Deuteronomy

Chapter 32

1 GIVE ear, O heavens, and I will speak; and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.

2 My word shall drop as rain, my speech shall fall as dew, as the gentle wind upon the tender herbs, and as the showers upon the grass;

3 For I will call upon the name of the LORD; ascribe majesty to our God, the Mighty One.

4 For his works are perfect; and all his ways are just; he is a faithful God and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

5 They have corrupted themselves, and they are not his children because of blemish; they are a perverse and crooked generation.

6 Are these the things that you return unto the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your father who has redeemed you? Has he not made you and established you?

7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.

8 When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated mankind, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

9 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste and howling wilderness; he made him to settle down, he loved him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

11 As an eagle encircles his nest, fluttering over his young, spreading out its wings, taking them, bearing them on the strength of his wings;

12 So the LORD alone did lead Israel, and there was no strange god with him.

13 He made him to dwell in a fertile land, and fed him with the produce of the field; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock and oil out of the flinty rock;

14 And gave him butter of cows and milk of sheep, with fat of fatlings and rams of the breed of rock-goats and goats, with the fat and the best wheat; and he gave him wine to drink, and of the juices of grapes.

15 And Israel grew fat and kicked; he became rich and mighty, he gained wealth; then he forsook God who made him, and reviled the Mighty One who had saved him.

16 They provoked him to zealousness with strange gods, they made him angry with idols.

17 They sacrificed to demons that were not gods; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that were just made. whom your fathers had never worshipped.

18 But you forsook the Mighty One who bore you, and you forgot the God who made you glorious.

19 And the LORD saw it, and was angry, because his sons and daughters provoked him.

20 And he said, I will turn away my face from them, I will see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faith.

21 They have provoked me to zealousness with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their idols; so I will move them to jealousy with those that are not my people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

22 For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest parts of Sheol, and shall consume the earth and its increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend my arrows upon them.

24 They shall be disabled with hunger, and I will deliver them to evil spirits, and I will deliver them to vultures; I will also stir up wild beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents which creep in the dust.

25 Outside the sword shall bereave, and terror in inner chambers shall destroy both the young men and the virgins, the suckling also with the men of gray hairs.

26 And I said, Where are they? I would blot out the memory of them from among men.

27 Had it not been for the wrath of the enemy, who had become strong, and had it not been for the boasting of the adversary, who would say, It is our hand that has prevailed, and the LORD has not done all this, I would have blotted them out.

28 For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.

29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Mighty One had delivered them to their enemies, and the LORD had hemmed them in?

31 For their strength is not as our strength, even our enemies themselves being judges.

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are bitter grapes, the clusters are gall to them;

33 Their venom is the venom of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up in my treasures?

35 To me belongs vengeance, and I will recompense them at the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their destruction is at hand, and the misfortune that shall come upon them makes haste.

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and be consoled for his servants, because he will see that their power is gone, and there is none to help or sustain.

37 And he shall say, Where are their mighty gods, those in whom they trusted,

38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them now rise up and help you, let them be your protection.

39 See now that I. even I. am he, and there is no god besides me; I cause men to die, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; and there is none that can escape out of my hands.

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven and say, I live for ever.

41 I will whet my glittering sword as the lightning, and my hand shall take hold of judgment; I will render vengeance on those that hate me, and cause my enemies to surrender.

42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh, with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the crown of the head of the enemy.

43 Therefore praise his people, O you nations; for the blood of his servants shall be avenged, and he will take vengeance upon his adversaries, and will give absolution to his land and to his people.

44 And Moses came and recited all the words of this song before the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.

45 And when Moses had finished reciting all these words to all Israel,

46 He said to them, Set your hearts to all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to do, all the words of this law.

47 For it is not a vain thing for you, because it is your life; and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land which you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

48 And the LORD spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

49 Go up into this mountain of the Abraye, into mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over toward Jericho; and view the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel as a possession:

50 And die on the mountain which you ascend, and be gathered to your people; as Aaron your brother died on mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

51 Because you transgressed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Mesotha which is at Rakim, in the wilderness of Zin; because you did not sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.

52 Yet you shall see the land before you, which I give to the children of Israel; but you shall not enter there.

6 Are these the things that you return unto the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is he not your father who has redeemed you? Has he not made you and established you?

7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.

8 When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated mankind, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

9 For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste and howling wilderness; he made him to settle down, he loved him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.

12 So the LORD alone did lead Israel, and there was no strange god with him.

15 And Israel grew fat and kicked; he became rich and mighty, he gained wealth; then he forsook God who made him, and reviled the Mighty One who had saved him.

16 Богами чуждыми2114 они раздражили7065 Его и мерзостями8441 разгневали3707 Его:

16 They provoked him to zealousness with strange gods, they made him angry with idols.

17 приносили2076 жертвы2076 бесам,7700 а не Богу,433 богам,430 которых они не знали,3045 новым,2319 которые пришли935 от соседей7138 и о которых не помышляли8175 отцы1 ваши.

17 They sacrificed to demons that were not gods; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that were just made. whom your fathers had never worshipped.

18 But you forsook the Mighty One who bore you, and you forgot the God who made you glorious.

19 Господь3068 увидел,7200 и в негодовании3708 пренебрег5006 сынов1121 Своих и дочерей1323 Своих,

19 And the LORD saw it, and was angry, because his sons and daughters provoked him.

20 и сказал:559 сокрою5641 лице6440 Мое от них и увижу,7200 какой будет конец319 их; ибо они род1755 развращенный;8419 дети,1121 в которых нет верности;529

20 And he said, I will turn away my face from them, I will see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faith.

21 они раздражили7065 Меня не3808 богом,410 суетными1892 своими огорчили3707 Меня: и Я раздражу7065 их не народом,5971 народом1471 бессмысленным5036 огорчу3707 их;

21 They have provoked me to zealousness with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their idols; so I will move them to jealousy with those that are not my people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

22 ибо огонь784 возгорелся6919 во гневе639 Моем, жжет3344 до ада7585 преисподнего,8482 и поядает398 землю776 и произведения2981 ее, и попаляет3857 основания4144 гор;2022

22 For a fire is kindled in my anger, and shall burn to the lowest parts of Sheol, and shall consume the earth and its increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

23 соберу5595 на них бедствия7451 и истощу3615 на них стрелы2671 Мои:

23 I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend my arrows upon them.

32 Ибо виноград1612 их от виноградной1612 лозы1612 Содомской5467 и с полей7709 Гоморрских;6017 ягоды6025 их ягоды6025 ядовитые,7219 грозды811 их горькие;4846

32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are bitter grapes, the clusters are gall to them;

33 вино3196 их яд2534 драконов8577 и гибельная393 отрава7219 аспидов.6620

33 Their venom is the venom of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps.

34 Не сокрыто3647 ли это у Меня? не запечатано2856 ли в хранилищах214 Моих?

34 Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up in my treasures?

35 У Меня отмщение5359 и воздаяние,8005 когда6256 поколеблется4131 нога7272 их; ибо близок7138 день3117 погибели343 их, скоро2363 наступит6264 уготованное для них.

35 To me belongs vengeance, and I will recompense them at the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their destruction is at hand, and the misfortune that shall come upon them makes haste.

36 Но Господь3068 будет1777 судить1777 народ5971 Свой и над рабами5650 Своими умилосердится,5162 когда Он увидит,7200 что рука3027 их ослабела,235 и не657 стало657 ни заключенных,6113 ни оставшихся5800 вне.

36 For the LORD shall judge his people, and be consoled for his servants, because he will see that their power is gone, and there is none to help or sustain.

37 Тогда скажет559 Господь: где боги430 их, твердыня,6697 на которую они надеялись,2620

37 And he shall say, Where are their mighty gods, those in whom they trusted,

38 которые ели398 тук2459 жертв2077 их и пили8354 вино3196 возлияний5257 их? пусть они восстанут6965 и помогут5826 вам, пусть будут для вас покровом!5643

38 Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them now rise up and help you, let them be your protection.

39 Видите7200 ныне, что это Я, Я — и нет Бога,430 кроме Меня: Я умерщвляю4191 и оживляю,2421 Я поражаю4272 и Я исцеляю,7495 и никто не избавит5337 от руки3027 Моей.

39 See now that I. even I. am he, and there is no god besides me; I cause men to die, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal; and there is none that can escape out of my hands.

40 Я подъемлю5375 к небесам8064 руку3027 Мою и говорю:559 живу2416 Я во век!5769

40 For I lift up my hand to heaven and say, I live for ever.

41 Когда изострю8150 сверкающий1300 меч2719 Мой, и рука3027 Моя приимет270 суд,4941 то отмщу77255359 врагам6862 Моим и ненавидящим8130 Меня воздам;7999

41 I will whet my glittering sword as the lightning, and my hand shall take hold of judgment; I will render vengeance on those that hate me, and cause my enemies to surrender.

42 упою7937 стрелы2671 Мои кровью,1818 и меч2719 Мой насытится398 плотью,1320 кровью1818 убитых2491 и пленных,7633 головами7218 начальников6546 врага.341

42 I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh, with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the crown of the head of the enemy.

43 Веселитесь,7442 язычники,1471 с народом5971 Его; ибо Он отмстит5358 за кровь1818 рабов5650 Своих, и воздаст7725 мщение5359 врагам6862 Своим, и очистит3722 землю127 Свою и народ5971 Свой!

43 Therefore praise his people, O you nations; for the blood of his servants shall be avenged, and he will take vengeance upon his adversaries, and will give absolution to his land and to his people.

44 И пришел935 Моисей4872 к народу и изрек1696 все слова1697 песни7892 сей вслух241 народа,5971 он и Иисус,1954 сын1121 Навин.5126

44 And Moses came and recited all the words of this song before the people, he and Joshua the son of Nun.

45 Когда Моисей4872 изрек1696 все3615 слова1697 сии всему Израилю,3478

45 And when Moses had finished reciting all these words to all Israel,

46 тогда сказал559 им: положите7760 на сердце3824 ваше все слова,1697 которые я объявил5749 вам сегодня,3117 и завещавайте6680 их детям1121 своим, чтобы они старались8104 исполнять6213 все слова1697 закона8451 сего;

46 He said to them, Set your hearts to all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to do, all the words of this law.

47 ибо это1697 не пустое7386 для вас, но это жизнь2416 ваша, и чрез это1697 вы долгое748 время3117 пробудете748 на той земле,127 в которую вы идете5674 чрез5674 Иордан,3383 чтоб овладеть3423 ею.

47 For it is not a vain thing for you, because it is your life; and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land which you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

48 И говорил1696 Господь3068 Моисею4872 в тот6106 же самый день3117 и сказал:559

48 And the LORD spoke to Moses that same day, saying,

49 взойди5927 на сию гору2022 Аварим,5682 на гору2022 Нево,5015 которая в земле776 Моавитской,4124 против59216440 Иерихона,3405 и посмотри7200 на землю776 Ханаанскую,3667 которую я даю5414 во владение272 сынам1121 Израилевым;3478

49 Go up into this mountain of the Abraye, into mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over toward Jericho; and view the land of Canaan, which I give to the children of Israel as a possession:

50 и умри4191 на горе,2022 на которую ты взойдешь,5927 и приложись622 к народу5971 твоему, как умер4191 Аарон,175 брат251 твой, на горе2022 Ор,2023 и приложился622 к народу5971 своему,

50 And die on the mountain which you ascend, and be gathered to your people; as Aaron your brother died on mount Hor, and was gathered to his people:

51 за то, что вы согрешили4603 против Меня среди8432 сынов1121 Израилевых3478 при водах4325 Меривы4808 в Кадесе,6946 в пустыне4057 Син,6790 за то, что не явили6942 святости6942 Моей среди8432 сынов1121 Израилевых;3478

51 Because you transgressed against me among the children of Israel at the waters of Mesotha which is at Rakim, in the wilderness of Zin; because you did not sanctify me in the midst of the children of Israel.

52 пред собою ты увидишь7200 землю,776 а не войдешь935 туда, в землю,776 которую Я даю5414 сынам1121 Израилевым.3478

52 Yet you shall see the land before you, which I give to the children of Israel; but you shall not enter there.
