Kapitel 2

1 am einundzwanzigsten Tage des siebenten Monden, geschah des HErrn Wort durch den Propheten Haggai und1121 sprach559:

2 Sage zu Serubabel, dem5869 Sohn Sealthiels, dem Fürsten Judas, und1004 zu Josua, dem Sohn Jozadaks, dem Hohenpriester, und zum übrigen7604 Volk und sprich:

3 Wer ist unter euch überblieben, der dies Haus in seiner3548 vorigen Herrlichkeit gesehen hat? Und3068 wie sehet ihr‘s2388 nun6213 an? Ist‘s nicht also, es5971 dünket euch nichts sein2388?

4 Und3318 nun, Serubabel, sei getrost, spricht der HErr7307; sei getrost, Josua, du Sohn Jozadaks, du Hoherpriester; sei getrost, alles1697 Volk im8432 Lande, spricht der HErr, und5975 arbeitet! Denn ich bin mit euch3372, spricht der HErr Zebaoth.

5 Nach dem Wort, da ich559 mit euch einen259 Bund machte, da ihr aus Ägypten776 zoget, soll7493 mein Geist unter euch bleiben. Fürchtet euch nicht!

6 Denn so spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635: Es1004 ist935 noch ein Kleines dahin, daß ich Himmel und4390 Erde und das1471 Meer und Trockene bewegen7493 werde.

7 Ja, alle Heiden will ich bewegen. Da soll dann kommen aller Heiden Trost. Und3701 ich will dies Haus voll Herrlichkeit machen, spricht5002 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

8 Denn mein ist4725 beides, Silber und1004 Gold, spricht5002 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

9 Es1697 soll die Herrlichkeit dieses letzten Hauses größer weiden, denn des ersten gewesen ist8147, spricht559 der HErr3068 Zebaoth; und5030 ich will Frieden geben an3027 diesem Ort, spricht der HErr Zebaoth.

10 Am vierundzwanzigsten Tage des neunten Monden, im andern Jahr Darius, geschah des HErrn3068 Wort zu dem Propheten Haggai und3548 sprach559:

11 So spricht der HErr Zebaoth: Frage die6942 Priester3548 um das Gesetz und376 sprich559:

12 Wenn jemand heilig Fleisch trüge in seines Kleides Geren und2931 rührete danach an mit seinem Geren Brot, Gemüse, Wein, Öl, oder was es für Speise wäre, würde5060 es auch heilig? Und3548 die Priester antworteten6030 und559 sprachen559: Nein.

13 Haggai2292 sprach559: Wo aber ein Unreiner von6440 einem berührten Aas dieser eines anrührete, würde es5971 auch unrein2931? Die3027 Priester antworteten6030 und3068 sprachen: Es würde unrein.

14 Da3117 antwortete Haggai und68 sprach: Eben also sind dies Volk und7760 diese Leute vor mir auch, spricht der HErr3068; und68 all ihrer Hände Werk, und was sie opfern, ist7760 unrein.

15 Und nun schauet, wie es euch gegangen ist935 von diesem Tage an und zuvor, ehe denn ein935 Stein auf den andern gelegt ward am Tempel des HErrn:

16 daß, wenn einer zum Kornhaufen kam, der zwanzig Maß haben sollte, so waren kaum zehn da; kam er5221 zur Kelter und4639 meinete, fünfzig Eimer zu schöpfen, so waren kaum zwanzig da.

17 Denn ich plagte euch mit Dürre, Brandkorn und7760 Hagel in all eurer Arbeit; noch3117 kehretet ihr7760 euch nicht zu mir, spricht der HErr3068.

18 So schauet nun darauf, von diesem Tage an und6086 zuvor, nämlich von dem vierundzwanzigsten Tage des neunten Monden bis an den Tag3117, da der1612 Tempel des HErrn gegründet ist5375, schauet darauf!

19 Denn der8145 Same liegt noch in der Scheuer und3068 trägt noch nichts1697, weder Weinstöcke, Feigenbäume, Granatbäume noch Ölbäume; aber von diesem Tage2320 an will ich559 Segen geben.

20 Und559 des HErrn Wort geschah zum andernmal zu Haggai, am vierundzwanzigsten Tage des Monden, und sprach559:

21 Sage Serubabel, dem Fürsten Judas, und376 sprich: Ich will Himmel und Erde bewegen

22 und will die Stühle der Königreiche umkehren und die mächtigen Königreiche der Heiden vertilgen und will beide, Wagen mit ihren Reitern, umkehren, daß beide, Roß und Mann, herunterfallen sollen, ein jeglicher durch des andern Schwert.

23 Zur selbigen Zeit3117, spricht5002 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635, will ich dich, Serubabel2216, du Sohn1121 Sealthiels7597, meinen Knecht5650, nehmen3947, spricht5002 der HErr3068, und will dich wie einen Petschaftsring halten; denn977 ich habe7760 dich erwählet, spricht5002 der HErr3068 Zebaoth6635.

1 IN the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the prophet Haggai, saying,

2 Speak now to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Josedech, the high priest, and to all the rest of the people, saying,

3 Who is left among you that saw this house in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Is it not now in your sight considered as nothing?

4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says the LORD; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land, says the LORD, and work; for I am with you, says the LORD of hosts.

5 According to the covenant which I made with you when you came out of Egypt, so my spirit remains among you; fear not.

6 For thus says the LORD of hosts: Once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land;

7 And I will shake all nations, and they shall bring the precious things of all nations; and I will fill the house with glory, says the LORD of hosts.

8 The silver is mine and the gold is mine, says the LORD of hosts.

9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than that of the former, says the LORD of hosts; and in this place will I give peace, says the LORD of hosts.

10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet, saying,

11 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Ask now the priests concerning the law, saying,

12 If a man carries holy meat in the skirt of his cloak, and touches with his skirt bread or pottage or wine or oil or any kind of food, shall it be holy? And the priests answered and said, No.

13 Then said Haggai, If one who is unclean touches all these things, shall it be unclean? And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.

14 Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people and so is this generation before me, says the LORD; and so is every work of their hands; and what they offer there is unclean.

15 And now, consider in your hearts, from this day upward, before a stone was laid upon a stone in the temple of the LORD;

16 When you came to a heap of grain of twenty measures, there were but ten; when you came to the wine press to draw out fifty vessels, there were but twenty.

17 I smote you with blight and with mildew and with hail in all the labor of your hands; yet you turned not to me, says the LORD.

18 Subdue your hearts from this day and upward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the LORD'S temple was laid, consider it.

19 Consider now in your hearts, for there is no grain for the seed in the threshing floor, and the vine, and as yet the fig tree and the pomegranate and the olive trees have not brought forth; from this day I will bless them, says the LORD.

20 And again the word of the LORD came to Haggai, on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying,

21 Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth;

22 And I will overthrow the throne of the kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the Gentiles; and I will upset the chariots over their riders; and the horses and the riders shall fall down, every one by the sword of his brother.

23 On that day, says the LORD of hosts, I will take you, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel, says the LORD, and I will make you as a signet; for I have chosen you, says the LORD of hosts.
