1 Now these2063 are the commandments,4687 the statutes,2706 and the judgments,4941 which834 the LORD3068 your God430 commanded6680 to teach3925 you, that ye might do6213 them in the land776 whither834 8033 ye859 go5674 to possess3423 it:

2 That4616 thou mightest fear3372 853 the LORD3068 thy God,430 to keep8104 853 all3605 his statutes2708 and his commandments,4687 which834 I595 command6680 thee, thou,859 and thy son,1121 and thy son's1121 son,1121 all3605 the days3117 of thy life;2416 and that4616 thy days3117 may be prolonged.748

3 Hear8085 therefore, O Israel,3478 and observe8104 to do6213 it; that834 it may be well3190 with thee, and that834 ye may increase7235 mightily,3966 as834 the LORD3068 God430 of thy fathers1 hath promised1696 thee, in the land776 that floweth2100 with milk2461 and honey.1706

4 Hear,8085 O Israel:3478 The LORD3068 our God430 is one259 LORD: 3068

5 And thou shalt love157 853 the LORD3068 thy God430 with all3605 thine heart,3824 and with all3605 thy soul,5315 and with all3605 thy might.3966

6 And these428 words,1697 which834 I595 command6680 thee this day,3117 shall be1961 in5921 thine heart: 3824

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently8150 unto thy children,1121 and shalt talk1696 of them when thou sittest3427 in thine house,1004 and when thou walkest1980 by the way,1870 and when thou liest down,7901 and when thou risest up.6965

8 And thou shalt bind7194 them for a sign226 upon5921 thine hand,3027 and they shall be1961 as frontlets2903 between996 thine eyes.5869

9 And thou shalt write3789 them upon5921 the posts4201 of thy house,1004 and on thy gates.8179

10 And it shall be,1961 when3588 the LORD3068 thy God430 shall have brought935 thee into413 the land776 which834 he swore7650 unto thy fathers,1 to Abraham,85 to Isaac,3327 and to Jacob,3290 to give5414 thee great1419 and goodly2896 cities,5892 which834 thou buildedst1129 not,3808

11 And houses1004 full4392 of all3605 good2898 things, which834 thou filledst4390 not,3808 and wells953 digged,2672 which834 thou diggedst2672 not,3808 vineyards3754 and olive trees,2132 which834 thou plantedst5193 not;3808 when thou shalt have eaten398 and be full;7646

12 Then beware8104 lest6435 thou forget7911 853 the LORD,3068 which834 brought thee forth3318 out of the land4480 776 of Egypt,4714 from the house4480 1004 of bondage.5650

13 Thou shalt fear3372 853 the LORD3068 thy God,430 and serve5647 him, and shalt swear7650 by his name.8034

14 Ye shall not3808 go1980 after310 other312 gods,430 of the gods4480 430 of the people5971 which834 are round about5439 you;

15 (For3588 the LORD3068 thy God430 is a jealous7067 God410 among7130 you) lest6435 the anger639 of the LORD3068 thy God430 be kindled2734 against thee, and destroy8045 thee from off4480 5921 the face6440 of the earth.127

16 Ye shall not3808 tempt5254 853 the LORD3068 your God,430 as834 ye tempted5254 him in Massah.4532

17 Ye shall diligently keep8104 8104 853 the commandments4687 of the LORD3068 your God,430 and his testimonies,5713 and his statutes,2706 which834 he hath commanded6680 thee.

18 And thou shalt do6213 that which is right3477 and good2896 in the sight5869 of the LORD:3068 that4616 it may be well3190 with thee, and that thou mayest go in935 and possess3423 853 the good2896 land776 which834 the LORD3068 swore7650 unto thy fathers,1

19 To cast out1920 853 all3605 thine enemies341 from before4480 6440 thee, as834 the LORD3068 hath spoken.1696

20 And when3588 thy son1121 asketh7592 thee in time to come,4279 saying,559 What4100 mean the testimonies,5713 and the statutes,2706 and the judgments,4941 which834 the LORD3068 our God430 hath commanded6680 you?

21 Then thou shalt say559 unto thy son,1121 We were1961 Pharaoh's6547 bondmen5650 in Egypt;4714 and the LORD3068 brought us out3318 of Egypt4480 4714 with a mighty2389 hand: 3027

22 And the LORD3068 showed5414 signs226 and wonders,4159 great1419 and sore,7451 upon Egypt,4714 upon Pharaoh,6547 and upon all3605 his household,1004 before our eyes: 5869

23 And he brought us out3318 853 from thence,4480 8033 that4616 he might bring us in,935 853 to give5414 us853 the land776 which834 he swore7650 unto our fathers.1

24 And the LORD3068 commanded6680 us to do6213 853 all3605 these428 statutes,2706 to fear3372 the853 LORD3068 our God,430 for our good2896 always,3605 3117 that he might preserve us alive,2421 as it is at this2088 day.3117

25 And it shall be1961 our righteousness,6666 if3588 we observe8104 to do6213 853 all3605 these2063 commandments4687 before6440 the LORD3068 our God,430 as834 he hath commanded6680 us.

Chapter 6

1 NOW these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments which the LORD your God commanded me to teach you, that you shall do them in the land into which you are going to possess it;

2 That you may fear the LORD your God, to keep all his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, which I commanded you, this day, you and your son and your son's son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe and do them; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase greatly; for the LORD God of your fathers has promised you that he will give you a land that flows with milk and honey.

4 Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God is one LORD;

5 And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

6 And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart:

7 And you shall repeat them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as a token between your eyes.

9 And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

10 And it shall be, when the LORD your God shall have brought you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you great and goodly cities, which you did not build,

11 And houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, and cisterns digged, which you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees, which you did not plant; when you shall eat and be full;

12 Then take heed lest you forget the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13 You shall reverence the LORD your God, and serve him, and shall swear by his name.

14 You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the people who are round about you,

15 (For the LORD your God is a zealous God among you) test the anger of the LORD your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.

16 You shall not tempt the LORD your God, as you tempted him with temptations.

17 You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you.

18 And you shall de that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD; that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore to your fathers,

19 And defeat all your enemies from before you, as the LORD has spoken.

20 And when your son asks you in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies and the statutes and the judgments which the LORD our God has commanded you?

21 Then you shall say to your son, We were Pharaoh's slaves in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;

22 And the LORD wrought signs and great wonders, and plagues in Egypt against Pharaoh and against all his army, before our eyes;

23 And the LORD brought us out from there, that he might bring us in and give us the land which he swore to our fathers.

24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to revere the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe and do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.
