Глава 23

1 Все встали и повели Иисуса к Пилату.

2 Там они начали обвинять Его: — Мы установили, что Этот Человек совращает наш народ. Он запрещает платить дань кесарю и называет Себя Христом, Царем.

3 Пилат спросил Иисуса: — Ты Царь иудеев? — Ты сам так говоришь, — ответил Иисус.

4 Тогда Пилат сказал первосвященникам и толпе: — У меня нет никаких оснований осудить Этого Человека.

5 Но они настаивали: — Он Своим учением возмущает народ по всей Иудее, начал в Галилее, а теперь пришел сюда.

6 — Этот Человек — галилеянин? — спросил, услышав это, Пилат.

7 И узнав, что Иисус был из области, подвластной Ироду, который тоже был в это время в Иерусалиме, он послал Иисуса к нему.

8 Ирод, увидев Иисуса, очень обрадовался, потому что уже давно хотел Его увидеть. Он много слышал об Иисусе и надеялся, что Тот совершит для него какое-нибудь чудо.

9 Он задавал Ему много вопросов, но Иисус ничего не отвечал.

10 Стоявшие там первосвященники и учители Закона усиленно обвиняли Иисуса.

11 Ирод же и его солдаты, посмеявшись и поиздевавшись над Иисусом, надели на Него красивую мантию и отослали обратно к Пилату.

12 В этот день Ирод и Пилат стали друзьями, а прежде они враждовали.

13 Пилат, созвав первосвященников, начальников и народ,

14 сказал им: — Вы привели ко мне Этого Человека и сказали, что Он подстрекает народ. Допросив Его в вашем присутствии, я не нахожу Его виновным в том, в чем вы Его обвиняете.

15 Ирод тоже не нашел в Нем никакой вины и отослал Его обратно к нам. Как видите, Он не сделал ничего, достойного смерти.

16 Поэтому я прикажу бичевать Его, а затем отпущу.

17 (Дело в том, что на праздник он должен был отпустить одного из заключенных.)

18 Тогда все в один голос закричали: — Смерть Ему! Отпусти нам Варавву!

19 (Варавва был заключен в темницу за поднятый в городе мятеж и за убийство.)

20 Пилат же хотел отпустить Иисуса и еще раз спросил их.

21 Но они продолжали кричать: — Распни, распни Его!

22 Пилат в третий раз спросил: — За что? Какое зло сделал Он? Я не нашел за Ним никакой вины, за которую Он мог бы быть приговорен к смерти. Я прикажу бичевать Его, а затем отпущу!

23 Но они продолжали громко кричать и настаивать, чтобы Иисус был распят. В конце концов криками они добились своего.

24 Пилат согласился выполнить их требование.

25 Он освободил, как они и просили, того, кто находился в темнице за бунт и за убийство, а Иисуса отдал на их волю.

26 Когда Иисуса повели на распятие, конвоиры схватили некоего Симона из Кирены, шедшего с поля, взвалили на него крест и заставили нести его за Иисусом.

27 Среди множества людей, шедших за Иисусом, были и женщины, которые били себя в грудь и рыдали о Нем.

28 Иисус повернулся к ним и сказал: — Дочери Иерусалима, не плачьте обо Мне, плачьте лучше о себе и о своих детях.

29 Наступает такое время, когда будут говорить: «Блаженны бесплодные, нерожавшие и не кормившие грудью!».

30 Тогда «люди скажут горам: „Падите на нас!“ и холмам: „Покройте нас!“».

31 Ведь если с молодым и зеленым деревом делают такое, то что же будет с сухим?

32 С Иисусом вели на казнь и двух преступников.

33 Когда они пришли на место, называемое Лобным, там распяли и Его, и преступников, одного по правую, а другого по левую сторону от Него.

34 Иисус говорил: — Отец, прости им, ведь они не знают, что делают. Солдаты разделили между собой одежду Иисуса, бросив жребий.

35 Народ стоял и смотрел. Начальники же смеялись над Ним: — Спасал других! Пусть теперь спасет Самого Себя, если Он Божий Избранник — Христос!

36 Солдаты тоже насмехались над Ним. Они давали Иисусу кислое вино

37 и говорили: — Спаси Себя, если Ты Царь иудеев!

38 А над Иисусом на кресте была надпись: «это царь иудеев».

39 Один из распятых преступников оскорблял Его, говоря: — Разве Ты не Христос? Спаси Себя и нас!

40 Другой же унимал его и говорил: — Побойся Бога! Ведь ты приговорен к тому же.

41 Мы наказаны справедливо и получили по заслугам, а Этот Человек не сделал ничего плохого.

42 И он сказал: — Иисус, вспомни меня, когда придешь в Свое Царство!

43 — Говорю тебе истину: сегодня ты будешь со Мной в раю, — ответил ему Иисус.

44 Было около шестого часа дня, и по всей земле стало темно, и это продолжалось до девятого часа.

45 Солнце померкло, и завеса в храме разорвалась на две части.

46 Иисус громко крикнул: — Отец, в Твои руки Я отдаю Мой дух! Сказав это, Он испустил дух.

47 Когда сотник все это увидел, он прославил Бога и сказал: — Этот Человек действительно был праведником!

48 И все люди, собравшиеся посмотреть на казнь, увидев, что произошло, возвращались по домам, ударяя себя в грудь.

49 Но все, кто знал Иисуса, включая и женщин, которые шли за Ним из Галилеи, стояли в отдалении, наблюдая за происходящим.

50 Там был добрый и праведный человек, которого звали Иосиф. Будучи членом Совета,

51 он, однако, не был согласен с решением и делом иудейских вождей. Иосиф был уроженцем города Аримафеи в Иудее и ожидал Божьего Царства.

52 Этот человек пошел к Пилату и попросил тело Иисуса.

53 Он снял тело, обернул его в льняное полотно и положил в высеченную в скале гробницу, где еще никого до этого не хоронили.

54 Это была пятница — день приготовления к субботе, которая уже наступала.

55 За Иосифом пошли женщины, пришедшие с Иисусом из Галилеи, они видели гробницу и то, как тело Иисуса было положено в нее.

Chapter 23

1 THEN the whole company of them rose up, and brought him to Pilate;

2 And began to accuse him, saying, We found this man misleading our people, and forbidding to pay the head-tax to Caesar; and he says concerning himself that he is a King, even the Christ.

3 Pilate asked him and said, Are you the king of the Jews? He said to him, You say that.

4 Then Pilate said to the high priests and the people, I cannot find any fault against this man.

5 But they shouted and said, He has stirred up our people, teaching throughout Judaea, and beginning from Galilee even to this place.

6 When Pilate heard the name Galilee, he asked if the man was a Galilean.

7 And when he knew that he was under the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him to Herod, because he was in Jerusalem in those days.

8 When Herod saw Jesus he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things concerning him; and he hoped to see some miracle by him.

9 And he asked him many words; but Jesus gave him no answer.

10 But the high priests and the scribes stood, and accused him bitterly.

11 And Herod and his soldiers insulted him, and mocked him, and dressed him in a scarlet robe, and sent him to Pilate.

12 And that day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other; for there was a longstanding enmity between them.

13 Then Pilate called the high priests and the leaders of the people,

14 And he said to them, You brought me this man, as if he were misleading your people; and behold, I have examined him before your own eyes, and I have found no fault in this man concerning all that you accuse him.

15 Not even has Herod; for I sent him to him; and behold, he has done nothing worthy of death.

16 I will therefore chastise him, and release him.

17 For there was a custom to release to them one at the feast.

18 But all the people cried out saying, Get rid of him, and release to us Bar-Abbas;

19 Who because of sedition and murder which had happened in the city, was cast into prison.

20 Again Pilate spoke to them, desiring to release Jesus.

21 But they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.

22 And he said to them the third time, What evil has he done? I have found nothing in him, worthy of death; I will therefore chastise him, and release him.

23 But they persisted with loud voices, and asked to crucify him. And their voice and that of the high priests prevailed.

24 Then Pilate commanded to have their request granted.

25 So he released to them the one who because of sedition and murder was cast into prison, whom they asked for; and he delivered Jesus to their will.

26 And while they took him away, they laid hold of Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming from the field, and they placed the end of the cross on him, to carry it with Jesus.

27 And many people followed him, and the women who were mourning and wailing over him.

28 But Jesus turned to them and said, O daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep over me; but weep over yourselves, and over your own children.

29 For behold, the days are coming, in which they will say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never gave birth, and the breasts that never gave suck.

30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

31 For if they do these things with the green wood, what will be done with dry wood?

32 And there were coming with him two others, malefactors, to be put to death.

33 And when they came to a place which is called The Skull, they crucified him there, and the malefactors, one on his right and one on his left.

34 And Jesus said, O Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing. And they divided his garments and cast lots over them.

35 The people stood looking on. And even the leaders of the synagogue mocked him, and said, He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ, the chosen one of God.

36 And the soldiers ridiculed him, as they came near him and offered him vinegar,

37 Saying to him, If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.

38 There was also an inscription which was written over him, in Greek and Roman, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 Now one of the malefactors who were crucified with him, blasphemed against him, saying, If you are the Christ, save yourself and save us also.

40 But the other rebuked him, and said to him, Do you not fear even God, for you are also in the same judgment?

41 And ours is just, for we are paid as we deserve and as we have done; but he has done nothing wrong.

42 And he said to Jesus, Remember me, my Lord, when you come in your kingdom.

43 Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you today, you will be with me in Paradise. *

44 Now it was about the sixth hour, and darkness fell upon the whole earth, until the ninth hour.

45 And the sun was darkened, and the door curtains of the temple were torn in the center.

46 Then Jesus cried with a loud voice and said, O my Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit. He said this and passed away.

47 When the centurion saw what had happened, he praised God and said, Truly this was a righteous man.

48 And all the people who were gathered together to see this sight, when they saw what had happened, returned, beating their breasts.

49 And all the acquaintances of Jesus stood afar off, and the women who had come with him from Galilee, and they were beholding these things.

50 There was a man named Joseph the counsellor of Arimathaea, a city of Judaea, a good and righteous man.

51 He did not agree with their wishes and their actions; and he waited for the kingdom of God.

52 He went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.

53 And he took it down and wrapped it in fine linen, and laid it in a hewn tomb, in which no one was ever laid.

54 This was a Friday, and the sabbath was approaching.

55 The women who had come with him from Galilee were near, and they saw the tomb, and how his body was laid.

56 And they returned and prepared spices and perfumes. And on the sabbath they rested, as it is commanded.

5 Но они настаивали: — Он Своим учением возмущает народ по всей Иудее, начал в Галилее, а теперь пришел сюда.	5 But they shouted and said, He has stirred up our people, teaching throughout Judaea, and beginning from Galilee even to this place.
6 — Этот Человек — галилеянин? — спросил, услышав это, Пилат.	6 When Pilate heard the name Galilee, he asked if the man was a Galilean.
7 И узнав, что Иисус был из области, подвластной Ироду, который тоже был в это время в Иерусалиме, он послал Иисуса к нему.	7 And when he knew that he was under the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him to Herod, because he was in Jerusalem in those days.
8 Ирод, увидев Иисуса, очень обрадовался, потому что уже давно хотел Его увидеть. Он много слышал об Иисусе и надеялся, что Тот совершит для него какое-нибудь чудо.	8 When Herod saw Jesus he was exceedingly glad, for he had wanted to see him for a long time, because he had heard many things concerning him; and he hoped to see some miracle by him.
9 Он задавал Ему много вопросов, но Иисус ничего не отвечал.	9 And he asked him many words; but Jesus gave him no answer.

11 Ирод же и его солдаты, посмеявшись и поиздевавшись над Иисусом, надели на Него красивую мантию и отослали обратно к Пилату.	11 And Herod and his soldiers insulted him, and mocked him, and dressed him in a scarlet robe, and sent him to Pilate.
12 В этот день Ирод и Пилат стали друзьями, а прежде они враждовали.	12 And that day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other; for there was a longstanding enmity between them.
13 Пилат, созвав первосвященников, начальников и народ,	13 Then Pilate called the high priests and the leaders of the people,
14 сказал им: — Вы привели ко мне Этого Человека и сказали, что Он подстрекает народ. Допросив Его в вашем присутствии, я не нахожу Его виновным в том, в чем вы Его обвиняете.	14 And he said to them, You brought me this man, as if he were misleading your people; and behold, I have examined him before your own eyes, and I have found no fault in this man concerning all that you accuse him.

39 Один из распятых преступников оскорблял Его, говоря: — Разве Ты не Христос? Спаси Себя и нас!	39 Now one of the malefactors who were crucified with him, blasphemed against him, saying, If you are the Christ, save yourself and save us also.
40 Другой же унимал его и говорил: — Побойся Бога! Ведь ты приговорен к тому же.	40 But the other rebuked him, and said to him, Do you not fear even God, for you are also in the same judgment?
41 Мы наказаны справедливо и получили по заслугам, а Этот Человек не сделал ничего плохого.	41 And ours is just, for we are paid as we deserve and as we have done; but he has done nothing wrong.
42 И он сказал: — Иисус, вспомни меня, когда придешь в Свое Царство!	42 And he said to Jesus, Remember me, my Lord, when you come in your kingdom.
43 — Говорю тебе истину: сегодня ты будешь со Мной в раю, — ответил ему Иисус.	43 Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you today, you will be with me in Paradise. *
