Chapter 33

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, Depart, and go up hence, you and the people whom you have brought up out of the land of Egypt, to the land which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, To your descendants will I give it;

2 And I will send an angel before you; and he will destroy the Canaanites, the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites;

3 Go to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up among you; for you are a stiff-necked people; lest I consume you on the way.

4 And when the people heard this bad news, they mourned; and no man did put on him his armor.

5 Then the LORD said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, You are a stiff-necked people; I will come up among you in a moment, and consume you; therefore now put off your armor from you, that I may know what to do to you.

6 And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their armor by mount Horeb.

7 And Moses took his tent and pitched it outside the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass that every one who sought to inquire of the LORD went out to the tabernacle of the congregation, which was outside the camp.

8 And it came to pass when Moses went out to the tabernacle that all the people rose up and stood every man at his tent door and looked after Moses until he entered the tabernacle.

9 And it came to pass as Moses entered into the tabernacle the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle and the LORD talked with Moses.

10 And all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the door of the tabernacle; and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.

11 And the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he returned to the camp; but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not from the tabernacle.

12 And Moses said to the LORD, See, thou sayest to me, Bring up this people; and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know you by name, and thou hast also found favor in my sight.

13 Now therefore, if I have found favor in thy sight, show me now the way that I may know thee, that I may find favor in thy sight; and consider that this thy people is a great nation.

14 And the LORD said to Moses, Go ahead of me, and I will give you rest.

15 And he said to him, If thou thyself will not go with us, let us not leave this place.

16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found mercy in thy sight? Is it not in that thou goest with us? So that we be distinguished, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

17 And the LORD said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by your name.

18 And Moses said, Show me thy glory.

19 And he said. I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

20 And he said, You cannot see my face; for no man can see me and live.

21 And the LORD said to Moses, Behold, there is a place in front of me, and you shall stand upon the rock;

22 And it shall come to pass when my glory passes by that I will put you in a cave of the rock and will rest my hand upon you till I pass by;

23 And I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back; but my face shall not be seen.

1 Потом Иегова сказал Моисею: поди, иди отсюда ты и народ, который ты вывел из земли Египетской, в землю, о которой Я клялся Аврааму, Исааку и Иакову, говоря: потомству твоему дам ее.

2 И пошлю пред тобою Ангела, и прогоню Хананеев, Аморреев, и Хеттеев, и Ферезеев, и Евеев, и Иевусеев.

3 В землю, где течет молоко и мед, но Сам не пойду среди вас, чтобы не погубить Мне вас на пути, потому что вы народ жестоковыйный.

4 Народ, услышав грозное слово сие, возрыдал, и никто не возлагал на себя украшений своих.

5 Ибо Иегова сказал Моисею: скажи сынам Израилевым: вы народ жестоковыйный; если Я пойду среди вас, то в одну минуту истреблю вас. И ныне сними с себя украшения свои, и Я увижу, что Мне делать с вами.

6 Сыны Израилевы сняли с себя украшения свои у горы Хорива.

7 Моисей же взял шатер и поставил себе вне стана, вдали от стана, и назвал его скиниею собрания; и тогда каждый, ищущий Иегову, приходил в скинию собрания, находившуюся вне стана.

8 Тогда, как Моисей пошел в скинию, весь народ встал, и каждый у входа в свой шатер стоял и смотрел вслед Моисею, пока он не вошел в скинию.

9 Когда же Моисей вошел в скинию, тогда столп облачный сошел и стал у входа в скинию, и Иегова говорил с Моисеем.

10 Весь народ видел столп облачный, стоявший у дверей скинии; и встал весь народ, и поклонился каждый у входа в шатер свой.

11 Иегова говорил с Моисеем лицем к лицу, как бы говорил кто с другом своим; и он возвратился в стан; а служитель его Иисус, сын Навин, юноша, не выходил из скинии.

12 Моисей сказал Иегове: вот, Ты говоришь мне: веди народ сей; а не дал мне знать, кого пошлешь со мною. Но Ты сказал: Я знаю тебя по имени, и ты обрел благоволение в очах Моих.

13 Итак, если я обрел благоволение в очах Твоих, то молю: открой мне путь Твой, дабы я познал Тебя, да обрету благоволение в очах твоих; помысли также, что сии люди Твой народ.

14 И было сказано: лице Мое пойдет, и введу тебя в покой.

15 Он отвечал Ему: если лице Твое не пойдет, то и не выводи нас отсюда.

16 Ибо почему узнать, что я обрел ли благоволение в очах Твоих, я и народ Твой? Не потому ли, когда Ты пойдешь с нами? Тогда мы будем, я и народ Твой, славнее всякого народа на земле.

17 И сказал Иегова Моисею: и то, о чем ты говорил, Я сделаю; потому что ты обрел благоволение в очах Моих, и Я знаю тебя по имени.

18 Моисей сказал: покажи мне славу Твою.

19 И было сказано: Я проведу пред тобою все благие свойства Мои, и провозглашу имя Иеговы пред тобою; и, кого помиловать, помилую, кого пожалеть, пожалею.

20 Но, сказал он, лица Моего не можно тебе увидеть; потому что человек не может увидеть Меня, и остаться в живых.

21 И сказал Иегова: вот место у Меня: стань на сей скале.

22 Когда же будет проходить слава Моя, Я поставлю тебя в расселине сей скалы, и покрою тебя рукою Моею, доколе не пройду.

23 Потом сниму руку Мою, и ты увидишь меня сзади, а лице Мое не будет видимо.

1 Потом Иегова сказал Моисею: поди, иди отсюда ты и народ, который ты вывел из земли Египетской, в землю, о которой Я клялся Аврааму, Исааку и Иакову, говоря: потомству твоему дам ее.

3 В землю, где течет молоко и мед, но Сам не пойду среди вас, чтобы не погубить Мне вас на пути, потому что вы народ жестоковыйный.

4 And when the people heard this bad news, they mourned; and no man did put on him his armor.

4 Народ, услышав грозное слово сие, возрыдал, и никто не возлагал на себя украшений своих.

5 Then the LORD said to Moses, Say to the children of Israel, You are a stiff-necked people; I will come up among you in a moment, and consume you; therefore now put off your armor from you, that I may know what to do to you.

5 Ибо Иегова сказал Моисею: скажи сынам Израилевым: вы народ жестоковыйный; если Я пойду среди вас, то в одну минуту истреблю вас. И ныне сними с себя украшения свои, и Я увижу, что Мне делать с вами.

6 Сыны Израилевы сняли с себя украшения свои у горы Хорива.

7 Моисей же взял шатер и поставил себе вне стана, вдали от стана, и назвал его скиниею собрания; и тогда каждый, ищущий Иегову, приходил в скинию собрания, находившуюся вне стана.

8 And it came to pass when Moses went out to the tabernacle that all the people rose up and stood every man at his tent door and looked after Moses until he entered the tabernacle.

8 Тогда, как Моисей пошел в скинию, весь народ встал, и каждый у входа в свой шатер стоял и смотрел вслед Моисею, пока он не вошел в скинию.

9 And it came to pass as Moses entered into the tabernacle the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle and the LORD talked with Moses.

9 Когда же Моисей вошел в скинию, тогда столп облачный сошел и стал у входа в скинию, и Иегова говорил с Моисеем.

10 Весь народ видел столп облачный, стоявший у дверей скинии; и встал весь народ, и поклонился каждый у входа в шатер свой.

11 Иегова говорил с Моисеем лицем к лицу, как бы говорил кто с другом своим; и он возвратился в стан; а служитель его Иисус, сын Навин, юноша, не выходил из скинии.

12 And Moses said to the LORD, See, thou sayest to me, Bring up this people; and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know you by name, and thou hast also found favor in my sight.

12 Моисей сказал Иегове: вот, Ты говоришь мне: веди народ сей; а не дал мне знать, кого пошлешь со мною. Но Ты сказал: Я знаю тебя по имени, и ты обрел благоволение в очах Моих.

13 Now therefore, if I have found favor in thy sight, show me now the way that I may know thee, that I may find favor in thy sight; and consider that this thy people is a great nation.

13 Итак, если я обрел благоволение в очах Твоих, то молю: открой мне путь Твой, дабы я познал Тебя, да обрету благоволение в очах твоих; помысли также, что сии люди Твой народ.

14 And the LORD said to Moses, Go ahead of me, and I will give you rest.

14 И было сказано: лице Мое пойдет, и введу тебя в покой.

15 And he said to him, If thou thyself will not go with us, let us not leave this place.

15 Он отвечал Ему: если лице Твое не пойдет, то и не выводи нас отсюда.

16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found mercy in thy sight? Is it not in that thou goest with us? So that we be distinguished, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

16 Ибо почему узнать, что я обрел ли благоволение в очах Твоих, я и народ Твой? Не потому ли, когда Ты пойдешь с нами? Тогда мы будем, я и народ Твой, славнее всякого народа на земле.

17 And the LORD said to Moses, I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found grace in my sight, and I know you by your name.

17 И сказал Иегова Моисею: и то, о чем ты говорил, Я сделаю; потому что ты обрел благоволение в очах Моих, и Я знаю тебя по имени.

18 And Moses said, Show me thy glory.

18 Моисей сказал: покажи мне славу Твою.

19 And he said. I will make all my goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.

19 И было сказано: Я проведу пред тобою все благие свойства Мои, и провозглашу имя Иеговы пред тобою; и, кого помиловать, помилую, кого пожалеть, пожалею.

20 And he said, You cannot see my face; for no man can see me and live.

20 Но, сказал он, лица Моего не можно тебе увидеть; потому что человек не может увидеть Меня, и остаться в живых.

21 And the LORD said to Moses, Behold, there is a place in front of me, and you shall stand upon the rock;

21 И сказал Иегова: вот место у Меня: стань на сей скале.

22 And it shall come to pass when my glory passes by that I will put you in a cave of the rock and will rest my hand upon you till I pass by;

22 Когда же будет проходить слава Моя, Я поставлю тебя в расселине сей скалы, и покрою тебя рукою Моею, доколе не пройду.
