1 Сын мой, прими всё, что я говорю тебе, запомни мои наставления.

2 Слушай мудрость и изо всех сил старайся её понять.

3 Ищи мудрость и взывай к пониманию.

4 Ищи мудрость как серебро, ищи её как спрятанный клад.

5 Если будешь так поступать, тогда научишься уважать Господа и воистину познаешь Бога.

6 Господь даёт мудрость, знания и разум исходят из Его уст.

7 Он помогает добрым и честным людям.

8 Он несправедливости не допустит и бережёт Своих учеников, которые всем сердцем преданы Ему.

9 Если слух твой к Господу обращён, то ты обязательно познаешь суть справедливости, а поступки твои всегда будут праведны.

10 Только тогда мудрость поселится в сердце твоём, а знание станет источником радости.

11 Предусмотрительность защитит тебя, а понимание охранит.

12 Мудрость и понимание отведут тебя от неверных путей, по которым следуют злые люди, а также убережёт тебя от тех, кто злые планы строит.

13 Они отказались от доброты и живут в грехе,

14 они счастливы, творя недоброе, и наслаждаются злом.

15 Тем людям нельзя доверять, они лгут, но мудрость твоя и понимание твоё тебя охранят.

16 Чужая жена может быть сладкоречива и будет искушать тебя ради греха. Будучи молодой, эта женщина вышла замуж, но она оставила мужа, не исполнив своих супружеских обетов, данных перед Богом.

18 Если ты по слабости войдёшь в её дом, ты сделаешь первый шаг к смерти. Если ты будешь следовать за ней, она приведёт тебя к могиле.

19 Она сама как могила, и если человек приходит к ней, то он, утратив свою жизнь, уже никогда не вернётся назад.

20 Мудрость поможет тебе следовать примеру добрых людей и идти их путём.

21 Люди, живущие праведно, обретут свою землю, а творящие добро останутся на ней.

22 Но злые потеряют принадлежащую им землю и будут изгнаны из той страны.
