Chapter 8

1 NOW above all we have a high priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven;

2 And he has become the minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which God pitched and not man.

3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices, therefore it is necessary that this man have something to offer also.

4 For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, because there are priests who offer gifts according to the law:

5 Who serve the semblance and shadow of heavenly things, just as it was commanded to Moses when he was about to make the tabernacle: See that you make all things according to the pattern showed to thee in the mount.

6 But now Jesus Christ has received a ministry which is greater than that; just as the covenant in which he was made a mediator, is greater, so are the promises greater than those given in the old covenant.

7 For if the first covenant had been faultless, then there would have been no need for the second.

8 For he found fault with them, and said, Behold, the day is coming, saith the LORD, when I will perfect a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand and led them out of the land of Egypt; and because they abode not in my covenant, I rejected them, saith the LORD.

10 For this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law into their minds, and I will write it on their hearts: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

11 And no man shall teach his neighbor, neither his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for all shall know me, from the youngest to the oldest.

12 And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will no longer remember their sins.

13 By that which he has said, With a new covenant, the first one has become old, and that which is old and obsolete is near destruction.

4 Wenn er2258 nun auf1909 Erden1093 wäre302, so wäre er nicht3761 Priester2409, dieweil da Priester2409 sind5607, die2596 nach1063 dem Gesetz3551 die Gaben1435 opfern4374,

5 welche dienen3000 dem Vorbilde5262 und2532 dem Schatten4639 der3748 himmlischen2032 Güter; wie2531 die göttliche Antwort5537 zu3708 Mose3475 sprach5346, da er sollte3195 die Hütte4633 vollenden2005: Schaue zu1722, sprach er, daß du1166 machest4160 alles nach1063 dem Bilde5179, das3956 dir4671 auf2596 dem Berge3735 gezeiget ist.

6 Nun3570 aber1161 hat1860 er ein besser2909 Amt3009 erlanget, als3745 der3748 eines besseren2909 Testaments1242 Mittler3316 ist, welches auch2532 auf1909 besseren Verheißungen stehet2076.

7 Denn1063 so1487 jenes, das1565 erste4413, untadelig273 gewesen2258 wäre, würde302 nicht3756 Raum5117 zu einem andern1208 gesucht2212.

8 Denn1063 er846 tadelt3201 sie und2532 sagt3004: Siehe2400, es kommen2064 die Tage2250, spricht3004 der HErr2962, daß ich über1909 das Haus3624 Israel2474 und2532 über1909 das Haus3624 Juda2455 ein neu2537 Testament1242 machen will4931;

9 nicht3756 nach2596 dem846 Testament1242, das3739 ich gemacht4160 habe mit1722 ihren846 Vätern3962 an1537 dem846 Tage2250, da ich ihre Hand5495 ergriff1949, sie846 auszuführen aus1806 Ägyptenland1093.
