Глава 5

1 Немного позже наступил иудейский праздник, и Иисус направился в Иерусалим.

2 Там у Овечьих ворот есть купальня, называемая по-еврейски Вифезда, с пятью крытыми колоннадами.

3 Под ними обычно лежало множество больных: слепых, хромых и парализованных, [они ждали, когда вода придёт в движение].

4 [Время от времени Ангел Господний нисходил к купальне и приводил воду в движение. Тогда первый человек, который входил в купальню, чем бы он ни болел, выздоравливал].

5 И был среди них один человек, который был болен тридцать восемь лет.

6 Когда Иисус увидел его лежащим там и узнал, что он болен столь долгое время, то спросил: «Хочешь ли ты быть здоровым?»

7 Больной ответил: «Господин, у меня нет никого, кто мог бы помочь мне сойти в воду, когда она начинает бурлить. Когда я пытаюсь спуститься к воде, кто-нибудь всегда опережает меня».

8 Иисус сказал ему: «Встань, подбери свою постель и ходи».

9 И в тот же миг больной исцелился, подобрал свою постель и пошёл. Всё это произошло в субботний день.

10 Поэтому иудейские предводители стали говорить исцелённому: «Сегодня суббота, закон не разрешает тебе подбирать свою постель».

11 А он ответил: «Человек, исцеливший меня, сказал: „Подбери свою постель и ходи”».

12 Иудейские предводители спросили его: «Кто Тот Человек, Который сказал тебе: „Подбери свою постель и ходи”?»

13 Но исцелённый не знал, Кто это был, так как там была толпа народа, а Иисус незаметно ушёл оттуда.

14 Потом Иисус нашёл его во дворе храма и обратился к нему с такими словами: «Вот, ты теперь здоров. Больше не греши, чтобы не случилось с тобой чего похуже».

15 Тот человек пошёл и рассказал иудейским предводителям, что это Иисус исцелил его.

16 И те стали преследовать Иисуса, так как Он совершал такие дела в субботу.

17 Иисус сказал им: «Мой Отец всегда занят делом, поэтому и Я занят делом».

18 За этот ответ иудейские предводители ещё упорнее стали искать случай убить Иисуса, потому что Он не только нарушил закон о субботе, но ещё и назвал Бога Своим Отцом, приравнивая тем самым Себя к Богу.

19 Иисус же сказал им: «Истинно вам говорю, что Сын ничего не может совершить по Своей воле, Он делает лишь то, что, как Он видит, делает Отец. Что делает Отец, то и Сын Его делает.

20 Отец любит Сына и показывает Ему всё, что совершает. Он откроет Ему ещё большие дела, чем эти, и вы удивитесь.

21 Подобно тому как Отец воскрешает мёртвых и даёт жизнь, так и Сын даёт жизнь тому, кому пожелает.

22 Отец никого не судит, но передал суд в руки Сына,

23 чтобы все стали почитать Сына так же, как почитают Отца. Тот, кто не почитает Сына, не почитает и пославшего Его Отца.

24 Истинно вам говорю: кто услышит Мои слова и поверит в Пославшего Меня, обретёт вечную жизнь и не будет осуждён, потому что уже перешёл от смерти к жизни.

25 Истинно вам говорю, что приближается время, и оно уже настало, когда мёртвые услышат голос Сына Божьего, и каждый, кто услышит его, будет жить.

26 Отец — источник жизни, и Сыну Он позволил быть источником жизни.

27 Он дал Ему власть быть судьёй, потому что Он — Иисус, Сын Человеческий.

28 Не удивляйтесь этому, потому что приближается время, когда все лежащие в могилах услышат голос Сына Человеческого

29 и восстанут из могил. Те, кто творили добро, воскреснут, чтобы жить, те же, кто делали зло, воскреснут, чтобы быть судимыми.

30 Я ничего не могу сделать Сам от Себя. Я сужу только так, как велит Мне Бог, и суд Мой праведен, потому что Я стремлюсь к исполнению не того, что Я хочу, а лишь того, что угодно Пославшему Меня».

31 «Если Я Сам свидетельствую о Себе, то Моё свидетельство будет недействительным.

32 Но есть тот, кто свидетельствует обо Мне, и Я знаю, что его свидетельство истинно.

33 Вы посылали к Иоанну людей, и он сказал им правду.

34 Я не полагаюсь на свидетельство людей обо Мне, но Я говорю вам о том, что проповедовал Иоанн, чтобы вы спаслись.

35 Иоанн был словно зажжённый светильник, дающий свет, и вы какое-то время с радостью принимали его свет.

36 Но у Меня Самого есть доказательство о Себе более основательное, чем то, о котором говорил Иоанн. Потому что дела, которые повелел Мне исполнить Отец и которые Я совершаю, свидетельствуют о том, что Отец послал Меня.

37 И даже Сам Отец, пославший Меня, свидетельствует в Мою пользу. Но вы никогда не слышали Его голоса и никогда не видели Его облика,

38 и слово Его не живёт в вас, потому что не верите в Посланного Им.

39 Вы изучаете Писания, так как считаете, что через них вы найдёте вечную жизнь, но эти же самые Писания свидетельствуют обо Мне!

40 И всё же вы не хотите прийти ко Мне, чтобы обрести жизнь.

41 Я не ищу ни вашей хвалы, ни хвалы других людей.

42 Но Я знаю вас, и Я знаю, что в вас нет любви к Богу!

43 Я пришёл к вам во имя Моего Отца, но вы не принимаете Меня. Если же иной явится к вам сам от себя, то его вы примете!

44 Как вы можете поверить, если приемлете хвалу друг от друга, но не стремитесь к одобрению Единого Бога?

45 Не думайте, что Я стану осуждать вас перед Отцом. Моисей, на которого вы надеетесь, осудит вас.

46 Если бы вы и вправду верили Моисею, то поверили бы и Мне, так как он писал обо Мне.

47 Но если вы не верите тому, что он писал, то как же вы поверите Моим словам?»

Chapter 5

1 AFTER these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

2 Now there was at Jerusalem a baptismal pool, which is called in Hebrew Bethesda, having five entrances.

3 And at these entrances a great many sick people were lying, the blind, the lame, and the crippled; and they were waiting for the water to be stirred up;

4 For an angel of God went down at a certain time to the baptismal pool and stirred up the water; and whoever went in first after the stirring of the water was healed of any disease he had.

5 A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.

6 Jesus saw this man lying down, and he knew that he had been waiting for a long time; so he said to him, Do you wish to be healed?

7 The sick man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man, when the water is stirred up, to put me into the baptismal pool; but while I am coming, another one goes in before me.

8 Jesus said to him, Rise, take up your quiltbed, and walk.

9 And the man was healed immediately, and he got up and took his quilt-bed and walked. And that day was the sabbath.

10 So the Jews said to him who was healed, It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your quilt-bed.

11 He answered and said to them, He who had healed me, he told me, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk.

12 And they asked him, Who is this man who said to you, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk?

13 But he who was healed did not know who he was; for Jesus was pressed by a large crowd which was at that place.

14 After a while, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, Behold, you are healed; do not sin again, for something worse might happen to you than the first.

15 And the man went away and told the Jews, that it was Jesus who had healed him.

16 And for this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and wanted to kill him, because he was doing these things on the sabbath.

17 But Jesus said to them, My Father works even until now, so I also work.

18 And for this the Jews wanted the more to kill him, not only because he was weakening the sabbath, but also because he said concerning God that he is his Father, and was making himself equal with God.

19 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, that the Son can do nothing of his own accord, except what he sees the Father doing; for the things which the Father does, the same the Son does like him also.

20 For the Father loves his Son, and he shows him everything that he does; and he will show him greater works than these, so that you may marvel.

21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will.

22 For the Father does not judge any man, but he has entrusted all judgment to the Son;

23 So that every man should honor the Son, just as he honors the Father. He who does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father who sent him.

24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes him who has sent me, has everlasting life; and he does not come before the judgment, but he passes from death to life.

25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The time is coming, and it is now already here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear it will live.

26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself.

27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment also, for he is the Son of man.

28 Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming, when all those who are in the graves will hear his voice,

29 And they will come out; those who have done good works to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil works to the resurrection of judgment.

30 I can do nothing of myself; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.

31 If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is not true.

32 It is another one who testifies concerning me; and I know that the testimony which he testifies concerning me is true.

33 You sent to John, and he testified concerning the truth.

34 But I do not receive any testimony from men; but I tell you these things so that you may be saved.

35 He was a lamp which burns and gives light; and you were willing to delight in his light for a while.

36 But I have a greater testimony than that of John; for the works which my Father has given me to finish, the same works which I do, testify concerning me, that the Father has sent me.

37 And the Father who sent me has testified concerning me. But you have never heard his voice, nor seen his appearance.

38 And his word does not abide in you, because you do not believe in him whom he has sent.

39 Examine the scriptures, in which you trust that you have eternal life; and even they testify concerning me.

40 Yet you will not come to me, that you might have life everlasting.

41 I do not receive any praise from men.

42 But I know you well, that the love of God is not in you.

43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; if another should come in his own name, you will receive him.

44 How can you believe, when you accept praise one from another, but the praise from God only, you do not want?

45 Why, do you think that I will accuse you before the Father; there is one who will accuse you, even Moses, in whom you trust.

46 For if you had believed in Moses, you would also have believed in me; because Moses wrote concerning me.

47 If you do not believe his writings, how then can you believe my words?

5 И был среди них один человек, который был болен тридцать восемь лет.	5 A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6 Когда Иисус увидел его лежащим там и узнал, что он болен столь долгое время, то спросил: «Хочешь ли ты быть здоровым?»	6 Jesus saw this man lying down, and he knew that he had been waiting for a long time; so he said to him, Do you wish to be healed?
7 Больной ответил: «Господин, у меня нет никого, кто мог бы помочь мне сойти в воду, когда она начинает бурлить. Когда я пытаюсь спуститься к воде, кто-нибудь всегда опережает меня».	7 The sick man answered and said, Yes, my Lord; but I have no man, when the water is stirred up, to put me into the baptismal pool; but while I am coming, another one goes in before me.
8 Иисус сказал ему: «Встань, подбери свою постель и ходи».	8 Jesus said to him, Rise, take up your quiltbed, and walk.
9 И в тот же миг больной исцелился, подобрал свою постель и пошёл. Всё это произошло в субботний день.	9 And the man was healed immediately, and he got up and took his quilt-bed and walked. And that day was the sabbath.
10 Поэтому иудейские предводители стали говорить исцелённому: «Сегодня суббота, закон не разрешает тебе подбирать свою постель».	10 So the Jews said to him who was healed, It is the sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your quilt-bed.
11 А он ответил: «Человек, исцеливший меня, сказал: „Подбери свою постель и ходи”».	11 He answered and said to them, He who had healed me, he told me, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk.
12 Иудейские предводители спросили его: «Кто Тот Человек, Который сказал тебе: „Подбери свою постель и ходи”?»	12 And they asked him, Who is this man who said to you, Take up your quilt-bed, and walk?
13 Но исцелённый не знал, Кто это был, так как там была толпа народа, а Иисус незаметно ушёл оттуда.	13 But he who was healed did not know who he was; for Jesus was pressed by a large crowd which was at that place.
14 Потом Иисус нашёл его во дворе храма и обратился к нему с такими словами: «Вот, ты теперь здоров. Больше не греши, чтобы не случилось с тобой чего похуже».	14 After a while, Jesus found him in the temple and said to him, Behold, you are healed; do not sin again, for something worse might happen to you than the first.
15 Тот человек пошёл и рассказал иудейским предводителям, что это Иисус исцелил его.	15 And the man went away and told the Jews, that it was Jesus who had healed him.
16 И те стали преследовать Иисуса, так как Он совершал такие дела в субботу.	16 And for this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and wanted to kill him, because he was doing these things on the sabbath.
17 Иисус сказал им: «Мой Отец всегда занят делом, поэтому и Я занят делом».	17 But Jesus said to them, My Father works even until now, so I also work.
18 За этот ответ иудейские предводители ещё упорнее стали искать случай убить Иисуса, потому что Он не только нарушил закон о субботе, но ещё и назвал Бога Своим Отцом, приравнивая тем самым Себя к Богу.	18 And for this the Jews wanted the more to kill him, not only because he was weakening the sabbath, but also because he said concerning God that he is his Father, and was making himself equal with God.
19 Иисус же сказал им: «Истинно вам говорю, что Сын ничего не может совершить по Своей воле, Он делает лишь то, что, как Он видит, делает Отец. Что делает Отец, то и Сын Его делает.	19 Jesus answered and said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, that the Son can do nothing of his own accord, except what he sees the Father doing; for the things which the Father does, the same the Son does like him also.
20 Отец любит Сына и показывает Ему всё, что совершает. Он откроет Ему ещё большие дела, чем эти, и вы удивитесь.	20 For the Father loves his Son, and he shows him everything that he does; and he will show him greater works than these, so that you may marvel.
21 Подобно тому как Отец воскрешает мёртвых и даёт жизнь, так и Сын даёт жизнь тому, кому пожелает.	21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to those whom he will.
22 Отец никого не судит, но передал суд в руки Сына,	22 For the Father does not judge any man, but he has entrusted all judgment to the Son;
23 чтобы все стали почитать Сына так же, как почитают Отца. Тот, кто не почитает Сына, не почитает и пославшего Его Отца.	23 So that every man should honor the Son, just as he honors the Father. He who does not honor the Son, does not honor the Father who sent him.
24 Истинно вам говорю: кто услышит Мои слова и поверит в Пославшего Меня, обретёт вечную жизнь и не будет осуждён, потому что уже перешёл от смерти к жизни.	24 Truly, truly, I say to you, He who hears my word, and believes him who has sent me, has everlasting life; and he does not come before the judgment, but he passes from death to life.
25 Истинно вам говорю, что приближается время, и оно уже настало, когда мёртвые услышат голос Сына Божьего, и каждый, кто услышит его, будет жить.	25 Truly, truly, I say to you, The time is coming, and it is now already here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who hear it will live.
26 Отец — источник жизни, и Сыну Он позволил быть источником жизни.	26 For as the Father has life in himself, even so he has given to the Son also to have life in himself.
27 Он дал Ему власть быть судьёй, потому что Он — Иисус, Сын Человеческий.	27 And he has given him authority to execute judgment also, for he is the Son of man.
28 Не удивляйтесь этому, потому что приближается время, когда все лежащие в могилах услышат голос Сына Человеческого	28 Do not wonder at this; for the time is coming, when all those who are in the graves will hear his voice,
29 и восстанут из могил. Те, кто творили добро, воскреснут, чтобы жить, те же, кто делали зло, воскреснут, чтобы быть судимыми.	29 And they will come out; those who have done good works to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil works to the resurrection of judgment.
30 Я ничего не могу сделать Сам от Себя. Я сужу только так, как велит Мне Бог, и суд Мой праведен, потому что Я стремлюсь к исполнению не того, что Я хочу, а лишь того, что угодно Пославшему Меня».	30 I can do nothing of myself; but as I hear I judge, and my judgment is just; for I do not seek my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
31 «Если Я Сам свидетельствую о Себе, то Моё свидетельство будет недействительным.	31 If I testify concerning myself, my testimony is not true.
32 Но есть тот, кто свидетельствует обо Мне, и Я знаю, что его свидетельство истинно.	32 It is another one who testifies concerning me; and I know that the testimony which he testifies concerning me is true.
33 Вы посылали к Иоанну людей, и он сказал им правду.	33 You sent to John, and he testified concerning the truth.
34 Я не полагаюсь на свидетельство людей обо Мне, но Я говорю вам о том, что проповедовал Иоанн, чтобы вы спаслись.	34 But I do not receive any testimony from men; but I tell you these things so that you may be saved.
35 Иоанн был словно зажжённый светильник, дающий свет, и вы какое-то время с радостью принимали его свет.	35 He was a lamp which burns and gives light; and you were willing to delight in his light for a while.
36 Но у Меня Самого есть доказательство о Себе более основательное, чем то, о котором говорил Иоанн. Потому что дела, которые повелел Мне исполнить Отец и которые Я совершаю, свидетельствуют о том, что Отец послал Меня.	36 But I have a greater testimony than that of John; for the works which my Father has given me to finish, the same works which I do, testify concerning me, that the Father has sent me.
37 И даже Сам Отец, пославший Меня, свидетельствует в Мою пользу. Но вы никогда не слышали Его голоса и никогда не видели Его облика,	37 And the Father who sent me has testified concerning me. But you have never heard his voice, nor seen his appearance.
38 и слово Его не живёт в вас, потому что не верите в Посланного Им.	38 And his word does not abide in you, because you do not believe in him whom he has sent.
39 Вы изучаете Писания, так как считаете, что через них вы найдёте вечную жизнь, но эти же самые Писания свидетельствуют обо Мне!	39 Examine the scriptures, in which you trust that you have eternal life; and even they testify concerning me.
40 И всё же вы не хотите прийти ко Мне, чтобы обрести жизнь.	40 Yet you will not come to me, that you might have life everlasting.
41 Я не ищу ни вашей хвалы, ни хвалы других людей.	41 I do not receive any praise from men.
42 Но Я знаю вас, и Я знаю, что в вас нет любви к Богу!	42 But I know you well, that the love of God is not in you.
43 Я пришёл к вам во имя Моего Отца, но вы не принимаете Меня. Если же иной явится к вам сам от себя, то его вы примете!	43 I have come in the name of my Father, and you do not receive me; if another should come in his own name, you will receive him.
44 Как вы можете поверить, если приемлете хвалу друг от друга, но не стремитесь к одобрению Единого Бога?	44 How can you believe, when you accept praise one from another, but the praise from God only, you do not want?
45 Не думайте, что Я стану осуждать вас перед Отцом. Моисей, на которого вы надеетесь, осудит вас.	45 Why, do you think that I will accuse you before the Father; there is one who will accuse you, even Moses, in whom you trust.
46 Если бы вы и вправду верили Моисею, то поверили бы и Мне, так как он писал обо Мне.	46 For if you had believed in Moses, you would also have believed in me; because Moses wrote concerning me.
47 Но если вы не верите тому, что он писал, то как же вы поверите Моим словам?»	47 If you do not believe his writings, how then can you believe my words?
