1 І скликав Він Дванадцятьо́х, і дав їм силу та вла́ду над усіма де́монами, і вздоровля́ти неду́ги.

2 І послав їх проповідувати Царство Боже та вздоровляти недужих.

3 І промовив до них: „Не беріть нічо́го в дорогу: ані па́лиці, ані торби, ні хліба, ні срі́бла, ані майте по двоє убра́нь.

4 І в який дім уві́йдете, — зоставайтеся там, і звідти відходьте.

5 А як хто вас не при́йме, то, вихо́дячи з міста того, обтрусіть від ніг ваших по́рох на сві́дчення су́проти них“.

6 І вийшли вони, та й ходили по селах, звіщаючи Добру Нови́ну та всюди вздоровля́ючи.

7 А І́род тетра́рх прочув усе, що сталось було, і вагався, бо дехто казали, що Іван це із мертвих устав,

8 а інші, що Ілля́ то з'явився, а знов інші, що ожив це один із стародавніх пророків.

9 Тоді Ірод сказав: „Іванові стяв я голову; хто ж Оцей, що я чую про Нього речі такі?“ І він намагався побачити Його.

10 А коли повернулись апо́столи, вони розповіли Йому, що́ зробили. І Він їх узяв, та й пішов самото́ю на місце безлюдне, біля міста, що зветься Віфсаі́да.

11 А як люди дові́далися, то пішли вслід за Ним. І Він їх прийняв, і розповідав їм про Боже Царство, та тих уздоровля́в, хто потребува́в уздоро́влення.

12 А день став схилятися. І Двана́дцятеро підійшли та й сказали Йому: „Відпусти вже людей, — нехай вони йдуть у довко́лишні села й оселі спочити й здобути поживи, бо ми тут у місці безлю́дному!“

13 А Він їм сказав: „Дайте їсти їм ви“. Вони ж відказали: „Немає в нас більше, як п'я́теро хліба й дві рибі. Хіба пі́демо та купимо поживи для всього наро́ду цього́“.

14 Бо було чоловіків десь тисяч із п'ять. І сказав Він до у́чнів Своїх: „Розсадіть їх рядами — по п'ятидесяти́“.

15 І зробили отак, і всіх їх розсади́ли.

16 I Він узяв п'ять хлібі́в та дві рибі, споглянув на небо, поблагословив їх, і поламав, і дав учням, щоб клали наро́дові.

17 І всі їли й наси́тились! А з кусків позосталих зібрали дванадцять коші́в.

18 І сталось, як насамоті Він молився, з Ним учні були́. І спитав Він їх, кажучи: „За кого Мене люди вважають?“

19 Вони ж відповіли́ та сказали: „За Івана Христителя, а ті за Іллю́, а інші, — що воскрес один із давніх пророків“.

20 А Він запитав їх: „А ви за кого Мене маєте?“ Петро ж відповів та сказав: „За Христа Божого!“

21 Він же їм заказав, і звелів не казати ніко́му про це.

22 І сказав Він: „Синові Лю́дському треба багато страждати, і Його відцураються старші, і первосвященики, і книжники, і буде Він убитий, — але третього дня Він воскресне!“

23 А до всіх Він промовив: „Коли хоче хто йти вслід за Мною, хай зрече́ться само́го себе, і хай ві́зьме щоденно свого́ хреста, та й за Мною йде.

24 Бо хто хоче душу свою́ зберегти, той погубить її, а хто ради Мене згубить душу свою́, той її збереже́.

25 Яка ж ко́ристь люди́ні, що здобу́де ввесь світ, але́ занапа́стить чи згубить себе?

26 Бо хто буде Мене та Моєї науки соро́митися, того посоро́миться також Син Лю́дський, як при́йде у славі Своїй, і Отчій, і святих анголі́в.

27 Правдиво ж кажу́ вам, що деякі з тут-о прия́вних не скуштують смерти, аж поки не побачать Царства Божого“.

28 І сталось після оцих слів днів за вісім, узяв Він Петра, і Івана, і Якова, та й пішов помолитись на го́ру.

29 І коли Він молився, то вигляд лиця Його переобрази́вся, а одежа Його стала біла й блиску́ча.

30 І ось два му́жі з Ним розмовляли, — були то Мойсей та Ілля́,

31 що з'явилися в славі, і говорили про кінець Його, який в Єрусалимі Він мав докінчи́ти.

32 А Петро та прия́вні з ним були змо́рені сном, але, пробуди́вшись, бачили славу Його й обох му́жів, що стояли при Ньому.

33 І сталось, як із Ним розлучались вони, то промовив Петро до Ісуса: „Учителю, добре нам бути отут! Поставмо ж отут три шатра: для Тебе одне, і Мойсею одне, і одне для Іллі!“ Він не знав, що говорить...

34 А як він говорив це, насу́нула хмара та їх заслони́ла. І вони полякались, як стали ті вхо́дити в хмару.

35 І почувся ось голос із хмари, який промовляв: „Це Син Мій Улю́блений, — Його слухайтеся!“

36 А коли оцей голос лунав, Ісус Сам позостався. А вони промовча́ли, і ніко́му нічо́го тих днів не казали, що́ бачили.

37 А наступного дня, як спустились з гори, перестрів Його на́товп великий.

38 І закричав ось один чоловік із наро́ду й сказав: Учителю, благаю Тебе, — зглянься над сином моїм, бо одина́к він у мене!

39 А ото дух хапає його, і він нагло кричить, і трясе ним, аж той пі́ну пускає. І, вимучивши він його, насилу відхо́дить.

40 І у́чнів Твоїх я благав його вигнати, та вони не змогли“.

41 А Ісус відповів і промовив: „О, роде невірний й розбе́щений, — доки бу́ду Я з вами, і терпітиму вас? Приведи́ свого сина сюди!“

42 А як той іще йшов, де́мон кинув його та затряс. Та Ісус заказав тому духу нечистому, — і вздоро́вив дитину, і віддав її батькові її.

43 І всі дивувалися ве́личі Божій! Ісус удруге заповідає Свою смерть А як усі дивувались усьо́му, що чинив був Ісус, Він промовив до у́чнів Своїх:

44 „Вкладіть до вух своїх ці ось слова: Людський Син буде виданий людям до рук“.

45 Проте́ не зрозуміли вони цього слова, було бо закрите від них, щоб його не збагнули, та боялись Його запита́ти про це слово.

46 І прийшло їм на думку: хто б найбільший з них був?

47 А Ісус, думку серця їх знавши, узяв дитину, і поставив її біля Себе.

48 І промовив до них: „Як хто при́йме дитину оцю в Ім'я́ Моє, Мене він приймає, а як хто Мене при́йме, приймає Того, Хто послав Мене. Хто бо найменший між вами всіма́, — той великий!“

49 А Іван відповів і сказав: „Учителю, ми бачили одно́го чоловіка, що Ім'я́м Твоїм де́монів виганяв, і ми заборонили йому, бо він з нами не ходить“.

50 Ісус же йому́ відказав: „Не забороняйте, — бо хто не проти вас, той за вас!“

51 І сталось, коли дні вознесіння Його наближались, Він постановив піти в Єрусалим.

52 І Він посланців вислав перед Собою. І пішли вони, та й прибули́ до села самарянського, щоб ночі́влю Йому пригото́вити.

53 А ті не прийняли Його, бо йшов Він у на́прямі Єрусалиму.

54 Як побачили ж те учні Яків й Іван, то сказали: „Господи, — хочеш, то ми скажемо, „щоб огонь зійшов з неба та винищив“ їх, як і Ілля був зробив“.

55 А Він оберну́вся до них, їм докорив та й сказав: „Ви не знаєте, якого ви духа.

56 Бо Син Лю́дський прийшов не губи́ть душі лю́дські, а спасати!“ І пішли вони в інше село.

57 І сталось, як дорогою йшли, сказав був до Нього один: „Я піду́ за Тобою, хоч би куди Ти пішов“.

58 Ісус же йому́ відказав: „Мають но́ри лисиці, а гні́зда — небесні пташки́, — Син же Лю́дський не має ніде́ й голови прихили́ти!“

59 I промовив до другого Він: „Іди за Мною“. А той відказав: „Дозволь мені перше піти, і батька свого́ похова́ти“.

60 Він же йому відказав: „Зостав мертвим ховати мерці́в своїх. А ти йди та звіщай Царство Боже“.

61 А інший сказав був: „Господи, я піду́ за Тобою, та дозволь мені перш попрощатись із своїми дома́шніми“.

62 Ісус же промовив до нього: „Ніхто з тих, хто кладе́ свою руку на плуга та назад озира́ється, не надається до Божого Царства!“

Chapter 9

1 THEN Jesus called his twelve, and gave them power and authority over all the demons, and to cure diseases.

2 And he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

3 And he said to them, Do not take anything for the journey, neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money; nor have two shirts.

4 And into whatever house you enter, remain there, and depart from thence.

5 And whoever will not welcome you, when you leave that city, shake off even the sand from your feet for a testimony to them.

6 And the apostles went out, and travelled in villages and cities, preaching the gospel, and healing everywhere.

7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by his hand; and he was amazed, because some men said that John has risen from the dead.

8 But others, that Elijah has appeared; and others, that one of the old prophets has risen.

9 So Herod said, I have beheaded John; but who is this one concerning whom I hear these things? And he wanted to see him.

10 When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything which they had done. And he took them all alone to a lonely place in Bethsaida.

11 When the people found it out, they went after him; and he received them, and spoke to them concerning the kingdom of God, and he healed those who were in need of healing.

12 And when the day began to wane, his disciples came up and said to him, Dismiss the people, that they may go to the villages around us and to the farms, to lodge there, and find food for themselves; because we are in a lonely place.

13 Jesus said to them, You give them to eat. But they said, We do not have more than five loaves of bread and two fish; unless we go and buy food for all this people;

14 For there were about five thousand men. Jesus said to them, Make them sit down in groups, fifty men in each group.

15 The disciples did so, and made them all sit down.

16 And Jesus took the five loaves of bread and the two fish, and looked up to heaven, and he blessed them, and broke and gave them to his disciples, to set before the people.

17 And they all ate and were filled; and they took up fragments of what was left over, twelve baskets.

18 While he prayed by himself, and his disciples were with him, he asked them and said, What do the people say concerning me that I am?

19 They answered and said to him, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others that one of the old prophets has risen.

20 He said to them, But you, what do you say that I am? Simon answered and said, The Messiah (the anointed one of God).

21 But he cautioned them, and warned them not to say this to anyone.

22 And he said to them, The Son of man must suffer a great many things, and he will be rejected by the elders and the high priests and the scribes, and they will kill him, and on the third day he will rise.

23 Then he said in the presence of everyone, He who wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross every day and follow me.

24 For he who wishes to save his life, shall lose it; but he who loses his life for my sake, he shall save it.

25 For how can a man be benefited, if he gain the whole world, but lose his own soul, or even weakens it?

26 For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of man will be ashamed of him, when he comes with the glory of his Father, accompanied by his holy angels.

27 I tell you the truth, that there are men who stand here, who will not taste death, until they see the kingdom of God.

28 And it came to pass about eight days after these words, Jesus took Simon, and James and John, and went up into a mountain to pray.

29 And while he prayed, the appearance of his face was changed, and his clothes became white and dazzling.

30 And behold, two men were speaking with him, who were Moses and Elijah;

31 Who appeared in glory, and spoke concerning his departure which was to end at Jerusalem.

32 And Simon and those who were with him were heavy with sleep; and when they awoke they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

33 And when they began to leave him, Simon said to Jesus, Teacher, it is better for us to remain here; and let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah; but he did not know what he was saying.

34 And when he had said these things, there came a cloud and overshadowed them; and they were frightened when they saw Moses and Elijah enter into the cloud.

35 And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son; hear him.

36 And when the voice was heard, they found Jesus alone. And they kept silent, and in those days they did not tell any man what they saw.

37 And it came to pass the next day, as they came down from the mountain, they were met by many people.

38 And one of the men of that crowd cried out and said, O teacher, I beg you to have mercy on me. I have an only son,

39 And a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out, and gnashes his teeth and foams; and it hardly leaves him when it has tormented him.

40 And I besought your disciples to cast it out; and they could not.

41 Jesus answered and said, O crooked and faithless generation, how long will I be with you, and preach to you? Bring your son here.

42 And as he brought him, the demon attacked him and convulsed him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him to his father.

43 And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. And while every man wondered at everything which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

44 Treasure these words in your ears; for the Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men.

45 But they did not understand this word, because it was hidden from them so that they might not know it; and they were afraid to ask him concerning this word.

46 Then a reasoning entered into their minds, as to who was the greatest among them.

47 But Jesus knew the reasoning of their heart, and he took a boy and made him stand by him.

48 And he said to them, Everyone who receives a little boy like this one in my name, receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me; for whoever is least among you, let him be great.

49 And John answered and said, Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name; and we forbad him, because he did not come with us, as your follower.

50 Jesus said to them, Do not forbid; for he who is not against you is for you.

51 And it happened, when the days to go up on his journey were fulfilled, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

52 So he sent messengers ahead of him; and they went away and entered into a Samaritan village, to prepare for him.

53 But they did not receive him, because his face was set to go straight to Jerusalem.

54 When his disciples James and John saw it, they said to him, Our Lord, would you be willing that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?

55 He turned and rebuked them and said, You do not know of what spirit you are.

56 For the Son of man did not come to destroy lives, but to save. And they went to another village.

57 And while they were on the journey, a man said to him, My Lord, I will follow you wherever you go.

58 Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the fowl of the sky a shelter; but the Son of man has no place even to lay his head.

59 He said to another, Follow me; but he said to him, My Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.

60 Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their own dead; but you go and preach the kingdom of God.

61 Another one said to him, I will follow you, my Lord; but permit me first to entrust my household to some one, and then come.

62 Jesus said to him, No man who puts his hand on the plough handle, and looks back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

8 But others, that Elijah has appeared; and others, that one of the old prophets has risen.

9 Тоді Ірод сказав: „Іванові стяв я голову; хто ж Оцей, що я чую про Нього речі такі?“ І він намагався побачити Його.

9 So Herod said, I have beheaded John; but who is this one concerning whom I hear these things? And he wanted to see him.

10 А коли повернулись апо́столи, вони розповіли Йому, що́ зробили. І Він їх узяв, та й пішов самото́ю на місце безлюдне, біля міста, що зветься Віфсаі́да.

10 When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything which they had done. And he took them all alone to a lonely place in Bethsaida.

11 А як люди дові́далися, то пішли вслід за Ним. І Він їх прийняв, і розповідав їм про Боже Царство, та тих уздоровля́в, хто потребува́в уздоро́влення.

11 When the people found it out, they went after him; and he received them, and spoke to them concerning the kingdom of God, and he healed those who were in need of healing.

12 А день став схилятися. І Двана́дцятеро підійшли та й сказали Йому: „Відпусти вже людей, — нехай вони йдуть у довко́лишні села й оселі спочити й здобути поживи, бо ми тут у місці безлю́дному!“

12 And when the day began to wane, his disciples came up and said to him, Dismiss the people, that they may go to the villages around us and to the farms, to lodge there, and find food for themselves; because we are in a lonely place.

13 А Він їм сказав: „Дайте їсти їм ви“. Вони ж відказали: „Немає в нас більше, як п'я́теро хліба й дві рибі. Хіба пі́демо та купимо поживи для всього наро́ду цього́“.

13 Jesus said to them, You give them to eat. But they said, We do not have more than five loaves of bread and two fish; unless we go and buy food for all this people;

14 Бо було чоловіків десь тисяч із п'ять. І сказав Він до у́чнів Своїх: „Розсадіть їх рядами — по п'ятидесяти́“.

14 For there were about five thousand men. Jesus said to them, Make them sit down in groups, fifty men in each group.

15 І зробили отак, і всіх їх розсади́ли.

15 The disciples did so, and made them all sit down.

16 I Він узяв п'ять хлібі́в та дві рибі, споглянув на небо, поблагословив їх, і поламав, і дав учням, щоб клали наро́дові.

16 And Jesus took the five loaves of bread and the two fish, and looked up to heaven, and he blessed them, and broke and gave them to his disciples, to set before the people.

17 І всі їли й наси́тились! А з кусків позосталих зібрали дванадцять коші́в.

17 And they all ate and were filled; and they took up fragments of what was left over, twelve baskets.

18 І сталось, як насамоті Він молився, з Ним учні були́. І спитав Він їх, кажучи: „За кого Мене люди вважають?“

18 While he prayed by himself, and his disciples were with him, he asked them and said, What do the people say concerning me that I am?

19 Вони ж відповіли́ та сказали: „За Івана Христителя, а ті за Іллю́, а інші, — що воскрес один із давніх пророків“.

19 They answered and said to him, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others that one of the old prophets has risen.

20 А Він запитав їх: „А ви за кого Мене маєте?“ Петро ж відповів та сказав: „За Христа Божого!“

20 He said to them, But you, what do you say that I am? Simon answered and said, The Messiah (the anointed one of God).

21 Він же їм заказав, і звелів не казати ніко́му про це.

21 But he cautioned them, and warned them not to say this to anyone.

22 І сказав Він: „Синові Лю́дському треба багато страждати, і Його відцураються старші, і первосвященики, і книжники, і буде Він убитий, — але третього дня Він воскресне!“

23 А до всіх Він промовив: „Коли хоче хто йти вслід за Мною, хай зрече́ться само́го себе, і хай ві́зьме щоденно свого́ хреста, та й за Мною йде.

23 Then he said in the presence of everyone, He who wishes to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross every day and follow me.

24 Бо хто хоче душу свою́ зберегти, той погубить її, а хто ради Мене згубить душу свою́, той її збереже́.

24 For he who wishes to save his life, shall lose it; but he who loses his life for my sake, he shall save it.

25 Яка ж ко́ристь люди́ні, що здобу́де ввесь світ, але́ занапа́стить чи згубить себе?

25 For how can a man be benefited, if he gain the whole world, but lose his own soul, or even weakens it?

26 Бо хто буде Мене та Моєї науки соро́митися, того посоро́миться також Син Лю́дський, як при́йде у славі Своїй, і Отчій, і святих анголі́в.

32 And Simon and those who were with him were heavy with sleep; and when they awoke they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.

33 І сталось, як із Ним розлучались вони, то промовив Петро до Ісуса: „Учителю, добре нам бути отут! Поставмо ж отут три шатра: для Тебе одне, і Мойсею одне, і одне для Іллі!“ Він не знав, що говорить...

33 And when they began to leave him, Simon said to Jesus, Teacher, it is better for us to remain here; and let us make three shelters, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah; but he did not know what he was saying.

34 А як він говорив це, насу́нула хмара та їх заслони́ла. І вони полякались, як стали ті вхо́дити в хмару.

37 And it came to pass the next day, as they came down from the mountain, they were met by many people.

38 And one of the men of that crowd cried out and said, O teacher, I beg you to have mercy on me. I have an only son,

39 А ото дух хапає його, і він нагло кричить, і трясе ним, аж той пі́ну пускає. І, вимучивши він його, насилу відхо́дить.

39 And a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out, and gnashes his teeth and foams; and it hardly leaves him when it has tormented him.

40 І у́чнів Твоїх я благав його вигнати, та вони не змогли“.

40 And I besought your disciples to cast it out; and they could not.

41 А Ісус відповів і промовив: „О, роде невірний й розбе́щений, — доки бу́ду Я з вами, і терпітиму вас? Приведи́ свого сина сюди!“

41 Jesus answered and said, O crooked and faithless generation, how long will I be with you, and preach to you? Bring your son here.

42 А як той іще йшов, де́мон кинув його та затряс. Та Ісус заказав тому духу нечистому, — і вздоро́вив дитину, і віддав її батькові її.

42 And as he brought him, the demon attacked him and convulsed him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him to his father.

43 І всі дивувалися ве́личі Божій! Ісус удруге заповідає Свою смерть А як усі дивувались усьо́му, що чинив був Ісус, Він промовив до у́чнів Своїх:

43 And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. And while every man wondered at everything which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,

44 „Вкладіть до вух своїх ці ось слова: Людський Син буде виданий людям до рук“.

44 Treasure these words in your ears; for the Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men.

45 Проте́ не зрозуміли вони цього слова, було бо закрите від них, щоб його не збагнули, та боялись Його запита́ти про це слово.

45 But they did not understand this word, because it was hidden from them so that they might not know it; and they were afraid to ask him concerning this word.

46 І прийшло їм на думку: хто б найбільший з них був?

46 Then a reasoning entered into their minds, as to who was the greatest among them.

47 А Ісус, думку серця їх знавши, узяв дитину, і поставив її біля Себе.

47 But Jesus knew the reasoning of their heart, and he took a boy and made him stand by him.

48 І промовив до них: „Як хто при́йме дитину оцю в Ім'я́ Моє, Мене він приймає, а як хто Мене при́йме, приймає Того, Хто послав Мене. Хто бо найменший між вами всіма́, — той великий!“

48 And he said to them, Everyone who receives a little boy like this one in my name, receives me; and he who receives me receives him who sent me; for whoever is least among you, let him be great.

49 А Іван відповів і сказав: „Учителю, ми бачили одно́го чоловіка, що Ім'я́м Твоїм де́монів виганяв, і ми заборонили йому, бо він з нами не ходить“.

49 And John answered and said, Teacher, we saw a man casting out demons in your name; and we forbad him, because he did not come with us, as your follower.

50 Ісус же йому́ відказав: „Не забороняйте, — бо хто не проти вас, той за вас!“

50 Jesus said to them, Do not forbid; for he who is not against you is for you.

51 І сталось, коли дні вознесіння Його наближались, Він постановив піти в Єрусалим.

51 And it happened, when the days to go up on his journey were fulfilled, he set his face to go to Jerusalem.

52 І Він посланців вислав перед Собою. І пішли вони, та й прибули́ до села самарянського, щоб ночі́влю Йому пригото́вити.

52 So he sent messengers ahead of him; and they went away and entered into a Samaritan village, to prepare for him.

53 А ті не прийняли Його, бо йшов Він у на́прямі Єрусалиму.

53 But they did not receive him, because his face was set to go straight to Jerusalem.

54 Як побачили ж те учні Яків й Іван, то сказали: „Господи, — хочеш, то ми скажемо, „щоб огонь зійшов з неба та винищив“ їх, як і Ілля був зробив“.

54 When his disciples James and John saw it, they said to him, Our Lord, would you be willing that we command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?

55 А Він оберну́вся до них, їм докорив та й сказав: „Ви не знаєте, якого ви духа.

55 He turned and rebuked them and said, You do not know of what spirit you are.

56 Бо Син Лю́дський прийшов не губи́ть душі лю́дські, а спасати!“ І пішли вони в інше село.

56 For the Son of man did not come to destroy lives, but to save. And they went to another village.

57 І сталось, як дорогою йшли, сказав був до Нього один: „Я піду́ за Тобою, хоч би куди Ти пішов“.

57 And while they were on the journey, a man said to him, My Lord, I will follow you wherever you go.

58 Ісус же йому́ відказав: „Мають но́ри лисиці, а гні́зда — небесні пташки́, — Син же Лю́дський не має ніде́ й голови прихили́ти!“

58 Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the fowl of the sky a shelter; but the Son of man has no place even to lay his head.

59 I промовив до другого Він: „Іди за Мною“. А той відказав: „Дозволь мені перше піти, і батька свого́ похова́ти“.

59 He said to another, Follow me; but he said to him, My Lord, permit me first to go and bury my father.

60 Він же йому відказав: „Зостав мертвим ховати мерці́в своїх. А ти йди та звіщай Царство Боже“.

60 Jesus said to him, Let the dead bury their own dead; but you go and preach the kingdom of God.

61 А інший сказав був: „Господи, я піду́ за Тобою, та дозволь мені перш попрощатись із своїми дома́шніми“.

61 Another one said to him, I will follow you, my Lord; but permit me first to entrust my household to some one, and then come.

62 Ісус же промовив до нього: „Ніхто з тих, хто кладе́ свою руку на плуга та назад озира́ється, не надається до Божого Царства!“

62 Jesus said to him, No man who puts his hand on the plough handle, and looks back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
