1 Now it came1961 to pass when834 Sanballat,5571 and Tobiah,2900 and Geshem1654 the Arabian,6163 and the rest3499 of our enemies,341 heard8085 that I had built1129 the wall,2346 and that there was no3808 breach6556 left3498 therein; (though1571 at5704 that time6256 I had not set5975 up the doors1817 on the gates;8179)

2 That Sanballat5571 and Geshem1654 sent7971 to me, saying,559 Come,3212 let us meet3259 together3162 in some one of the villages3715 in the plain1237 of Ono.207 But they thought2803 to do6213 me mischief.7451

3 And I sent7971 messengers4397 to them, saying,559 I am doing6213 a great1419 work,4399 so that I cannot369 come3381 down:3381 why4100 should the work4399 cease,7673 whilst834 I leave7503 it, and come3381 down3381 to you?

3 Но я послал7971 к ним послов4397 сказать:559 я занят6213 большим1419 делом,4399 не могу3201 сойти;3381 дело4399 остановилось7673 бы, если бы я оставил7503 его и сошел3381 к вам.

4 Yet they sent7971 to me four702 times6471 after this2088 sort;1697 and I answered7725 them after the same2088 manner.1697

4 Четыре702 раза6471 присылали7971 они ко мне с таким же приглашением,1697 и я отвечал7725 им то же.

5 Then sent7971 Sanballat5571 his servant5288 to me in like2088 manner1697 the fifth2549 time6471 with an open6605 letter107 in his hand;3027

5 Тогда прислал7971 ко мне Санаваллат5571 в пятый2549 раз6471 своего слугу,5288 у которого в руке3027 было открытое6605 письмо.107

6 Wherein was written,3789 It is reported8085 among the heathen,1471 and Gashmu1654 said559 it, that you and the Jews3064 think2803 to rebel:4775 for which3651 cause you build1129 the wall,2346 that you may be their king,4428 according to these428 words.1697

7 And you have also1571 appointed5975 prophets5030 to preach7121 of you at Jerusalem,3389 saying,559 There is a king4428 in Judah:3063 and now6258 shall it be reported8085 to the king4428 according to these428 words.1697 Come3212 now6258 therefore, and let us take counsel3289 together.3162

7 и пророков5030 поставил5975 ты, чтоб они разглашали7121 о тебе в Иерусалиме3389 и говорили:559 царь4428 Иудейский!3063 И такие речи1697 дойдут8085 до царя.4428 Итак приходи,3212 и посоветуемся3289 вместе.3162

8 Then I sent7971 to him, saying,559 There are no3808 such428 things1697 done as you say,559 but you feign908 them out of your own heart.3820

8 Но я послал7971 к нему сказать:559 ничего такого не было,1961 о чем ты говоришь;559 ты выдумал908 это своим умом.3820
|
|
9 For they all3605 made us afraid,3372 saying,559 Their hands3027 shall be weakened7503 from the work,4399 that it be not done.6213 Now6258 therefore, O God, strengthen2388 my hands.3027
|
9 Ибо все они стращали3372 нас, думая:559 опустятся7503 руки3027 их от дела4399 сего, и оно не состоится;6213 но я тем более укрепил2388 руки3027 мои.

10 Afterward I came935 to the house1004 of Shemaiah8098 the son1121 of Delaiah1806 the son1121 of Mehetabeel,4105 who1931 was shut6113 up; and he said,559 Let us meet3259 together in the house1004 of God,430 within8432 the temple,1964 and let us shut5462 the doors1817 of the temple:1964 for they will come935 to slay2026 you; yes, in the night3915 will they come935 to slay2026 you.

10 Пришел935 я в дом1004 Шемаии,8098 сына1121 Делаии,1806 сына1121 Мегетавелова,4105 и он заперся6113 и сказал:559 пойдем3259 в дом1004 Божий,430 внутрь8432 храма,1964 и запрем5462 за собою двери1817 храма,1964 потому что придут935 убить2026 тебя, и придут935 убить2026 тебя ночью.3915

11 And I said,559 Should such3644 a man376 as I flee?1272 and who4310 is there, that, being as I am, would go935 into413 the temple1964 to save2425 his life?2425 I will not go935 in.

11 Но я сказал:559 может ли бежать1272 такой человек,376 как3644 я? Может ли такой, как я, войти935 в храм,1964 чтобы остаться2425 живым?2425 Не пойду.935

12 And, see,2009 I perceived5234 that God430 had not sent7971 him; but that he pronounced1696 this prophecy5016 against5921 me: for Tobiah2900 and Sanballat5571 had hired7936 him.

12 Я знал,5234 что не Бог430 послал7971 его, хотя он пророчески5016 говорил1696 мне, но что Товия2900 и Санаваллат5571 подкупили7936 его.

13 Therefore was he hired,7936 that I should be afraid,3372 and do6213 so,3651 and sin,2398 and that they might have matter for an evil7451 report,8034 that they might reproach2778 me.

13 Для того он был подкуплен,7936 чтоб я устрашился3372 и сделал6213 так и согрешил,2398 и чтобы имели о мне худое7451 мнение8034 и преследовали2778 меня за это укоризнами.2778

14 My God,430 think2142 you on Tobiah2900 and Sanballat5571 according to these428 their works,4639 and on the prophetess5031 Noadiah,5129 and the rest3499 of the prophets,5030 that would have put me in fear.3372
|
14 Помяни,2142 Боже430 мой, Товию2900 и Санаваллата5571 по сим делам4639 их, а также пророчицу5031 Ноадию5129 и прочих3499 пророков,5030 которые хотели3372 устрашить3372 меня!
|

15 So the wall2346 was finished7999 in the twenty6242 and fifth2568 day of the month Elul,435 in fifty2572 and two8147 days.3117

15 Стена2346 была7999 совершена7999 в двадцать6242 пятый2568 день месяца Елула,435 в пятьдесят2572 два8147 дня.3117
|
|
16 And it came1961 to pass, that when834 all3605 our enemies341 heard8085 thereof, and all3605 the heathen1471 that were about us saw7200 these things, they were much3966 cast5307 down5307 in their own eyes:5869 for they perceived3045 that this2063 work4399 was worked6213 of our God.430

16 Когда услышали8085 об этом все неприятели341 наши, и увидели7200 это все народы,1471 которые вокруг5439 нас, тогда они очень3966 упали5307 в глазах5869 своих и познали,3045 что это дело4399 сделано6213 Богом430 нашим.

17 Moreover1571 in those1992 days3117 the nobles2715 of Judah3063 sent1980 many7235 letters107 to Tobiah,2900 and the letters of Tobiah2900 came935 to them.

17 Сверх того в те дни3117 знатнейшие2715 Иудеи3063 много7235 писали писем,107 которые посылались1980 к Товии,2900 а Товиины2900 письма приходили935 к ним.

18 For there were many7227 in Judah3063 sworn1167 7621 to him, because3588 he was the son2860 in law2859 of Shechaniah7935 the son1121 of Arah;733 and his son1121 Johanan3076 had taken3947 the daughter1323 of Meshullam4918 the son1121 of Berechiah.1296

18 Ибо многие7227 в Иудее3063 были в11677621 клятвенном11677621 союзе11677621 с ним, потому что он был зять2860 Шехании,7935 сын1121 Арахова,733 а сын1121 его Иоханан3076 взял3947 за себя дочь1323 Мешуллама,4918 сына1121 Верехии.1296

19 Also1571 they reported559 his good2896 deeds before6440 me, and uttered3318 my words1697 to him. And Tobiah2900 sent7971 letters107 to put me in fear.3372

19 Даже о доброте2896 его они говорили559 при3942 мне, и мои слова1697 переносились3318 к нему. Товия2900 присылал7971 письма,107 чтоб устрашить3372 меня.
