Розділ 23

1 Горе па́стирям тим, що розгублюють та розганяють ота́ру Мого пасови́ська, говорить Господь!

2 Тому так промовляє Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, про па́стирів тих, що пасуть Мій наро́д: Ви ота́ру Мою розпоро́шили й їх розігна́ли, та не наглядали за ними. Ось тому покараю Я вас за лихі ваші вчинки, говорить Госпо́дь!

3 А Я позбираю останок ота́ри Своєї зо всіх тих країв, куди́ Я їх повиганя́в був, і їх поверну́ на пасо́виська їхні, і вони порозпло́джуються та розмно́жаться.

4 І над ними поставлю Я па́стирів тих, які па́стимуть їх, і не будуть боятися вже й не злякаються, і не будуть загу́блені, каже Госпо́дь!

5 Ось дні наступають, — говорить Господь, — і поставлю Давидові праведну Па́рость, і Цар зацарю́є, і буде Він мудрий, — і правосу́ддя та правду в Краю́ запрова́дить.

6 За днів Його Юда спасе́ться, Ізраїль же буде безпечний. А це Його Йме́ння, яким Його кликати будуть: „Господь — праведність наша“.

7 Тому наступають ось дні, — говорить Господь, — і не будуть уже говорити: „Як живий Господь, що вивів синів Ізраїлевих із краю єгипетського“,

8 а тільки: „Як живий Господь, що вивів і ви́провадив насіння дому Ізраїлевого з півні́чного кра́ю, і зо всіх тих країв, куди їх був повиганя́в“! І ося́дуть вони на своїй землі.

9 Про пророків. Розривається серце моє в моїм нутрі, тріпо́чуть всі ко́сті мої, я став, як п'яни́й, як той муж, що по ньому вино перейшло́, через Господа й ради святих Його слів,

10 Бо земля перелю́бниками стала по́вна, бо через прокля́ття потра́пила в жало́бу земля, повисиха́ли в степа́х пасови́ська, бо стався лихим їхній біг, їхня сила — це кривда.

11 Бо й пророк та священик гріша́ть, — їхнє зло Я знайшов теж у домі Своїм, говорить Госпо́дь.

12 Тому буде для них їхня доро́га, мов ско́взанка в те́мряві, вони бу́дуть попхне́ні й впаду́ть через неї, бо зло Я спрова́джу на них ро́ку наві́щення їх, говорить Господь.

13 А в тих самарійських пророків Я бачив безглу́здя, — вони пророкували Ваа́лом собі, і вчинили блудя́чим наро́д Мій, Ізраїля!

14 А в єрусалимських пророків Я бачив гидо́ту: перелю́бство й ходіння в неправді, і руки злочинців зміцни́ли вони, щоб ніхто з свого зла не верну́вся. Всі вони Мені стали, немов той Содо́м, а мешканці його, як Гомо́ра.

15 Тому так промовляє Господь Савао́т про пророків оцих: Ось Я їх полино́м нагоду́ю, і водою отру́йною їх напо́ю, бо від єрусалимських пророків безбожність пішла для всієї землі!

16 Так говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т: Не слухайте слів цих пророків, що вам пророку́ють, — вони роблять безглу́здими вас, висло́влюють при́види серця свого́, а не слово з уст Господніх.

17 Вони справді говорять до тих, що Мене обража́ють: „Господь говорив: Мир вам бу́де!“ А кожному, хто ходить в упе́ртості серця свого, говорять вони: „Зло не при́йде на вас!“

18 А хто ж то стояв на таємній Господній нара́ді, і бачив та чув Його слово? Хто до сло́ва Його прислуха́вся й почув?

19 Ось буря Господня, як лютість, вихо́дить, а вихор крутли́вий на голову несправедливих впаде́.

20 Гнів Господній не ве́рнеться, поки не зробить, і поки не ви́конає Він за́мірів серця Свого́; напри́кінці днів зрозумієте добре все це!

21 Цих пророків Я не посилав, — вони побігли самі, Я їм не говорив, — та вони пророкують.

22 А якби́ в Моїй раді таємній стояли вони, то вони об'являли б наро́дові Моєму слова Мої, і їх відверта́ли б від їхньої злої дороги, та від зла їхніх учи́нків.

23 Чи Я Бог тільки збли́зька, — говорить Господь, — а не Бог і здале́ка?

24 Якщо заховається хто у криї́вках, то Я не побачу Його? говорить Господь. Чи Я неба й землі не напо́внюю? каже Господь.

25 Я чув, що́ говорять пророки, що Йме́нням Моїм пророкують неправду й говорять: „Мені снилося, снилось мені!“

26 Як довго це буде у серці пророків, які пророкують неправду, та пророкують ома́ну свого серця?

27 Вони замишляють зробити, щоб наро́д Мій забув Моє Йме́ння, їхніми снами, які один о́дному розповідають, як через Ваа́ла забули були́ їхні батьки́ Моє Йме́ння.

28 Той пророк, що йому снився сон, нехай розповіда́є про сон, а з яким Моє слово, хай каже про слово правдиве Моє, — що соломі до збіжжя? говорить Господь.

29 Хіба слово Моє не таке, як огонь, — говорить Господь, — і як мо́лот, що скелю розлу́пує?

30 Тому́ то ось Я на пророків, — говорить Госпо́дь, — що слова́ Мої кра́дуть один від одно́го.

31 Ось Я на пророків, — говорить Госпо́дь, — що вживають свого язика́, але кажуть: Це мова Господня!

32 Оце Я на тих, що сни неправдиві звіщають, — говорить Господь, — вони розповідають про них та впрова́джують в блуд Мій наро́д своєю неправдою й глу́мом своїм, хоч Я не посилав їх і їм не наказував, і вони помогти́ — не помо́жуть наро́дові цьому́, говорить Господь.

33 А коли запитає тебе цей наро́д, чи пророк, чи священик, говорячи: „Яке то Господнє пророцтво?“ то скажеш до них: „Ви тяга́р, — і Я вас поскида́ю“, говорить Господь.

34 А пророка й священика та той наро́д, який скаже: „Господній тяга́р“, — то Я мужа того й його дім покара́ю!

35 Отак скажете ви один о́дному й кожен до брата свого: „Що Господь відповів“, й „що Господь говорив?“

36 А про „Господній тяга́р“ не згадуйте більш, бо кожному слово його стане за тягара́, і ви перекрути́ли б слова Бога Живого, Господа Савао́та, нашого Бога.

37 Так пророкові скажеш: „Що́ Господь тобі відповів“, і „Що́ Господь говорив?“

38 Якщо ж будете ви говорити: „Господній тяга́р“, тому так промовляє Госпо́дь: За те, що ви кажете слово оце: „Господній тяга́р“, хоч Я посилав до вас, ка́жучи: Не говоріте „Господній тяга́р“,

39 тому конче Я вас підійму́, немо́в тягара́, та й викину вас і те місто, що дав був Я вам та вашим батька́м, від Свого лиця.

40 І дам Я на вас сором вічний та вічну ганьбу, що не буде забута!

Jeremiah

Chapter 23

1 WOE to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! says the LORD.

2 Therefore thus speaks the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and have caused them to go astray, and have not visited them; behold, I will punish you according to your evil doings, says the LORD.

3 And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase.

4 And I will set shepherds over them who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be scattered nor shall they go astray, says the LORD.

5 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Heir, and he shall reign over the kingdom with understanding, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

6 In his days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell securely; and this is the name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

7 Therefore, the days are coming, says the LORD, when it shall never be said again, The LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

8 But, The LORD lives, who brought up and led the house of Israel out of the north country and from all the countries where they had been scattered; and they shall dwell in their own land.

9 My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man and like a man who is overcome by wine, because of the presence of the LORD and because of the words of his holiness.

10 For the land is full of adulterers and robbers; because of these men the land mourns and the pastures of the shepherds in the wilderness are dried up, and their yield has been poor, and they did not flourish.

11 For both prophets and priests have become pagans; yea, even in my house have I found their wickedness, says the LORD.

12 Therefore their ways shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in them; for I will bring evil upon them, even the year of their punishment, says the LORD.

13 And I have seen falsehood in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal and caused my people Israel to err.

14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem folly; they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen also the hands of their friends, so that no one turns from his evil way; they are all of them to me like Sodom, and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.

15 Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold. I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink bitter water; for from the prophets of Jerusalem paganism has gone forth throughout all the land.

16 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Do not hearken to the words of the false prophets who prophesy to you and mislead you; they tell a vision of the imagination of their own hearts, and not from the mouth of the LORD.

17 They say still to those who provoke me, The LORD has said, You shall have peace; and they say to every one who walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD and has seen him and heard his word? or who has given ear to his word and heard him?

19 Behold, the punishment of the LORD is gone forth in fury, and the punishment will kindle; it shall fall upon the head of the wicked.

20 The wrathful indignation of the LORD shall not turn back until he has executed his devices, and till he has performed the thoughts of his mind; in the latter days you shall discern it perfectly.

21 I have not sent these prophets, yet they have gone forth; I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

22 But if they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words, then they would have turned them from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings.

23 I am the God who is near, says the LORD God, and not a God afar off.

24 If any man should hide himself in secret places, I will see him, says the LORD; behold, heaven and earth are filled with me, says the LORD of hosts.

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed a dream.

26 How long shall there be in the mouth of the false prophets, prophecies of lies? prophecies of the deceit of their own heart?

27 Who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name and served Baal.

28 The prophet who sees a dream, let him tell a dream; but he who has my words, let him speak my words faithfully. Why do you mix chaff with the wheat? says the LORD.

29 Behold, my words issue like a fire, says the LORD, and like a hammer which breaks the rock in pieces.

30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who steal my words, every one from his neighbor.

31 Behold, I am against the prophets, says the LORD, who pervert their tongues, and say, Thus says the LORD.

32 Behold, I am against the prophets who see false dreams, says the LORD, and tell them, and lead my people astray by their lies and their wantonness; yet I did not command them nor send them; so they do not profit this people at all.

33 land when this people, or a prophet or a priest, shall ask you, and say to you, What is the word of the LORD? you shall say to them, This is the word of the LORD: I will utterly uproot you, says the LORD.

34 And as for the prophet or the priest or the people who shall speak the word of the LORD, I will punish that man and his house.

35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother: What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?

36 And the words of the LORD you shall mention no more; for every man's word shall be to him his prophecy, for you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

37 Thus shall you say to that person: What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?

38 But if you speak the word of the LORD, therefore, thus says the LORD: Because you have said this word, The words of the LORD, and I have sent you, saying, You shall not say, The words of the LORD;

39 Therefore, behold, I will surely remove you, and I will cast you away, both you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers;

40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.

1 Горе па́стирям тим, що розгублюють та розганяють ота́ру Мого пасови́ська, говорить Господь!

2 Тому так промовляє Господь, Бог Ізраїлів, про па́стирів тих, що пасуть Мій наро́д: Ви ота́ру Мою розпоро́шили й їх розігна́ли, та не наглядали за ними. Ось тому покараю Я вас за лихі ваші вчинки, говорить Госпо́дь!

3 А Я позбираю останок ота́ри Своєї зо всіх тих країв, куди́ Я їх повиганя́в був, і їх поверну́ на пасо́виська їхні, і вони порозпло́джуються та розмно́жаться.

4 І над ними поставлю Я па́стирів тих, які па́стимуть їх, і не будуть боятися вже й не злякаються, і не будуть загу́блені, каже Госпо́дь!

4 And I will set shepherds over them who shall feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be scattered nor shall they go astray, says the LORD.

5 Ось дні наступають, — говорить Господь, — і поставлю Давидові праведну Па́рость, і Цар зацарю́є, і буде Він мудрий, — і правосу́ддя та правду в Краю́ запрова́дить.

5 Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will raise up for David a righteous Heir, and he shall reign over the kingdom with understanding, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land.

6 За днів Його Юда спасе́ться, Ізраїль же буде безпечний. А це Його Йме́ння, яким Його кликати будуть: „Господь — праведність наша“.

6 In his days Judah shall be saved and Israel shall dwell securely; and this is the name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.

7 Тому наступають ось дні, — говорить Господь, — і не будуть уже говорити: „Як живий Господь, що вивів синів Ізраїлевих із краю єгипетського“,

7 Therefore, the days are coming, says the LORD, when it shall never be said again, The LORD lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;

8 а тільки: „Як живий Господь, що вивів і ви́провадив насіння дому Ізраїлевого з півні́чного кра́ю, і зо всіх тих країв, куди їх був повиганя́в“! І ося́дуть вони на своїй землі.

8 But, The LORD lives, who brought up and led the house of Israel out of the north country and from all the countries where they had been scattered; and they shall dwell in their own land.

9 Про пророків. Розривається серце моє в моїм нутрі, тріпо́чуть всі ко́сті мої, я став, як п'яни́й, як той муж, що по ньому вино перейшло́, через Господа й ради святих Його слів,

9 My heart is broken within me because of the prophets; all my bones shake; I am like a drunken man and like a man who is overcome by wine, because of the presence of the LORD and because of the words of his holiness.

10 Бо земля перелю́бниками стала по́вна, бо через прокля́ття потра́пила в жало́бу земля, повисиха́ли в степа́х пасови́ська, бо стався лихим їхній біг, їхня сила — це кривда.

13 And I have seen falsehood in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied by Baal and caused my people Israel to err.

14 А в єрусалимських пророків Я бачив гидо́ту: перелю́бство й ходіння в неправді, і руки злочинців зміцни́ли вони, щоб ніхто з свого зла не верну́вся. Всі вони Мені стали, немов той Содо́м, а мешканці його, як Гомо́ра.

14 I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem folly; they commit adultery and walk in lies; they strengthen also the hands of their friends, so that no one turns from his evil way; they are all of them to me like Sodom, and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.

15 Тому так промовляє Господь Савао́т про пророків оцих: Ось Я їх полино́м нагоду́ю, і водою отру́йною їх напо́ю, бо від єрусалимських пророків безбожність пішла для всієї землі!

16 Так говорить Госпо́дь Савао́т: Не слухайте слів цих пророків, що вам пророку́ють, — вони роблять безглу́здими вас, висло́влюють при́види серця свого́, а не слово з уст Господніх.

16 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Do not hearken to the words of the false prophets who prophesy to you and mislead you; they tell a vision of the imagination of their own hearts, and not from the mouth of the LORD.

17 Вони справді говорять до тих, що Мене обража́ють: „Господь говорив: Мир вам бу́де!“ А кожному, хто ходить в упе́ртості серця свого, говорять вони: „Зло не при́йде на вас!“

17 They say still to those who provoke me, The LORD has said, You shall have peace; and they say to every one who walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.

18 А хто ж то стояв на таємній Господній нара́ді, і бачив та чув Його слово? Хто до сло́ва Його прислуха́вся й почув?

18 For who has stood in the counsel of the LORD and has seen him and heard his word? or who has given ear to his word and heard him?

19 Ось буря Господня, як лютість, вихо́дить, а вихор крутли́вий на голову несправедливих впаде́.

19 Behold, the punishment of the LORD is gone forth in fury, and the punishment will kindle; it shall fall upon the head of the wicked.

20 Гнів Господній не ве́рнеться, поки не зробить, і поки не ви́конає Він за́мірів серця Свого́; напри́кінці днів зрозумієте добре все це!

21 Цих пророків Я не посилав, — вони побігли самі, Я їм не говорив, — та вони пророкують.

22 А якби́ в Моїй раді таємній стояли вони, то вони об'являли б наро́дові Моєму слова Мої, і їх відверта́ли б від їхньої злої дороги, та від зла їхніх учи́нків.

22 But if they had stood in my counsel and had caused my people to hear my words, then they would have turned them from their evil ways and from the evil of their doings.

23 Чи Я Бог тільки збли́зька, — говорить Господь, — а не Бог і здале́ка?

23 I am the God who is near, says the LORD God, and not a God afar off.

24 Якщо заховається хто у криї́вках, то Я не побачу Його? говорить Господь. Чи Я неба й землі не напо́внюю? каже Господь.

24 If any man should hide himself in secret places, I will see him, says the LORD; behold, heaven and earth are filled with me, says the LORD of hosts.

25 Я чув, що́ говорять пророки, що Йме́нням Моїм пророкують неправду й говорять: „Мені снилося, снилось мені!“

25 I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed a dream.

26 Як довго це буде у серці пророків, які пророкують неправду, та пророкують ома́ну свого серця?

26 How long shall there be in the mouth of the false prophets, prophecies of lies? prophecies of the deceit of their own heart?

27 Вони замишляють зробити, щоб наро́д Мій забув Моє Йме́ння, їхніми снами, які один о́дному розповідають, як через Ваа́ла забули були́ їхні батьки́ Моє Йме́ння.

27 Who think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbor, as their fathers forgot my name and served Baal.

28 Той пророк, що йому снився сон, нехай розповіда́є про сон, а з яким Моє слово, хай каже про слово правдиве Моє, — що соломі до збіжжя? говорить Господь.

32 Оце Я на тих, що сни неправдиві звіщають, — говорить Господь, — вони розповідають про них та впрова́джують в блуд Мій наро́д своєю неправдою й глу́мом своїм, хоч Я не посилав їх і їм не наказував, і вони помогти́ — не помо́жуть наро́дові цьому́, говорить Господь.

32 Behold, I am against the prophets who see false dreams, says the LORD, and tell them, and lead my people astray by their lies and their wantonness; yet I did not command them nor send them; so they do not profit this people at all.

33 А коли запитає тебе цей наро́д, чи пророк, чи священик, говорячи: „Яке то Господнє пророцтво?“ то скажеш до них: „Ви тяга́р, — і Я вас поскида́ю“, говорить Господь.

33 land when this people, or a prophet or a priest, shall ask you, and say to you, What is the word of the LORD? you shall say to them, This is the word of the LORD: I will utterly uproot you, says the LORD.

34 А пророка й священика та той наро́д, який скаже: „Господній тяга́р“, — то Я мужа того й його дім покара́ю!

34 And as for the prophet or the priest or the people who shall speak the word of the LORD, I will punish that man and his house.

35 Отак скажете ви один о́дному й кожен до брата свого: „Що Господь відповів“, й „що Господь говорив?“

35 Thus shall you say every one to his neighbor, and every one to his brother: What has the LORD answered? and, What has the LORD spoken?

36 А про „Господній тяга́р“ не згадуйте більш, бо кожному слово його стане за тягара́, і ви перекрути́ли б слова Бога Живого, Господа Савао́та, нашого Бога.

36 And the words of the LORD you shall mention no more; for every man's word shall be to him his prophecy, for you pervert the words of the living God, the LORD of hosts, our God.

37 Так пророкові скажеш: „Що́ Господь тобі відповів“, і „Що́ Господь говорив?“

37 Thus shall you say to that person: What has the LORD answered you? and, What has the LORD spoken?

38 Якщо ж будете ви говорити: „Господній тяга́р“, тому так промовляє Госпо́дь: За те, що ви кажете слово оце: „Господній тяга́р“, хоч Я посилав до вас, ка́жучи: Не говоріте „Господній тяга́р“,

38 But if you speak the word of the LORD, therefore, thus says the LORD: Because you have said this word, The words of the LORD, and I have sent you, saying, You shall not say, The words of the LORD;

39 тому конче Я вас підійму́, немо́в тягара́, та й викину вас і те місто, що дав був Я вам та вашим батька́м, від Свого лиця.

39 Therefore, behold, I will surely remove you, and I will cast you away, both you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers;

40 І дам Я на вас сором вічний та вічну ганьбу, що не буде забута!

40 And I will bring an everlasting reproach upon you, and a perpetual shame which shall not be forgotten.
