Послание апостола Павла христианам в Риме

Глава 14

1 Слабого в вере принимайте в свою среду, не споря с ним о его взглядах.

2 Кто-то верит, скажем, что можно есть всё, а слабый только растительную пищу принимает.

3 Тому, кто ест, не следует презирать того, кто не ест, и кто не ест, не должен осуждать того, кто ест: ведь Бог и его принял, как тебя!

4 И кто ты такой, чтобы судить чужого слугу? Перед своим господином стоит он или падает и будет стоять, ибо Господь силен поддержать его.

5 Иной считает, что один какой-то день важнее прочих, а для другого — все они равны. Важно, чтобы каждый был тверд в своих убеждениях.

6 Кто чтит особо какой-то день, в честь Господа делает это. Кто ест — в честь Господа ест, поскольку благодарит Бога, и тот, кто не ест, не ест с мыслью о Господе — он тоже благодарит Бога.

7 Никто из нас не живет, равно никто из нас и не умирает для себя.

8 Если живем — для Господа живем, а когда умираем — для Господа и умираем. Одним словом, живем ли, умираем ли — мы всегда Господни.

9 Христос для того умер, а потом и ожил вновь, чтобы стать Ему Господом и мертвых и живых.

10 Как же можешь ты судить брата своего? А ты как смеешь презирать брата своего? Ведь мы все перед Божиим судом предстанем.

11 Написано же: «Как верно то, что Я живу, — говорит Господь, — так и то, что предо Мной преклонится всякое колено, и всякий язык воздаст хвалу Богу».

12 Итак, каждый из нас за себя даст отчет [Богу].

13 Так не будем же судить друг друга, положим лучше для себя не делать никогда того, что может оказаться препятствием или камнем преткновения на пути брата нашего.

14 В Господе Иисусе знаю я и уверен в том, что нет такой пищи, которая сама по себе была бы нечиста; только то, что человек считает нечистым, оказывается для него нечистым.

15 Если брат твой смущается и огорчается тем, что ты ешь, то ты не по любви поступаешь; не губи своей пищей того, за кого умер Христос.

16 Не давайте никому повода злословить о том, что для вас хорошо.

17 Царство Божие — это ведь не еда и не питье, а праведность, и мир, и радость, даруемые Духом Святым.

18 И если человек таким образом служит Христу, он Богу угоден, и люди его уважают.

19 Так будем же всегда искать тот путь, что ведет нас к миру и взаимному укреплению в вере.

20 Ради пищи не разрушай дела Божьего. Даже если всё само по себе чисто, всё равно худо, если человек пищей своей кладет камень преткновения на пути другого.

21 Хорошо не есть мяса, не пить вина и вообще не делать ничего такого, что может стать камнем преткновения для брата твоего.

22 В себе самом, перед Богом, держись того, [в чем] ты уверен. Блажен, кто может принимать решения без опасений.

23 А кто испытывает сомнение и, однако, ест, тот уже осужден, ибо поступает не по вере; а всё, что не по вере делается, — грех.

Romans

Chapter 14

1 He who is weak in the faith, assist him. And be consistent in your reasoning.

2 For one believes that he may eat all things: another who is weak, eats vegetables.

3 Let not him who eats despise him who eats not; and let not him who eats not judge him who eats: for God has received him also.

4 Who are you to judge another man's servant? for if he is a success, he is a success to his master; and if he is a failure, he is a failure to his master. As for his success, he will succeed for it is in the power of his master to make him succeed.

5 One person values one day above another: another values all days alike. Let every man be sure in his own mind.

6 He who is mindful concerning a day's duty is considerate of his master; and every one who is not mindful concerning a day's duty, is inconsiderate of his master. And he who is wasteful, is detrimental to his master even though he confesses it to God; and he who is not wasteful, is not wasteful to his master, yet he likewise tells it to God.

7 For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself.

8 For whether we live, we live unto our LORD; and whether we die, we die unto our LORD: whether we live therefore, or die, we belong to our LORD.

9 For to this end even Christ both died and came back to life, and rose to be LORD both of the dead and living.

10 Why, then, do you judge your brother? or why do you despise your brother? for we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 For it is written, As I live, said the LORD, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess me.

12 So then every one of us shall answer for himself to God.

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but rather be mindful of this, that you should never place a stumblingblock in the way of your brother.

14 For I know, and I have confidence in the LORD Jesus, that nothing unclean comes from him: but to him who believes a thing to be unclean, to him only is it unclean.

15 But now if you have caused your brother to grieve on account of meat, then you are not living in harmony. Do not make food a cause to destroy a man for whose sake Christ died.

16 Let not our blessings be a reproach to any one:

17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and is approved by men.

19 Now let us strive after peace, and help one another.

20 And let us not, because of food, destroy the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is wrong for the man who eats with offence.

21 It is better that we neither eat meat nor drink wine nor do any other thing whereby we cause our brother to stumble.

22 You who have a certain belief, keep it to yourself, before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself by doing those things which he believes to be wrong.

23 For he who is doubtful and eats, violates his beliefs: for whatever is not of faith, is sin. The strong must help the weak.

3 Let not him who eats despise him who eats not; and let not him who eats not judge him who eats: for God has received him also.

4 И кто ты такой, чтобы судить чужого слугу? Перед своим господином стоит он или падает и будет стоять, ибо Господь силен поддержать его.

4 Who are you to judge another man's servant? for if he is a success, he is a success to his master; and if he is a failure, he is a failure to his master. As for his success, he will succeed for it is in the power of his master to make him succeed.

5 Иной считает, что один какой-то день важнее прочих, а для другого — все они равны. Важно, чтобы каждый был тверд в своих убеждениях.

5 One person values one day above another: another values all days alike. Let every man be sure in his own mind.

6 Кто чтит особо какой-то день, в честь Господа делает это. Кто ест — в честь Господа ест, поскольку благодарит Бога, и тот, кто не ест, не ест с мыслью о Господе — он тоже благодарит Бога.

6 He who is mindful concerning a day's duty is considerate of his master; and every one who is not mindful concerning a day's duty, is inconsiderate of his master. And he who is wasteful, is detrimental to his master even though he confesses it to God; and he who is not wasteful, is not wasteful to his master, yet he likewise tells it to God.

7 Никто из нас не живет, равно никто из нас и не умирает для себя.

7 For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself.

8 Если живем — для Господа живем, а когда умираем — для Господа и умираем. Одним словом, живем ли, умираем ли — мы всегда Господни.

8 For whether we live, we live unto our LORD; and whether we die, we die unto our LORD: whether we live therefore, or die, we belong to our LORD.

9 Христос для того умер, а потом и ожил вновь, чтобы стать Ему Господом и мертвых и живых.

9 For to this end even Christ both died and came back to life, and rose to be LORD both of the dead and living.

10 Как же можешь ты судить брата своего? А ты как смеешь презирать брата своего? Ведь мы все перед Божиим судом предстанем.

10 Why, then, do you judge your brother? or why do you despise your brother? for we must all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11 Написано же: «Как верно то, что Я живу, — говорит Господь, — так и то, что предо Мной преклонится всякое колено, и всякий язык воздаст хвалу Богу».

11 For it is written, As I live, said the LORD, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess me.

12 Итак, каждый из нас за себя даст отчет [Богу].

12 So then every one of us shall answer for himself to God.

13 Так не будем же судить друг друга, положим лучше для себя не делать никогда того, что может оказаться препятствием или камнем преткновения на пути брата нашего.

13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but rather be mindful of this, that you should never place a stumblingblock in the way of your brother.

14 В Господе Иисусе знаю я и уверен в том, что нет такой пищи, которая сама по себе была бы нечиста; только то, что человек считает нечистым, оказывается для него нечистым.

14 For I know, and I have confidence in the LORD Jesus, that nothing unclean comes from him: but to him who believes a thing to be unclean, to him only is it unclean.

15 Если брат твой смущается и огорчается тем, что ты ешь, то ты не по любви поступаешь; не губи своей пищей того, за кого умер Христос.

15 But now if you have caused your brother to grieve on account of meat, then you are not living in harmony. Do not make food a cause to destroy a man for whose sake Christ died.

16 Не давайте никому повода злословить о том, что для вас хорошо.

16 Let not our blessings be a reproach to any one:

17 Царство Божие — это ведь не еда и не питье, а праведность, и мир, и радость, даруемые Духом Святым.

17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18 И если человек таким образом служит Христу, он Богу угоден, и люди его уважают.

18 For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and is approved by men.

19 Так будем же всегда искать тот путь, что ведет нас к миру и взаимному укреплению в вере.

19 Now let us strive after peace, and help one another.

20 Ради пищи не разрушай дела Божьего. Даже если всё само по себе чисто, всё равно худо, если человек пищей своей кладет камень преткновения на пути другого.

20 And let us not, because of food, destroy the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is wrong for the man who eats with offence.

21 Хорошо не есть мяса, не пить вина и вообще не делать ничего такого, что может стать камнем преткновения для брата твоего.

21 It is better that we neither eat meat nor drink wine nor do any other thing whereby we cause our brother to stumble.

22 В себе самом, перед Богом, держись того, [в чем] ты уверен. Блажен, кто может принимать решения без опасений.

22 You who have a certain belief, keep it to yourself, before God. Blessed is he who does not condemn himself by doing those things which he believes to be wrong.

23 А кто испытывает сомнение и, однако, ест, тот уже осужден, ибо поступает не по вере; а всё, что не по вере делается, — грех.

23 For he who is doubtful and eats, violates his beliefs: for whatever is not of faith, is sin. The strong must help the weak.
