Глава 8

1 Вы должны старательно исполнять каждое из повелений, которые я даю вам сегодня, чтобы жить и становиться все более многочисленными, чтобы войти в землю, которую Господь клятвенно обещал вашим отцам, и завладеть ею.

2 Помни, как Господь, твой Бог, вел тебя через пустыню все эти сорок лет, смиряя и испытывая тебя, чтобы узнать, что в твоем сердце, будешь ты исполнять Его повеления или нет.

3 Он смирял тебя, заставляя тебя голодать, а затем насыщал манной, которой не знал ни ты, ни твои отцы, чтобы научить тебя, что не одним хлебом живет человек, но и каждым словом, исходящим из уст Господа.

4 Твоя одежда не изнашивалась, и твои ноги не опухали все эти сорок лет.

5 Пусть твое сердце помнит, что как человек наставляет своего сына, так и Господь, твой Бог, наставляет тебя.

6 Соблюдай повеления Господа, своего Бога, ходи Его путями и почитай Его.

7 Ведь Господь, твой Бог, вводит тебя в благодатную землю — землю с многоводными реками и водоемами, с источниками, пробивающимися в долинах и в горах;

8 в землю с пшеницей и ячменем, виноградными лозами и инжиром, гранатами, оливковым маслом и медом;

9 в землю, где хлеба не оскудеют, и ты ни в чем не будешь нуждаться; в землю, где скалы содержат железо, и где из гор ты сможешь добывать медь.

10 Когда ты поешь и насытишься, тогда славь Господа, своего Бога, за ту благодатную землю, которую Он дал тебе.

11 Берегись, не забудь Господа, своего Бога, соблюдай Его повеления, законы и установления, которые я даю тебе сегодня.

12 Иначе, когда ты поешь и насытишься, когда построишь хорошие дома и поселишься в них,

13 когда твои стада и отары увеличатся, а серебро, золото и все имущество умножатся,

14 твое сердце возгордится, и ты забудешь Господа, своего Бога, Который вывел тебя из Египта, из земли рабства.

15 Он вел тебя через огромную и ужасную пустыню, иссохшую и безводную землю с ядовитыми змеями и скорпионами. Он дал тебе воду из кремневой скалы.

16 Он кормил тебя манной в пустыне, которую никогда не знали твои отцы, чтобы смирить и испытать тебя и чтобы в конце концов у тебя все было благополучно.

17 Когда ты будешь процветать, ты можешь сказать про себя: «Я заработал это богатство своей силой и мощью моих рук».

18 Но помни Господа, твоего Бога, потому что это Он дает тебе возможность приобретать богатство, подтверждая — как это и есть сегодня — Свой завет, о котором Он клялся твоим отцам.

19 Если ты когда-нибудь забудешь Господа, своего Бога, последуешь другим богам и будешь служить и кланяться им, то — я свидетельствую против вас сегодня — вы непременно будете истреблены.

20 Подобно народам, которые Господь истребил перед вами, будете истреблены и вы за непослушание Господу, вашему Богу.

Deuteronomy

Chapter 8

1 ALL the commandments which I command you this day you shall observe to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the LORD swore to your fathers.

2 And you shall remember all the way which the LORD your God led you these forty years in the wilderness, that he might humble you, and prove you, to know what is in your heart, whether you would keep his commandments or not.

3 And he humbled you and suffered you to hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you to understand that man does not live by bread alone; but by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

4 Your clothes did not wear out upon you, neither did your feet go bare during these forty years.

5 You must know in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

6 Therefore you must keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways and fear him.

7 For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and mountains;

8 A land of wheat and barley, and of vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees, and of oil and honey;

9 A land wherein you shall eat bread without scarcity, you shall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose mountains you may dig brass.

10 You shall eat and be full, and then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which he has given you.

11 Take heed, lest you forget the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments and his judgments and his statutes, which I command you this day;

12 Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses, and dwell in them;

13 And when your flocks and herds multiply, and your silver and gold are multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied;

14 Then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

15 Who led you through the great and terrible wilderness, a place of fiery serpents and scorpions and droughts, a place where there was no water; who brought you forth water out of the flinty rock;

16 Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers did not know, that he might humble you, and that he might prove you, to do you good at the end;

17 And you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

18 But you shall remember the LORD your God; for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

19 And if you do forget the LORD your God, and walk after other gods and serve them and worship them. I have testified against you this day that you shall surely perish.

20 As the nations which the LORD destroyed before you, so shall you perish if you are not obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.

3 Он смирял тебя, заставляя тебя голодать, а затем насыщал манной, которой не знал ни ты, ни твои отцы, чтобы научить тебя, что не одним хлебом живет человек, но и каждым словом, исходящим из уст Господа.

3 And he humbled you and suffered you to hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, neither did your fathers know; that he might make you to understand that man does not live by bread alone; but by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD does man live.

4 Твоя одежда не изнашивалась, и твои ноги не опухали все эти сорок лет.

5 You must know in your heart that, as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.

6 Соблюдай повеления Господа, своего Бога, ходи Его путями и почитай Его.

6 Therefore you must keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in his ways and fear him.

7 Ведь Господь, твой Бог, вводит тебя в благодатную землю — землю с многоводными реками и водоемами, с источниками, пробивающимися в долинах и в горах;

7 For the LORD your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and mountains;

8 в землю с пшеницей и ячменем, виноградными лозами и инжиром, гранатами, оливковым маслом и медом;

8 A land of wheat and barley, and of vines and fig trees and pomegranates; a land of olive trees, and of oil and honey;

9 в землю, где хлеба не оскудеют, и ты ни в чем не будешь нуждаться; в землю, где скалы содержат железо, и где из гор ты сможешь добывать медь.

9 A land wherein you shall eat bread without scarcity, you shall not lack anything in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose mountains you may dig brass.

10 Когда ты поешь и насытишься, тогда славь Господа, своего Бога, за ту благодатную землю, которую Он дал тебе.

10 You shall eat and be full, and then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which he has given you.

11 Берегись, не забудь Господа, своего Бога, соблюдай Его повеления, законы и установления, которые я даю тебе сегодня.

11 Take heed, lest you forget the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments and his judgments and his statutes, which I command you this day;

12 Иначе, когда ты поешь и насытишься, когда построишь хорошие дома и поселишься в них,

12 Lest when you have eaten and are full, and have built beautiful houses, and dwell in them;

17 And you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.

18 Но помни Господа, твоего Бога, потому что это Он дает тебе возможность приобретать богатство, подтверждая — как это и есть сегодня — Свой завет, о котором Он клялся твоим отцам.

18 But you shall remember the LORD your God; for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

19 Если ты когда-нибудь забудешь Господа, своего Бога, последуешь другим богам и будешь служить и кланяться им, то — я свидетельствую против вас сегодня — вы непременно будете истреблены.

19 And if you do forget the LORD your God, and walk after other gods and serve them and worship them. I have testified against you this day that you shall surely perish.

20 Подобно народам, которые Господь истребил перед вами, будете истреблены и вы за непослушание Господу, вашему Богу.

20 As the nations which the LORD destroyed before you, so shall you perish if you are not obedient to the voice of the LORD your God.
