Chapter 27

1 AND it came to pass, when Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said to him, My son; and he said to him, Behold, here I am.

2 And Isaac said to him, Behold now, I am old, and I do not know the day of my death;

3 Now therefore take your weapons, your sword and your bow, and go out into the field and hunt game;

4 And make me stewed meat, such as I like, and bring it to me, that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.

5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. So Esau went to the field to hunt game and to bring it.

6 Then Rebekah said to Jacob her son, Behold, I heard your father say to Esau your brother,

7 Bring me game, and make me stewed meat, that I may eat and bless you in the presence of the LORD before I die.

8 Now therefore, my son, listen to me according to that which I command you.

9 Go now to the flock, and bring me from there two kids of the goats; and I will make from them stew for your father, such as he likes;

10 And you shall bring it to your father, that he may eat, and that he may bless you in the presence of the LORD before his death.

11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man and I am a smooth man;

12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a mocker; and I Shall bring a curse upon myself, and not a blessing.

13 And his mother said to him, Let your curses be upon me, my son; only listen to me, and go and fetch them to me.

14 So he went and picked them up, and brought them to his mother; and his mother made a stew, such as his father liked.

15 And Rebekah took the best clothes of her elder son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son;

16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the back of his neck;

17 And she gave the stew and the bread which she had prepared into the hand of her son Jacob.

18 And he brought them in to his father, and said, My father; and he said, Here am I. Then he said, Who are you, my son?

19 And Jacob said to his father, I am Esau, your first-born; I have done as you told me; now arise and sit up and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.

20 And Isaac said to his son, How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD your God brought it my way.

21 Then Isaac said to Jacob his son, Come near me, that I may feel you, my son, to know whether you are my son Esau or not.

22 And Jacob drew near to Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are Esau's.

23 But he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy, like his brother Esau's hands; so he blessed him.

24 And he said, Are you my very son Esau? And Jacob said, I am.

25 And he said, Bring the stew near to me, and I will eat of my son's game, that my soul may bless you. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat; and he brought him wine, and he drank.

26 And his father Isaac said to him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son; so he drew near and kissed him;

27 And he came near, and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which the LORD has blessed;

28 Therefore may God give you of the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, and the abundance of wheat and wine;

29 Let people serve you, and nations bow down to you; be a prince over your brethren, and let your mother's sons bow down to you; cursed be they who curse you, and blessed be they who bless you.

30 And it came to pass when Isaac had finished blessing Jacob and Jacob had gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, behold, Esau his brother came in from his hunting.

31 And he also made stew, and brought it to his father, and said to his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's game, that your soul may bless me.

32 And Isaac his father said to him, Who are you? And he said, I am your son, your first-born, Esau.

33 And Isaac was greatly alarmed, and said, Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me? I have eaten of everything before you came, and I have blessed him, yea, and he shall be blessed.

34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out bitterly, and said to his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.

35 But his father said, Your brother came with deceit, and has already received your blessing.

36 And Esau said, Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has acted treacherously toward me twice: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he has taken away my blessing. And Esau said to his father, Have you not reserved a blessing for me?

37 And Isaac answered and said to Esau, Behold, I have made him a prince over you, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with wheat and wine have I sustained him; and what shall I do now for you, my son?

38 And Esau said to his father, Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.

39 And Isaac his father answered and said to him, Behold, your dwelling shall be in the fertile places of the earth, and the dew of heaven shall fall upon you from above;

40 And by your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but if you shall repent, his yoke shall pass away from off your neck.

41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessings with which his father had blessed him; and Esau said in his heart, After the days of mourning for my father are over, then I will slay my brother Jacob.

42 And the words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah; so she sent and called her younger son Jacob, and said to him, Behold, your brother Esau is threatening to kill you.

43 Now therefore, my son, hearken to me; and arise, and go to Laban my brother, to Haran;

44 And stay there a few days, until your brother's fury is spent;

45 Until your brother's anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him; then I will send messengers, and bring you back from there; lest I be deprived also of both of you in one day.

46 Then Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?

2 Исаак сказал: «Я стар и, наверное, скоро умру!

3 Возьми свой лук и стрелы, пойди в поле и налови мне дичи.

4 Приготовь моё любимое кушанье и дай мне поесть, а затем я благословлю тебя перед смертью».

5 Исав отправился на охоту. Ревекка слышала, как Исаак говорил всё это своему сыну Исаву,

6 и сказала Иакову: «Я слышала, как твой отец разговаривал с Исавом

7 и повелел ему: „Налови дичи и приготовь мне кушанье, чтобы я мог поесть, и тогда я благословлю тебя перед смертью”.

8 Теперь, сын мой, слушай и делай, что я говорю:

9 пойди туда, где мы держим коз, и принеси мне двух козлят. Я приготовлю из них кушанье, которое любит твой отец,

10 а ты отнесёшь эту еду отцу, и он благословит тебя перед смертью».

11 Но Иаков сказал своей матери Ревекке: «Мой брат Исав покрыт волосами, я же не волосатый.

12 Если отец дотронется до меня, то догадается, что я не Исав, и тогда не благословит меня, а проклянёт за то, что я хотел обмануть его».

13 Ревекка же сказала ему: «Если так случится, я приму вину на себя. Сделай всё, как я говорю: пойди и принеси мне козлят».

14 Иаков пошёл, взял двух козлят и принёс их матери, а мать приготовила их по-особому, как любил его отец.

15 Потом Ревекка взяла одежду, которую любил носить её старший сын Исав, надела её на младшего сына Иакова

16 и, взяв шкуры козлят, обернула ими руки и шею Иакова.

17 Затем она взяла приготовленную еду и дала её Иакову.

18 Иаков же пошёл к отцу и сказал: «Отец». Отец ответил: «Кто ты, сын мой?»

19 «Я Исав, твой первенец, — ответил отцу Иаков. — Я сделал всё, как ты мне велел. Садись и поешь дичи, которую я для тебя наловил, а потом благословишь меня».

20 Но Исаак спросил сына: «Как это ты так быстро нашёл и убил дичь?» Иаков ответил: «Господь, Бог твой, помог мне быстро найти дичь».

21 Тогда Исаак сказал Иакову: «Подойди ко мне, я ощупаю тебя, сын мой, чтобы знать, ты ли мой сын Исав».

22 Иаков подошёл к отцу своему Исааку, и тот, ощупав его, сказал: «У тебя голос Иакова, но руки все в волосах, как у Исава».

23 Исаак не узнал Иакова, потому что руки у него были волосатые, как у Исава, и благословил Иакова.

24 Потом он спросил: «Воистину ли ты мой сын Исав?» «Да, я», — ответил Иаков.

25 Тогда Исаак сказал: «Принеси мне еду, я поем и благословлю тебя». Иаков дал ему еду, и он поел, потом Иаков дал ему вино, и Исаак выпил его.

26 Исаак сказал Иакову: «Сын, подойди, поцелуй меня».

27 Иаков подошёл к отцу и поцеловал его. Исаак почувствовал запах одежды Исава и благословил его, сказав: «Запах сына моего словно запах полей, благословенных Господом.

28 Да пошлёт тебе Господь дожди в изобилии, чтобы был у тебя хороший урожай и вино.

29 Да служат тебе люди, и да склонятся перед тобой народы. Ты будешь править братьями своими, и сыновья матери твоей склонятся перед тобой, и будут послушны тебе. Проклинающий тебя будет проклят, благословляющий же тебя будет благословен».

30 Как только Исаак закончил благословлять Иакова и тот ушёл от отца, Исав возвратился с охоты.

31 Приготовив кушанье, которое любил отец, Исав принес его отцу и сказал: «Отец, это я, твой сын, встань и поешь мяса убитой мной для тебя дичи, а потом благословишь меня».

32 Но Исаак спросил: «Кто ты такой?» «Я — первенец Исав, твой сын», — ответил Исав.

33 Исаак в гневе затрясся, сказав: «Тогда кто же это приготовил для меня еду и принёс мне её до того, как ты пришёл? Я поел и благословил его, и теперь уже поздно взять обратно моё благословение ».

34 Услышав слова Исаака, Исав закричал в гневе и горести и взмолился к отцу: «Тогда благослови и меня тоже, отец!»

35 «Твой брат перехитрил меня, он пришёл и забрал твоё благословение!» — сказал Исаак.

36 «Не зря его зовут Иаковом! — сказал Исав. — Он перехитрил меня дважды: сначала отнял у меня право первородства, а теперь отнял и моё благословение ». Затем Исав спросил отца: «А для меня ты оставил какое-нибудь благословение?»

37 «Слишком поздно, — ответил Исаак. — Я отдал Иакову власть над тобой и сказал ему, что все его братья будут его слугами, и благословил его зерно и вино, и нечего мне больше дать тебе, сын мой!»

38 Но Исав продолжал с рыданиями умолять отца: «Неужели у тебя только одно благословение, отец? Благослови и меня тоже, отец!»

39 И сказал тогда ему Исаак: «Не жить тебе на хорошей земле, и не будет у тебя обильных дождей.

40 Тебе придётся бороться за свою жизнь, и будешь ты рабом брата своего, но в борьбе обретёшь свободу и вырвешься из-под его власти!»

41 После этого Исав возненавидел Иакова за то, что тот получил благословение, и решил про себя: «После смерти отца, мы будем оплакивать его, а затем я убью моего брата Иакова».

42 Узнав о том, что Исав задумал убить Иакова, Ревекка послала за Иаковом и сказала ему: «Послушай, твой брат Исав задумал убить тебя.

43 Так вот, сын мой, сделай, как я говорю: мой брат Лаван живёт в Харане, пойди и спрячься у него.

44 Побудь у него некоторое время, пока твой брат не перестанет сердиться.

45 Твой брат скоро забудет о том, что ты ему сделал, и тогда я пошлю за тобой слугу, чтобы ты возвратился, а иначе я в один день потеряю обоих сыновей».

46 Ревекка сказала Исааку: «Твой сын Исав женился на хеттеянках, и это меня очень печалит, потому что они не нашего рода. Если Иаков тоже женится на одной из таких, то к чему мне жить!»

Genesis Chapter 27	Бытие Глава 27
1 AND it came to pass, when Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said to him, My son; and he said to him, Behold, here I am.	1 Исаак состарился, и зрение его притупилось настолько, что он стал плохо видеть. Однажды он позвал к себе своего старшего сына Исава и сказал ему: «Сын!» «Здесь я», — ответил Исав.
2 And Isaac said to him, Behold now, I am old, and I do not know the day of my death;	2 Исаак сказал: «Я стар и, наверное, скоро умру!
3 Now therefore take your weapons, your sword and your bow, and go out into the field and hunt game;	3 Возьми свой лук и стрелы, пойди в поле и налови мне дичи.
4 And make me stewed meat, such as I like, and bring it to me, that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.	4 Приготовь моё любимое кушанье и дай мне поесть, а затем я благословлю тебя перед смертью».
5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. So Esau went to the field to hunt game and to bring it.	5 Исав отправился на охоту. Ревекка слышала, как Исаак говорил всё это своему сыну Исаву,
6 Then Rebekah said to Jacob her son, Behold, I heard your father say to Esau your brother,	6 и сказала Иакову: «Я слышала, как твой отец разговаривал с Исавом
7 Bring me game, and make me stewed meat, that I may eat and bless you in the presence of the LORD before I die.	7 и повелел ему: „Налови дичи и приготовь мне кушанье, чтобы я мог поесть, и тогда я благословлю тебя перед смертью”.
8 Now therefore, my son, listen to me according to that which I command you.	8 Теперь, сын мой, слушай и делай, что я говорю:

11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man and I am a smooth man;	11 Но Иаков сказал своей матери Ревекке: «Мой брат Исав покрыт волосами, я же не волосатый.
12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a mocker; and I Shall bring a curse upon myself, and not a blessing.	12 Если отец дотронется до меня, то догадается, что я не Исав, и тогда не благословит меня, а проклянёт за то, что я хотел обмануть его».

19 And Jacob said to his father, I am Esau, your first-born; I have done as you told me; now arise and sit up and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.	19 «Я Исав, твой первенец, — ответил отцу Иаков. — Я сделал всё, как ты мне велел. 20 And Isaac said to his son, How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD your God brought it my way.	20 Но Исаак спросил сына: «Как это ты так быстро нашёл и убил дичь?» Иаков ответил: «Господь, Бог твой, помог мне быстро найти дичь».
21 Then Isaac said to Jacob his son, Come near me, that I may feel you, my son, to know whether you are my son Esau or not.	21 Тогда Исаак сказал Иакову: «Подойди ко мне, я ощупаю тебя, сын мой, чтобы знать, ты ли мой сын Исав».
22 And Jacob drew near to Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are Esau's.	22 Иаков подошёл к отцу своему Исааку, и тот, ощупав его, сказал: «У тебя голос Иакова, но руки все в волосах, как у Исава».

24 And he said, Are you my very son Esau? And Jacob said, I am.	24 Потом он спросил: «Воистину ли ты мой сын Исав?» «Да, я», — ответил Иаков.
25 And he said, Bring the stew near to me, and I will eat of my son's game, that my soul may bless you. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat; and he brought him wine, and he drank.	25 Тогда Исаак сказал: «Принеси мне еду, я поем и благословлю тебя». Иаков дал ему еду, и он поел, потом Иаков дал ему вино, и Исаак выпил его.
26 And his father Isaac said to him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son; so he drew near and kissed him;	26 Исаак сказал Иакову: «Сын, подойди, поцелуй меня».
27 And he came near, and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which the LORD has blessed;	27 Иаков подошёл к отцу и поцеловал его. Исаак почувствовал запах одежды Исава и благословил его, сказав: «Запах сына моего словно запах полей, благословенных Господом.
28 Therefore may God give you of the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, and the abundance of wheat and wine;	28 Да пошлёт тебе Господь дожди в изобилии, чтобы был у тебя хороший урожай и вино.
29 Let people serve you, and nations bow down to you; be a prince over your brethren, and let your mother's sons bow down to you; cursed be they who curse you, and blessed be they who bless you.	29 Да служат тебе люди, и да склонятся перед тобой народы. Ты будешь править братьями своими, и сыновья матери твоей склонятся перед тобой, и будут послушны тебе. Проклинающий тебя будет проклят, благословляющий же тебя будет благословен».
30 And it came to pass when Isaac had finished blessing Jacob and Jacob had gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, behold, Esau his brother came in from his hunting.	30 Как только Исаак закончил благословлять Иакова и тот ушёл от отца, Исав возвратился с охоты.
31 And he also made stew, and brought it to his father, and said to his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's game, that your soul may bless me.	31 Приготовив кушанье, которое любил отец, Исав принес его отцу и сказал: «Отец, это я, твой сын, встань и поешь мяса убитой мной для тебя дичи, а потом благословишь меня».
32 And Isaac his father said to him, Who are you? And he said, I am your son, your first-born, Esau.	32 Но Исаак спросил: «Кто ты такой?» «Я — первенец Исав, твой сын», — ответил Исав.
33 And Isaac was greatly alarmed, and said, Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me? I have eaten of everything before you came, and I have blessed him, yea, and he shall be blessed.	33 Исаак в гневе затрясся, сказав: «Тогда кто же это приготовил для меня еду и принёс мне её до того, как ты пришёл? Я поел и благословил его, и теперь уже поздно взять обратно моё благословение ».
34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out bitterly, and said to his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.	34 Услышав слова Исаака, Исав закричал в гневе и горести и взмолился к отцу: «Тогда благослови и меня тоже, отец!»
35 But his father said, Your brother came with deceit, and has already received your blessing.	35 «Твой брат перехитрил меня, он пришёл и забрал твоё благословение!» — сказал Исаак.
36 And Esau said, Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has acted treacherously toward me twice: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he has taken away my blessing. And Esau said to his father, Have you not reserved a blessing for me?	36 «Не зря его зовут Иаковом! — сказал Исав. — Он перехитрил меня дважды: сначала отнял у меня право первородства, а теперь отнял и моё благословение ». 42 And the words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah; so she sent and called her younger son Jacob, and said to him, Behold, your brother Esau is threatening to kill you.	42 Узнав о том, что Исав задумал убить Иакова, Ревекка послала за Иаковом и сказала ему: «Послушай, твой брат Исав задумал убить тебя.
43 Now therefore, my son, hearken to me; and arise, and go to Laban my brother, to Haran;	43 Так вот, сын мой, сделай, как я говорю: мой брат Лаван живёт в Харане, пойди и спрячься у него.
44 And stay there a few days, until your brother's fury is spent;	44 Побудь у него некоторое время, пока твой брат не перестанет сердиться.
