюю1242 стражу821 воззрел8259 Господь3068 на стан4264 Египтян4714 из столпа5982 огненного784 и облачного6051 и привел2000 в замешательство2000 стан4264 Египтян;4714

25 и отнял5493 колеса212 у колесниц4818 их, так что они влекли5090 их с трудом.3517 И сказали559 Египтяне:4714 побежим5127 от Израильтян,3478 потому что Господь3068 поборает3898 за них против Египтян.4714

26 И сказал559 Господь3068 Моисею:4872 простри5186 руку3027 твою на море,3220 и да обратятся7725 воды4325 на Египтян,4714 на колесницы7393 их и на всадников6571 их.

27 И простер5186 Моисей4872 руку3027 свою на море,3220 и к утру1242 вода3220 возвратилась77256437 в свое место;386 а Египтяне4714 бежали5127 на встречу7125 воде. Так потопил5287 Господь3068 Египтян4714 среди8432 моря.3220

28 И вода4325 возвратилась7725 и покрыла3680 колесницы7393 и всадников6571 всего войска2428 фараонова,6547 вошедших935 за310 ними в море;3220 не осталось7604 ни5704 одного259 из них.

29 А сыны1121 Израилевы3478 прошли1980 по суше3004 среди8432 моря:3220 воды4325 были им стеною2346 по правую3225 и по левую8040 сторону.8040

30 И избавил3467 Господь3068 в день3117 тот Израильтян3478 из рук3027 Египтян,4714 и увидели7200 Израильтяне3478 Египтян4714 мертвыми4191 на берегу8193 моря.3220

3 For Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, They are strangers in the land, the wilderness has shut them in.

6 And he made ready his chariots and took his people with him:

6 Фараон запряг631 колесницу7393 свою и народ5971 свой взял3947 с собою;

9 And the Egyptians pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them encamping by the inlet of Kheritha, before Baal-zephon.

10 And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes and saw the Egyptians marching after them; and they were terribly afraid; and the children of Israel prayed before the LORD.

10 Фараон6547 приблизился,7126 и сыны1121 Израилевы3478 оглянулись,53755869 и вот, Египтяне4714 идут5265 за310 ними: и весьма3966 устрашились3372 и возопили6817 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 к Господу,3068

14 The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.

15 And the LORD said to Moses. Why do you pray before me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward;

16 And as for you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the sea.

16 а ты подними7311 жезл4294 твой и простри5186 руку3027 твою на море,3220 и раздели1234 его, и пройдут935 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 среди8432 моря3220 по суше;3004

17 And, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, so that they shall follow them; and I will triumph over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.

17 Я же ожесточу2388 сердце3820 Египтян,4714 и они пойдут935 вслед за310 ними; и покажу3513 славу3513 Мою на фараоне6547 и на всем войске2428 его, на колесницах7393 его и на всадниках6571 его;

18 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have been triumphant over Pharaoh, over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.

18 и узнают3045 Египтяне,4714 что Я Господь,3068 когда покажу3513 славу3513 Мою на фараоне,6547 на колесницах7393 его и на всадниках6571 его.

19 And the angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of he cloud moved from before them and stood behind them:

19 И двинулся1980 Ангел4397 Божий,430 шедший пред3942 станом42641121 Израильтян,3478 и пошел3212 позади310 их; двинулся5265 и столп5982 облачный6051 от лица6440 их и стал5975 позади310 их;

20 And it came between the army of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was cloudy and dark all the night, but it gave light all the night to the children of Israel, so that they could not draw near one to another all the night.

20 и вошел935 в средину между станом4264 Египетским4714 и между станом42641121 Израильтян,3478 и был облаком6051 и мраком2822 для одних и освещал215 ночь3915 для других, и не сблизились7126 одни с другими2088 во всю ночь.3915

21 And Moses lifted up his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.

21 И простер5186 Моисей4872 руку3027 свою на море,3220 и гнал3212 Господь3068 море3220 сильным5794 восточным6921 ветром7307 всю ночь3915 и сделал7760 море3220 сушею,2724 и расступились1234 воды.4325

22 And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground; and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

22 И пошли935 сыны1121 Израилевы3478 среди8432 моря3220 по суше:3004 воды4325 же были им стеною2346 по правую3225 и по левую8040 сторону.8040

23 And the Egyptians pursued and went into the sea after them, all of Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

23 Погнались7291 Египтяне,4714 и вошли935 за310 ними в средину8432 моря3220 все кони5483 фараона,6547 колесницы7393 его и всадники6571 его.

24 And it came to pass that in the morning watch the LORD appeared to the Egyptians army in a pillar of fire and of cloud, and threw the Egyptian army into confusion,

25 Thus clogging their chariot wheels that they drew heavily, so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from before the house of Israel; for the LORD fights for them against Egypt.

25 и отнял5493 колеса212 у колесниц4818 их, так что они влекли5090 их с трудом.3517 И сказали559 Египтяне:4714 побежим5127 от Израильтян,3478 потому что Господь3068 поборает3898 за них против Египтян.4714

26 And the LORD said to Moses, Stretch out your hand over the sea that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots and upon their horsemen.

27 And Moses lifted up his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its place when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

27 И простер5186 Моисей4872 руку3027 свою на море,3220 и к утру1242 вода3220 возвратилась77256437 в свое место;386 а Египтяне4714 бежали5127 на встречу7125 воде. Так потопил5287 Господь3068 Египтян4714 среди8432 моря.3220

31 And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did against the Egyptians; and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD and his servant Moses.
