Chapter 7

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet.

2 You shall speak all that I command you; and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

4 But Pharaoh will not hearken to you, that I may smite Egypt, and bring forth my hosts and my people the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by great judgments.

5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I lift up my hand against Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

9 If Pharaoh should say to you, Show me a sign; then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff and cast it down before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh, and they did as the LORD had commanded; and Aaron cast down his staff before Pharaoh and before his noblemen, and it became a serpent.

11 Then Pharaoh called the wise men and the magicians; now the magicians of Egypt, they also did the same with their magic.

12 For they cast down every man his staff and they became serpents; but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.

13 However Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and would not let them go, as the LORD had said.

14 Then the LORD said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuses to let the people go.

15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning; behold, he goes out to his daily duty; and you stand toward him by the river's brink and wait; and take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.

16 And you shall say to him, The LORD God of the Hebrews has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go that they may serve me in the wilderness; and, behold, hitherto you have not listened.

17 Thus says the LORD, By this you shall know that I am the LORD: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike upon the waters of the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

18 And the fish that are in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall loathe to drink of the water of the river.

19 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff and lift up your hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, and upon the streams, and they shall become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, in both vessels of wood and vessels of stone.

20 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD had commanded them; and Aaron lifted up the staff which was in his hand and smote the waters of the river, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned into blood.

21 And the fish that were in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

22 And the magicians of Egypt did the same by their enchantments; but Pharaoh's heart was hardened and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take to heart even this sign.

24 And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river.

25 And seven days passed after the LORD had smitten the river.

2 Du sollst reden1696 alles, was ich dir gebieten werde6680; aber Aaron175, dein Bruder251, soll es vor Pharao6547 reden1696, daß er die Kinder1121 Israel3478 aus seinem Lande776 lasse7971.

3 Aber ich will Pharaos6547 Herz3820 verhärten7185, daß ich meiner Zeichen226 und Wunder4159 viel7235 tue in Ägyptenland776.

4 Und Pharao6547 wird euch nicht hören8085, auf daß ich meine Hand3027 in Ägypten4714 beweise5414 und führe mein Heer6635, mein Volk5971, die Kinder1121 Israel3478, aus3318 Ägyptenland776 durch große1419 Gerichte8201.

5 Und die Ägypter4714 sollen‘s inne werden, daß ich3045 der HErr3068 bin, wenn ich nun meine Hand3027 ausstrecke über Ägypten4714 und die Kinder1121 Israel3478 von3318 ihnen wegführen werde.

6 Mose4872 und Aaron175 taten6213, wie ihnen der HErr3068 geboten6680 hatte6213.

7 Und Mose4872 war achtzig8084 Jahre8141 alt1121 und Aaron175 dreiundachtzig7969 Jahre8141 alt1121, da sie mit Pharao6547 redeten1696.

8 Und559 der HErr3068 sprach559 zu Mose4872 und Aaron175:

9 Wenn Pharao6547 zu euch sagen559 wird: Beweiset eure Wunder4159, so sollst1696 du zu Aaron175 sagen559: Nimm3947 deinen Stab4294 und wirf7993 ihn vor6440 Pharao6547, daß er5414 zur Schlange8577 werde.

10 Da gingen935 Mose4872 und Aaron175 hinein zu Pharao6547 und taten wie ihnen der HErr3068 geboten6680 hatte6213. Und Aaron175 warf7993 seinen Stab4294 vor6440 Pharao6547 und vor6440 seinen Knechten5650; und er ward zur Schlange8577.

11 Da forderte7121 Pharao6547 die Weisen2450 und Zauberer3784. Und die ägyptischen4714 Zauberer2748 taten6213 auch also3651 mit ihrem Beschwören3858.

12 Ein376 jeglicher warf7993 seinen Stab4294 von sich, da wurden Schlangen8577 draus; aber Aarons175 Stab4294 verschlang1104 ihre Stäbe.

13 Also ward das8085 Herz3820 Pharaos6547 verstockt und hörete sie2388 nicht, wie denn der HErr3068 geredet hatte1696.

14 Und der HErr3068 sprach559 zu Mose4872: Das Herz3820 Pharaos6547 ist hart3515; er weigert sich3985, das Volk5971 zu lassen7971.

15 Gehe hin zu Pharao6547 morgen1242. Siehe, er wird ans Wasser4325 gehen3212; so tritt5324 gegen7125 ihm an das Ufer8193 des Wassers2975 und3318 nimm3947 den Stab4294 in deine Hand3027, der zur Schlange5175 ward2015,

16 und sprich zu ihm: Der HErr3068, der Ebräer GOtt430, hat8085 mich7971 zu dir gesandt7971 und lassen sagen559: Laß mein Volk5971, daß mir‘s diene5647 in der Wüste4057! Aber du559 hast bisher3541 nicht wollen hören.

17 Darum spricht der HErr3068 also: Daran sollst du559 erfahren3045, daß ich der HErr3068 bin. Siehe, ich will mit dem Stabe4294, den ich in meiner Hand3027 habe, das Wasser4325 schlagen5221, das in dem Strom2975 ist, und es soll in Blut1818 verwandelt werden2015,

18 daß die Fische1710 im Strom2975 sterben4191 sollen und der Strom2975 stinken887, und den Ägyptern4714 wird ekeln3811, zu trinken8354 des Wassers4325 aus dem Strom2975.

19 Und der HErr3068 sprach559 zu Mose4872: Sage559 Aaron175: Nimm3947 deinen Stab4294 und recke deine Hand3027 aus5186 über die4325 Wasser4325 in Ägypten4714, über ihre Bäche5104 und Ströme2975 und Seen98 und über alle Wassersümpfe, daß sie Blut1818 werden, und sei Blut1818 in ganz Ägyptenland776, beide in hölzernen6086 und steinernen68 Gefäßen.

20 Mose4872 und Aaron175 taten, wie ihnen5869 der HErr3068 geboten6680 hatte6213, und hub den Stab4294 auf7311 und schlug5221 ins Wasser4325, das im Strom2975 war, vor5869 Pharao6547 und seinen Knechten5650. Und alles Wasser4325 im Strom2975 ward2015 in Blut1818 verwandelt.

21 Und776 die Fische1710 im Strom2975 starben4191, und der Strom2975 ward stinkend887, daß die Ägypter4714 nicht trinken8354 konnten3201 des Wassers4325 aus dem Strom2975; und ward Blut1818 in ganz Ägyptenland4714.

22 Und die ägyptischen4714 Zauberer2748 taten auch also mit ihrem Beschwören3909. Also ward das8085 Herz3820 Pharaos6547 verstockt und hörete sie2388 nicht, wie denn der HErr3068 geredet hatte6213.

23 Und Pharao6547 wandte sich6437 und ging935 heim1004 und nahm‘s nicht zu Herzen3820.

24 Aber alle Ägypter4714 gruben2658 nach Wasser4325 um den Strom2975 her5439, zu trinken8354; denn des Wassers4325 aus dem Strom2975 konnten3201 sie nicht trinken8354.

25 Und4390 das währete sieben7651 Tage3117 lang, daß der HErr3068 den Strom2975 schlug5221.

3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they.

7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8 And the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,
