1 Behold,2005 I will send7971 my messenger,4397 and he shall prepare6437 the way1870 before6440 me: and the LORD,113 whom834 you seek,1245 shall suddenly6597 come935 to his temple,1964 even the messenger4397 of the covenant,1285 whom834 you delight2655 in: behold,2009 he shall come,935 said559 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635

1 Siehe, ich will935 meinen Engel4397 senden7971, der vor6437 mir6440 her den Weg1870 bereiten soll. Und bald6597 wird kommen zu2655 seinem Tempel1964 der HErr113, den ihr suchet1245, und der Engel4397 des Bundes1285, des ihr begehret. Siehe, er kommt935! spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

2 But who4310 may abide3557 the day3117 of his coming?935 and who4310 shall stand5975 when he appears?7200 for he is like a refiner's6884 fire,784 and like fullers'3526 soap:1287

2 Wer wird3557 aber den Tag3117 seiner Zukunft erleiden mögen, und5975 wer wird bestehen, wenn er wird erscheinen7200? Denn er ist935 wie das Feuer784 eines Goldschmieds6884 und wie die Seife1287 der Wäscher3526.

3 And he shall sit3427 as a refiner6884 and purifier2891 of silver:3701 and he shall purify2891 the sons1121 of Levi,3878 and purge2212 them as gold2091 and silver,3701 that they may offer5066 to the LORD3068 an offering4503 in righteousness.6666

3 Er wird2891 sitzen3427 und schmelzen und das Silber3701 reinigen; er wird2891 die Kinder1121 Levi3878 reinigen und läutern6884 wie Gold2091 und Silber3701. Dann werden sie5066 dem HErrn3068 Speisopfer4503 bringen in Gerechtigkeit6666,

4 Then shall the offering4503 of Judah3063 and Jerusalem3389 be pleasant6149 to the LORD,3068 as in the days3117 of old,5769 and as in former6931 years.8141

4 und wird dem6931 HErrn3068 wohlgefallen das Speisopfer4503 Judas und Jerusalems3389, wie vorhin und vor3117 langen Jahren8141.

5 And I will come7126 near7126 to you to judgment;4941 and I will be a swift4116 witness5707 against the sorcerers,3784 and against the adulterers,5003 and against false8267 swearers,7650 and against those that oppress6231 the hireling7916 in his wages,7939 the widow,490 and the fatherless,3490 and that turn5186 aside5186 the stranger1616 from his right, and fear3372 not me, said559 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635

5 Und ich will zu euch3372 kommen7126 und euch strafen und ein schneller4116 Zeuge5707 sein wider die Zauberer3784, Ehebrecher5003 und Meineidigen7650 und wider die, so Gewalt6231 und Unrecht4941 tun den Tagelöhnern7939, Witwen490 und Waisen3490 und den Fremdling1616 drücken5186 und mich nicht8267 fürchten, spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

6 For I am the LORD,3068 I change8138 not; therefore you sons1121 of Jacob3290 are not consumed.3615

6 Denn ich bin der HErr3068, der nicht lüget. Und es soll mit euch Kindern1121 Jakobs3290 nicht gar aus3615 sein.

7 Even from the days3117 of your fathers1 you are gone5493 away5493 from my ordinances,2706 and have not kept8104 them. Return7725 to me, and I will return7725 to you, said559 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635 But you said,559 Wherein4100 shall we return?7725

7 Ihr seid von eurer Väter1 Zeit3117 an immerdar abgewichen von meinen Geboten2706 und habt sie559 nicht gehalten8104: So bekehret euch5493 nun zu mir7725, so will7725 ich mich zu euch7725 auch kehren, spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635. So sprechet ihr: Worin sollen wir uns bekehren?

8 Will a man120 rob6906 God?430 Yet you have robbed6906 me. But you say,559 Wherein4100 have we robbed6906 you? In tithes4643 and offerings.8641

8 Ist‘s recht, daß ein Mensch120 GOtt430 täuschet, wie ihr mich täuschet? So sprechet ihr: Womit täuschen wir dich? Am Zehnten4643 und559 Hebopfer8641.

9 You are cursed779 with a curse:3994 for you have robbed6906 me, even this whole3605 nation.1471
|
9 Darum3994 seid ihr auch verflucht779, daß euch alles unter den Händen zerrinnet; denn ihr täuschet mich allesamt.

|
10 Bring935 you all3605 the tithes4643 into413 the storehouse,214 that there may be meat2964 in my house,1004 and prove974 me now4994 herewith,2063 said559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 if I will not open6605 you the windows699 of heaven,8064 and pour7324 you out a blessing,1293 that there shall not be room enough1767 to receive it.

10 Bringet935 aber die Zehnten4643 ganz in mein Kornhaus214, auf6605 daß2063 in meinem Hause1004 Speise2964 sei; und prüfet mich hierin, spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635, ob ich euch nicht des Himmels8064 Fenster699 auftun werde und Segen1293 herabschütten7324 die Fülle1767.

11 And I will rebuke1605 the devourer398 for your sakes, and he shall not destroy7843 the fruits6529 of your ground;127 neither3808 shall your vine1612 cast7921 her fruit7921 before the time in the field,7704 said559 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635

11 Und ich will für euch den Fresser schelten1605, daß er euch die Frucht6529 auf dem398 Felde7704 nicht verderben7843 soll, und der Weinstock1612 im Acker127 euch nicht unfruchtbar7921 sei, spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635,

12 And all3605 nations1471 shall call833 you blessed:833 for you shall be a delightsome2656 land,776 said559 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635
|
12 daß euch alle Heiden1471 sollen selig833 preisen; denn ihr sollt ein wertes2656 Land776 sein, spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

13 Your words1697 have been stout2388 against5921 me, said559 the LORD.3068 Yet you say,559 What4100 have we spoken1696 so much against5921 you?
|
13 Ihr2388 redet1696 hart wider mich, spricht559 der HErr3068. So sprechet559 ihr: Was reden1697 wir wider dich?

14 You have said,559 It is vain7723 to serve5647 God:430 and what4100 profit1215 is it that we have kept8104 his ordinance,4931 and that we have walked1980 mournfully6941 before6440 the LORD3068 of hosts?6635
|
14 Damit, daß ihr saget: Es1215 ist1980 umsonst7723, daß man559 GOtt430 dienet5647, und: Was nützt es, daß wir sein8104 Gebot4931 halten und hart Leben vor6440 dem HErrn3068 Zebaoth6635 führen?

15 And now6258 we call833 the proud2086 happy;833 yes,1571 they that work6213 wickedness7564 are set1129 up; yes,1571 they that tempt974 God430 are even delivered.4422
|
15 Darum preisen833 wir die Verächter2086, denn die GOttlosen7564 nehmen zu6213; sie1129 versuchen974 GOtt430, und gehet ihnen alles wohl833 hinaus.

16 Then they that feared3372 the LORD3068 spoke1696 often one376 to another:7453 and the LORD3068 listened,7181 and heard8085 it, and a book5612 of remembrance2146 was written3789 before6440 him for them that feared3372 the LORD,3068 and that thought2803 on his name.8034

16 Aber die Gottesfürchtigen3373 trösten3373 sich untereinander376 also: Der HErr3068 merket7181 es5612 und3068 höret8085 es, und ist1696 vor6440 ihm ein Denkzettel, geschrieben3789 für die, so den HErrn3068 fürchten und an seinen7453 Namen8034 gedenken2803.

17 And they shall be mine, said559 the LORD3068 of hosts,6635 in that day3117 when834 I make6213 up my jewels;5459 and I will spare2550 them, as a man376 spares2550 his own son1121 that serves5647 him.

17 Sie559 sollen, spricht der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635, des Tages3117, den ich machen6213 will, mein Eigentum5459 sein; und1121 ich will ihrer schonen2550, wie ein Mann376 seines Sohns schonet, der ihm dienet5647.

18 Then shall you return,7725 and discern7200 between996 the righteous6662 and the wicked,7563 between996 him that serves5647 God430 and him that serves5647 him not.
|
18 Und ihr sollt dagegen wiederum7725 sehen7200, was für ein Unterschied sei zwischen dem Gerechten6662 und GOttlosen7563 und zwischen dem, der GOtt430 dienet5647, und dem, der ihm nicht dienet5647.
