Глава 12

1 Ефрем питается ветром, гоняется за восточным ветром весь день, умножая ложь и насилие. Он заключает соглашения с Ассирией и посылает оливковое масло Египту.

2 У Господа есть судебная тяжба против Иудеи. Он накажет дом Иакова по путям его и воздаст ему по его делам.

3 Еще в утробе Иаков схватил своего брата за пятку, а возмужав, он боролся с Богом.

4 Он боролся с Ангелом и превозмог Его. Он плакал и умолял Его о благосклонности. В Вефиле Бог нашел Иакова и там говорил с нами ;

5 Он — Господь, Бог Сил; Господь — Его имя.

6 Так вернись же к своему Богу, придерживайся любви и справедливости и всегда ожидай своего Бога.

7 Торговцы используют неверные весы и любят обманывать,

8 а народ Ефрема хвастается: «Я очень богат. Я разбогател. Но во всех моих делах никто не найдет во мне ничего незаконного, и ничего грешного».

9 — Я — Господь, твой Бог, Который вывел тебя из Египта. Я заставлю тебя снова жить в шатрах, как в дни праздника Шалашей.

10 Я говорил с пророками, дал им много видений, через них рассказывал притчи.

11 Есть ли зло в Галааде? Его жители ничтожны! Приносят ли они в жертву быков в Гилгале? Их жертвенники будут как груды камней на вспаханном поле.

12 Иаков убежал в страну Арам. Он работал за жену, и, чтобы заплатить за нее, он пас овец.

13 Господь через пророка вывел Израиль из Египта, и через пророка Он охранял его.

14 Но Ефрем разгневал Господа. Владыка оставит на нем вину за его кровопролитие и воздаст ему за это презрение.

Hosea

Chapter 12

1 EPHRAIM feeds on wind and follows after the tempest all the day long; they have multiplied lies and prey; they have made a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

2 The LORD has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; and according to his devices will he recompense him.

3 In the womb he deceived his brother, and by his might he became great in the presence of God;

4 Yea, he prevailed over the angel, he made supplication to him; he found him in Beth-el, and there he spoke with him.

5 Even the LORD the God of hosts has remembered him.

6 Therefore return to your God; keep mercy and justice, and wait for your God continually.

7 The balances of deceit are in the hand of Canaan, he loves to oppress.

8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found grief; but all my labors will not be enough to rid me of the sin which I have sinned.

9 I am the LORD your God who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. I will again make you to dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feasts.

10 I have spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions and used similitudes by the ministry of the prophets.

11 In Gilead you suffered pain, and in Gilgal you sacrificed bullocks to falsehood; your altars are like dry stalks in a barren field.

12 Jacob fled to the land of Aram, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

13 And by the prophets the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by the prophets was he preserved.

14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly; therefore his blood shall come upon him, and his reproach shall his LORD return to him.
