Глава 24

1 Допустим, что некто, вступив в брак с женщиной, начинает жить с ней, но она не может снискать его расположения: он находит в ней нечто неприятное для себя и потому пишет ей разводное свидетельство, отдает его в руки этой женщине и удаляет ее из своего дома;

2 положим, уйдя от него, она становится женой другого мужчины.

3 А если и этот второй ее муж тоже, в свой черед, невзлюбит ее и напишет ей разводное свидетельство и, вручив ей его, удалит из дома своего (или этот второй муж после женитьбы на ней умрет);

4 тогда ее первому мужу, который разводился с нею, нельзя снова вступить в брак с этой женщиной после того, как она стала нечистой для него. Для ГОСПОДА это омерзительно! Ту землю, которую ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, дает тебе как наследство, не пятнай этим грехом.

5 Тому, кто только что женился, не нужно идти на войну; и вообще на него не следует возлагать никаких обязанностей. Пусть остается он у себя дома, освобожденный от службы на целый год, чтобы радовать свою молодую жену.

6 Никто пусть не берет в залог верхнего или нижнего жернова — это ведь всё равно что взять в залог у человека жизнь.

7 Если некто будет пойман при попытке похищения одного из братьев своих, израильтян, с целью поработить его или при попытке продать его, то такого вора должно предать смерти. Злу этому не место среди вас, искорените его!

8 Будь осторожен при появлении проказы, во всем, что касается этой болезни, строго исполняй все предписания, которым научат вас священники из колена Левия согласно тому, что я повелел им.

9 Помни, как ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, поступил с Мариам, когда шли вы из Египта.

10 Если ты даешь взаймы что-либо ближнему, не входи в его дом за залогом.

11 Постой и подожди снаружи. Пусть тот, кому ты даешь взаймы, сам вынесет тебе залог.

12 Если он беден, не ложись спать, не отдав залог его, в том случае когда им оказалась одежда его:

13 возврати залог до захода солнца, чтобы было чем укрыться несчастному, когда будет ложиться спать, — благословит он тебя тогда. И в очах ГОСПОДА, Бога твоего, то будет праведный поступок.

14 Не угнетай наемного работника, бедствующего и сильно нуждающегося, будь то один из братьев твоих или человек пришлый, что живет в земле вашей, в одном из ваших городов.

15 Дневной заработок его отдавай ему в тот же день, до захода солнца, ведь он беден и кое-как сводит концы с концами. Коли удержишь заработок его, воззовет он к ГОСПОДУ, посетует на тебя — и на тебе будет грех!

16 Родителей нельзя предавать смерти за их детей, равно и дети не должны караться за вину родителей. Приговорить человека к смертной казни можно лишь за его собственное преступление.

17 Не лишай правосудия ни человека пришлого, ни сироту. У вдовы не бери в залог ее верхнюю одежду.

18 Помни, что и ты был рабом в Египте и что ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, за освобождение твое выкуп отдал. Потому-то я и повелеваю тебе всё это делать.

19 Если, убирая урожай, забудешь один-другой сноп в поле, не возвращайся за ним. Пусть достанется он человеку пришлому, сироте и вдове, дабы благословил тебя ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, во всех трудах твоих.

20 И когда будешь обивать масличные деревья свои, не пытайся собрать с ветвей всё до последней оливки: оставшееся на них для человека пришлого, сироты и вдовы.

21 Не обирай свой виноградник дочиста. Оставшееся на лозе достанется человеку пришлому, сироте и вдове.

22 Помни, что и ты был рабом в Египте, потому-то я и повелеваю тебе всё это делать.

Deuteronomy

Chapter 24

1 IF a man takes a wife, and lies with her, and if she finds no favor in his eyes, because he has found some evidence of open prostitution in her; then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it to her, and send her out of his house.

2 And when she has left his house, and if she goes and becomes another man's wife,

3 And if that husband hates her, and writes her a bill of divorcement, and gives it to her, and sends her out of his house, or if that husband who took her to be his wife dies;

4 Then her former husband, who sent her away, has no right to take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD; and you shall not cause the land to sin, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.

5 When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army, neither shall he be charged with any business; but he shall be free at his home for one year, and shall rejoice with his wife whom he has taken.

6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone as a pledge; for he takes a man's life to pledge.

7 If a man of the children of Israel is found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, to make merchandise of him, or sell him; then that thief shall surely die; and you shall put evil away from among you.

8 Take heed in the plague of leprosy, and be exceedingly careful, and do according to all that the priests and the Levites shall teach you; as I commanded them, so you shall be careful to do.

9 Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam on the way, after you came forth out of Egypt.

10 If your neighbor owes you a debt, you shall not go into his house to fetch his pledge.

11 But you shall wait in the street, and the man who is your debtor shall bring out the pledge to you.

12 And if the man is poor, you shall not sleep with his mantle.

13 But you shall return to him his mantle again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own mantle, and bless you; and it shall be righteousness to you before the LORD your God.

14 You shall not cheat the wages of a hired laborer who is poor and needy, whether he is of your brethren or of the strangers who are in your cities;

15 But you shall pay him his wages on the same day, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and it is because of his wages that he places himself at your disposal; lest he cry against you to the LORD, and it be sin against you.

16 The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, neither shall the children be put to death for their fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17 You shall not pervert the justice due to the stranger, nor to the orphan; nor take a widow's garment as a pledge;

18 But you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD your God delivered you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing:

19 When you reap the harvest in your field, and have forgotten a sheaf in the field, you shall not return to fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the works of your hands.

20 When you beat your olive trees, you shall not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, for the orphan, and for the widow.

21 When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

22 And you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt; therefore I command you to do this thing.

1 Допустим, что некто, вступив в брак с женщиной, начинает жить с ней, но она не может снискать его расположения: он находит в ней нечто неприятное для себя и потому пишет ей разводное свидетельство, отдает его в руки этой женщине и удаляет ее из своего дома;

2 положим, уйдя от него, она становится женой другого мужчины.

2 And when she has left his house, and if she goes and becomes another man's wife,

3 А если и этот второй ее муж тоже, в свой черед, невзлюбит ее и напишет ей разводное свидетельство и, вручив ей его, удалит из дома своего (или этот второй муж после женитьбы на ней умрет);

3 And if that husband hates her, and writes her a bill of divorcement, and gives it to her, and sends her out of his house, or if that husband who took her to be his wife dies;

4 тогда ее первому мужу, который разводился с нею, нельзя снова вступить в брак с этой женщиной после того, как она стала нечистой для него. Для ГОСПОДА это омерзительно! Ту землю, которую ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, дает тебе как наследство, не пятнай этим грехом.

4 Then her former husband, who sent her away, has no right to take her again to be his wife, after she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before the LORD; and you shall not cause the land to sin, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance.

5 Тому, кто только что женился, не нужно идти на войну; и вообще на него не следует возлагать никаких обязанностей. Пусть остается он у себя дома, освобожденный от службы на целый год, чтобы радовать свою молодую жену.

5 When a man takes a new wife, he shall not go out with the army, neither shall he be charged with any business; but he shall be free at his home for one year, and shall rejoice with his wife whom he has taken.

6 Никто пусть не берет в залог верхнего или нижнего жернова — это ведь всё равно что взять в залог у человека жизнь.

6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone as a pledge; for he takes a man's life to pledge.

9 Remember what the LORD your God did to Miriam on the way, after you came forth out of Egypt.

10 Если ты даешь взаймы что-либо ближнему, не входи в его дом за залогом.

10 If your neighbor owes you a debt, you shall not go into his house to fetch his pledge.

11 Постой и подожди снаружи. Пусть тот, кому ты даешь взаймы, сам вынесет тебе залог.

11 But you shall wait in the street, and the man who is your debtor shall bring out the pledge to you.

12 Если он беден, не ложись спать, не отдав залог его, в том случае когда им оказалась одежда его:

12 And if the man is poor, you shall not sleep with his mantle.

13 возврати залог до захода солнца, чтобы было чем укрыться несчастному, когда будет ложиться спать, — благословит он тебя тогда. И в очах ГОСПОДА, Бога твоего, то будет праведный поступок.

13 But you shall return to him his mantle again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own mantle, and bless you; and it shall be righteousness to you before the LORD your God.

14 Не угнетай наемного работника, бедствующего и сильно нуждающегося, будь то один из братьев твоих или человек пришлый, что живет в земле вашей, в одном из ваших городов.

14 You shall not cheat the wages of a hired laborer who is poor and needy, whether he is of your brethren or of the strangers who are in your cities;

15 Дневной заработок его отдавай ему в тот же день, до захода солнца, ведь он беден и кое-как сводит концы с концами. Коли удержишь заработок его, воззовет он к ГОСПОДУ, посетует на тебя — и на тебе будет грех!

15 But you shall pay him his wages on the same day, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and it is because of his wages that he places himself at your disposal; lest he cry against you to the LORD, and it be sin against you.

16 Родителей нельзя предавать смерти за их детей, равно и дети не должны караться за вину родителей. Приговорить человека к смертной казни можно лишь за его собственное преступление.

16 The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, neither shall the children be put to death for their fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17 Не лишай правосудия ни человека пришлого, ни сироту. У вдовы не бери в залог ее верхнюю одежду.

17 You shall not pervert the justice due to the stranger, nor to the orphan; nor take a widow's garment as a pledge;

18 Помни, что и ты был рабом в Египте и что ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, за освобождение твое выкуп отдал. Потому-то я и повелеваю тебе всё это делать.

18 But you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD your God delivered you from there; therefore I command you to do this thing:

19 Если, убирая урожай, забудешь один-другой сноп в поле, не возвращайся за ним. Пусть достанется он человеку пришлому, сироте и вдове, дабы благословил тебя ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, во всех трудах твоих.
