2 Looking872 to Jesus2424 the author747 and finisher5047 of our faith;4102 who3739 for the joy5479 that was set4295 before4295 him endured5278 the cross,4716 despising2706 the shame,152 and is set2523 down2523 at1722 the right1188 hand of the throne2362 of God.2316

4 You have not yet3768 resisted478 to blood,129 striving464 against4314 sin.266

5 And you have forgotten1585 the exhortation3874 which3748 speaks1256 to you as to children,5207 My son,5207 despise3643 not you the chastening3809 of the Lord,2962 nor3366 faint1590 when you are rebuked1651 of him:

7 If1487 you endure5278 chastening,3809 God2316 deals4374 with you as with sons;5207 for what5101 son5207 is he whom3739 the father3962 chastens3811 not?

8 But if1487 you be without5565 chastisement,3809 whereof3739 all3956 are partakers,3353 then686 are you bastards,3541 and not sons.5207

9 Furthermore1534 we have2192 had2192 fathers3962 of our flesh4561 which corrected3810 us, and we gave1788 them reverence:1788 shall we not much4183 rather3123 be in subjection5293 to the Father3962 of spirits,4151 and live?2198

10 For they truly3303 for a few3641 days2250 chastened3811 us after2596 their own848 pleasure;3588 1380 but he for our profit,4851 that we might be partakers3335 of his holiness.41

11 Now1161 no3956 3756 chastening3809 for the present3918 seems1380 to be joyous,5479 but grievous:3077 nevertheless1161 afterward5305 it yields591 the peaceable1516 fruit2590 of righteousness1343 to them which are exercised1128 thereby.1223 846

14 Follow1377 peace1515 with all3956 men, and holiness,38 without5565 which3739 no3762 man3762 shall see3700 the Lord:2962

15 Looking1983 diligently lest3361 any5100 man fail5302 of the grace5485 of God;2316 lest3361 any5100 root4491 of bitterness4088 springing5453 up trouble1776 you, and thereby1223 5026 many4183 be defiled;3392

24 And to Jesus2424 the mediator3316 of the new3501 covenant,1242 and to the blood129 of sprinkling,4473 that speaks2980 better2909 things than3844 that of Abel.6

26 Whose3739 voice5456 then5119 shook4531 the earth:1093 but now3568 he has promised,1861 saying,3004 Yet2089 once530 more I shake4579 not the earth1093 only,3440 but also2532 heaven.3772

27 And this3588 word, Yet2089 once530 more, signifies1213 the removing3331 of those3588 things that are shaken,4531 as of things that are made,4160 that those3588 things which cannot3361 be shaken4531 may remain.3306
