Глава 17

1 Не приноси в жертву ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему, крупный или мелкий рогатый скот с изъяном каким, некой порчей, потому что это возмутительное непочтение к ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему.

2 [2-3] Если среди вас в одном из городов, которые дарует вам ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, найдется какой-нибудь человек — мужчина ли, женщина, который, вопреки моему наказу, совершит дело, в очах ГОСПОДА, Бога вашего, злое: нарушив Завет, пренебрегши Союзом с Ним, станет служить иным богам и будет повергаться пред ними для поклонения, пред солнцем ли, луной и звездами, всем воинством небесным,

4 тогда, как только тебе стало что-то известно об этом, тщательно расследуй это дело. Если найдешь, что это верно, что и в самом деле совершено было это мерзкое дело в Израиле,

5 мужчину того или женщину — любого, сотворившего сие зло, надо вывести к воротам и насмерть побить камнями.

6 Но казнить их следует по показаниям двух или трех свидетелей. Показаний одного свидетеля для вынесения смертного приговора недостаточно.

7 И первые камни должны бросить свидетели, а после этого — весь остальной народ. Злу этому не место среди вас, искорените его!

8 Некоторые дела могут оказаться слишком трудными для тебя, чтобы вынести по ним решение в твоем городе: было ли убийство случайным или преднамеренным, правомочны ли притязания в тяжбах, справедлива ли мера возмездия за увечья, — иди с ними без промедления на то место, какое ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, изберет.

9 Обратись к священникам из колена Левия и к судье, который будет там в те дни; спроси у них, и они объявят тебе решение по этому делу.

10 А ты после того должен поступить так, как они решили на месте, ГОСПОДОМ избранном. Непременно исполни всё, чему они тебя научат.

11 Точно выполни указание, которое они дали тебе, или то постановление, что огласили. Ни вправо, ни влево ни шагу не отступай от объявленного тебе решения!

12 А кто в высокомерии своем дерзнет ослушаться священника, поставленного на служение пред ГОСПОДОМ, Богом твоим, или судью, тот смерти должен быть предан. Так вы искорените зло в Израиле.

13 И когда люди услышат об этом, станут они впредь остерегаться вести себя высокомерно.

14 После того как вы придете в страну, которую ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, дарует вам, и овладеете ею, и, живя там, скажете: „Хотим поставить у себя царя, как это заведено у соседних народов“,

15 то делайте царем непременно того, кого изберет Сам ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш. Царя поставляйте только из соплеменников своих — им не может быть иноземец, не израильтянин.

16 Такой царь, однако, не должен заводить у себя слишком много коней и, чтобы увеличивать свою конницу, отправлять за лошадьми людей в Египет, ибо ГОСПОДЬ запретил вам когда-либо вновь ходить туда.

17 Не должен царь брать себе много жен, иначе он станет на путь отступничества. И, конечно, не дело царя — заботиться о том, чтобы накопить себе побольше серебра и золота.

18 Когда взойдет он на престол, пусть сделает для себя список с Закона, что хранится у священников, потомков Левия.

19 Пусть этот список будет у царя под рукой, чтобы мог он перечитывать его всю жизнь и учиться почитать ГОСПОДА, Бога своего, охотно повиноваться всему, что говорит сей Закон, исполнять сии установления

20 и, не превозносясь над своими соплеменниками, не отклоняться от этой заповеди ни вправо, ни влево; тогда он и потомки его будут долго править Израилем.

1 YOU shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or a lamb wherein is blemish, or anything impious; for that is an abomination in the sight of the LORD your God.

2 If there is found among you, within any of your towns which the LORD your God gives you, a man or a woman who shall do evil in the sight of the LORD your God and transgress his covenant,

3 And shall go and serve other gods and worship them, either the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

4 And it is told you, and you shall hear of it, you shall inquire diligently, and if it is true that such an abomination has been committed in Israel;

5 Then you shall bring forth that man or that woman who has committed that wicked thing within your towns, whether he is a man or a woman; and you shall stone him with stones, till he die.

6 On the testimony of two witnesses or three witnesses shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but on the testimony of one witness he shall not be put to death.

7 And the hand of the witnesses shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall destroy the evildoers from among you.

8 If there arise a matter which is too difficult for you to judge, between murder and murder, between lawsuit and lawsuit, and between a sore of leprosy and a sore of leprosy, any matters of controversy within your towns; then you shall arise and go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose for himself;

9 And you shall come to the priest, or the Levite, or to the judge who shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment;

10 And you shall do according to the decision which they of that place shall show you, as the LORD has commanded; and you shall observe to do according to all that they teach you;

11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall declare to you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do; you shall not swerve from the sentence which they shall show you, neither to the right hand nor to the left.

12 And the man who will do presumptuously, and will not hearken to the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, that man shall be put to death; you shall destroy the evildoers from Israel.

13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 When you shall come to the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell therein, and shall say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

15 You shall in any wise set a king over you whom the LORD your God shall choose; one from among your brethren you shall set king over you; it is unlawful for you to set a foreigner over you, who is not from among your brethren.

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, that he may not cause the people to return to Egypt, when his horses have multiplied; since the LORD has said to you, You shall never return that way again.

17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that they may not cause his heart to turn away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 And when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests and the Levites;

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law, and these commandments, to do them;

20 That his heart may not be lifted up above his brethren, and that he may not turn aside from the commandments, neither to the right hand nor to the left; so that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.

1 Не приноси в жертву ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему, крупный или мелкий рогатый скот с изъяном каким, некой порчей, потому что это возмутительное непочтение к ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему.

1 YOU shall not sacrifice to the LORD your God an ox or a lamb wherein is blemish, or anything impious; for that is an abomination in the sight of the LORD your God.

2 [2-3] Если среди вас в одном из городов, которые дарует вам ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, найдется какой-нибудь человек — мужчина ли, женщина, который, вопреки моему наказу, совершит дело, в очах ГОСПОДА, Бога вашего, злое: нарушив Завет, пренебрегши Союзом с Ним, станет служить иным богам и будет повергаться пред ними для поклонения, пред солнцем ли, луной и звездами, всем воинством небесным,

2 If there is found among you, within any of your towns which the LORD your God gives you, a man or a woman who shall do evil in the sight of the LORD your God and transgress his covenant,

3 And shall go and serve other gods and worship them, either the sun, or the moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

4 тогда, как только тебе стало что-то известно об этом, тщательно расследуй это дело. Если найдешь, что это верно, что и в самом деле совершено было это мерзкое дело в Израиле,

4 And it is told you, and you shall hear of it, you shall inquire diligently, and if it is true that such an abomination has been committed in Israel;

5 мужчину того или женщину — любого, сотворившего сие зло, надо вывести к воротам и насмерть побить камнями.

5 Then you shall bring forth that man or that woman who has committed that wicked thing within your towns, whether he is a man or a woman; and you shall stone him with stones, till he die.

6 Но казнить их следует по показаниям двух или трех свидетелей. Показаний одного свидетеля для вынесения смертного приговора недостаточно.

6 On the testimony of two witnesses or three witnesses shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but on the testimony of one witness he shall not be put to death.

7 И первые камни должны бросить свидетели, а после этого — весь остальной народ. Злу этому не место среди вас, искорените его!

7 And the hand of the witnesses shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So you shall destroy the evildoers from among you.

8 Некоторые дела могут оказаться слишком трудными для тебя, чтобы вынести по ним решение в твоем городе: было ли убийство случайным или преднамеренным, правомочны ли притязания в тяжбах, справедлива ли мера возмездия за увечья, — иди с ними без промедления на то место, какое ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, изберет.

8 If there arise a matter which is too difficult for you to judge, between murder and murder, between lawsuit and lawsuit, and between a sore of leprosy and a sore of leprosy, any matters of controversy within your towns; then you shall arise and go to the place which the LORD your God shall choose for himself;

9 Обратись к священникам из колена Левия и к судье, который будет там в те дни; спроси у них, и они объявят тебе решение по этому делу.

9 And you shall come to the priest, or the Levite, or to the judge who shall be in those days, and inquire; and they shall show you the sentence of judgment;

10 А ты после того должен поступить так, как они решили на месте, ГОСПОДОМ избранном. Непременно исполни всё, чему они тебя научат.

10 And you shall do according to the decision which they of that place shall show you, as the LORD has commanded; and you shall observe to do according to all that they teach you;

11 Точно выполни указание, которое они дали тебе, или то постановление, что огласили. Ни вправо, ни влево ни шагу не отступай от объявленного тебе решения!

11 According to the sentence of the law which they shall declare to you, and according to the judgment which they shall tell you, you shall do; you shall not swerve from the sentence which they shall show you, neither to the right hand nor to the left.

12 А кто в высокомерии своем дерзнет ослушаться священника, поставленного на служение пред ГОСПОДОМ, Богом твоим, или судью, тот смерти должен быть предан. Так вы искорените зло в Израиле.

12 And the man who will do presumptuously, and will not hearken to the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or to the judge, that man shall be put to death; you shall destroy the evildoers from Israel.

13 И когда люди услышат об этом, станут они впредь остерегаться вести себя высокомерно.

13 And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

14 После того как вы придете в страну, которую ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, дарует вам, и овладеете ею, и, живя там, скажете: „Хотим поставить у себя царя, как это заведено у соседних народов“,

14 When you shall come to the land which the LORD your God gives you, and you shall possess it and dwell therein, and shall say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;

15 то делайте царем непременно того, кого изберет Сам ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш. Царя поставляйте только из соплеменников своих — им не может быть иноземец, не израильтянин.

15 You shall in any wise set a king over you whom the LORD your God shall choose; one from among your brethren you shall set king over you; it is unlawful for you to set a foreigner over you, who is not from among your brethren.

16 Такой царь, однако, не должен заводить у себя слишком много коней и, чтобы увеличивать свою конницу, отправлять за лошадьми людей в Египет, ибо ГОСПОДЬ запретил вам когда-либо вновь ходить туда.

16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, that he may not cause the people to return to Egypt, when his horses have multiplied; since the LORD has said to you, You shall never return that way again.

17 Не должен царь брать себе много жен, иначе он станет на путь отступничества. И, конечно, не дело царя — заботиться о том, чтобы накопить себе побольше серебра и золота.

17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that they may not cause his heart to turn away; neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.

18 Когда взойдет он на престол, пусть сделает для себя список с Закона, что хранится у священников, потомков Левия.

18 And when he sits upon the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests and the Levites;

19 Пусть этот список будет у царя под рукой, чтобы мог он перечитывать его всю жизнь и учиться почитать ГОСПОДА, Бога своего, охотно повиноваться всему, что говорит сей Закон, исполнять сии установления

19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law, and these commandments, to do them;

20 и, не превозносясь над своими соплеменниками, не отклоняться от этой заповеди ни вправо, ни влево; тогда он и потомки его будут долго править Израилем.

20 That his heart may not be lifted up above his brethren, and that he may not turn aside from the commandments, neither to the right hand nor to the left; so that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.
