Книга пророка Амоса

Глава 3

1 Выслушайте слово, что изрек ГОСПОДЬ о вас, сыны Израилевы, обо всем народе, который Он вывел из Египта:

2 «Из всех народов земли вас одних Я избрал, потому и будете вы в ответе за все беззакония ваши».

3 Пойдут ли двое вместе, если о том не сговорятся заранее?

4 И лев огласит ли рыком своим заросли, если не увидит добычи? Подаст ли он голос из логова своего, если ничего не поймает?

5 Попадет ли птица в силки на земле, если они без приманки поставлены? Захлопнется ли ловушка, если в нее ничто не попало?

6 Если тревогу в городе рог вострубит, не вызовет ли это беспокойства в народе? Так же и бедствие, коли пало оно на город, разве не ГОСПОДЬ за ним стоит?

7 Ведь не делает Владыка ГОСПОДЬ ничего, не открыв прежде замысла Своего слугам Своим, пророкам.

8 Лев заревел, кто не устрашится? Слово изрек Владыка ГОСПОДЬ, кто посмеет не быть пророком Его?

9 Объявите живущим в чертогах Ашдода и в чертогах Египта — скажите им: «Соберитесь на холмах вокруг Самарии и посмотрите на нестерпимое бесчинство, что в ней творится, и на угнетение среди ее обитателей!»

10 «Могут ли живущие в чертогах поступать справедливо, если число грабежей и насилий у них лишь возрастает?!» — это ГОСПОДА слово.

11 «А посему, — так говорит Владыка ГОСПОДЬ, — противник обложит эту страну, сокрушит, Самария, силу твою и ограбит твои чертоги».

12 Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: «Как пастух, пытавшийся спасти овцу от льва, иногда находит всего лишь пару ее берцовых костей или уха обрывок, так вот и сыны Израилевы, в Самарии живущие, спасутся из рук врага: разве что с обломком ложа или частью какой от кровати».

13 «Послушайте и предупредите потомков Иакова! — Владыка ГОСПОДЬ, Бог Воинств, провозглашает. —

14 В день, когда возьмусь Я за Израиля, за измены его, возьмусь и за жертвенники Бет-Эля: отсечены будут рога у жертвенников и наземь брошены.

15 Сокрушу и дворцы, зимний и летний, исчезнут дома, слоновой костью изукрашенные, каждый особняк разрушен будет», — таково вещее слово ГОСПОДНЕ!

Chapter 3

1 HEAR this word that the LORD has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

2 You only have I known of all the peoples and of all the families of the earth; therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

3 Will two men go on a journey together unless they have made an appointment?

4 Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Or does a lion cry out of his den if he has taken no prey?

5 Will a bird fall into a snare upon the earth without a hunter? Or can a trap spring up from the ground and catch the prey without being set?

6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people be not afraid? Or shall there be misfortune in a city and the LORD has not done it?

7 Surely the LORD God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

8 The lion has roared, who will not fear? The LORD God has spoken, who can but prophesy?

9 Proclaim it in the palaces of Ashdod and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountain of Samaria, and see the great tumults in the midst thereof and the oppression which is in it.

10 For they do not know how to reprove, says the LORD, but they store up plunder and spoil in their palaces.

11 Therefore thus says the LORD: A calamity shall surround the land; and its strength shall be brought down, and its palaces shall be spoiled.

12 Thus says the LORD: As the shepherd takes out of the mouth of the lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be delivered who dwell in Samaria, along with the people who dwell in Damascus, by a staff that strikes suddenly.

13 Hear, and testify in the house of Jacob, says the LORD God, the God of hosts of Israel,

14 That in the day that I punish the transgressions of Israel I will also punish the altars of Beth-el; and the horns of the altars shall be cut off and fall to the ground.

15 And I will destroy the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and great houses shall be demolished, says the LORD.

7 Ведь не делает Владыка ГОСПОДЬ ничего, не открыв прежде замысла Своего слугам Своим, пророкам.

7 Surely the LORD God does nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

8 Лев заревел, кто не устрашится? Слово изрек Владыка ГОСПОДЬ, кто посмеет не быть пророком Его?

8 The lion has roared, who will not fear? The LORD God has spoken, who can but prophesy?

9 Объявите живущим в чертогах Ашдода и в чертогах Египта — скажите им: «Соберитесь на холмах вокруг Самарии и посмотрите на нестерпимое бесчинство, что в ней творится, и на угнетение среди ее обитателей!»

9 Proclaim it in the palaces of Ashdod and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountain of Samaria, and see the great tumults in the midst thereof and the oppression which is in it.

10 «Могут ли живущие в чертогах поступать справедливо, если число грабежей и насилий у них лишь возрастает?!» — это ГОСПОДА слово.

10 For they do not know how to reprove, says the LORD, but they store up plunder and spoil in their palaces.

11 «А посему, — так говорит Владыка ГОСПОДЬ, — противник обложит эту страну, сокрушит, Самария, силу твою и ограбит твои чертоги».

11 Therefore thus says the LORD: A calamity shall surround the land; and its strength shall be brought down, and its palaces shall be spoiled.

12 Так говорит ГОСПОДЬ: «Как пастух, пытавшийся спасти овцу от льва, иногда находит всего лишь пару ее берцовых костей или уха обрывок, так вот и сыны Израилевы, в Самарии живущие, спасутся из рук врага: разве что с обломком ложа или частью какой от кровати».

12 Thus says the LORD: As the shepherd takes out of the mouth of the lion two legs or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel be delivered who dwell in Samaria, along with the people who dwell in Damascus, by a staff that strikes suddenly.

13 «Послушайте и предупредите потомков Иакова! — Владыка ГОСПОДЬ, Бог Воинств, провозглашает. —

14 В день, когда возьмусь Я за Израиля, за измены его, возьмусь и за жертвенники Бет-Эля: отсечены будут рога у жертвенников и наземь брошены.
