1 Вот что показал мне Владыка Господь: корзину со спелыми плодами.
2 — Что ты видишь, Амос? — спросил Он. — Корзину со спелыми плодами, — ответил я. Тогда сказал мне Господь: — Пришел конец Моему народу, Израилю; Я больше не буду их щадить.
3 Храмовые песни в тот день станут воплем, — возвещает Владыка Господь. — Повсюду разбросано множество трупов! Молчи!
4 Слушайте это, топчущие бедных, уничтожающие нищих страны,
5 говоря: «Когда же пройдет праздник Новолуния, чтобы нам продавать зерно, и суббота закончится, чтобы нам торговать пшеницей?» — урезая меру, завышая цену и обманывая неточными весами,
6 покупая нищего за серебро и бедного за пару сандалий, продавая даже шелуху от зерна.
7 Гордостью Иакова поклялся Господь: — Никогда не забуду ничего из их дел.
8 — Разве не содрогнется от этого земля, и не заплачет всякий живущий на ней? Вся земля поднимется, как Нил, будет вздыматься и убывать, как река Египта.
9 В тот день, — возвещает Владыка Господь, — Я сделаю так, что солнце закатится в полдень и накрою землю мраком средь ясного дня.
10 Праздники ваши обращу в скорбь и все ваши песни — в плач. Я заставлю всех вас одеться в рубище и обрить свои головы. Произведу в то время плач, как о единственном сыне, и горьким будет день, когда наступит конец.
11 Близятся дни, — возвещает Владыка Господь, — когда Я пошлю на землю голод — не пищи голод, не жажду воды, а голод и жажду услышать слова Господа.
12 Будут скитаться от моря до моря и от севера метаться к востоку в поисках слова Господня, но не найдут его.
13 В тот день красивые девушки и юноши ослабеют от жажды.
14 Те, кто клянется виной Самарии, и говорит: «Верно, как и то, что бог твой жив, о Дан» — или: «Верно, как и то, что живо паломничество в Вирсавию», падут и больше не встанут.

9 And it shall come to pass1961 in that1931 day,3117 saith5002 the Lord136 GOD,3069 that I will cause the sun8121 to go down935 at noon,6672 and I will darken2821 the earth776 in the clear216 day: 3117
10 And I will turn2015 your feasts2282 into mourning,60 and all3605 your songs7892 into lamentation;7015 and I will bring up5927 sackcloth8242 upon5921 all3605 loins,4975 and baldness7144 upon5921 every3605 head;7218 and I will make7760 it as the mourning60 of an only3173son, and the end319 thereof as a bitter4751 day.3117
11 Behold,2009 the days3117 come,935 saith5002 the Lord136 GOD,3069 that I will send7971 a famine7458 in the land,776 not3808 a famine7458 of bread,3899 nor3808 a thirst6772 for water,4325 but3588518 of hearing8085853 the words1697 of the LORD: 3068
12 And they shall wander5128 from sea44803220 to5704 sea,3220 and from the north44806828 even to5704 the east,4217 they shall run to and fro7751 to seek1245853 the word1697 of the LORD,3068 and shall not3808 find4672it.
13 In that1931 day3117 shall the fair3303 virgins1330 and young men970 faint5968 for thirst.6772
14 They that swear7650 by the sin819 of Samaria,8111 and say,559 Thy god,430 O Dan,1835 liveth;2416 and, The manner1870 of Beer-sheba884 liveth;2416 even they shall fall,5307 and never3808 rise up6965 again.5750
