Chapter 10

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may perform these signs among them,

2 That you may relate in the presence of your son and of your son's son the things which I have done to the Egyptians and the signs which I have performed among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.

3 And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to fear me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

4 Else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts upon all Four domain;

5 And they shall cover the face of the land so that men cannot see the ground; and they shall eat the residue of that which is left to you from the hail and shall eat all the trees which have budded for you in the field;

6 And they shall fill your houses and the houses of your servants and the houses of all the Egyptians such as neither your fathers nor your grand fathers have seen, from the day that they were upon the earth even to this day. And they turned, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.

7 And Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long shall we suffer this disaster? Let the men go that they may serve the LORD their God; do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?

8 So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go, serve before the LORD your God; but who are they that are going?

9 And Moses said to him, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters; with our flocks and with our herds will we go, for it is a festival of the LORD for all of us.

10 And Pharaoh said to them, Let the LORD be with you, but when I let you and your little ones go, look to it; perhaps you have evil intent.

11 Let it not be so; go now, the older men, and serve before the LORD; for it is the rest that you desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

12 And the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat the herbs of the land, even all that the hail has left.

13 And Moses lifted up his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested in all the domain of the Egyptians; it was a great swarm; before them there were no such swarms of locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

15 For they covered the face of the whole earth so that the land was darkened; and they did eat all the herbs of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; and there remained no leaf on the trees neither grass in the field, through al the land of Egypt.

16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said to them, I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.

17 Now therefore, forgive me my fault this time also, and pray before the LORD your God that he may re move from me this death.

18 And Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed be fore the LORD.

19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in all the domain of Egypt.

20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the children of Israel go.

21 Then the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand toward the heaven that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even thick darkness.

22 And Moses lifted up his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;

23 They did not see one another, nor rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

24 And Pharaoh called to Moses and said to him, Go, serve before the LORD your God; only let your flocks and herds remain here; let your little ones also go with you.

25 Then Moses said to Pharaoh. You must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve before the LORD our God; and we do not know what else we must offer to the LORD until we come there.

27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh said to Moses. Get away from here, take heed to yourself, do not try to see my face again,

29 And Moses said, You have spoken well, I will not try to see your face any more.

1 И вновь ГОСПОДЬ сказал Моисею: «Иди к фараону и опять говори с ним, ведь всё то, что Я уже сделал, вызвало у него и придворных его еще большее упрямство, но именно поэтому Я и мог явить им эти знамения Мои.

2 Вы сможете рассказывать детям и внукам своим о том, как сурово Я обошелся с египтянами и какие знамения среди них сотворил. После всего здесь пережитого вы будете знать, что Я — ГОСПОДЬ!»

3 Моисей с Аароном, придя к фараону, сказали ему: «Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ, Бог евреев: „Сколько ты еще будешь стоять на своем, вместо того чтобы смириться предо Мной? Отпусти же народ Мой, чтобы он совершил Мне служение.

4 Если отказываешься отпустить его, знай, что уже завтра Я нашлю саранчу в пределы страны твоей.

5 Она покроет всю землю так, что и самой земли не будет видно. Всё пожрет саранча, даже то, что осталось и уцелело после града; объест и деревья, что растут на полях ваших.

6 Саранча проникнет не только в твои дома и дома твоих придворных, но и каждый дом в Египте наполнится саранчой. Такого еще никогда не видели ни отцы твои, ни деды с того дня, как живут они на земле, до сего дня“». Сказав это, Моисей повернулся и вышел от фараона.

7 Тогда придворные фараона сказали ему: «Долго ли еще он будет устрашать нас? Отпусти этих людей, пусть они совершат служение ГОСПОДУ, Богу своему. Неужели ты не видишь, что Египет погибает?»

8 Моисея и Аарона возвратили к фараону, и он сказал им: «Идите, совершите служение ГОСПОДУ, Богу вашему. Но кто отправится с вами в путь?»

9 «Мы пойдем все вместе, — отвечал Моисей, — молодые и старые, сыновья и дочери наши. И возьмем с собой и овец, и волов — весь скот свой, ибо у нас праздник ГОСПОДЕНЬ, и провести его мы должны в странствии священном».

10 «Так и быть, пусть ГОСПОДЬ будет с вами, если я когда-либо отпущу вас с детьми и женами вашими! — съязвил фараон. — Ясно, худое у вас на уме!

11 Ну уж нет! Пусть одни мужчины пойдут и совершат служение ГОСПОДУ, как вы и просили». И выгнали их от фараона.

12 Тогда ГОСПОДЬ сказал Моисею: «Простри вперед руку и укажи на всю землю египетскую — и полчища саранчи нападут на нее и пожрут в ней все растения — всё, что уцелело после града».

13 Простер Моисей посох свой над землей египетской, и навел ГОСПОДЬ на ту землю восточный ветер, не утихавший весь день и всю ночь. Наутро ветер нанес саранчу.

14 И налетела саранча на всю землю египетскую, села повсюду в Египте. Такого нашествия саранчи никогда прежде не было и никогда больше не будет.

15 Она покрыла всю землю, так что земли не видно стало. Съела она каждую былинку на земле и всё, что могла найти на плодовых деревьях, побитых градом. По всему Египту не осталось никакой зелени ни на деревьях, ни на растениях полевых.

16 Спешно вызвал фараон Моисея и Аарона и сказал им: «Виноват я перед ГОСПОДОМ, Богом вашим, и перед вами.

17 Прошу, простите мой грех еще один раз и помолитесь ГОСПОДУ, Богу вашему, чтобы Он отвратил от меня это смертельное бедствие».

18 Когда Моисей вышел от фараона и помолился ГОСПОДУ,

19 послал ГОСПОДЬ с запада ураганный ветер, который, подхватывая саранчу, бросал ее в Красное море, пока не удалил ее всю из пределов египетских.

20 Но по допущению ГОСПОДА и после этой казни воля фараона осталась непреклонной, и не отпустил он сынов Израилевых.

21 Тогда сказал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею: «Простри руку к небу, и вся земля египетская погрузится во тьму — тьму осязаемую».

22 Моисей простер руку к небу — и целых три дня пребывал весь Египет в полнейшей тьме.

23 На улице во мраке и родного брата нельзя было распознать, и потому люди не выходили из своих домов. Но там, где жили сыны Израилевы, был свет.

24 Фараон позвал Моисея и сказал: «Идите, совершите служение ГОСПОДУ! Однако скот ваш — мелкий и крупный — пусть останется здесь, а дети и жены ваши могут пойти с вами».

25 Моисей возразил фараону: «Неужели ты сам дашь нам достаточно животных, чтобы мы смогли принести жертвы и всесожжения ГОСПОДУ, Богу нашему?

26 Стада наши должны пойти с нами и одного копыта не останется здесь, ибо любое животное из стада может понадобиться нам при нашем поклонении ГОСПОДУ, Богу нашему. И пока мы не придем на место, не можем знать, что нам потребуется принести в жертву ГОСПОДУ».

27 И опять совершённое ГОСПОДОМ вызвало в сердце фараона лишь упрямство: не захотел он отпустить израильтян.

28 «Убирайся отсюда! — закричал он на Моисея. — Не вздумай больше ко мне являться! Попадешься мне на глаза — смерти будешь предан в тот же день!»

29 «Ты верно сказал, — ответил Моисей. — Я больше не покажусь тебе на глаза».

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may perform these signs among them,	1 И вновь ГОСПОДЬ сказал Моисею: «Иди к фараону и опять говори с ним, ведь всё то, что Я уже сделал, вызвало у него и придворных его еще большее упрямство, но именно поэтому Я и мог явить им эти знамения Мои.
2 That you may relate in the presence of your son and of your son's son the things which I have done to the Egyptians and the signs which I have performed among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.	2 Вы сможете рассказывать детям и внукам своим о том, как сурово Я обошелся с египтянами и какие знамения среди них сотворил. После всего здесь пережитого вы будете знать, что Я — ГОСПОДЬ!»
3 And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to fear me? Let my people go that they may serve me.	3 Моисей с Аароном, придя к фараону, сказали ему: «Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ, Бог евреев: „Сколько ты еще будешь стоять на своем, вместо того чтобы смириться предо Мной? Отпусти же народ Мой, чтобы он совершил Мне служение.
4 Else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts upon all Four domain;	4 Если отказываешься отпустить его, знай, что уже завтра Я нашлю саранчу в пределы страны твоей.
5 And they shall cover the face of the land so that men cannot see the ground; and they shall eat the residue of that which is left to you from the hail and shall eat all the trees which have budded for you in the field;	5 Она покроет всю землю так, что и самой земли не будет видно. Всё пожрет саранча, даже то, что осталось и уцелело после града; объест и деревья, что растут на полях ваших.

And they turned, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.	6 Саранча проникнет не только в твои дома и дома твоих придворных, но и каждый дом в Египте наполнится саранчой. Такого еще никогда не видели ни отцы твои, ни деды с того дня, как живут они на земле, до сего дня“». Сказав это, Моисей повернулся и вышел от фараона.
7 And Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long shall we suffer this disaster? Let the men go that they may serve the LORD their God; do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?	7 Тогда придворные фараона сказали ему: «Долго ли еще он будет устрашать нас? Отпусти этих людей, пусть они совершат служение ГОСПОДУ, Богу своему. Неужели ты не видишь, что Египет погибает?»
8 So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go, serve before the LORD your God; but who are they that are going?	8 Моисея и Аарона возвратили к фараону, и он сказал им: «Идите, совершите служение ГОСПОДУ, Богу вашему. Но кто отправится с вами в путь?»
9 And Moses said to him, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters; with our flocks and with our herds will we go, for it is a festival of the LORD for all of us.	9 «Мы пойдем все вместе, — отвечал Моисей, — молодые и старые, сыновья и дочери наши. И возьмем с собой и овец, и волов — весь скот свой, ибо у нас праздник ГОСПОДЕНЬ, и провести его мы должны в странствии священном».
10 And Pharaoh said to them, Let the LORD be with you, but when I let you and your little ones go, look to it; perhaps you have evil intent.	10 «Так и быть, пусть ГОСПОДЬ будет с вами, если я когда-либо отпущу вас с детьми и женами вашими! — съязвил фараон. — Ясно, худое у вас на уме!
11 Let it not be so; go now, the older men, and serve before the LORD; for it is the rest that you desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.	11 Ну уж нет! Пусть одни мужчины пойдут и совершат служение ГОСПОДУ, как вы и просили». И выгнали их от фараона.
12 And the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat the herbs of the land, even all that the hail has left.	12 Тогда ГОСПОДЬ сказал Моисею: «Простри вперед руку и укажи на всю землю египетскую — и полчища саранчи нападут на нее и пожрут в ней все растения — всё, что уцелело после града».
13 And Moses lifted up his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.	13 Простер Моисей посох свой над землей египетской, и навел ГОСПОДЬ на ту землю восточный ветер, не утихавший весь день и всю ночь. Наутро ветер нанес саранчу.
14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested in all the domain of the Egyptians; it was a great swarm; before them there were no such swarms of locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.	14 И налетела саранча на всю землю египетскую, села повсюду в Египте. Такого нашествия саранчи никогда прежде не было и никогда больше не будет.

Съела она каждую былинку на земле и всё, что могла найти на плодовых деревьях, побитых градом. По всему Египту не осталось никакой зелени ни на деревьях, ни на растениях полевых.
16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said to them, I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.	16 Спешно вызвал фараон Моисея и Аарона и сказал им: «Виноват я перед ГОСПОДОМ, Богом вашим, и перед вами.
17 Now therefore, forgive me my fault this time also, and pray before the LORD your God that he may re move from me this death.	17 Прошу, простите мой грех еще один раз и помолитесь ГОСПОДУ, Богу вашему, чтобы Он отвратил от меня это смертельное бедствие».
18 And Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed be fore the LORD.	18 Когда Моисей вышел от фараона и помолился ГОСПОДУ,
19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in all the domain of Egypt.	19 послал ГОСПОДЬ с запада ураганный ветер, который, подхватывая саранчу, бросал ее в Красное море, пока не удалил ее всю из пределов египетских.
20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the children of Israel go.	20 Но по допущению ГОСПОДА и после этой казни воля фараона осталась непреклонной, и не отпустил он сынов Израилевых.
21 Then the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand toward the heaven that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even thick darkness.	21 Тогда сказал ГОСПОДЬ Моисею: «Простри руку к небу, и вся земля египетская погрузится во тьму — тьму осязаемую».
22 And Moses lifted up his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;	22 Моисей простер руку к небу — и целых три дня пребывал весь Египет в полнейшей тьме.
23 They did not see one another, nor rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.	23 На улице во мраке и родного брата нельзя было распознать, и потому люди не выходили из своих домов. Но там, где жили сыны Израилевы, был свет.
24 And Pharaoh called to Moses and said to him, Go, serve before the LORD your God; only let your flocks and herds remain here; let your little ones also go with you.	24 Фараон позвал Моисея и сказал: «Идите, совершите служение ГОСПОДУ! Однако скот ваш — мелкий и крупный — пусть останется здесь, а дети и жены ваши могут пойти с вами».
25 Then Moses said to Pharaoh. You must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.	25 Моисей возразил фараону: «Неужели ты сам дашь нам достаточно животных, чтобы мы смогли принести жертвы и всесожжения ГОСПОДУ, Богу нашему?
26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve before the LORD our God; and we do not know what else we must offer to the LORD until we come there.	26 Стада наши должны пойти с нами и одного копыта не останется здесь, ибо любое животное из стада может понадобиться нам при нашем поклонении ГОСПОДУ, Богу нашему. И пока мы не придем на место, не можем знать, что нам потребуется принести в жертву ГОСПОДУ».
27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not let them go.	27 И опять совершённое ГОСПОДОМ вызвало в сердце фараона лишь упрямство: не захотел он отпустить израильтян.
28 And Pharaoh said to Moses. Get away from here, take heed to yourself, do not try to see my face again,	28 «Убирайся отсюда! — закричал он на Моисея. — Не вздумай больше ко мне являться! Попадешься мне на глаза — смерти будешь предан в тот же день!»
29 And Moses said, You have spoken well, I will not try to see your face any more.	29 «Ты верно сказал, — ответил Моисей. — Я больше не покажусь тебе на глаза».
