Глава 16

1 Время шло, а Сара, жена Аврама, всё никак не могла родить ему наследника. Подумала она как-то о рабыне, что была у нее, о египтянке по имени Агарь.

2 И сказала тогда Сара Авраму: «Ты видишь, не дал мне ГОСПОДЬ благословения такого — рожать детей. Возьми же рабыню мою. Может быть, через нее у меня будут дети». Внял Аврам словам Сары.

3 Взяла Сара, жена Аврама, рабыню свою, египтянку Агарь, и привела ее к Авраму, мужу своему, как жену. (К тому времени прошло уже десять лет, как Аврам поселился в Ханаане.)

4 Он стал жить с Агарью, и та зачала от него. И как только Агарь поняла, что у нее будет ребенок, стала она презирать госпожу свою.

5 «Ты в ответе за обиду, которую я терплю! — заявила Сара Авраму. — Не я ли сама отдала в наложницы тебе рабыню мою? А она, с тех пор как зачала, ни во что уже не ставит меня. ГОСПОДЬ пусть нас рассудит!»

6 «Она твоя рабыня; ты и делай с ней, что хочешь!» — ответил Аврам. Стала Сара притеснять Агарь, и та убежала от нее.

7 Ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ нашел Агарь у источника в пустыне, у источника при дороге, что вела в Шур.

8 «Агарь, рабыня Сарина, — спросил он ее, — откуда идешь ты и куда?» «Я бегу от Сары, госпожи моей», — ответила та.

9 «Возвратись к госпоже своей и покорись ей», — повелел ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ.

10 И добавил от имени ГОСПОДА: «Я сделаю потомство твое столь многочисленным, что невозможно будет его сосчитать».

11 И еще сказал ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ: «Знай, ты зачала и родишь сына и Измаилом его назовешь, ибо в страдании твоем услышал тебя ГОСПОДЬ.

12 Диким человеком пустыни будет твой сын — как осел неукрощенный; он против всех — все против него; он будет жить восточнее всех братьев своих».

13 И назвала Агарь ГОСПОДА, говорившего с нею: «Ты — Эль-Рои». Ибо она сказала себе: «Я видела здесь Того, Кто меня видит!»

14 (Поэтому и колодец тот, что до сих пор там, между Кадешем и Бередом, называется: Беэр-Лахай-Рои.)

15 И родила Агарь Авраму сына, которого Аврам назвал Измаилом.

16 (Восемьдесят шесть лет было Авраму, когда она родила Измаила.)

Genesis

Chapter 16

1 NOW Sarai, Abram's wife, bore him no children; and she had an Egyptian handmaid, whose name was Hagar.

2 And Sarai said to Abram, Behold now, the LORD has restrained me from bearing children; therefore go in unto my maid; it may be that I may be consoled by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

3 And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar her Egyptian maid, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. This happened after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.

4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

5 And Sarai said to Abram, My wrong be upon you; I gave my maid into your bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes; may the LORD judge between me and you.

6 But Abram said to Sarai his wife, Behold your maid is at your disposal; do to her as it pleases you. And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her.

7 And the angel of the LORD found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain on the road to Gadar.

8 And he said to her, Hagar, maid of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going? And she said, I flee from the presence of my mistress Sarai.

9 And the angel of the LORD said to her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands.

10 And again the angel of the LORD said to her, I will greatly multiply your descendants, that they can not be numbered because of their multitude.

11 And the angel of the LORD said to her, Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son, and you shall call his name Ishmael; because the LORD has heard of your afflictions.

12 And he will be like a wild ass among men; with his hand against every man, and every man's hand against him, and he shall dwell on the borders of all his brethren.

13 And she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, and said, Thou art God whom I saw; for she said, Behold, I have also seen a vision after he had seen me.

14 Therefore she called the well, Beer-di-khaya-khizan (which means, the well of the Living One who saw me). Behold, it is between Rakim and Gadar.

15 And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called his son's name, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

16 And Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to him.

3 Взяла Сара, жена Аврама, рабыню свою, египтянку Агарь, и привела ее к Авраму, мужу своему, как жену. (К тому времени прошло уже десять лет, как Аврам поселился в Ханаане.)

3 And Sarai, Abram's wife, took Hagar her Egyptian maid, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. This happened after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan.

4 Он стал жить с Агарью, и та зачала от него. И как только Агарь поняла, что у нее будет ребенок, стала она презирать госпожу свою.

4 And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes.

5 «Ты в ответе за обиду, которую я терплю! — заявила Сара Авраму. — Не я ли сама отдала в наложницы тебе рабыню мою? А она, с тех пор как зачала, ни во что уже не ставит меня. ГОСПОДЬ пусть нас рассудит!»

5 And Sarai said to Abram, My wrong be upon you; I gave my maid into your bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes; may the LORD judge between me and you.

6 «Она твоя рабыня; ты и делай с ней, что хочешь!» — ответил Аврам. Стала Сара притеснять Агарь, и та убежала от нее.

6 But Abram said to Sarai his wife, Behold your maid is at your disposal; do to her as it pleases you. And when Sarai dealt harshly with her, she fled from her.

7 Ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ нашел Агарь у источника в пустыне, у источника при дороге, что вела в Шур.

8 «Агарь, рабыня Сарина, — спросил он ее, — откуда идешь ты и куда?» «Я бегу от Сары, госпожи моей», — ответила та.

8 And he said to her, Hagar, maid of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going? And she said, I flee from the presence of my mistress Sarai.

9 «Возвратись к госпоже своей и покорись ей», — повелел ангел ГОСПОДЕНЬ.

9 And the angel of the LORD said to her, Return to your mistress, and submit yourself under her hands.

10 И добавил от имени ГОСПОДА: «Я сделаю потомство твое столь многочисленным, что невозможно будет его сосчитать».

10 And again the angel of the LORD said to her, I will greatly multiply your descendants, that they can not be numbered because of their multitude.

11 And the angel of the LORD said to her, Behold, you are with child, and shall bear a son, and you shall call his name Ishmael; because the LORD has heard of your afflictions.

13 И назвала Агарь ГОСПОДА, говорившего с нею: «Ты — Эль-Рои». Ибо она сказала себе: «Я видела здесь Того, Кто меня видит!»

13 And she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, and said, Thou art God whom I saw; for she said, Behold, I have also seen a vision after he had seen me.

14 (Поэтому и колодец тот, что до сих пор там, между Кадешем и Бередом, называется: Беэр-Лахай-Рои.)

14 Therefore she called the well, Beer-di-khaya-khizan (which means, the well of the Living One who saw me). Behold, it is between Rakim and Gadar.

15 И родила Агарь Авраму сына, которого Аврам назвал Измаилом.

15 And Hagar bore Abram a son; and Abram called his son's name, whom Hagar bore, Ishmael.

16 And Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore Ishmael to him.
