Глава 5

1 Когда все аморрейские цари к западу от Иордана и все ханаанские цари у побережья услышали, что Господь осушил перед израильтянами для переправы Иордан, их сердца ослабели и в них не осталось духа сопротивляться израильтянам.

2 Тогда Господь сказал Иисусу: — Сделай каменные ножи и вновь сделай израильтянам обрезание.

3 Иисус сделал каменные ножи и обрезал израильтян на холме Крайних плотей.

4 Вот почему он сделал это: все, кто вышел из Египта, — все мужчины, годные к воинской службе, — умерли в пустыне по пути, после выхода из Египта.

5 Те, кто вышел, уже были обрезаны, но те, кто родился в пустыне на пути из Египта, не были обрезаны.

6 Израильтяне скитались по пустыне сорок лет, пока все мужчины, которые были годны к воинской службе, когда они вышли из Египта, не умерли, потому что они не послушались Господа. Ведь Господь поклялся им, что они не увидят землю, которую Он с клятвой обещал их отцам, — землю, где течет молоко и мед.

7 На смену им пришли их сыновья, которым Иисус и сделал обрезание. Они были еще не обрезаны, потому что их не обрезали в пути.

8 И после того, как весь народ был обрезан, они оставались там в лагере, пока не выздоровели.

9 Господь сказал Иисусу: — Сегодня Я снял с вас позор Египта. Поэтому то место и называется Гилгал до сегодняшнего дня.

10 Вечером четырнадцатого дня того месяца израильтяне, стоявшие лагерем в Гилгале на равнинах Иерихона, отпраздновали Пасху.

11 В день после Пасхи, в тот самый день, они ели плоды той земли: пресный хлеб и жареное зерно.

12 Манна перестала падать на другой день после того, как они стали есть плоды той земли. У израильтян больше не было манны, и в тот год они ели плоды ханаанской земли.

13 Когда Иисус находился неподалеку от Иерихона, он увидел перед собой мужчину, стоящего с обнаженным мечом в руке. Иисус подошел к нему и спросил: — Ты за нас или за наших врагов?

14 — Я пришел как вождь Господнего воинства, — ответил он. Иисус поклонился лицом до земли и спросил его: — Что мой господин хочет сказать своему слуге?

15 Вождь Господнего воинства ответил: — Сними свои сандалии, потому что место, на котором ты стоишь, свято. Иисус сделал это.

16 Ворота Иерихона были плотно заперты из-за страха перед израильтянами. Никто не выходил оттуда, и никто туда не входил.

2 At that time6256 the LORD3068 said559 to Joshua,3091 Make6213 you sharp6697 knives,2719 and circumcise4135 again7725 the children1121 of Israel3478 the second8145 time.

3 And Joshua3091 made6213 him sharp6697 knives,2719 and circumcised4135 the children1121 of Israel3478 at413 the hill1389 of the foreskins.6190

4 And this2088 is the cause1697 why834 Joshua3091 did circumcise:4135 All3605 the people5971 that came3318 out of Egypt,4714 that were males,2145 even all3605 the men582 of war,4421 died4191 in the wilderness4057 by the way,1870 after they came3318 out of Egypt.4714

5 Now3588 all3605 the people5971 that came3318 out were circumcised:4135 but all3605 the people5971 that were born3209 in the wilderness4057 by the way1870 as they came3318 forth3318 out of Egypt,4714 them they had not circumcised.4135

6 For the children1121 of Israel3478 walked1980 forty705 years8141 in the wilderness,4057 till5704 all3605 the people1471 that were men582 of war,4421 which came3318 out of Egypt,4714 were consumed,8552 because834 they obeyed8085 not the voice6963 of the LORD:3068 to whom834 1992 the LORD3068 swore7650 that he would not show7200 them the land,776 which834 the LORD3068 swore7650 to their fathers1 that he would give5414 us, a land776 that flows2100 with milk2461 and honey.1706

7 And their children,1121 whom he raised6965 up in their stead,8478 them Joshua3091 circumcised:4135 for they were uncircumcised,6189 because3588 they had not circumcised4135 them by the way.1870

8 And it came1961 to pass, when834 they had done8552 circumcising4135 all3605 the people,1471 that they stayed3427 in their places8478 in the camp,4264 till5704 they were whole.2421

9 And the LORD3068 said559 to Joshua,3091 This day3117 have I rolled1556 away the reproach2781 of Egypt4714 from off5921 you. Why the name8034 of the place4725 is called7121 Gilgal1537 to this2088 day.3117

10 And the children1121 of Israel3478 encamped2583 in Gilgal,1537 and kept6213 the passover6453 on the fourteenth702 6240 day3117 of the month2320 at even6153 in the plains6160 of Jericho.3405

14 And he said,559 No;3808 but as captain8269 of the host6635 of the LORD3068 am I now6258 come.935 And Joshua3091 fell5307 on413 his face6440 to the earth,776 and did worship,7812 and said559 to him, What4100 said1696 my Lord113 to his servant?5650

15 And the captain8269 of the LORD's3068 host6635 said559 to Joshua,3091 Loose5394 your shoe5275 from off5921 your foot;7272 for the place4725 where on834 5921 you stand5975 is holy.6944 And Joshua3091 did6213 so.3651
