Глава 40

1 Весть от Господа пришла к Иеремии в городе Рама после того, как он был освобождён. Навузардан, командир телохранителей вавилонского царя, нашёл Иеремию в Раме, закованным в цепи. Он находился вместе со всеми пленниками Иерусалима и Иудеи, которых отправляли в Вавилон.

2 Когда Навузардан нашёл Иеремию, он сказал ему: «Иеремия, Господь, твой Бог, навлёк несчастье на эту землю.

3 И теперь Господь сделал так, как ты предвещал. Эти несчастья случились потому, что вы, люди Иудеи, грешили против Господа и не подчинились Ему.

4 Но теперь, Иеремия, я освобождаю тебя, я снимаю цепи с запястий твоих, и если ты хочешь пойти со мной в Вавилон, то я буду о тебе постоянно заботиться. Но если не хочешь идти в Вавилон, то оставайся. Вся страна находится в твоём распоряжении, иди куда захочешь.

5 Если ты пожелаешь, то возвращайся к Годолии, сыну Ахикама, чей отец Шафан, которого вавилонский царь назначил губернатором над городами Иудеи. Иди и живи среди его людей или отправляйся туда, куда тебе хочется». Тогда Навузардан дал Иеремии еду, подарки и разрешил ему уйти.

6 Иеремия отправился к Годолии, сыну Ахикама, в Мицфу, где и находился среди тех, кому было позволено остаться в Иудейской земле.

7 Воины из армии Иудеи, командиры и солдаты ещё находились в стране, когда был разрушен Иерусалим. Они узнали, что вавилонский царь назначил Годолию, сына Ахикама, ответственным за всех, кто был оставлен в Иудее: самых бедных мужчин, женщин, детей, которые не были угнаны в Вавилон.

8 И все эти воины пришли к Годолии в Мицфу. Среди них были Измаил, сын Нефании, Иоханан и его брат Ионафан, сыновья Карея, Сераия, сын Фанасмефа, сыновья Офи из Нетофафы, Иазания, сын маахитянина, и люди, которые им служили.

9 Годолия, сын Ахикама, чей отец был Шафан, поклялся, что их воины и слуги будут в безопасности. Он сказал: «Не бойтесь вавилонян. Оставайтесь здесь и служите вавилонскому царю. Тогда с вами ничего не случится.

10 Я лично буду жить в Мицфе, я буду отвечать за вас перед халдеями, которые сюда приходят. Эту заботу оставьте мне, а сами собирайте фрукты, делайте вино и масло, собирайте всё это в сосуды, и живите в городах, которые вы заняли».

11 Все люди Иудеи, находившиеся как в землях Моава, Аммона и Едома, так и во всех других землях, узнали, что вавилонский царь оставил некоторых людей в Иудее и назначил губернатором над ними Годолию, сына Ахикама, чей отец был Шафан.

12 Услышав эту новость, они вернулись на земли Иудеи и пришли к Годолии в Мицфу из всех земель, по которым они были разбросаны. Придя обратно, они собрали большой урожай и сделали много вина.

13 Иоханан, сын Карея, и другие командиры армии Иудеи, которые всё ещё были в поле, пришли к Годолии в Мицфу.

Chapter 40

1 THE word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after Nebuzaradan the general of the guard sent him away from Ramtha, when he had taken him bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah who were carried away captive to Babylon.

2 And the general of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, The LORD your God has pronounced this evil upon this place.

3 Now the LORD has brought it and done according as he has said, because you have sinned against the LORD and did not obey his voice, therefore this thing has come upon you.

4 And now, behold, I release you this day from the chains which are upon your hands. If you wish to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will take good care of you; but if you do not wish to come with me to Babylon, remain here. Behold, all the land is before you; wherever it seems good and convenient for you to go, thither go.

5 Then he said to him again, If you remain, dwell among the people with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah; or go wherever it seems good to you to go. Then Nebuzaradan, the general of the guard gave him presents after the custom and let him go.

6 Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to Mizpah, and dwelt with him among the people who were left in the land.

7 Now when all the captains of the forces who were in the villages and their men heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land and had committed to him men and women and children and some of the poor of the land who had not been carried away captive to Babylon,

8 Then they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite and Jezaniah the son of Maacath, they and their men.

9 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans; dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

10 As for me, behold, I will dwell in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who will come to us; but you gather wheat, wine, oil, and summer fruits, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in the cities that you have taken.

11 Likewise when all the Jews who were in Edom, Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in all other countries heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah and that he had appointed over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan;

12 Then all the Jews returned from all the places to which they had been driven and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.

13 Moreover, Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces who were in the villages came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,

14 And said to him, Do you not know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay you? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam did not believe them.

15 Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke secretly to Gedaliah at Mizpah, saying, Let me go and slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it; lest he slay you, and all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of the Jews should perish.

16 But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing; for you are speaking falsely of Ishmael.

1 THE word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after Nebuzaradan the general of the guard sent him away from Ramtha, when he had taken him bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah who were carried away captive to Babylon.

2 Когда Навузардан нашёл Иеремию, он сказал ему: «Иеремия, Господь, твой Бог, навлёк несчастье на эту землю.

2 And the general of the guard took Jeremiah, and said to him, The LORD your God has pronounced this evil upon this place.

3 И теперь Господь сделал так, как ты предвещал. Эти несчастья случились потому, что вы, люди Иудеи, грешили против Господа и не подчинились Ему.

3 Now the LORD has brought it and done according as he has said, because you have sinned against the LORD and did not obey his voice, therefore this thing has come upon you.

4 And now, behold, I release you this day from the chains which are upon your hands. If you wish to come with me to Babylon, come, and I will take good care of you; but if you do not wish to come with me to Babylon, remain here. Behold, all the land is before you; wherever it seems good and convenient for you to go, thither go.

5 Если ты пожелаешь, то возвращайся к Годолии, сыну Ахикама, чей отец Шафан, которого вавилонский царь назначил губернатором над городами Иудеи. Иди и живи среди его людей или отправляйся туда, куда тебе хочется». Тогда Навузардан дал Иеремии еду, подарки и разрешил ему уйти.

5 Then he said to him again, If you remain, dwell among the people with Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah; or go wherever it seems good to you to go. Then Nebuzaradan, the general of the guard gave him presents after the custom and let him go.

6 Иеремия отправился к Годолии, сыну Ахикама, в Мицфу, где и находился среди тех, кому было позволено остаться в Иудейской земле.

6 Then Jeremiah went to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, to Mizpah, and dwelt with him among the people who were left in the land.

8 Then they came to Gedaliah at Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite and Jezaniah the son of Maacath, they and their men.

9 Годолия, сын Ахикама, чей отец был Шафан, поклялся, что их воины и слуги будут в безопасности. Он сказал: «Не бойтесь вавилонян. Оставайтесь здесь и служите вавилонскому царю. Тогда с вами ничего не случится.

9 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan swore to them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans; dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.

10 Я лично буду жить в Мицфе, я буду отвечать за вас перед халдеями, которые сюда приходят. Эту заботу оставьте мне, а сами собирайте фрукты, делайте вино и масло, собирайте всё это в сосуды, и живите в городах, которые вы заняли».

10 As for me, behold, I will dwell in Mizpah, to stand before the Chaldeans who will come to us; but you gather wheat, wine, oil, and summer fruits, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in the cities that you have taken.

11 Все люди Иудеи, находившиеся как в землях Моава, Аммона и Едома, так и во всех других землях, узнали, что вавилонский царь оставил некоторых людей в Иудее и назначил губернатором над ними Годолию, сына Ахикама, чей отец был Шафан.

11 Likewise when all the Jews who were in Edom, Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in all other countries heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah and that he had appointed over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan;

12 Услышав эту новость, они вернулись на земли Иудеи и пришли к Годолии в Мицфу из всех земель, по которым они были разбросаны. Придя обратно, они собрали большой урожай и сделали много вина.

12 Then all the Jews returned from all the places to which they had been driven and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.

13 Moreover, Johanan the son of Kareah and all the commanders of the forces who were in the villages came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,

14 And said to him, Do you not know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites has sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay you? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam did not believe them.

15 Затем Иоханан, сын Карея, разговаривал с Годолией наедине. Он сказал: «Позволь мне пойти и убить Измаила, сына Нефании, об этом никто не узнает. Мы не должны позволить Измаилу убить тебя; из-за этого все люди Иудеи, собравшиеся вокруг тебя, могут опять разойтись по разным землям, и тогда те из иудеев, кто выжил, будут потеряны».

15 Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke secretly to Gedaliah at Mizpah, saying, Let me go and slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it; lest he slay you, and all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of the Jews should perish.

16 Но Годолия, сын Ахикама, ответил Иоханану, сыну Карея: «Не убивай Измаила, потому что всё, что ты сказал о нём, — неправда».

16 But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing; for you are speaking falsely of Ishmael.
