Розділ 22

1 А Ісус, відповідаючи, знов почав говорити їм при́тчами, кажучи:

2 „Царство Небесне подібне одно́му царе́ві, що весі́лля справляв був для сина свого́.

3 І послав він своїх рабів покликати тих, хто був на весі́лля запрошений, — та ті не хотіли прийти.

4 Зно́ву послав він інших рабів, наказуючи: „Скажіть запрошеним: Ось я приготува́в обід свій, закололи бики й відгодо́ване, — і все готове. Ідіть на весі́лля!“

5 Та вони злегковажили та порозхо́дились, — той на поле своє, а той на свій торг.

6 А останні, похапавши рабів його́, знущалися, та й повбивали їх.

7 І розгнівався цар, і послав своє ві́йсько, — і вигубив тих убійників, а їхнє місто спалив.

8 Тоді каже рабам своїм: „Весі́лля готове, але́ недостойні були́ ті покликані.

9 Тож підіть на роздорі́жжя, і кого тільки спіткаєте, — кличте їх на весі́лля“.

10 І вийшовши раби ті на роздоріжжя, зібрали всіх, кого тільки спіткали, — злих і добрих. І весільна кімна́та гістьми́ перепо́внилась.

11 Як прийшов же той цар на гостей подивитись, побачив там чоловіка, в одежу весі́льну не вбра́ного,

12 та й каже йому: „Як ти, друже, ввійшов сюди, не мавши одежі весільної?“ Той же мовчав.

13 Тоді́ цар сказав своїм слу́гам: „Зв'яжіть йому ноги та руки, та й киньте до зо́внішньої те́мряви, — буде плач там і скрегіт зубів“.

14 Бо багато покли́каних, — та ви́браних мало“.

15 Тоді фарисеї пішли й умовлялись, я́к зловити на слові Його.

16 І посилають до Нього своїх учнів із іродія́нами, і кажуть: „Учителю, знаємо ми, що Ти справедливий, і наставляєш на Божу дорогу правдиво, і не зважаєш ні на кого, бо на лю́дське обличчя не дивишся Ти.

17 Скажи ж нам, як здається Тобі: чи годиться давати податок для ке́саря, чи ні?“

18 А Ісус, знавши їхнє лукавство, сказав: „Чого ви, лицеміри, Мене випробо́вуєте?

19 Покажіть Мені гріш податко́вий“. І прине́сли динарія Йому.

20 А Він каже до них: „Чий це образ і напис?“

21 Ті відказують: „Ке́сарів“. Тоді каже Він їм: „Тож віддайте кесареве — кесареві, а Богові — Боже“.

22 А почувши таке, вони диву далися. І, лишивши Його, відійшли.

23 Того дня приступили до Нього саддуке́ї, що твердять, ніби нема воскресіння, і запитали Його,

24 та й сказали: „Учителю, Мойсей наказав: „Коли хто помре, не мавши дітей, то нехай його брат візьме вдову́ його, — і відно́вить насіння для брата свого“.

25 Було ж у нас сім братів. І перший, одружи́вшись, умер, і, не мавши насіння, зоставив дружи́ну свою братові своєму.

26 Так само і другий, і третій, — аж до сьомого.

27 А по всіх вмерла й жінка.

28 Отож, у воскре́сенні котро́му з сімох вона дружи́ною буде? Бо всі мали її“.

29 Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Помиляєтесь ви, не знавши Писа́ння, ні Божої сили.

30 Бо в воскресінні ні женяться, ані заміж виходять, але як Анголи́ ті на небі.

31 А про воскресіння померлих хіба не читали проре́ченого вам від Бога, що каже:

32 „Я Бог Авраамів, і Бог Ісаків, і Бог Яковів; Бог не є Богом мертвих, а живих“.

33 А наро́д, чувши це, дивувався науці Його.

34 Фарисеї ж, почувши, що Він у́ста замкнув саддуке́ям, зібралися ра́зом.

35 І спитався один із них, учитель Зако́ну, Його випробо́вуючи й кажучи:

36 „Учителю, котра́ заповідь найбільша в Зако́ні?“

37 Він же промовив йому́: „Люби Господа Бога свого всім серцем своїм, і всією душею своєю, і всією своєю думкою“.

38 Це найбільша й найперша заповідь.

39 А друга одна́кова з нею: „Люби свого ближнього, як само́го себе́“.

40 На двох оцих заповідях увесь Зако́н і Пророки стоять“.

41 Коли ж фарисеї зібрались, Ісус їх запитав,

42 і сказав: „Що́ ви думаєте про Христа? Чий Він син?“ Вони Йому кажуть: „Давидів“.

43 Він до них промовляє: „Як же то силою Духа Давид Його Господом зве, коли каже:

44 „Промовив Господь Господе́ві моєму: сядь право́руч Мене, доки не покладу Я Твоїх ворогів підніжком ногам Твоїм“.

45 Тож, коли Давид зве Його Господом, — як же Він йому син?“

46 І ніхто не спромігся відпові́сти Йому ані сло́ва... І ніхто з того дня не наважувався більш питати Його.

Matthew

Chapter 22

1 AND Jesus answered again by parables, and said,

2 The kingdom of heaven is like a king who gave a marriage-feast for his son.

3 And he sent his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage-feast, but they would not come.

4 Again he sent other servants and said, Tell those who are invited, Behold my supper is ready, and my oxen and fatlings are killed, and everything is prepared; come to the marriage- feast.

5 But they sneered at it, and went away, one to his field, another to his business;

6 And the rest seized his servants and insulted them, and killed them.

7 When the king heard it he was angry; and he sent out his armies and destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

8 Then he said to his servants, Now the marriage-feast is ready, and those who were invited were unworthy.

9 Go, therefore, to the main roads, and whomever you may find, invite them to the marriage- feast.

10 So the servants went out to the roads and gathered together every one they could find, bad and good; and the wedding-house was filled with guests.

11 When the king entered to see the guests, he saw there a man who was not wearing wedding garments.

12 And he said to him, My friend, how did you enter here, when you do not have wedding garments? And he was speechless.

13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind his hands and his feet and take him out into darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

14 For many are invited, and few are chosen.

15 Then the Pharisees went away and took counsel how to trap him by a word.

16 So they sent to him their disciples together with the Herodians, and they said to him, Teacher, we know that you are true, and you teach the way of God justly; and you do not favor any man, for you do not discriminate between men.

17 Tell us, therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay head-tax to Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus knew their evil, and said, Why do you tempt me, O hypocrites?

19 Show me the head-tax penny. And they brought to him a penny.

20 And Jesus said to them, Whose is this image and inscription?

21 They said, Caesar's. He said to them, Give therefore to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.

22 And when they heard it, they were amazed; and they left him and went away.

23 That same day the Sadducees came and said to him, There is no resurrection of the dead; and they asked him,

24 And said to him, Teacher, Moses has told us, If a man die without sons, let his brother take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.

25 Now there were with us seven brothers; the first married and died, and because he had no sons, he left his wife to his brother.

26 Likewise the second, also the third, up to the seventh.

27 And after them all the woman also died.

28 Therefore at the resurrection, to which of these seven will she be a wife? for they all married her.

29 Jesus answered, and said to them, You err, because you do not understand the scriptures nor the power of God.

30 For at the resurrection of the dead, they neither marry women, nor are women given to men in marriage, but they are like the angels of God in heaven.

31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, saying,

32 I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob? And yet God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

33 And when the people heard it, they were amazed at his teaching.

34 But when the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.

35 And one of them who knew the law, asked him, testing him,

36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said to him, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your power, and with all your mind.

38 This is the greatest and the first commandment.

39 And the second is like to it, Love your neighbor as yourself.

40 On these two commandments hang the law and the prophets.

41 While the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them,

42 And he said, What do you say concerning the Christ? whose son is he? They said to him, son of David.

43 He said to them, How is it then that David through the Spirit calls him Lord? For he said,

44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.

45 If David then calls him Lord, how can he be his son?

46 And no man was able to answer him, and from that day no man dared to question him.

5 Та вони злегковажили та порозхо́дились, — той на поле своє, а той на свій торг.	5 But they sneered at it, and went away, one to his field, another to his business;

10 І вийшовши раби ті на роздоріжжя, зібрали всіх, кого тільки спіткали, — злих і добрих. І весільна кімна́та гістьми́ перепо́внилась.	10 So the servants went out to the roads and gathered together every one they could find, bad and good; and the wedding-house was filled with guests.
11 Як прийшов же той цар на гостей подивитись, побачив там чоловіка, в одежу весі́льну не вбра́ного,	11 When the king entered to see the guests, he saw there a man who was not wearing wedding garments.
12 та й каже йому: „Як ти, друже, ввійшов сюди, не мавши одежі весільної?“ Той же мовчав.	12 And he said to him, My friend, how did you enter here, when you do not have wedding garments? And he was speechless.
13 Тоді́ цар сказав своїм слу́гам: „Зв'яжіть йому ноги та руки, та й киньте до зо́внішньої те́мряви, — буде плач там і скрегіт зубів“.	13 Then the king said to the servants, Bind his hands and his feet and take him out into darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 Бо багато покли́каних, — та ви́браних мало“.	14 For many are invited, and few are chosen.
15 Тоді фарисеї пішли й умовлялись, я́к зловити на слові Його.	15 Then the Pharisees went away and took counsel how to trap him by a word.
16 І посилають до Нього своїх учнів із іродія́нами, і кажуть: „Учителю, знаємо ми, що Ти справедливий, і наставляєш на Божу дорогу правдиво, і не зважаєш ні на кого, бо на лю́дське обличчя не дивишся Ти.	16 So they sent to him their disciples together with the Herodians, and they said to him, Teacher, we know that you are true, and you teach the way of God justly; and you do not favor any man, for you do not discriminate between men.
17 Скажи ж нам, як здається Тобі: чи годиться давати податок для ке́саря, чи ні?“	17 Tell us, therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay head-tax to Caesar, or not?
18 А Ісус, знавши їхнє лукавство, сказав: „Чого ви, лицеміри, Мене випробо́вуєте?	18 But Jesus knew their evil, and said, Why do you tempt me, O hypocrites?

21 Ті відказують: „Ке́сарів“. Тоді каже Він їм: „Тож віддайте кесареве — кесареві, а Богові — Боже“.	21 They said, Caesar's. He said to them, Give therefore to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's.
22 А почувши таке, вони диву далися. І, лишивши Його, відійшли.	22 And when they heard it, they were amazed; and they left him and went away.
23 Того дня приступили до Нього саддуке́ї, що твердять, ніби нема воскресіння, і запитали Його,	23 That same day the Sadducees came and said to him, There is no resurrection of the dead; and they asked him,
24 та й сказали: „Учителю, Мойсей наказав: „Коли хто помре, не мавши дітей, то нехай його брат візьме вдову́ його, — і відно́вить насіння для брата свого“.	24 And said to him, Teacher, Moses has told us, If a man die without sons, let his brother take his wife, and raise up offspring for his brother.
25 Було ж у нас сім братів. І перший, одружи́вшись, умер, і, не мавши насіння, зоставив дружи́ну свою братові своєму.	25 Now there were with us seven brothers; the first married and died, and because he had no sons, he left his wife to his brother.
26 Так само і другий, і третій, — аж до сьомого.	26 Likewise the second, also the third, up to the seventh.
27 А по всіх вмерла й жінка.	27 And after them all the woman also died.
28 Отож, у воскре́сенні котро́му з сімох вона дружи́ною буде? Бо всі мали її“.	28 Therefore at the resurrection, to which of these seven will she be a wife? for they all married her.
29 Ісус же промовив у відповідь їм: „Помиляєтесь ви, не знавши Писа́ння, ні Божої сили.	29 Jesus answered, and said to them, You err, because you do not understand the scriptures nor the power of God.

31 А про воскресіння померлих хіба не читали проре́ченого вам від Бога, що каже:	31 But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God, saying,

36 „Учителю, котра́ заповідь найбільша в Зако́ні?“	36 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
37 Він же промовив йому́: „Люби Господа Бога свого всім серцем своїм, і всією душею своєю, і всією своєю думкою“.	37 Jesus said to him, Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your power, and with all your mind.
38 Це найбільша й найперша заповідь.	38 This is the greatest and the first commandment.

44 „Промовив Господь Господе́ві моєму: сядь право́руч Мене, доки не покладу Я Твоїх ворогів підніжком ногам Твоїм“.	44 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I put your enemies under your feet.
45 Тож, коли Давид зве Його Господом, — як же Він йому син?“	45 If David then calls him Lord, how can he be his son?
46 І ніхто не спромігся відпові́сти Йому ані сло́ва... І ніхто з того дня не наважувався більш питати Його.	46 And no man was able to answer him, and from that day no man dared to question him.
