1 Надел Юсуфа начинался у Иордана, близ Иерихона, к востоку от иерихонских вод, и тянулся оттуда через пустыню к нагорьям Вефиля.

2 Он продолжался от Вефиля (то есть Луза), переходил к землям аркитян в Атароте,

3 спускался на запад к землям иафлетян до области Нижнего Бет-Хорона и к Гезеру, заканчиваясь у моря.

4 Манасса и Ефраим, потомки Юсуфа, получили свой надел.

5 Вот земли Ефраима по кланам:граница их надела проходила от Атарот-Аддара на востоке до Верхнего Бет-Хорона,

6 и тянулась к морю. От Микметата на севере она сворачивала на восток к Таанат-Шило, проходя за ним к Ианоху на востоке.

7 Затем она спускалась от Ианоха к Атароту и Нааре, примыкала к Иерихону и выходила к Иордану.

8 От Таппуаха граница шла на запад к реке Кане и доходила до самого моря. Таков был удел рода ефраимитов, по кланам.

9 Ещё он включал все города с окрестными поселениями, которые были отделены ефраимитам в наделе манасситов.

10 Они не выселили хананеев, живущих в Гезере; до сегодняшнего дня хананеи живут среди ефраимитов, но как подневольные.

Chapter 16

1 AND the lot of the descendants of Joseph fell from the Jordan by Jericho to the waters of Jericho on the east, into the wilderness that goes up from Jericho to mount Beth-el,

2 And goes out from Beth-el to Luz, and then passes along to the border of Ebra and Ataroth,

3 And goes down westward to the border of Palta, as far as the border of Beth-hauran, the lower, then to Gadar; and its limits extended to the sea.

4 So the descendants of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

5 And the border of the descendants of Ephraim according to their families was thus: the boundary of their inheritance was Ataroth and Addar, as far as Beth-hauran, the upper;

6 Then the border went westward to the northern portion; after which the border turned eastward below Shiloh, and passed by it on the east of Jaloh;

7 And it went down from Jaloh to Ataroth and Jagrath and Pagar, and came to Jericho, and went out of Tappuah to the Jordan;

8 And the border went out westward to the river Kabah; and the limits thereof were at the sea. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Ephraim by their families.

9 And the cities which were set apart for the descendants of Ephraim were within the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.

10 And they did not destroy the Canaanites that dwelt in Gadar; so the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites to this day, but they were brought into subjection, and they pay tribute.

9 And the cities which were set apart for the descendants of Ephraim were within the inheritance of the children of Manasseh, all the cities with their villages.
