Chapter 17

1 And there was1961 a man376 of mount4480 2022 Ephraim,669 whose name8034 was Micah.4321

2 And he said559 unto his mother,517 The eleven hundred505 3967 shekels of silver3701 that834 were taken3947 from thee, about which thou859 cursedst,422 and spakest559 of also1571 in mine ears,241 behold,2009 the silver3701 is with854 me; I589 took3947 it. And his mother517 said,559 Blessed1288 be thou of the LORD,3068 my son.1121

3 And when he had restored7725 853 the eleven hundred505 3967 shekels of silver3701 to his mother,517 his mother517 said,559 I had wholly dedicated6942 6942 853 the silver3701 unto the LORD3068 from my hand4480 3027 for my son,1121 to make6213 a graven image6459 and a molten image:4541 now6258 therefore I will restore7725 it unto thee.

4 Yet he restored7725 853 the money3701 unto his mother;517 and his mother517 took3947 two hundred3967 shekels of silver,3701 and gave5414 them to the founder,6884 who made6213 thereof a graven image6459 and a molten image:4541 and they were1961 in the house1004 of Micah.4321

5 And the man376 Micah4318 had a house1004 of gods,430 and made6213 an ephod,646 and teraphim,8655 and consecrated4390 853 3027 one259 of his sons,4480 1121 who became1961 his priest.3548

6 In those1992 days3117 there was no369 king4428 in Israel,3478 but every man376 did6213 that which was right3477 in his own eyes.5869

7 And there was1961 a young man5288 out of Bethlehem-judah4480 1035 3063 of the family4480 4940 of Judah,3063 who1931 was a Levite,3881 and he1931 sojourned1481 there.8033

8 And the man376 departed1980 out of the city4480 5892 from Bethlehem-judah4480 1035 3063 to sojourn1481 where834 he could find4672 a place: and he came935 to mount2022 Ephraim669 to5704 the house1004 of Micah,4318 as he journeyed.6213 1870

9 And Micah4318 said559 unto him, Whence4480 370 comest935 thou? And he said559 unto413 him, I595 am a Levite3881 of Bethlehem-judah,4480 1035 3063 and I595 go1980 to sojourn1481 where834 I may find4672 a place.

10 And Micah4318 said559 unto him, Dwell3427 with5978 me, and be1961 unto me a father1 and a priest,3548 and I595 will give5414 thee ten6235 shekels of silver3701 by the year,3117 and a suit6187 of apparel,899 and thy victuals.4241 So the Levite3881 went in.1980

11 And the Levite3881 was content2974 to dwell3427 with854 the man;376 and the young man5288 was1961 unto him as one259 of his sons.4480 1121

12 And Micah4318 consecrated4390 853 3027 the Levite;3881 and the young man5288 became1961 his priest,3548 and was1961 in the house1004 of Micah.4318

13 Then said559 Micah,4318 Now6258 know3045 I that3588 the LORD3068 will do me good,3190 seeing3588 I have1961 a Levite3881 to my priest.3548

1 Жил на Ефремовом нагорье человек по имени Миха.

2 Он однажды сказал своей матери: «Когда пропали у тебя тысяча сто шекелей серебра, я слышал, как ты проклинала вора. Но вот видишь — это серебро у меня, это я его взял». Мать ответила: «Да будет сын мой благословен ГОСПОДОМ!»

3 Миха возвратил матери тысячу сто шекелей серебра, и она сказала: «Я посвятила это серебро ГОСПОДУ — посвятила ради тебя, чтобы сделать из него резное изображение и литую статую. Поэтому передаю их тебе!»

4 Но сын вернул серебро матери, и та передала двести шекелей серебряных дел мастеру, который сделал из них резное изображение и статую. Их поставили в доме Михи.

5 Было у этого человека, Михи, святилище. И он сделал эфод и домашних божков, а одного из своих сыновей сам посвятил в священники.

6 Не было в то время царя в Израиле, каждый делал то, что считал правильным.

7 Был тогда в Ханаане юноша из Вифлеема Иудейского, из колена Иуды (он был левитом, но некоторое время жил как человек пришлый в Вифлееме).

8 Оставил он Вифлеем Иудейский и стал искать, где бы ему еще пожить человеком пришлым. В своих странствиях он пришел на Ефремово нагорье, к дому Михи.

9 Миха спросил его: «Откуда ты?» Он ответил: «Я левит из Вифлеема Иудейского, хожу, ищу, где поселиться».

10 Миха сказал ему: «Оставайся у меня, будь мне отцом и священником! Я буду платить тебе по десять шекелей серебра в год и еще обеспечу одеждой и едой». Левит согласился

11 и решил остаться у этого человека. И стал левит ему как сын.

12 Миха посвятил левита, он стал у него священником и жил в доме Михи.

13 А Миха говорил: «Теперь я знаю, что ГОСПОДЬ даст мне успех, ведь у меня левит служит священником».

12 And Micah4318 consecrated4390 853 3027 the Levite;3881 and the young man5288 became1961 his priest,3548 and was1961 in the house1004 of Micah.4318

12 Миха посвятил левита, он стал у него священником и жил в доме Михи.

13 Then said559 Micah,4318 Now6258 know3045 I that3588 the LORD3068 will do me good,3190 seeing3588 I have1961 a Levite3881 to my priest.3548
