Глава 19

1 Когда Господь, твой Бог, истребит народы, землю которых Он отдает тебе, и когда ты прогонишь их и поселишься в их городах и домах,

2 тогда отдели себе три города, расположенные посередине земли, которую Господь, твой Бог, отдает тебе во владение.

3 Проложи к ним дороги и раздели на три части землю, которую Господь, твой Бог, отдает тебе в наследие, чтобы всякий, кто убьет кого-либо, мог туда убежать.

4 Вот правило о человеке, который совершит убийство и убежит туда, чтобы спасти свою жизнь, о всяком, кто убьет человека неумышленно, не питая к убитому ненависти.

5 Например, человек пойдет в лес с кем-нибудь, чтобы нарубить дров. А когда он замахнется на дерево топором, топор слетит с топорища, ударит другого и убьет его. Такой человек может убежать в один из этих городов и спасти свою жизнь.

6 Иначе, если расстояние слишком велико, мститель за кровь может погнаться за ним в гневе, настигнуть и убить. Хотя тот и не заслуживает смерти, потому что убил неумышленно, не питая к убитому ненависти.

7 Вот почему я повелеваю тебе отделить три города.

8 Когда Господь, твой Бог, расширит твои владения, как Он клялся твоим отцам, и даст тебе всю землю, которую обещал им,

9 если ты будешь прилежно следовать всем повелениям, которые я даю тебе сегодня, — любить Господа, твоего Бога, и всегда ходить Его путями, — то выбери еще три города.

10 Сделай это, чтобы в твоей земле, которую Господь, твой Бог, дает тебе в наследие, не проливалась невинная кровь, и чтобы ты не был виновным в кровопролитии.

11 Но если человек из ненависти к ближнему устроит ему засаду, нападет на него и убьет, а потом убежит в один из этих городов,

12 то старейшины его города должны послать за ним, чтобы вернуть его из города-убежища и передать мстителю за кровь — пусть он умрет.

13 Не жалей его. Ты должен искоренить в Израиле грех пролития невинной крови, чтобы в дальнейшем у тебя все было благополучно.

14 Не передвигай межу ближнего твоего, установленную твоими предшественниками в наследии, которое ты получил в земле, которую Господь, твой Бог, отдает тебе во владение.

15 Чтобы осудить человека, обвиняемого в каком бы то ни было преступлении или проступке, одного свидетеля недостаточно. Любое обвинение должно подтверждаться показаниями двух или трех свидетелей.

16 Если злонамеренный свидетель встанет, чтобы обвинить человека в преступлении,

17 то двое участников тяжбы должны предстать перед Господом, священниками и судьями, которые будут в те дни.

18 Судьи должны тщательно расследовать дело, и если свидетель окажется лгуном, дающим ложное показание против своего брата,

19 то вы должны сделать с ним то, что он хотел сделать со своим братом. Ты должен искоренить зло среди своего народа.

20 Остальной народ услышит об этом и испугается, и впредь такое злое дело никогда не повторится у тебя.

21 Не поддавайся жалости: жизнь за жизнь, глаз за глаз, зуб за зуб, руку за руку, ногу за ногу.

3 Thou shalt prepare3559 thee a way,1870 and divide8027 853 the coasts1366 of thy land,776 which834 the LORD3068 thy God430 giveth thee to inherit,5157 into three parts, that every3605 slayer7523 may1961 flee5127 thither.8033

4 And this2088 is the case1697 of the slayer,7523 which834 shall flee5127 thither,8033 that he may live:2425 Whoso834 killeth5221 853 his neighbor7453 ignorantly,1907 1947 whom he1931 hated8130 not3808 in time8032 past;4480 8657

6 Lest6435 the avenger1350 of the blood1818 pursue7291 310 the slayer,7523 while3588 his heart3824 is hot,3179 and overtake5381 him, because3588 the way1870 is long,7235 and slay5221 him;5315 whereas he was not369 worthy of death,4941 4194 inasmuch as3588 he1931 hated8130 him not3808 in time8032 past.4480 8543

7 Wherefore5921 3651 I595 command6680 thee, saying,559 Thou shalt separate914 three7969 cities5892 for thee.

8 And if518 the LORD3068 thy God430 enlarge7337 853 thy coast,1366 as834 he hath sworn7650 unto thy fathers,1 and give5414 thee853 all3605 the land776 which834 he promised1696 to give5414 unto thy fathers;1

9 If3588 thou shalt keep8104 853 all3605 these2063 commandments4687 to do6213 them, which834 I595 command6680 thee this day,3117 to love157 853 the LORD3068 thy God,430 and to walk1980 ever3605 3117 in his ways;1870 then shalt thou add3254 three7969 cities5892 more5750 for thee, beside5921 these428 three: 7969

10 That innocent5355 blood1818 be not3808 shed8210 in7130 thy land,776 which834 the LORD3068 thy God430 giveth5414 thee for an inheritance,5159 and so blood1818 be1961 upon5921 thee.

11 But if3588 any man376 hate1961 8130 his neighbor,7453 and lie in wait693 for him, and rise up6965 against5921 him, and smite5221 him mortally5315 that he die,4191 and fleeth5127 into413 one259 of these411 cities: 5892

12 Then the elders2205 of his city5892 shall send7971 and fetch3947 him thence,4480 8033 and deliver5414 him into the hand3027 of the avenger1350 of blood,1818 that he may die.4191

13 Thine eye5869 shall not3808 pity2347 5921 him, but thou shalt put away1197 the guilt of innocent5355 blood1818 from Israel,4480 3478 that it may go well2895 with thee.

14 Thou shalt not3808 remove5253 thy neighbor's7453 landmark,1366 which834 they of old time7223 have set1379 in thine inheritance,5159 which834 thou shalt inherit5157 in the land776 that834 the LORD3068 thy God430 giveth5414 thee to possess3423 it.

15 One259 witness5707 shall not3808 rise up6965 against a man376 for any3605 iniquity,5771 or for any3605 sin,2403 in any3605 sin2399 that834 he sinneth:2398 at5921 the mouth6310 of two8147 witnesses,5707 or176 at5921 the mouth6310 of three7969 witnesses,5707 shall the matter1697 be established.6965

16 If3588 a false2555 witness5707 rise up6965 against any man376 to testify6030 against him that which is wrong;5627

17 Then both8147 the men,376 between whom834 the controversy7379 is, shall stand5975 before6440 the LORD,3068 before6440 the priests3548 and the judges,8199 which834 shall be1961 in those1992 days;3117

18 And the judges8199 shall make diligent inquisition:1875 3190 and, behold,2009 if the witness5707 be a false8267 witness,5707 and hath testified6030 falsely8267 against his brother;251

19 Then shall ye do6213 unto him, as834 he had thought2161 to have done6213 unto his brother:251 so shalt thou put the evil away1197 7451 from among4480 7130 you.

20 And those which remain7604 shall hear,8085 and fear,3372 and shall henceforth3254 commit6213 no3808 more5750 any1697 such2088 evil7451 among7130 you.

21 And thine eye5869 shall not3808 pity;2347 but life5315 shall go for life,5315 eye5869 for eye,5869 tooth8127 for tooth,8127 hand3027 for hand,3027 foot7272 for foot.7272

9 если ты будешь прилежно следовать всем повелениям, которые я даю тебе сегодня, — любить Господа, твоего Бога, и всегда ходить Его путями, — то выбери еще три города.

9 If3588 thou shalt keep8104 853 all3605 these2063 commandments4687 to do6213 them, which834 I595 command6680 thee this day,3117 to love157 853 the LORD3068 thy God,430 and to walk1980 ever3605 3117 in his ways;1870 then shalt thou add3254 three7969 cities5892 more5750 for thee, beside5921 these428 three: 7969

12 то старейшины его города должны послать за ним, чтобы вернуть его из города-убежища и передать мстителю за кровь — пусть он умрет.

12 Then the elders2205 of his city5892 shall send7971 and fetch3947 him thence,4480 8033 and deliver5414 him into the hand3027 of the avenger1350 of blood,1818 that he may die.4191

15 Чтобы осудить человека, обвиняемого в каком бы то ни было преступлении или проступке, одного свидетеля недостаточно. Любое обвинение должно подтверждаться показаниями двух или трех свидетелей.

15 One259 witness5707 shall not3808 rise up6965 against a man376 for any3605 iniquity,5771 or for any3605 sin,2403 in any3605 sin2399 that834 he sinneth:2398 at5921 the mouth6310 of two8147 witnesses,5707 or176 at5921 the mouth6310 of three7969 witnesses,5707 shall the matter1697 be established.6965

16 Если злонамеренный свидетель встанет, чтобы обвинить человека в преступлении,

19 то вы должны сделать с ним то, что он хотел сделать со своим братом. Ты должен искоренить зло среди своего народа.

20 Остальной народ услышит об этом и испугается, и впредь такое злое дело никогда не повторится у тебя.

20 And those which remain7604 shall hear,8085 and fear,3372 and shall henceforth3254 commit6213 no3808 more5750 any1697 such2088 evil7451 among7130 you.

21 Не поддавайся жалости: жизнь за жизнь, глаз за глаз, зуб за зуб, руку за руку, ногу за ногу.
