4 They deck3302 it with silver3701 and with gold;2091 they fasten2388 it with nails4548 and with hammers,4717 that it move6328 not.3808
5 They1992are upright4749 as the palm tree,8560 but speak1696 not:3808 they must needs be borne,53755375 because3588 they cannot3808 go.6805 Be not408 afraid3372 of4480 them; for3588 they cannot3808 do evil,7489 neither369 also1571is it in854 them to do good.3190

9 Silver3701 spread into plates7554 is brought935 from Tarshish,44808659 and gold2091 from Uphaz,4480210 the work4639 of the workman,2796 and of the hands3027 of the founder:6884 blue8504 and purple713is their clothing:3830 they are all3605 the work4639 of cunning2450men.
10 But the LORD3068is the true571 God,430 he1931is the living2416 God,430 and an everlasting5769 king:4428 at his wrath44807110 the earth776 shall tremble,7493 and the nations1471 shall not3808 be able to abide3557 his indignation.2195
11 Thus1836 shall ye say560 unto them, The gods426 that1768 have not3809 made5648 the heavens8065 and the earth,778even they shall perish7 from the earth,4481772 and from4481 under8460 these429 heavens.8065
12 He hath made6213 the earth776 by his power,3581 he hath established3559 the world8398 by his wisdom,2451 and hath stretched out5186 the heavens8064 by his discretion.8394

15 They1992are vanity,1892and the work4639 of errors:8595 in the time6256 of their visitation6486 they shall perish.6
16 The portion2506 of Jacob3290is not3808 like them:428 for3588 he1931is the former3335 of all3605things; and Israel3478is the rod7626 of his inheritance:5159 The LORD3068 of hosts6635is his name.8034
17 Gather up622 thy wares3666 out of the land,4480776 O inhabitant3427 of the fortress.4693
18 For3588 thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 Behold,2009 I will sling out7049853 the inhabitants3427 of the land776 at this2063 once,6471 and will distress6887 them, that4616 they may find4672it so.
19 Woe188 is me for5921 my hurt!7667 my wound4347 is grievous:2470 but I589 said,559 Truly389 this2088is a grief,2483 and I must bear5375 it.

21 For3588 the pastors7462 are become brutish,1197 and have not3808 sought1875 the LORD:3068 therefore59213651 they shall not3808 prosper,7919 and all3605 their flocks4830 shall be scattered.6327
22 Behold,2009 the noise6963 of the bruit8052 is come,935 and a great1419 commotion7494 out of the north country,44807766828 to make7760853 the cities5892 of Judah3063 desolate,8077and a den4583 of dragons.8577
23 O LORD,3068 I know3045 that3588 the way1870 of man120is not3808 in himself: it is not3808 in man376 that walketh1980 to direct3559853 his steps.6806
24 O LORD,3068 correct3256 me, but with389 judgment;4941 not408 in thine anger,639 lest6435 thou bring me to nothing.4591
25 Pour out8210 thy fury2534 upon5921 the heathen1471 that834 know3045 thee not,3808 and upon5921 the families4940 that834 call7121 not3808 on thy name:8034 for3588 they have eaten up398853 Jacob,3290 and devoured398 him, and consumed3615 him, and have made his habitation5116 desolate.8074

1 Семья Израиля, слушай Господа.
2 Вот что говорит Господь: «Не живите подобно другим народам, не бойтесь знамений небесных, как другие их боятся, не пугайтесь их.
3 Обычаи тех людей ничего не стоят, их идолы не что иное, как дерево из леса, их плотник вырезал долотом.
4 Их украшают серебром и золотом, и с помощью гвоздей и молотка их укрепляют, чтобы они не упали.
5 Они как пугала на огуречном поле не могут говорить; их носят, ведь они ходить не могут сами. Не бойтесь их, потому что они не смогут вред вам причинить, но и помочь вам не сумеют».
6 Господи, нет равного Тебе, Ты велик, и имя Твоё велико и могущественно!
7 Всякий должен чтить Тебя, Господи, Ты — Царь народов, Ты их почтение заслужил. Немало мудрецов среди людей, но в мудрости Тебе подобных нет.
8 Они глупы, ведь мудрость их идёт от деревянных идолов ничтожных!
9 Они привезли серебро из Фарсиса и золото из Уфаза и украшают статуи. Тех идолов сделали плотник и кузнец. В пурпурные и синие одежды они их облачили, но эти боги — дело рук искусных мастеров.
10 Господь — единственный истинный Бог. Он Бог живой и Царь, Который правит вечно. Дрожит земля, когда Господь в гневе, и ни один народ его унять не может.
11 Господь сказал: «Весть людям передай: те идолы не сотворили небеса и землю, они все будут уничтожены и навсегда с лица земли исчезнут».
12 Господь — единственный, Кто Своим могуществом землю сотворил. Он мудростью Своею мир построил и разумом Своим раскинул над землёю небеса.
13 Господь посылает гром и дожди, по Своей воле с небес обрушивает Он потоки вод. Он заставляет облака подниматься над землёю, выводит молнии и ветер из Своих хранилищ.
14 Глуп человек! И истукан, им созданный, кузнеца позорит. В нём всё лишь ложь, в нём нет души, он мёртв.
15 Они не стоят ничего, они для смеха повод, и после Суда их ждёт уничтожение.
16 Но Бог Иакова совсем иной: всё сотворил Он, и Израиль есть та семья, которую Он выбрал, чтобы Своим народом сделать. Имя Бога — Господь Всемогущий!
17 Собери всё, что есть у тебя, и готовься уйти из этой земли. Ты, народ Иудеи, пойман в городе, окружённом врагом.
18 Господь говорит: «Иудеев из этой страны Я изгоню. Я принесу им боль, несчастья, беды, и они получат свой урок».
19 «Как больно мне, — сказал Иеремия, — от этой раны я не излечусь. Я говорю себе: „Если эта болезнь дана мне, я должен выстрадать её”.
20 Пуст мой шатёр, разорваны верёвки, дети от меня ушли, и их уж нет, никто мне не поможет мой шатёр поставить, никто не поможет его починить.
21 Все пастыри глупы, они и не пытались Господа найти. Поэтому удачи нет у них, потеряно всё стадо.
22 Слышите, с севера приближается шум, он принесёт погибель Иудее. Она пустыней скоро станет и приютом шакальим стаям.
23 Я знаю, Господи, что человек невластен над жизнью собственной и люди не знают правильных путей.
24 Исправь нас, Господи, но справедливым будь, не накажи в гневе, не дай нам умереть.
25 А если Ты в гневе, то накажи другие народы, которые Тебя ещё не знают. Они не поклоняются Тебе, они уничтожили семью Иакова, дотла разрушили Израиль и опустошили родину его».

6 Господи, нет равного Тебе, Ты велик, и имя Твоё велико и могущественно!

7 Всякий должен чтить Тебя, Господи, Ты — Царь народов, Ты их почтение заслужил. Немало мудрецов среди людей, но в мудрости Тебе подобных нет.

10 Господь — единственный истинный Бог. Он Бог живой и Царь, Который правит вечно. Дрожит земля, когда Господь в гневе, и ни один народ его унять не может.
11 Thus1836 shall ye say560 unto them, The gods426 that1768 have not3809 made5648 the heavens8065 and the earth,778even they shall perish7 from the earth,4481772 and from4481 under8460 these429 heavens.8065
11 Господь сказал: «Весть людям передай: те идолы не сотворили небеса и землю, они все будут уничтожены и навсегда с лица земли исчезнут».
12 He hath made6213 the earth776 by his power,3581 he hath established3559 the world8398 by his wisdom,2451 and hath stretched out5186 the heavens8064 by his discretion.8394
12 Господь — единственный, Кто Своим могуществом землю сотворил. Он мудростью Своею мир построил и разумом Своим раскинул над землёю небеса.

13 Господь посылает гром и дожди, по Своей воле с небес обрушивает Он потоки вод. Он заставляет облака подниматься над землёю, выводит молнии и ветер из Своих хранилищ.

14 Глуп человек! И истукан, им созданный, кузнеца позорит. В нём всё лишь ложь, в нём нет души, он мёртв.

15 Они не стоят ничего, они для смеха повод, и после Суда их ждёт уничтожение.
16 The portion2506 of Jacob3290is not3808 like them:428 for3588 he1931is the former3335 of all3605things; and Israel3478is the rod7626 of his inheritance:5159 The LORD3068 of hosts6635is his name.8034
16 Но Бог Иакова совсем иной: всё сотворил Он, и Израиль есть та семья, которую Он выбрал, чтобы Своим народом сделать. Имя Бога — Господь Всемогущий!
17 Gather up622 thy wares3666 out of the land,4480776 O inhabitant3427 of the fortress.4693
17 Собери всё, что есть у тебя, и готовься уйти из этой земли. Ты, народ Иудеи, пойман в городе, окружённом врагом.

18 Господь говорит: «Иудеев из этой страны Я изгоню. Я принесу им боль, несчастья, беды, и они получат свой урок».
