1 The word1697 that834 came1961 to413 Jeremiah3414 from4480 854 the LORD,3068 after that310 Nebuzaradan5018 the captain7227 of the guard2876 had let him go7971 from4480 Ramah,7414 when he had taken3947 him being bound631 in chains246 among8432 all3605 that were carried away captive1546 of Jerusalem3389 and Judah,3063 which were carried away captive1540 unto Babylon.894

2 And the captain7227 of the guard2876 took3947 Jeremiah,3414 and said559 unto413 him, The LORD3068 thy God430 hath pronounced1696 853 this2063 evil7451 upon413 this2088 place.4725

3 Now the LORD3068 hath brought935 it, and done6213 according as834 he hath said:1696 because3588 ye have sinned2398 against the LORD,3068 and have not3808 obeyed8085 his voice,6963 therefore this2088 thing1697 is come1961 upon you.

4 And now,6258 behold,2009 I loose6605 thee this day3117 from4480 the chains246 which834 were upon5921 thine hand.3027 If518 it seem good unto thee2896 5869 to come935 with854 me into Babylon,894 come;935 and I will look well7760 853 5869 unto5921 thee: but if518 it seem ill unto thee7489 5869 to come935 with854 me into Babylon,894 forbear:2308 behold,7200 all3605 the land776 is before6440 thee: whither413 it seemeth5869 good2896 and convenient3477 for thee to go,1980 thither8033 go.1980

5 Now while he was not3808 yet5750 gone back,7725 he said, Go back7725 also to413 Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 the son1121 of Shaphan,8227 whom834 the king4428 of Babylon894 hath made governor6485 over the cities5892 of Judah,3063 and dwell3427 with854 him among8432 the people:5971 or176 go1980 wheresoever413 3605 it seemeth5869 convenient3477 unto thee to go.1980 So the captain7227 of the guard2876 gave5414 him victuals737 and a reward,4864 and let him go.7971

6 Then went935 Jeremiah3414 unto413 Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 to Mizpah;4708 and dwelt3427 with854 him among8432 the people5971 that were left7604 in the land.776

7 Now when all3605 the captains8269 of the forces2428 which834 were in the fields,7704 even they1992 and their men,376 heard8085 that3588 the king4428 of Babylon894 had made853 Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 governor6485 in the land,776 and3588 had committed6485 unto854 him men,376 and women,802 and children,2945 and of the poor4480 1803 of the land,776 of them that4480 834 were not3808 carried away captive1540 to Babylon;894

8 Then they came935 to413 Gedaliah1436 to Mizpah,4708 even Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah,5418 and Johanan3110 and Jonathan3129 the sons1121 of Kareah,7143 and Seraiah8304 the son1121 of Tanhumeth,8576 and the sons1121 of Ephai5778 the Netophathite,5200 and Jezaniah3153 the son1121 of a Maachathite,4602 they1992 and their men.376

9 And Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 the son1121 of Shaphan8227 swore7650 unto them and to their men,376 saying,559 Fear3372 not408 to serve4480 5647 the Chaldeans:3778 dwell3427 in the land,776 and serve5647 853 the king4428 of Babylon,894 and it shall be well3190 with you.

10 As for me,589 behold,2009 I will dwell3427 at Mizpah4709 to serve5975 6440 the Chaldeans,3778 which834 will come935 unto413 us: but ye,859 gather622 ye wine,3196 and summer fruits,7019 and oil,8081 and put7760 them in your vessels,3627 and dwell3427 in your cities5892 that834 ye have taken.8610

11 Likewise1571 when all3605 the Jews3064 that834 were in Moab,4124 and among the Ammonites,1121 5983 and in Edom,123 and that834 were in all3605 the countries,776 heard8085 that3588 the king4428 of Babylon894 had left5414 a remnant7611 of Judah,3063 and that3588 he had set6485 over5921 them853 Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 the son1121 of Shaphan;8227

12 Even all3605 the Jews3064 returned7725 out of all4480 3605 places4725 whither834 8033 they were driven,5080 and came935 to the land776 of Judah,3063 to413 Gedaliah,1436 unto Mizpah,4708 and gathered622 wine3196 and summer fruits7019 very3966 much.7335

13 Moreover Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah,7143 and all3605 the captains8269 of the forces2428 that834 were in the fields,7704 came935 to413 Gedaliah1436 to Mizpah,4708

14 And said559 unto413 him, Dost thou certainly know3045 3045 that3588 Baalis1185 the king4428 of the Ammonites1121 5983 hath sent7971 853 Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah5418 to slay5221 5315 thee? But Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 believed539 them not.3808

15 Then Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah7143 spoke559 to413 Gedaliah1436 in Mizpah4709 secretly,5643 saying,559 Let me go,1980 I pray thee,4994 and I will slay5221 853 Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah,5418 and no3808 man376 shall know3045 it: wherefore4100 should he slay5221 5315 thee, that all3605 the Jews3063 which are gathered6908 unto413 thee should be scattered,6327 and the remnant7611 in Judah3063 perish?6

16 But Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 said559 unto413 Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah,7143 Thou shalt not408 do6213 853 this2088 thing:1697 for3588 thou859 speakest1696 falsely8267 of413 Ishmael.3458

2 Начальник стражи велел привести Иеремию и сказал ему: «ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой, предрек это бедствие этому городу.

3 ГОСПОДЬ навел это бедствие на вас и совершил всё, о чем предостерегал, ведь вы согрешили против Него, не прислушались к Его словам — потому с вами и произошло всё это.

4 Но посмотри, сегодня я снял с твоих рук цепи и отпускаю тебя на свободу. Если хочешь, можешь пойти со мной в Вавилон, и я позабочусь о тебе, а если нет — оставайся. Вот вся земля перед тобой — куда душе твоей угодно, туда и иди.

5 Если ты решишь остаться, то возвращайся к Гедалье, сыну Ахикама, внуку Шафана, которого царь вавилонский поставил правителем над городами Иудеи, оставайся при нем со своим народом. Впрочем, решай сам, куда ты пойдешь». И дал ему начальник стражи еды и подарок и отпустил его.

6 Иеремия пошел к Гедалье, сыну Ахикама, в Мицпу, поселился там и жил среди людей, которые еще оставались в стране.

7 Когда военачальники иудейские, скрывавшиеся в полях со своими воинами, услышали о том, что царь вавилонский поставил над страной Гедалью, сына Ахикама, и вверил его попечению мужчин, женщин и детей — беднейших людей, которые не были угнаны пленниками в Вавилон,

8 то пришли они к Гедалье в Мицпу. Среди них были Измаил, сын Нетаньи, и Йоханан и Ионафан, сыновья Кареаха, и Серая, сын Танхумета, и сыновья Эфая из Нетофы, и Яазанья родом из Маахи; пришли они со своими людьми.

9 Гедалья, сын Ахикама, внук Шафана, поклялся им и их людям: «Не бойтесь служить халдеям. Оставайтесь здесь и служите царю вавилонскому, и будет у вас всё хорошо.

10 А я останусь в Мицпе, чтобы защищать вас перед халдеями, когда они будут приходить сюда, а вы запасайте вино, фрукты и оливковое масло, наполняйте ими сосуды и живите в городах, которые вы заняли».

11 Те иудеи, что бежали в Моав, к аммонитянам, в Эдом и другие земли, тоже услышали, что царь вавилонский позволил некоторым их соплеменникам остаться в Иудее и поставил над ними Гедалью, сына Ахикама, внука Шафана.

12 Вернулись они из всех тех земель, куда были изгнаны прежде, и пришли в Иудею, к Гедалье в Мицпу, и стало у них вдоволь вина и фруктов.

13 Иоханан, сын Кареаха, и все военачальники, скрывавшиеся в полях, пришли к Гедалье в Мицпу

14 и сказали ему: «Знаешь ли ты, что Баалис, царь аммонитян, послал Измаила, сына Нетаньи, убить тебя?» Гедалья, сын Ахикама, не поверил им.

15 Тогда Иоханан, сын Кареаха, сказал Гедалье в Мицпе наедине: «Позволь, Я пойду и убью Измаила, сына Нетаньи, и никто об этом не узнает. Ведь если он убьет тебя, то рассеются все иудеи, что собрались вокруг тебя, и тогда погибнет весь остаток народа иудейского».

16 «Не делай этого, — ответил ему Гедалья, сын Ахикама, — ты наговариваешь на Измаила».

3 ГОСПОДЬ навел это бедствие на вас и совершил всё, о чем предостерегал, ведь вы согрешили против Него, не прислушались к Его словам — потому с вами и произошло всё это.

4 And now,6258 behold,2009 I loose6605 thee this day3117 from4480 the chains246 which834 were upon5921 thine hand.3027 If518 it seem good unto thee2896 5869 to come935 with854 me into Babylon,894 come;935 and I will look well7760 853 5869 unto5921 thee: but if518 it seem ill unto thee7489 5869 to come935 with854 me into Babylon,894 forbear:2308 behold,7200 all3605 the land776 is before6440 thee: whither413 it seemeth5869 good2896 and convenient3477 for thee to go,1980 thither8033 go.1980

4 Но посмотри, сегодня я снял с твоих рук цепи и отпускаю тебя на свободу. Если хочешь, можешь пойти со мной в Вавилон, и я позабочусь о тебе, а если нет — оставайся. Вот вся земля перед тобой — куда душе твоей угодно, туда и иди.

12 Вернулись они из всех тех земель, куда были изгнаны прежде, и пришли в Иудею, к Гедалье в Мицпу, и стало у них вдоволь вина и фруктов.

13 Иоханан, сын Кареаха, и все военачальники, скрывавшиеся в полях, пришли к Гедалье в Мицпу

16 «Не делай этого, — ответил ему Гедалья, сын Ахикама, — ты наговариваешь на Измаила».
