2 Und alle Knechte5650 des Königs4428, die im Tor8179 des Königs4428 waren, beugten3766 die Kniee und beteten Haman2001 an7812; denn der König4428 hatte6680 es also geboten. Aber Mardachai beugete die Kniee nicht und betete7812 nicht an.

3 Da sprachen559 des Königs4428 Knechte5650, die im Tor8179 des Königs4428 waren5674, zu Mardachai: Warum übertrittst du des Königs4428 Gebot4687?

4 Und5975 da sie solches1697 täglich3117 zu ihm sagten5046, und er2001 ihnen nicht gehorchte8085, sagten sie es Haman an5046, daß sie sähen, ob solch Tun Mardachais bestehen würde; denn er hatte7200 ihnen gesagt559, daß er ein Jude3064 wäre.

5 Und4390 da Haman2001 sah7200, daß Mardachai ihm nicht die Kniee beugete noch ihn3766 anbetete7812, ward er2001 voll Grimms2534.

6 Und verachtete959 es, daß er2001 an Mardachai allein sollte die Hand3027 legen7971, denn sie hatten ihm5869 das Volk5971 Mardachais angesagt5046; sondern er trachtete1245, das Volk5971 Mardachais, alle Juden3064, so im ganzen Königreich4438 Ahasveros325 waren, zu vertilgen8045.

8 Und Haman2001 sprach559 zum Könige4428 Ahasveros325: Es ist3426 ein259 Volk5971 zerstreuet und teilet sich unter alle Völker5971 in allen Landen4082 deines Königreichs4438, und ihr Gesetz1881 ist anders8138 denn aller Völker5971, und tun6213 nicht nach des Königs4428 Gesetzen; und ist dem Könige4428 nicht zu leiden, sie also zu lassen3240.

10 Da tat5493 der König4428 seinen Ring2885 von der Hand3027 und1121 gab5414 ihn Haman2001, dem Sohne Medathas, dem Agagiter91, der Juden3064 Feind6887.

11 Und der König4428 sprach559 zu6213 Haman2001: Das Silber3701 sei dir gegeben5414, dazu das Volk5971, daß du damit tust, was2896 dir gefällt5869.

1 AFTER these things King Akhshirash promoted Haman the son of Hammadatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes who were with him.

2 And all the king's servants who were at the king's gate bowed down and did obeisance to Haman; for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai would not bow nor pay him reverence.

3 Then the king's servants who were at the king's gate said to Mordecai, Why do you transgress the king's commandment?

4 Now it came to pass when they spoke daily to him and he would not listen to them, they told Haman, to know whether Mordecai's words were the truth; for he had told them that he was a Jew.

5 And when Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow down nor do him obeisance, then Haman was full of wrath against Mordecai.

6 And he thought it nothing to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had revealed to him the people of Mordecai; wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews who were throughout the whole kingdom of Akhshirash, even the people of Mordecai.

7 In the first month, that is, the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Akhshirash, they cast lots be fore Haman from day to day and from month to month. Then in the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar,

8 Haman said to King Akhshirash, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of King Akhshirash; and their laws are different from those of all other people; and they do not keep the king's laws; therefore the king ought not to spare them.

9 If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed; and I will weigh ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those who have charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

10 And the king took his ring from his hand and gave it to Haman the son of Hammadatha the Agagite, the enemy of the Jews.

11 And the king said to Haman, The silver is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you.

12 Then the king's scribe was called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded to the king's commanders and to the governors that were over every province and to the princes of every people of every province according to the writing thereof and to every people according to their language; in the name of King Akhshirash it was written and sealed with the king's ring.

13 And the letters were sent by couriers to all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take their wealth for a prey. In the same day on the thirteenth day of the month of Adar they were written.

14 The copy of the writing was given in every province, commanding all the people to be ready for that day.

15 The couriers went out, being hastened by the king's command, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city of Shushan was in an uproar.
