Глава 33

1 Было мне слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

2 «Смертный человек! Возвести своим соплеменникам, скажи им: „Если Я нашлю на какую-либо страну меч, а люди в той стране выберут из своей среды человека и поставят его на страже города,

3 и он увидит, как надвигается на страну меч, и затрубит в рог, чтобы предупредить народ,

4 то всякий, кто, услышав звук рога, не примет предостережение, сам будет виновен в своей гибели, когда придет меч и обрушится на него.

5 И поскольку он слышал звук рога, но не внял предостережению, сам будет виновен в своей гибели. Если бы он принял это предостережение, то мог бы спасти свою жизнь.

6 Но если стоящий на страже, видя надвигающийся меч, не затрубит в рог и не предупредит народ, и нагрянет меч и поразит кого-либо из живущих там, то сраженные мечом погибнут во грехах своих, но за их гибель Я призову к ответу стражника“.

7 Я тебя, смертный, поставил на страже народа Израилева: всякий раз, как услышишь из уст Моих слово, тут же предостерегай их.

8 Если Я скажу злодею: „Смерть тебя ждет, злодей!“, а ты не скажешь ему, не наставишь его свернуть со своего пути, то он умрет за свое преступление, но с тебя Я спрошу за его гибель.

9 А если ты наставишь злодея, подскажешь ему свернуть со своего пути, и он не сделает этого, то он умрет за свое преступление, но ты спасешь свою жизнь.

10 Смертный человек! Вот что скажи роду Израилеву. Вы говорите: „На нас вина в преступлениях наших и грехах, из-за них мы заживо гнием — разве мы можем выжить?“

11 Скажи им: „Жив Я! — клятвенно заверяет Владыка ГОСПОДЬ. — Я не желаю смерти злодею, но чтобы он оставил путь свой и остался жив. Раскайтесь же и оставьте пути зла! Для чего погибать тебе, род Израилев?“

12 Смертный, вот что возвести своим соплеменникам. Не спасет праведника былая праведность, если он совершит преступление. И злодей не погибнет за свои прошлые злодеяния, если он прекратит их, как и праведник не останется жив за свою былую праведность, если начнет грешить.

13 Если Я скажу праведнику: „Жизнь будет дарована тебе!“ — а он, уповая на свою праведность, станет поступать нечестиво, то вся его праведность будет забыта, и он погибнет за свои нечестивые поступки.

14 А если Я скажу злодею: „Тебя ждет смерть!“ — а он, отвратившись от греха, станет поступать справедливо и жить праведно,

15 и если он отдаст должнику залог, возвратит награбленное, станет поступать по заповедям, дарующим жизнь, не делая ничего нечестивого, — ему будет сохранена жизнь, не умрет он!

16 Все прежние его преступления не припомнятся ему. Отныне он поступает справедливо и живет праведно, и потому ему будет дарована жизнь!

17 Но твои соплеменники говорят: „Неправильно поступает Владыка“, тогда как это они неправильно поступают!

18 Если праведник отступится от праведности своей и станет творить зло, за это и погибнет.

19 Если злодей отвратится от греха и станет поступать справедливо и жить праведно, жизнь ему будет сохранена.

20 А вы говорите, что неправильно поступает Владыка! О народ Израилев! Я буду судить каждого из вас по вашим поступкам».

21 На двенадцатый год нашего изгнания, в пятый день десятого месяца, пришел ко мне беженец из Иерусалима и сообщил, что город пал.

22 Но еще накануне вечером, до прихода беженца, коснулась меня рука ГОСПОДНЯ, и Он открыл мне уста. Еще прежде, чем пришел беженец утром, вернулся ко мне дар речи и я более не был безмолвен.

23 И было мне слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

24 «Смертный человек, те люди, что живут среди развалин в стране израильской, говорят: „Авраам был один, но получил эту землю во владение, а нас много — стало быть, эта земля отдана нам во владение!“

25 Потому возвести им, что говорит Владыка ГОСПОДЬ: „Вы едите мясо с кровью, засматриваетесь на идолов своих, кровь невинную проливаете — и что же, будете владеть этой землей?

26 Вы полагаетесь на свой меч, мерзости творите, один бесчестит жену другого — и что же, вам будет отдана эта земля во владение?“

27 Возвести же им то, что клятвенно обещает Владыка ГОСПОДЬ: „Жив Я! Те, кто прячется среди развалин, падут от меча, а кто в чистом поле, тех Я отдам зверям на съедение, а кто в крепостях и пещерах, те погибнут от мора.

28 Страну израильскую Я разорю и превращу в пустыню, придет конец ее горделивому могуществу, опустеют холмы израильские, и никто там не будет ходить.

29 И узнают, что Я — ГОСПОДЬ, когда Я предам разорению эту страну и превращу в пустыню за все мерзости, которые они творили!“

30 Вот как судят о тебе, смертный, твои соплеменники, стоя у стен и толпясь на дворах, говорят друг другу, брат брату: „Пойдем-ка узнаем, какое еще слово пришло от ГОСПОДА!“

31 Да, приходят они к тебе гурьбой, садятся перед тобой, выслушивает народ Мой твои слова, но не исполняет их. Речи их льстивы, а сердце гонится за неправедной прибылью.

32 Ты для них что сладкозвучный певец с красивым голосом, что приятная музыка — вот послушают они твои слова, а исполнять их не станут.

33 А когда нагрянет беда — она уже на пороге! — узнают они, что был среди них пророк».

Ezekiel

Chapter 33

1 AND the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2 Son of man, speak to your own people and say to them, When I bring the sword upon a land, let the people of the land take a man from among them and make him their watchman.

3 And when he sees the sword coming upon them, he shall blow the trumpet and warn the people;

4 Then whosoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not heed the warning, if the sword should come and take his life away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 But if he should take heed, he shall deliver his life.

6 But when the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and does not warn the people, and the sword comes and takes the life from among them, that life is taken away in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at the watchman's hand.

7 So you, O Son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore you shall hear the word from my mouth, you shall warn them from me.

8 When I say to the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die; and you do not speak to the wicked man that he may take heed from his evil way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hands.

9 Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked that he may turn from his evil way; and if he does not turn from his evil way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

10 You therefore, O Son of man, say to the house of Israel. Thus have you spoken, saying, Our iniquity and our sins be upon us, and we are pining away in them; how can we live?

11 Say to them, As I live, says the LORD God, I do not desire the death of the wicked; but that the wicked should turn from his evil way and live; therefore you must repent and turn from your evil ways, and you shall not die, O house of Israel.

12 Therefore, Son of man, say to your own people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day that he sins; as for the iniquity of the wicked, he shall not fall by it in the day when he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.

13 When I shall say to the righteous that he shall surely live, and he trusts in his own righteousness and then commits iniquity, all his righteousness which he had done shall not be remembered to him; but for the iniquity which he has committed, he shall die.

14 Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and he turns from his sins and does that which is just and right,

15 And he shall restore the pledge which he has taken and return what he has acquired unjustly and walk in the commandments of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered to him; but by the justice and righteousness which he has done, he shall surely live.

17 Yet your people say, The way of the LORD is not fair; but it is their own ways that are not fair.

18 When a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die in his iniquity.

19 And when a wicked man turns from his wickedness and does that which is just and right, he shall live thereby.

20 Yet you say, The way of the LORD is not fair; O house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his ways.

21 And it came to pass in the eleventh year of our captivity, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped from Jerusalem came and said to me, The city has been destroyed.

22 Now the hand of the LORD had been upon me in the evening, before he who had escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened and I was dumb no more.

23 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

24 Son of man, those who inhabit these waste places of the land of Israel are saying, Abraham was only one man, and yet he inherited the land; but we are many; are we not going to inherit it?

25 Therefore say to them, Thus says the LORD God: Because you eat meat with the blood and lift up your eyes toward your idols and drink blood, do you expect to inherit the land?

26 You rely on your swords, you commit abomination, and you defile every one his neighbor's wife; and do you expect to inherit the land?

27 Say to them, Thus says the LORD God: As I live, all of those who dwell in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and he that is in the open field, I will give to the wild beasts to be devoured, and those who are in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 For I will lay the land desolate and waste, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

29 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land desolate and waste because of their abominations which they have committed.

30 And as for you, O Son of man, your people are gossiping about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come and hear what is the word that comes forth from the LORD.

31 And the people come to you and sit before you, and they hear your words, but they will not do them, because their mouths are full of falsehood and they follow after the thoughts of their own hearts.

32 And, lo, you are to them like a song and like a pleasant voice and like the sweet sound of a harp; for they hear your words, but they do them not.

33 And when your words shall come to pass, then they shall know that you are a prophet among them.

1 Было мне слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

1 AND the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

2 «Смертный человек! Возвести своим соплеменникам, скажи им: „Если Я нашлю на какую-либо страну меч, а люди в той стране выберут из своей среды человека и поставят его на страже города,

2 Son of man, speak to your own people and say to them, When I bring the sword upon a land, let the people of the land take a man from among them and make him their watchman.

3 и он увидит, как надвигается на страну меч, и затрубит в рог, чтобы предупредить народ,

3 And when he sees the sword coming upon them, he shall blow the trumpet and warn the people;

4 то всякий, кто, услышав звук рога, не примет предостережение, сам будет виновен в своей гибели, когда придет меч и обрушится на него.

4 Then whosoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not heed the warning, if the sword should come and take his life away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

5 И поскольку он слышал звук рога, но не внял предостережению, сам будет виновен в своей гибели. Если бы он принял это предостережение, то мог бы спасти свою жизнь.

5 But if he should take heed, he shall deliver his life.

6 Но если стоящий на страже, видя надвигающийся меч, не затрубит в рог и не предупредит народ, и нагрянет меч и поразит кого-либо из живущих там, то сраженные мечом погибнут во грехах своих, но за их гибель Я призову к ответу стражника“.

6 But when the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and does not warn the people, and the sword comes and takes the life from among them, that life is taken away in his iniquity; but I will require his blood at the watchman's hand.

7 Я тебя, смертный, поставил на страже народа Израилева: всякий раз, как услышишь из уст Моих слово, тут же предостерегай их.

7 So you, O Son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore you shall hear the word from my mouth, you shall warn them from me.

8 Если Я скажу злодею: „Смерть тебя ждет, злодей!“, а ты не скажешь ему, не наставишь его свернуть со своего пути, то он умрет за свое преступление, но с тебя Я спрошу за его гибель.

8 When I say to the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die; and you do not speak to the wicked man that he may take heed from his evil way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hands.

9 А если ты наставишь злодея, подскажешь ему свернуть со своего пути, и он не сделает этого, то он умрет за свое преступление, но ты спасешь свою жизнь.

9 Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked that he may turn from his evil way; and if he does not turn from his evil way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.

10 Смертный человек! Вот что скажи роду Израилеву. Вы говорите: „На нас вина в преступлениях наших и грехах, из-за них мы заживо гнием — разве мы можем выжить?“

10 You therefore, O Son of man, say to the house of Israel. Thus have you spoken, saying, Our iniquity and our sins be upon us, and we are pining away in them; how can we live?

11 Скажи им: „Жив Я! — клятвенно заверяет Владыка ГОСПОДЬ. — Я не желаю смерти злодею, но чтобы он оставил путь свой и остался жив. Раскайтесь же и оставьте пути зла! Для чего погибать тебе, род Израилев?“

11 Say to them, As I live, says the LORD God, I do not desire the death of the wicked; but that the wicked should turn from his evil way and live; therefore you must repent and turn from your evil ways, and you shall not die, O house of Israel.

12 Смертный, вот что возвести своим соплеменникам. Не спасет праведника былая праведность, если он совершит преступление. И злодей не погибнет за свои прошлые злодеяния, если он прекратит их, как и праведник не останется жив за свою былую праведность, если начнет грешить.

12 Therefore, Son of man, say to your own people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day that he sins; as for the iniquity of the wicked, he shall not fall by it in the day when he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live because of his righteousness in the day that he sins.

13 Если Я скажу праведнику: „Жизнь будет дарована тебе!“ — а он, уповая на свою праведность, станет поступать нечестиво, то вся его праведность будет забыта, и он погибнет за свои нечестивые поступки.

13 When I shall say to the righteous that he shall surely live, and he trusts in his own righteousness and then commits iniquity, all his righteousness which he had done shall not be remembered to him; but for the iniquity which he has committed, he shall die.

14 А если Я скажу злодею: „Тебя ждет смерть!“ — а он, отвратившись от греха, станет поступать справедливо и жить праведно,

14 Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and he turns from his sins and does that which is just and right,

15 и если он отдаст должнику залог, возвратит награбленное, станет поступать по заповедям, дарующим жизнь, не делая ничего нечестивого, — ему будет сохранена жизнь, не умрет он!

15 And he shall restore the pledge which he has taken and return what he has acquired unjustly and walk in the commandments of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.

16 Все прежние его преступления не припомнятся ему. Отныне он поступает справедливо и живет праведно, и потому ему будет дарована жизнь!

16 None of his sins which he has committed shall be remembered to him; but by the justice and righteousness which he has done, he shall surely live.

17 Но твои соплеменники говорят: „Неправильно поступает Владыка“, тогда как это они неправильно поступают!

17 Yet your people say, The way of the LORD is not fair; but it is their own ways that are not fair.

18 Если праведник отступится от праведности своей и станет творить зло, за это и погибнет.

18 When a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die in his iniquity.

19 Если злодей отвратится от греха и станет поступать справедливо и жить праведно, жизнь ему будет сохранена.

19 And when a wicked man turns from his wickedness and does that which is just and right, he shall live thereby.

20 А вы говорите, что неправильно поступает Владыка! О народ Израилев! Я буду судить каждого из вас по вашим поступкам».

20 Yet you say, The way of the LORD is not fair; O house of Israel, I will judge every one of you according to his ways.

21 На двенадцатый год нашего изгнания, в пятый день десятого месяца, пришел ко мне беженец из Иерусалима и сообщил, что город пал.

21 And it came to pass in the eleventh year of our captivity, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped from Jerusalem came and said to me, The city has been destroyed.

22 Но еще накануне вечером, до прихода беженца, коснулась меня рука ГОСПОДНЯ, и Он открыл мне уста. Еще прежде, чем пришел беженец утром, вернулся ко мне дар речи и я более не был безмолвен.

22 Now the hand of the LORD had been upon me in the evening, before he who had escaped came; and had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened and I was dumb no more.

23 И было мне слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

23 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

24 «Смертный человек, те люди, что живут среди развалин в стране израильской, говорят: „Авраам был один, но получил эту землю во владение, а нас много — стало быть, эта земля отдана нам во владение!“

24 Son of man, those who inhabit these waste places of the land of Israel are saying, Abraham was only one man, and yet he inherited the land; but we are many; are we not going to inherit it?

25 Потому возвести им, что говорит Владыка ГОСПОДЬ: „Вы едите мясо с кровью, засматриваетесь на идолов своих, кровь невинную проливаете — и что же, будете владеть этой землей?

25 Therefore say to them, Thus says the LORD God: Because you eat meat with the blood and lift up your eyes toward your idols and drink blood, do you expect to inherit the land?

26 Вы полагаетесь на свой меч, мерзости творите, один бесчестит жену другого — и что же, вам будет отдана эта земля во владение?“

26 You rely on your swords, you commit abomination, and you defile every one his neighbor's wife; and do you expect to inherit the land?

27 Возвести же им то, что клятвенно обещает Владыка ГОСПОДЬ: „Жив Я! Те, кто прячется среди развалин, падут от меча, а кто в чистом поле, тех Я отдам зверям на съедение, а кто в крепостях и пещерах, те погибнут от мора.

27 Say to them, Thus says the LORD God: As I live, all of those who dwell in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and he that is in the open field, I will give to the wild beasts to be devoured, and those who are in the forts and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.

28 Страну израильскую Я разорю и превращу в пустыню, придет конец ее горделивому могуществу, опустеют холмы израильские, и никто там не будет ходить.

28 For I will lay the land desolate and waste, and the pomp of her strength shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, that none shall pass through.

29 И узнают, что Я — ГОСПОДЬ, когда Я предам разорению эту страну и превращу в пустыню за все мерзости, которые они творили!“

29 Then shall they know that I am the LORD, when I have laid the land desolate and waste because of their abominations which they have committed.

30 Вот как судят о тебе, смертный, твои соплеменники, стоя у стен и толпясь на дворах, говорят друг другу, брат брату: „Пойдем-ка узнаем, какое еще слово пришло от ГОСПОДА!“

30 And as for you, O Son of man, your people are gossiping about you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come and hear what is the word that comes forth from the LORD.

31 Да, приходят они к тебе гурьбой, садятся перед тобой, выслушивает народ Мой твои слова, но не исполняет их. Речи их льстивы, а сердце гонится за неправедной прибылью.

31 And the people come to you and sit before you, and they hear your words, but they will not do them, because their mouths are full of falsehood and they follow after the thoughts of their own hearts.

32 Ты для них что сладкозвучный певец с красивым голосом, что приятная музыка — вот послушают они твои слова, а исполнять их не станут.

32 And, lo, you are to them like a song and like a pleasant voice and like the sweet sound of a harp; for they hear your words, but they do them not.

33 А когда нагрянет беда — она уже на пороге! — узнают они, что был среди них пророк».

33 And when your words shall come to pass, then they shall know that you are a prophet among them.
