Глава 7

1 Такое видение представил мне Господь Иегова. Вот, Он произвел саранчу при начале появления отавы; и вот, появилась отава после покоса царского.

2 И когда она съела всю траву на земле, я сказал: Господи Иегова! прости; как устоять Иакову? ибо он мал.

3 Отменил сие Иегова; `не будет сего`, сказал Иегова.

4 Такое видение представил мне Господь Иегова. Вот вызывает Господь Иегова судиться огнем, и стал огонь поядать великую бездну, и поел поле.

5 И сказал я: Господи Иегова! оставь; как устоять Иакову? ибо он мал.

6 Отменил Иегова и сие; `и сего не будет`, сказал Господь Иегова.

7 Такое видение мне представил Он. Вот, Господь стоит на стене, обделанной по отвесу, и в руке Его свинцовый отвес.

8 И сказал мне Иегова: что ты, Амос, видишь? я отвечал: свинцовый отвес. И сказал Господь: вот, Я поднял отвес среди народа Моего, Израиля, и уже не прощу ему.

9 И будут опустошены высоты Исааковы, и разорены святилища Израилевы; и восстану на дом Иеровоамов с мечем.

10 И послал Амазия, священник Вефильский, к Иеровоаму, царю Израилеву, сказать: `Амос делает возмущение против тебя в доме Израилевом; не может земля терпеть всех слов его.

11 Ибо так говорит Амос: `Иеровоам умрет от меча, и Израиль из земли своей переселится`.

12 И сказал Амазия Амосу: прозорливец! поди себе, беги в землю Иудину, и там ешь хлеб, и там пророчествуй;

13 В Вефиле же не пророчествуй впредь, потому что он святыня царя, - это дом царства.

14 И отвечал Амос, и сказал Амазии: я не пророк, и не сын пророческий; но я пастух, и возделывал сикоморы.

15 Но Иегова взял меня от стада овец, и сказал мне Иегова: поди, пророчествуй народу Моему, Израилю.

16 Итак выслушай слово Иеговы. Ты говоришь: `не пророчествуй на Израиля, и не кропи на дом Исааков`.

17 Посему так говорит Иегова: жена твоя в городе будет блудить; а сыновья твои и дочери твои от меча падут, и земля твоя веревкою будет разделена; а ты умрешь на земле нечистой, и Израиль будет переселен из земли своей.

Chapter 7

1 THUS has the LORD God showed me: behold, a plague of locusts coming up in the beginning of springing up of the latter growth; and, 1o, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

2 And it came to pass when they had finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, O LORD God, forgive. Who shall raise up Jacob? For he is small in numbers.

3 Then the LORD averted this calamity: it shall not be.

4 Thus has the LORD God showed me: and, behold, the LORD God called the people to judge them by fire, and it devoured the great deep and did eat up a part.

5 Then I said, O LORD God, forgive. Who shall raise up Jacob? For he is small in numbers.

6 The LORD averted this calamity; this also shall not be.

7 Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD was standing upon a wall made of adamant, and a plumbline was in his hand.

8 And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more:

9 And the absurd shrines of Israel shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel, and the land cannot bear all his words.

11 For thus Amos is saying: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be carried away captive out of their own land.

12 Also Amaziah said to Amos, O you seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;

13 But prophesy, not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king's sanctuary and it is the house of the kingdom.

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, neither a prophet's son; but I was a shepherd and a gatherer of wild figs;

15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy against my people Israel.

16 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against the house of Israel and do not teach against the house of Isaac.

17 Therefore thus says the LORD: Your wife shall play the harlot in your own city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a polluted land; and Israel shall surely be carried away captive from his land.

8 And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more:

9 И будут опустошены высоты Исааковы, и разорены святилища Израилевы; и восстану на дом Иеровоамов с мечем.

12 И сказал Амазия Амосу: прозорливец! поди себе, беги в землю Иудину, и там ешь хлеб, и там пророчествуй;

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, neither a prophet's son; but I was a shepherd and a gatherer of wild figs;

15 Но Иегова взял меня от стада овец, и сказал мне Иегова: поди, пророчествуй народу Моему, Израилю.

15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy against my people Israel.

16 Итак выслушай слово Иеговы. Ты говоришь: `не пророчествуй на Израиля, и не кропи на дом Исааков`.

16 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against the house of Israel and do not teach against the house of Isaac.
