1 Після того призна́чив Господь і інших Сімдеся́т, і послав їх по двох перед Себе до кожного міста та місця, куди Сам мав іти.

2 І промовив до них: „Хоч жни́во велике, та робі́тників мало; тож благайте Господаря жни́ва, щоб робі́тників вислав на жни́во Своє.

3 Ідіть! Оце посилаю Я вас, як ягнят між вовки́.

4 Не носіть ні кали́тки, ні торби, ні санда́ль, і не вітайте в дорозі ніко́го.

5 Як до дому ж якого ви вві́йдете, то найперше кажіть: „Мир дому цьому́!“

6 І коли син миру там буде, то спочи́не на ньому ваш мир, коли ж ні — до вас ве́рнеться.

7 Зоставайтеся ж у домі тім самім, споживайте та пийте, що є в них, — бо вартий робі́тник своєї заплати. Не ходіть з дому в дім.

8 А як при́йдете в місто яке, і вас при́ймуть, — споживайте, що вам подадуть.

9 Уздоро́влюйте хворих, що в нім, промовляйте до них: „Набли́зилося Царство Боже до вас!“

10 А як при́йдете в місто яке, і вас не приймуть, то вийдіть на вулиці його та й кажіть:

11 „Ми обтру́шуємо вам навіть порох, що прилип до нас із вашого міста. Та знайте оце, що набли́зилося Ца́рство Боже!“

12 Кажу вам: того дня легше буде содо́млянам, аніж місту тому́!“

13 „Горе тобі, Хоразі́не, горе тобі, Віфсаїдо! Бо коли б то у Тирі й Сидоні були відбули́ся ті чу́да, що сталися в вас, то давно б вони покаялися в волосяни́ці та в попелі!

14 Але на суді відрадніш буде Тиру й Сидону, як вам.

15 А ти, Капернау́ме, що „до неба піднісся, — аж до аду ти зійдеш!“

16 Хто слухає вас — Мене слухає, хто ж погорджує вами — погорджує Мною, хто ж погорджує Мною — погорджує Тим, Хто послав Мене“.

17 А ті Сімдеся́т повернулися з радістю, кажучи: „Господи, — навіть де́мони ко́ряться нам у Ім'я́ Твоє!“

18 Він же промовив до них: „Я бачив того сатану, що з неба спадав, немов блискавка.

19 Ось Я вла́ду вам дав наступати на змій та скорпіо́нів, і на всю силу ворожу, — і ніщо вам не зашко́дить.

20 Та не тіштеся тим, що вам ко́ряться духи, але тіштесь, що ваші ймення записані в небі!“

21 Того ча́су Ісус звеселився був Духом Святим і промовив: „Прославляю Тебе, Отче, Господи неба й землі, що втаїв Ти оце від премудрих і розумних, та його немовлятам відкрив. Так, Отче, бо Тобі так було до вподоби!

22 Передав Мені все Мій Отець. І не знає ніхто, хто є Син, — тільки Отець, і хто Отець — тільки Син, та кому Син захоче відкрити“.

23 І, звернувшись до учнів, наодинці їм сказав: „Блаженні ті очі, що бачать, що́ бачите ви!

24 Кажу ж вам, що багато пророків і царів бажали побачити, що бачите ви — та й не бачили, і почути, що́ чуєте ви — і не чули!“

25 І підвівсь ось зако́нник один, і сказав, Його випробо́вуючи: „Учителю, що́ робити мені, щоб вічне життя осягну́ти?“

26 Він же йому відказав: „Що́ в Зако́ні написано, як ти читаєш?“

27 А той відповів і сказав: „Люби Господа Бога свого́ всім серцем своїм, і всією душею своєю, і всією силою своєю, і всім своїм розумом“, і свого ближнього, як само́го себе“.

28 Він же йому́ відказав: „Правильно ти відповів. Роби це, — і будеш жити“.

29 А той бажав сам себе ви́правдати, та й сказав до Ісуса: „А хто то мій ближній?“

30 А Ісус відповів і промовив: „Один чоловік ішов з Єрусалиму до Єрихо́ну, і попався розбійникам, що обдерли його, і завдали́ йому рани, та й утекли́, покинувши ле́две живого його́.

31 Прохо́див випа́дком тією дорогою священик один, побачив його, — і проминув.

32 Так само й Левит надійшов на те місце, поглянув, — і теж проминув.

33 Прохо́див же там якийсь самаряни́н, та й натра́пив на нього, і, побачивши, змилосе́рдився.

34 І він підійшов, і обв'язав йому рани, наливши оливи й вина. Потому його посадив на худо́бину власну, і приставив його до гостиниці, та й клопота́вся про нього.

35 А другого дня, від'їжджавши, вийняв він два динарії, та й дав їх госпо́дареві й проказав: „Заопікуйся ним, а як більше що витратиш, — заплачу́ тобі, як верну́ся“.

36 Котри́й же з цих трьох — на думку твою — був ближній тому, хто попався розбійникам?“

37 А він відказав: „Той, хто вчинив йому ми́лість“. Ісус же сказав йому: „Іди, — і роби так і ти!“

38 І сталось, коли вони йшли, Він прийшов до одно́го села. Одна ж жінка, Марта їй на ім'я́, прийняла Його в дім свій.

39 Була ж в неї сестра, що звалась Марія; вона сіла в ногах у Ісуса, та й слухала сло́ва Його.

40 А Марта великою по́слугою клопота́лась, а спинившись, сказала: „Господи, чи байду́же Тобі, що на мене саму́ полишила служити сестра моя? Скажи ж їй, щоб мені помогла“.

41 Госпо́дь же промовив у відповідь їй: „Марто, Марто, — турбуєшся й жу́ришся ти про багато чого́,

42 а потрібне одне. Марія ж обрала найкращу ча́стку, яка не відбереться від неї“.

Chapter 10

1 AFTER these things, Jesus selected from his disciples seventy others, and he sent them two by two before his face, to every place and city to which he was to go.

2 And he said to them, The harvest is great, and the laborers are few; ask therefore the owner of the harvest, to bring out laborers to his harvest.

3 Go forth; behold, I send you as lambs among wolves.

4 Do not carry purses, nor bags, nor shoes; and do not salute any man on the road.

5 And to whatever house you enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6 And if a man of peace is there, let your peace rest upon him; and if not, your peace will return to you.

7 Remain in that house, eating and drinking of what they have; for a laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house.

8 And into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat whatever they set before you;

9 And heal those who are sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come near to you.

10 But into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into the street and say,

11 Even the sand of your city which cleaves to our feet, we shake it off to you; but know this that the kingdom of God has come near to you.

12 I say to you, that it will be much easier for Sodom in that day than for that city.

13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, perhaps they might have repented with sackcloth and ashes.

14 But, it will be easier for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment day than for you.

15 And you, Capernaum, which have exalted yourself up to heaven, you will be brought down to Sheol.

16 He who hears you hears me; and he who oppresses you oppresses me; and he who oppresses me oppresses him who sent me.

17 So the seventy whom he had sent returned with great joy, and they said to him, Our Lord, even the demons have submitted to us in your name.

18 He said to them, I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven.

19 Behold, I give you power, to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall harm you.

20 But do not rejoice in this that the demons submit to you; but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

21 At that very hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank you, O my Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you did hide these things from the wise and men of understanding, and did reveal them to children; yes, my Father, for so it was well pleasing in your presence.

22 And he turned to his disciples and said to them, Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no man knows who is the Son, except the Father; and who is the Father except the Son, and to whomever the Son wishes to reveal him.

23 Then he turned to his disciples alone and said, Blessed are the eyes which see what you see.

24 For I say to you, that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

25 And behold, a scribe stood up to test him, and he said, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 Jesus said to him, What is written in the law? how do you read it?

27 He answered and said to him, You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

28 Jesus said to him, You said the truth; do this and you shall live.

29 But as he wanted to justify himself, he said to him, And who is my neighbor?

30 Jesus said to him, There was a man who went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and the bandits attacked him, and robbed him, and beat him, and left him with little life remaining in him, and they went away.

31 And it chanced a priest was going down that road; and he saw him and passed on.

32 And likewise a Levite came and arrived at that place, and saw him and passed on.

33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.

34 And he came to him and bound up his wounds, and poured on them wine and oil; and he put him on his own ass, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him.

35 And in the morning, he took out two pennies and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, when I return, I will give it to you.

36 Who therefore of these three, appears to you, became neighbor to him who fell into the hands of the bandits?

37 He said, The one who had compassion on him. Jesus said to him, You go also, and do the same.

38 And it came to pass while they were journeying, he entered into a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister whose name was Mary, and she came and sat at the feet of our Lord, and listened to his words.

40 But Martha was busy with many household cares, and she came and said to him, My Lord, you do not seem to care that my sister has left me to serve alone? tell her to help me.

41 Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and excited about many things;

42 But one thing is more necessary; and Mary has chosen the good portion for herself, which shall not be taken away from her.

1 Після того призна́чив Господь і інших Сімдеся́т, і послав їх по двох перед Себе до кожного міста та місця, куди Сам мав іти.

1 AFTER these things, Jesus selected from his disciples seventy others, and he sent them two by two before his face, to every place and city to which he was to go.

2 І промовив до них: „Хоч жни́во велике, та робі́тників мало; тож благайте Господаря жни́ва, щоб робі́тників вислав на жни́во Своє.

2 And he said to them, The harvest is great, and the laborers are few; ask therefore the owner of the harvest, to bring out laborers to his harvest.

3 Ідіть! Оце посилаю Я вас, як ягнят між вовки́.

3 Go forth; behold, I send you as lambs among wolves.

4 Не носіть ні кали́тки, ні торби, ні санда́ль, і не вітайте в дорозі ніко́го.

4 Do not carry purses, nor bags, nor shoes; and do not salute any man on the road.

5 Як до дому ж якого ви вві́йдете, то найперше кажіть: „Мир дому цьому́!“

5 And to whatever house you enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

6 І коли син миру там буде, то спочи́не на ньому ваш мир, коли ж ні — до вас ве́рнеться.

6 And if a man of peace is there, let your peace rest upon him; and if not, your peace will return to you.

7 Зоставайтеся ж у домі тім самім, споживайте та пийте, що є в них, — бо вартий робі́тник своєї заплати. Не ходіть з дому в дім.

7 Remain in that house, eating and drinking of what they have; for a laborer is worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving from house to house.

8 А як при́йдете в місто яке, і вас при́ймуть, — споживайте, що вам подадуть.

8 And into whatever city you enter, and they receive you, eat whatever they set before you;

9 Уздоро́влюйте хворих, що в нім, промовляйте до них: „Набли́зилося Царство Боже до вас!“

9 And heal those who are sick in it, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come near to you.

10 А як при́йдете в місто яке, і вас не приймуть, то вийдіть на вулиці його та й кажіть:

10 But into whatever city you enter, and they do not receive you, go out into the street and say,

11 „Ми обтру́шуємо вам навіть порох, що прилип до нас із вашого міста. Та знайте оце, що набли́зилося Ца́рство Боже!“

11 Even the sand of your city which cleaves to our feet, we shake it off to you; but know this that the kingdom of God has come near to you.

12 Кажу вам: того дня легше буде содо́млянам, аніж місту тому́!“

12 I say to you, that it will be much easier for Sodom in that day than for that city.

13 „Горе тобі, Хоразі́не, горе тобі, Віфсаїдо! Бо коли б то у Тирі й Сидоні були відбули́ся ті чу́да, що сталися в вас, то давно б вони покаялися в волосяни́ці та в попелі!

13 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the mighty works which were done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, perhaps they might have repented with sackcloth and ashes.

14 Але на суді відрадніш буде Тиру й Сидону, як вам.

14 But, it will be easier for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment day than for you.

15 А ти, Капернау́ме, що „до неба піднісся, — аж до аду ти зійдеш!“

15 And you, Capernaum, which have exalted yourself up to heaven, you will be brought down to Sheol.

16 Хто слухає вас — Мене слухає, хто ж погорджує вами — погорджує Мною, хто ж погорджує Мною — погорджує Тим, Хто послав Мене“.

16 He who hears you hears me; and he who oppresses you oppresses me; and he who oppresses me oppresses him who sent me.

17 А ті Сімдеся́т повернулися з радістю, кажучи: „Господи, — навіть де́мони ко́ряться нам у Ім'я́ Твоє!“

17 So the seventy whom he had sent returned with great joy, and they said to him, Our Lord, even the demons have submitted to us in your name.

18 Він же промовив до них: „Я бачив того сатану, що з неба спадав, немов блискавка.

18 He said to them, I saw Satan falling like lightning from heaven.

19 Ось Я вла́ду вам дав наступати на змій та скорпіо́нів, і на всю силу ворожу, — і ніщо вам не зашко́дить.

19 Behold, I give you power, to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall harm you.

20 Та не тіштеся тим, що вам ко́ряться духи, але тіштесь, що ваші ймення записані в небі!“

20 But do not rejoice in this that the demons submit to you; but rejoice because your names are written in heaven.

21 Того ча́су Ісус звеселився був Духом Святим і промовив: „Прославляю Тебе, Отче, Господи неба й землі, що втаїв Ти оце від премудрих і розумних, та його немовлятам відкрив. Так, Отче, бо Тобі так було до вподоби!

21 At that very hour, Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank you, O my Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you did hide these things from the wise and men of understanding, and did reveal them to children; yes, my Father, for so it was well pleasing in your presence.

22 Передав Мені все Мій Отець. І не знає ніхто, хто є Син, — тільки Отець, і хто Отець — тільки Син, та кому Син захоче відкрити“.

22 And he turned to his disciples and said to them, Everything has been entrusted to me by my Father; and no man knows who is the Son, except the Father; and who is the Father except the Son, and to whomever the Son wishes to reveal him.

23 І, звернувшись до учнів, наодинці їм сказав: „Блаженні ті очі, що бачать, що́ бачите ви!

23 Then he turned to his disciples alone and said, Blessed are the eyes which see what you see.

24 Кажу ж вам, що багато пророків і царів бажали побачити, що бачите ви — та й не бачили, і почути, що́ чуєте ви — і не чули!“

24 For I say to you, that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.

25 І підвівсь ось зако́нник один, і сказав, Його випробо́вуючи: „Учителю, що́ робити мені, щоб вічне життя осягну́ти?“

25 And behold, a scribe stood up to test him, and he said, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

26 Він же йому відказав: „Що́ в Зако́ні написано, як ти читаєш?“

26 Jesus said to him, What is written in the law? how do you read it?

27 А той відповів і сказав: „Люби Господа Бога свого́ всім серцем своїм, і всією душею своєю, і всією силою своєю, і всім своїм розумом“, і свого ближнього, як само́го себе“.

27 He answered and said to him, You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.

28 Він же йому́ відказав: „Правильно ти відповів. Роби це, — і будеш жити“.

28 Jesus said to him, You said the truth; do this and you shall live.

29 А той бажав сам себе ви́правдати, та й сказав до Ісуса: „А хто то мій ближній?“

29 But as he wanted to justify himself, he said to him, And who is my neighbor?

30 А Ісус відповів і промовив: „Один чоловік ішов з Єрусалиму до Єрихо́ну, і попався розбійникам, що обдерли його, і завдали́ йому рани, та й утекли́, покинувши ле́две живого його́.

30 Jesus said to him, There was a man who went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and the bandits attacked him, and robbed him, and beat him, and left him with little life remaining in him, and they went away.

31 Прохо́див випа́дком тією дорогою священик один, побачив його, — і проминув.

31 And it chanced a priest was going down that road; and he saw him and passed on.

32 Так само й Левит надійшов на те місце, поглянув, — і теж проминув.

32 And likewise a Levite came and arrived at that place, and saw him and passed on.

33 Прохо́див же там якийсь самаряни́н, та й натра́пив на нього, і, побачивши, змилосе́рдився.

33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion on him.

34 І він підійшов, і обв'язав йому рани, наливши оливи й вина. Потому його посадив на худо́бину власну, і приставив його до гостиниці, та й клопота́вся про нього.

34 And he came to him and bound up his wounds, and poured on them wine and oil; and he put him on his own ass, and brought him to the inn, and took care of him.

35 А другого дня, від'їжджавши, вийняв він два динарії, та й дав їх госпо́дареві й проказав: „Заопікуйся ним, а як більше що витратиш, — заплачу́ тобі, як верну́ся“.

35 And in the morning, he took out two pennies and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever you spend more, when I return, I will give it to you.

36 Котри́й же з цих трьох — на думку твою — був ближній тому, хто попався розбійникам?“

36 Who therefore of these three, appears to you, became neighbor to him who fell into the hands of the bandits?

37 А він відказав: „Той, хто вчинив йому ми́лість“. Ісус же сказав йому: „Іди, — і роби так і ти!“

37 He said, The one who had compassion on him. Jesus said to him, You go also, and do the same.

38 І сталось, коли вони йшли, Він прийшов до одно́го села. Одна ж жінка, Марта їй на ім'я́, прийняла Його в дім свій.

38 And it came to pass while they were journeying, he entered into a village; and a woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 Була ж в неї сестра, що звалась Марія; вона сіла в ногах у Ісуса, та й слухала сло́ва Його.

39 And she had a sister whose name was Mary, and she came and sat at the feet of our Lord, and listened to his words.

40 А Марта великою по́слугою клопота́лась, а спинившись, сказала: „Господи, чи байду́же Тобі, що на мене саму́ полишила служити сестра моя? Скажи ж їй, щоб мені помогла“.

40 But Martha was busy with many household cares, and she came and said to him, My Lord, you do not seem to care that my sister has left me to serve alone? tell her to help me.

41 Госпо́дь же промовив у відповідь їй: „Марто, Марто, — турбуєшся й жу́ришся ти про багато чого́,

41 Jesus answered and said to her, Martha, Martha, you are worried and excited about many things;

42 а потрібне одне. Марія ж обрала найкращу ча́стку, яка не відбереться від неї“.

42 But one thing is more necessary; and Mary has chosen the good portion for herself, which shall not be taken away from her.
