Глава 15

1 Было мне слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

2 «Смертный! Чем древесина виноградной лозы лучше древесины любого дерева, чем лоза лучше лесных деревьев?

3 Можно ли сделать из нее что-нибудь полезное? Даже колышка из нее не вытесать, чтобы вешать на него утварь.

4 И вот бросили лозу в огонь, обгорели концы, обуглилась середина — можно ли сделать из нее что-нибудь полезное?

5 Даже когда она была целой, ни на что не годилась, тем более теперь, когда огонь сжег ее и обуглил, — на что же она сгодится?»

6 Вот что говорит Владыка ГОСПОДЬ: «Как виноградной лозе из всех лесных деревьев Я предназначил служить топливом для огня, так и жителей Иерусалима Я подвергну той же участи!

7 Суд Мой свершу над ними: из одного огня убегут — другой их погубит, и узнают они, что Я — ГОСПОДЬ, когда свершу суд Мой над ними.

8 А страну эту Я сделаю пустыней за их вероломство», — таково слово Владыки ГОСПОДА.

Chapter 15

1 AND the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, What shall happen to the wood of the vine more than to any wood, or to any branch of the trees which are among the trees of the forest?

3 Shall wood be taken from the vine to make anything from it? Or do men take a peg from it to hang vessels on it?

4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; and when the fire has consumed both ends of it and the middle of it is burned, is it good for any work?

5 Behold, when it was whole, it was not useful for implements; how much less shall it be useful when the fire has devoured it and it is destroyed?

6 Therefore thus says the LORD God: As I have given the wood of the vine among all the trees of the forest to the fire for fuel, so I have given the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

7 And I will pour out my anger against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall consume them; and you shall know that I am the LORD, when I pour out my anger against them.

8 And I will make the land desolate and a horror because they have committed iniquity, says the LORD God.
