2 Gehet5674 hin3212 gen Kalne3641 und schauet7200 von dannen gen Hemath, die große7227 Stadt, und ziehet hinab3381 gen Gath1661 der Philister6430, welche bessere2896 Königreiche4467 gewesen sind denn diese und ihre Grenze1366 größer7227 denn eure Grenze1366.

3 Die ihr euch weit vom bösen7451 Tage3117 achtet5077 und trachtet immer nach5066 Frevelregiment7675,

4 und5628 schlafet7901 auf8432 elfenbeinernen8127 Lagern4296 und treibet Überfluß mit euren Betten; ihr esset398 die Lämmer3733 aus der Herde6629 und die gemästeten4770 Kälber5695

5 und spielet auf dem Psalter5035 und erdichtet euch2803 Lieder7892, wie6310 David1732,

6 und trinket8354 Wein3196 aus den Schalen4219 und salbet euch2470 mit7225 Balsam8081 und bekümmert euch nichts um den Schaden7667 Josephs3130.

7 Darum sollen sie7218 nun vornean gehen unter denen, die gefangen1540 weggeführet werden1540, und5628 soll das Schlemmen4797 der Pranger aufhören5493.

8 Denn der HErr136 HErr3069 hat geschworen7650 bei seiner See LE5315, spricht5002 der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Zebaoth6635: Mich verdrießt8374 die Hoffart1347 Jakobs3290 und bin8130 ihren Palästen759 gram; und ich will auch die Stadt5892 übergeben mit allem, was drinnen ist5462.

9 Und wenn gleich zehn6235 Männer582 in einem259 Hause1004 überblieben, sollen sie doch sterben4191,

10 daß einen6106 jeglichen sein Vetter1730 und sein Ohm nehmen und die8034 Gebeine aus3318 dem Hause1004 tragen5375 muß und sagen559 zu dem, der in den Gemächern3411 des Hauses1004 ist: Ist ihrer auch noch mehr da? 12 Wer kann7323 mit Rossen5483 rennen oder mit Ochsen1241 pflügen auf Felsen5553? Denn ihr2790 wandelt das Recht4941 in Galle7219 und die Frucht6529 der Gerechtigkeit6666 in Wermut3939

13 und559 tröstet euch8056 des, das1697 so gar nichts ist3947, und sprechet: Sind wir denn nicht3808 stark2392 genug mit unsern Hörnern7161?

14 Darum siehe, ich will935 über euch vom Haus1004 Israel3478 ein Volk1471 erwecken6965, spricht5002 der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Zebaoth6635, das soll euch ängsten3905 von dem Ort an, da man gen Hemath gehet, bis an den Bach5158 in der Wüste6160.

Chapter 6

1 WOE to them who despise Zion and trust in the mountain of Samaria, who are chosen by the chiefs of the nations that have captivated the house of Israel!

2 Pass over to Caliah and see; and from thence go to Hamath the great; then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms? Or is their territory greater than your territory?

3 O you who wait for the evil day, and cause the sabbath of violence to come near;

4 Who lie upon beds of ivory, and give themselves to pleasures upon their couches, and eat the fatlings from the flock and calves from the midst of the herd;

5 Who chant to the sound of the harp, and consider themselves skilled in the musical instruments like David;

6 Who drink pure wine, and anoint themselves with the finest perfumes; but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.

7 Therefore now they shall be carried captive with the first who go captive, and the joy shall be taken away from their rulers.

8 The LORD God has sworn by himself, says the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob and hate his palaces; therefore I will deliver up the city with all that is in it.

9 And it shall come to pass, if there remain ten men in one house that they shall die.

10 And a man's uncle or one who is near to him shall carry the dead body out of the house; and he shall say to him who is in the house, Is there any one else in the house with you? And he shall say, There is no one, because they have perished; for they did not mention the name of the LORD.

11 For, behold, the LORD will go forth and he will smite the great house and cause it to quiver, and the little house will he make desolate.

12 Do horses run upon rocks? Or does one plough with horses? For you have turned justice into bitterness, and the fruit of righteousness into wormwood;

13 You who rejoice over nothing, who say, Have we not taken a city by our own strength?

14 Therefore, behold, I will raise up against you a nation, O house of Israel, says the LORD the God of hosts; and they shall drive you away from the entrance of Hamath to the valley of Arabah.
