Розділ 15

1 Наближа́лись до Нього всі ми́тники й грі́шники, щоб послу́хати Його.

2 Фарисеї ж та книжники нарікали й казали: „Приймає Він грішників та з ними їсть“.

3 А Він їм розповів оцю притчу, говорячи:

4 „Котрий з вас чоловік, мавши сотню овець і загубивши одну з них, не покине в пустині тих дев'ятидесяти́ й дев'яти́, та й не пі́де шукати загинулої, аж поки не зна́йде її?

5 А знайшовши, кладе на раме́на свої та радіє.

6 І, прийшовши додому, скликає він дру́зів і сусідів, та й каже до них: „Радійте зо мною, бо знайшов я вівцю свою тую загу́блену“.

7 Говорю вам, що так само на небі радітимуть більш за одно́го грішника, що кається, аніж за дев'ятдесятьо́х і дев'ятьо́х праведників, що не потребу́ють покая́ння!...

8 Або яка жінка, що має десять драхм, коли згубить драхму одну, не засвічує світла, і не мете хати, і не шукає уважно, аж поки не зна́йде?

9 А знайшовши, кличе при́ятельок та сусідок та каже: „Радійте зо мною, бо знайшла я загу́блену дра́хму!“

10 Так само, кажу вам, радість буває в Божих анголі́в за одного грішника, який кається“.

11 І Він оповів: „У чоловіка одно́го було́ два сини.

12 І молодший із них сказав ба́тькові: „Дай мені, батьку, належну частину маєтку!“ І той поділив поміж ними маєток.

13 А по небагатьох днях зібрав син молодший усе, та й подавсь до далекого кра́ю, і розтратив маєток свій там, живучи́ марнотра́тно.

14 А як він усе прожив, настав голод великий у тім кра́ї, — і він став бідува́ти.

15 І пішов він тоді і пристав до одно́го з мешка́нців тієї землі, а той вислав його на поля́ свої па́сти свине́й.

16 I бажав він напо́внити шлунка свого хоч стручка́ми, що їли їх свині, та ніхто не давав їх йому́.

17 Тоді він спам'ята́вся й сказав: „Скільки в батька мого наймиті́в мають хліба аж на́дмір, а я отут з голоду гину!

18 Устану, і піду́ я до батька свого, та й скажу йому: „Прогрішився я, отче, против неба та су́проти тебе.

19 Недостойний я вже зватись сином твоїм; прийми ж мене, як одно́го з своїх наймитів“.

20 І, вставши, пішов він до ба́тька свого́. А коли він далеко ще був, його ба́тько вгледів його, — і перепо́внився жа́лем: і побіг він, і кинувсь на шию йому, і зачав цілувати його!

21 І озвався до нього той син: „Прогрішився я, отче, против неба та супроти тебе, і недостойний вже зватися сином твоїм“.

22 А батько рабам своїм каже: „Принесіть негайно одежу найкращу, і його зодягні́ть, і персня подайте на руку йому, а санда́лі на но́ги.

23 Приведіть теля відгодо́ване та заколіть, — будемо їсти й радіти,

24 бо цей син мій був мертвий — і ожив, був пропав — і знайшовся!“ І почали веселитись вони.

25 А син ста́рший його був на полі. І коли він ішов й наближа́вся до дому, почув музи́ки та танці.

26 І покли́кав одно́го зо слуг, та й спитав: „Що це таке?“

27 А той каже йому: „То вернувся твій брат, і твій ба́тько звелів заколоти теля відгодо́ване, — бож здоровим його він прийняв“.

28 І розгнівався той, — і ввійти не хотів. Тоді вийшов батько його й став просити його.

29 А той відповів і до батька сказав: „Ото, стільки ро́ків служу́ я тобі, і ніко́ли нака́зу твого не пору́шив, — ти ж ніко́ли мені й козеняти не дав, щоб із при́ятелями своїми поті́шився я.

30 Коли ж син твій вернувся оцей, що проїв твій маєток із блудни́цями, — ти для нього звелів заколоти теля відгодо́ване“.

31 І сказав він йому: „Ти за́вжди зо мною, дитино, і все моє — то твоє!

32 Веселитись та тішитись треба було́, бо цей брат твій був мертвий — і ожив, був пропав — і знайшовся!“

Chapter 15

1 THEN the publicans and sinners drew near to him to hear him.

2 And the scribes and Pharisees murmured, saying, He receives even the sinners and eats with them.

3 So Jesus told them this parable,

4 What man among you has one hundred sheep, and if one of them should get lost, would he not leave the ninety and nine in the open, and go in search of the one which is lost, until he finds it?

5 And when he finds it he rejoices, and he takes it on his shoulders.

6 And he comes to his house, and invites his friends and neighbors, and says to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say to you, that such will be the joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety and nine righteous, who need no repentance.

8 Or what woman who has ten coins, and should lose one of them, would not light a lamp and sweep the house, and search for it carefully, until she finds it?

9 And when she finds it, she calls her women friends and neighbors, and says to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my coin which was lost.

10 I say to you, that such will be the joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.

11 And Jesus said to them again, A man had two sons;

12 And his younger son said to him, My father, give me the portion, which is coming to me from your house. And he divided to them his possessions.

13 And after a few days, his younger son gathered everything that was his share, and went to a far-away country, and there he scattered his wealth in extravagant living.

14 And when all he had was gone, there was a severe famine in that country; and he began to be in need.

15 So he went and got acquainted with one of the men of the city of that country; and he sent him to the field to feed the swine.

16 And he craved to fill his stomach with the husks that the swine were eating; and yet no man would give him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired workers are now in my father's house, who have plenty of bread, and I am here perishing with hunger!

18 I will rise and go to my father, and say to him, My father, I have sinned before heaven, and before you;

19 And I am no longer worthy to be called your son; just make me like one of your hired workers.

20 And he rose up and came to his father. And while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him, and had compassion on him, and he ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

21 And his son said to him, My father, I have sinned before heaven and before you, and I am not worthy to be called your son.

22 But his father said to his servants, Bring the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet;

23 And bring and kill the fat ox, and let us eat and be merry;

24 For this my son was dead, and has come to life; he was lost and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 But his elder son was in the field; and as he came near the house, he heard the voice of the singing of many.

26 And he called one of the boys, and asked him what it was all about.

27 He said to him, Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fat ox, because he received him safe and well.

28 And he became angry and would not go in; so his father came out and besought him.

29 But he said to his father, Behold, how many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your commandment; and yet you never gave me even a kid, that I might make merry with my friends.

30 But for this son of yours, after he had wasted your wealth with harlots and come back, you have killed the fat ox.

31 His father said to him, My son, you are always with me, and everything which is mine is yours.

32 It was right for us to make merry and rejoice; for this your brother was dead and has come to life; and was lost and is found.

18 Устану, і піду́ я до батька свого, та й скажу йому: „Прогрішився я, отче, против неба та су́проти тебе.	18 I will rise and go to my father, and say to him, My father, I have sinned before heaven, and before you;
19 Недостойний я вже зватись сином твоїм; прийми ж мене, як одно́го з своїх наймитів“.	19 And I am no longer worthy to be called your son; just make me like one of your hired workers.
20 І, вставши, пішов він до ба́тька свого́. А коли він далеко ще був, його ба́тько вгледів його, — і перепо́внився жа́лем: і побіг він, і кинувсь на шию йому, і зачав цілувати його!	20 And he rose up and came to his father. And while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him, and had compassion on him, and he ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

25 А син ста́рший його був на полі. І коли він ішов й наближа́вся до дому, почув музи́ки та танці.	25 But his elder son was in the field; and as he came near the house, he heard the voice of the singing of many.
26 І покли́кав одно́го зо слуг, та й спитав: „Що це таке?“	26 And he called one of the boys, and asked him what it was all about.
27 А той каже йому: „То вернувся твій брат, і твій ба́тько звелів заколоти теля відгодо́ване, — бож здоровим його він прийняв“.	27 He said to him, Your brother has come; and your father has killed the fat ox, because he received him safe and well.
28 І розгнівався той, — і ввійти не хотів. Тоді вийшов батько його й став просити його.	28 And he became angry and would not go in; so his father came out and besought him.
29 А той відповів і до батька сказав: „Ото, стільки ро́ків служу́ я тобі, і ніко́ли нака́зу твого не пору́шив, — ти ж ніко́ли мені й козеняти не дав, щоб із при́ятелями своїми поті́шився я.	29 But he said to his father, Behold, how many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed your commandment; and yet you never gave me even a kid, that I might make merry with my friends.
30 Коли ж син твій вернувся оцей, що проїв твій маєток із блудни́цями, — ти для нього звелів заколоти теля відгодо́ване“.	30 But for this son of yours, after he had wasted your wealth with harlots and come back, you have killed the fat ox.
31 І сказав він йому: „Ти за́вжди зо мною, дитино, і все моє — то твоє!	31 His father said to him, My son, you are always with me, and everything which is mine is yours.
32 Веселитись та тішитись треба було́, бо цей брат твій був мертвий — і ожив, був пропав — і знайшовся!“	32 It was right for us to make merry and rejoice; for this your brother was dead and has come to life; and was lost and is found.
