1 And it came1961 to pass at the end7093 of two full3117 years,8141 that Pharaoh6547 dreamed:2492 and, behold,2009 he stood5975 by the river.2975

2 And, behold,2009 there came5927 up out of the river2975 seven7651 well3303 favored4758 cows6510 and fat;1277 and they fed7462 in a meadow.260

3 And, behold,2009 seven7651 other312 cows6510 came5927 up after310 them out of the river,2975 ill7451 favored4758 and skinney;1851 1320 and stood5975 by the other cows6510 on the brink8193 of the river.2975

4 And the ill7451 favored4758 and skinney1851 1320 cows6510 did eat398 up the seven7651 well3303 favored4758 and fat1277 cows.6510 So Pharaoh6547 awoke.3364

5 And he slept3462 and dreamed2492 the second8145 time: and, behold,2009 seven7651 ears7641 of corn came5927 up on one259 stalk,7070 rank1277 and good.2896

8 And it came1961 to pass in the morning1242 that his spirit7307 was troubled;6470 and he sent7971 and called7121 for all3605 the magicians2748 of Egypt,4714 and all3605 the wise2450 men thereof: and Pharaoh6547 told5608 them his dream;2472 but there was none369 that could interpret6622 them to Pharaoh.6547

9 Then spoke1696 the chief8269 butler4945 to Pharaoh,6547 saying,559 I do remember2142 my faults2399 this day:3117

10 Pharaoh6547 was wroth7107 with his servants,5650 and put5414 me in ward4929 in the captain8269 of the guard's2876 house,1004 both me and the chief8269 baker:644

11 And we dreamed2492 a dream2472 in one259 night,3915 I and he; we dreamed2492 each man376 according to the interpretation6623 of his dream.2472

12 And there8033 was there with us a young5288 man,376 an Hebrew,5680 servant5650 to the captain8269 of the guard;2876 and we told5608 him, and he interpreted6622 to us our dreams;2472 to each man376 according to his dream2472 he did interpret.6622

13 And it came1961 to pass, as he interpreted6622 to us, so3651 it was; me he restored7725 to my office,3653 and him he hanged.8518

14 Then Pharaoh6547 sent7971 and called7121 Joseph,3130 and they brought7323 him hastily7323 out of the dungeon:953 and he shaved1548 himself, and changed2498 his raiment,8071 and came935 in to Pharaoh.6547

15 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to Joseph,3130 I have dreamed2492 a dream,2472 and there is none369 that can interpret6622 it: and I have heard8085 say559 of you, that you can understand8085 a dream2472 to interpret6622 it.

16 And Joseph3130 answered6030 Pharaoh,6547 saying,559 It is not in me: God430 shall give Pharaoh6547 an answer6030 of peace.7965

17 And Pharaoh6547 said1696 to Joseph,3130 In my dream,2472 behold,2005 I stood5975 on the bank8193 of the river:2975

18 And, behold,2009 there came5927 up out of the river2975 seven7651 cows,6510 fat1277 and well3303 favored;8389 and they fed7462 in a meadow:260

19 And, behold,2009 seven7651 other312 cows6510 came5927 up after310 them, poor1800 and very3966 ill7451 favored8389 and skinney,7534 such2007 as I never3808 saw7200 in all3605 the land776 of Egypt4714 for badness:7455

20 And the lean7534 and the ill7451 favored cows6510 did eat398 up the first7223 seven7651 fat1277 cows:6510

21 And when they had eaten935 them up, it could not be known3045 that they had eaten935 them; but they were still ill7451 favored, as at the beginning.8462 So I awoke.3364

22 And I saw7200 in my dream,2472 and, behold,2009 seven7651 ears7641 came5927 up in one259 stalk,7070 full4392 and good:2896

23 And, behold,2009 seven7651 ears,7641 withered,6798 thin,1851 and blasted7710 with the east6921 wind, sprung6779 up after310 them:

24 And the thin1851 ears7641 devoured1104 the seven7651 good2896 ears:7641 and I told559 this to the magicians;2748 but there was none369 that could declare5046 it to me.

25 And Joseph3130 said559 to Pharaoh,6547 The dream2472 of Pharaoh6547 is one:259 God430 has showed5046 Pharaoh6547 what853 834 he is about to do.6213

26 The seven7651 good2896 cows6510 are seven7651 years;8141 and the seven7651 good2896 ears7641 are seven7651 years:8141 the dream2472 is one.259

27 And the seven7651 thin7534 and ill7451 favored cows6510 that came5927 up after310 them are seven7651 years;8141 and the seven7651 empty7386 ears7641 blasted7710 with the east6921 wind shall be seven7651 years8141 of famine.7458

28 This1931 is the thing1697 which834 I have spoken1696 to Pharaoh:6547 What834 God430 is about to do6213 he shows7200 to Pharaoh.6547

29 Behold,2009 there come935 seven7651 years8141 of great1419 plenty7647 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt:4714

30 And there shall arise6965 after310 them seven7651 years8141 of famine;7458 and all3605 the plenty7647 shall be forgotten7911 in the land776 of Egypt;4714 and the famine7458 shall consume3615 the land;776

31 And the plenty7647 shall not be known3045 in the land776 by reason6440 of that famine7458 following;310 3651 for it shall be very3966 grievous.3515

32 And for that the dream2472 was doubled8138 to Pharaoh6547 twice;6471 it is because3588 the thing1697 is established3559 by God,430 and God430 will shortly4116 bring6213 it to pass.6213

33 Now therefore let Pharaoh6547 look7200 out a man376 discreet995 and wise,2450 and set7896 him over5921 the land776 of Egypt.4714

34 Let Pharaoh6547 do6213 this, and let him appoint6485 officers6496 over5921 the land,776 and take up the fifth2567 part of the land776 of Egypt4714 in the seven7651 plenteous7647 years.8141

35 And let them gather6908 all3605 the food400 of those428 good2896 years8141 that come,935 and lay6651 up corn1250 under8478 the hand3027 of Pharaoh,6547 and let them keep8104 food400 in the cities.5892

36 And that food400 shall be for store6487 to the land776 against the seven7651 years8141 of famine,7458 which834 shall be in the land776 of Egypt;4714 that the land776 perish3772 not through the famine.7458

37 And the thing1697 was good3190 in the eyes5869 of Pharaoh,6547 and in the eyes5869 of all3605 his servants.5650

38 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to his servants,5650 Can we find4672 such a one as this2088 is, a man376 in whom834 the Spirit7307 of God430 is?

40 You shall be over5921 my house,1004 and according5921 to your word6310 shall all3605 my people5971 be ruled:5401 only7535 in the throne3678 will I be greater1431 than you.

41 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to Joseph,3130 See,7200 I have set5414 you over5921 all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

51 And Joseph3130 called7121 the name8034 of the firstborn1060 Manasseh:4519 For God,430 said he, has made me forget5382 all3605 my toil,5999 and all3605 my father's1 house.1004

52 And the name8034 of the second8145 called7121 he Ephraim:669 For God430 has caused me to be fruitful6509 in the land776 of my affliction.6040

53 And the seven7651 years8141 of plenty,7647 that was in the land776 of Egypt,4714 were ended.3615

54 And the seven7651 years8141 of dearth7458 began2490 to come,935 according as Joseph3130 had said:559 and the dearth7458 was in all3605 lands;776 but in all3605 the land776 of Egypt4714 there was bread.3899

5 І знову заснув він. І снилося йому вдруге, — аж ось сходять на однім стеблі семеро колосків здорових та добрих.

6 А ось виростає за ними семеро колосків тонких та спалених східнім вітром.

7 І проковтнули ті тонкі́ колоски сім колосків здорових та повних. І прокинувся фараон, — а то був сон.

8 І сталося рано, — і занепоко́ївся дух його. І послав він, і поскликав усіх ворожбитів Єгипту та всіх мудреців його. І фараон розповів їм свій сон, — та ніхто не міг відгадати їх фараонові.

9 І говорив начальник чашників з фараоном, кажучи: „Я сьогодні згадую гріхи свої.

10 Розгнівався був фараон на рабів своїх, і вмістив мене під варту дому начальника царсько́ї сторожі, мене й начальника пекарів.

25 І сказав Йо́сип до фараона: „Сон фараонів — один він. Що́ Бог робить, те Він звістив фараонові.

26 Семеро корів добрих — то сім літ, і семеро колосків добрих — сім літ вони. А сон — один він.

27 А сім корів худих і бридки́х, що вийшли за ними, — сім літ вони, і сім колосків порожніх і спалених східнім вітром — то бу́дуть сім літ голодних.

28 Оце та річ, що я сказав був фараонові: Що́ Бог робить, те Він показав фараонові.

29 Ось приходять сім літ, — великий достаток у всім краї єгипетськім.

30 А по них настануть сім літ голодних, — і буде забутий увесь той достаток в єгипетській землі, і голод винищить край.

31 І не буде видно того достатку в краї через той голод, що настане по́тім, бо він буде дуже тяжки́й.

32 А що сон повторився фараонові двічі, це значить, що справа ця постановлена від Бога, і Бог незабаром виконає її.

33 А тепер нехай фараон наздрить чоловіка розумного й мудрого, і нехай поставить його над єгипетською землею.

34 Нехай учинить фараон, і нехай призна́чить урядників над краєм, і нехай за сім літ достатку збирає п'ятину врожаю єгипетської землі.

35 І нехай вони позбирають усю їжу тих добрих років, що приходять, і нехай вони позбирають збіжжя під руку фараонову, на їжу по містах, і нехай бережуть.

36 І буде та їжа на запа́с для краю на сім літ голодних, що настануть в єгипетській землі, — і край не буде знищений голодом“.

37 І була ця річ добра в оча́х фараона та в очах усіх його рабів.

38 І сказав фараон своїм рабам: „Чи зна́йдеться чоловік, як оцей, що Дух Божий у нім?“

39 І сказав фараон Йосипові: „Що Бог відкрив тобі це все, то немає такого розумного й мудрого, як ти.

40 Ти бу́деш над домом моїм, а слів твоїх уст буде слухатися ввесь наро́д мій. Тільки троном я буду вищий від тебе“.

41 І сказав фараон Йо́сипові: „Дивись, — я поставив тебе над усім краєм єгипетським“.

42 І зняв фараон персня свого з своєї руки, та й дав його на руку Йо́сипову, і зодягнув його в одежу віссо́нну, а на шию йому повісив золотого ланцюга.

43 І зробив, що він їздив його другим по́возом, і кричали перед обличчям його: „Кланяйтеся!“ І поставив його над усім єгипетським краєм.

44 І сказав фараон Йосипові: „Я фараон, а без тебе ніхто не підійме своєї руки та своєї ноги в усім краї єгипетськім“.

45 І назвав фараон ім'я Йосипові: Цофнат-Панеах, і дав йому за жінку Оснату, дочку Поті-Фера, жерця Ону. І Йосип піднявся над єгипетським краєм.

46 А Йосип був віку тридцяти літ, коли він став перед лицем фараона, царя єгипетського. І пішов Йосип від лиця фараонового, і перейшов через увесь єгипетський край.

47 А земля в сім літ достатку родила на повні жмені.

48 І зібрав він усю їжу семи літ, що була в єгипетськім кра́ї, і вмістив їжу по містах: їжу поля міста, що навколо нього, вмістив у ньо́му.

51 І назвав Йо́сип ім'я́ перворідному: Манасі́я, бо „Бог зробив мені, що я забув усе своє терпіння та ввесь дім мого батька“.

52 А ймення другому назвав: Єфрем, бо „розмножив мене Бог у краї недолі моєї“.

53 І скінчи́лися сім літ достатку, що були в єгипетськім краї.

54 І зачали наступати сім літ голодні, як сказав був Йосип. І був голод по всіх краях, а в усім єгипетськім краї був хліб.

55 Але виголоднів увесь єгипетський край, а наро́д став кричати до фараона про хліб. І сказав фараон усьому Єгиптові: „Ідіть до Йосипа. Що́ він вам скаже, те робіть“.

56 І був той голод на всій поверхні землі. І відчинив Йосип усе, що було́ в них, і продавав поживу Єгиптові. А голод зміцнявся в єгипетськім краї.

19 А ось виходять за ними семеро корів інші, бідні та дуже бридкі виглядом і худі тілом. Таких бридки́х, як вони, я не бачив у всьому краї єгипетському.

20 And the lean7534 and the ill7451 favored cows6510 did eat398 up the first7223 seven7651 fat1277 cows:6510

20 І корови худі та бридкі поз'їда́ли сім корів перших ситих.

21 And when they had eaten935 them up, it could not be known3045 that they had eaten935 them; but they were still ill7451 favored, as at the beginning.8462 So I awoke.3364

21 І ввійшли вони до черева їхнього, та не було знати, що ввійшли вони до черева їхнього, — і вигляд їх був лихий, як на початку. І я прокинувся.

22 And I saw7200 in my dream,2472 and, behold,2009 seven7651 ears7641 came5927 up in one259 stalk,7070 full4392 and good:2896

22 І побачив я в сні своїм знов, аж ось сходять на однім стеблі семеро колосків повних та добрих.

23 And, behold,2009 seven7651 ears,7641 withered,6798 thin,1851 and blasted7710 with the east6921 wind, sprung6779 up after310 them:

23 А ось виростає за ними семеро колосків худих, тонких, спалених східнім вітром.

24 And the thin1851 ears7641 devoured1104 the seven7651 good2896 ears:7641 and I told559 this to the magicians;2748 but there was none369 that could declare5046 it to me.

24 І проковтнули ті тонкі колоски сім колосків добрих. І розповів я те ворожбитам, та не було, хто б мені роз'яснив“.

25 And Joseph3130 said559 to Pharaoh,6547 The dream2472 of Pharaoh6547 is one:259 God430 has showed5046 Pharaoh6547 what853 834 he is about to do.6213

25 І сказав Йо́сип до фараона: „Сон фараонів — один він. Що́ Бог робить, те Він звістив фараонові.

26 The seven7651 good2896 cows6510 are seven7651 years;8141 and the seven7651 good2896 ears7641 are seven7651 years:8141 the dream2472 is one.259

26 Семеро корів добрих — то сім літ, і семеро колосків добрих — сім літ вони. А сон — один він.

27 And the seven7651 thin7534 and ill7451 favored cows6510 that came5927 up after310 them are seven7651 years;8141 and the seven7651 empty7386 ears7641 blasted7710 with the east6921 wind shall be seven7651 years8141 of famine.7458

27 А сім корів худих і бридки́х, що вийшли за ними, — сім літ вони, і сім колосків порожніх і спалених східнім вітром — то бу́дуть сім літ голодних.

28 This1931 is the thing1697 which834 I have spoken1696 to Pharaoh:6547 What834 God430 is about to do6213 he shows7200 to Pharaoh.6547

28 Оце та річ, що я сказав був фараонові: Що́ Бог робить, те Він показав фараонові.

29 Behold,2009 there come935 seven7651 years8141 of great1419 plenty7647 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt:4714

29 Ось приходять сім літ, — великий достаток у всім краї єгипетськім.

30 And there shall arise6965 after310 them seven7651 years8141 of famine;7458 and all3605 the plenty7647 shall be forgotten7911 in the land776 of Egypt;4714 and the famine7458 shall consume3615 the land;776

30 А по них настануть сім літ голодних, — і буде забутий увесь той достаток в єгипетській землі, і голод винищить край.

31 And the plenty7647 shall not be known3045 in the land776 by reason6440 of that famine7458 following;310 3651 for it shall be very3966 grievous.3515

31 І не буде видно того достатку в краї через той голод, що настане по́тім, бо він буде дуже тяжки́й.

32 And for that the dream2472 was doubled8138 to Pharaoh6547 twice;6471 it is because3588 the thing1697 is established3559 by God,430 and God430 will shortly4116 bring6213 it to pass.6213

32 А що сон повторився фараонові двічі, це значить, що справа ця постановлена від Бога, і Бог незабаром виконає її.

33 Now therefore let Pharaoh6547 look7200 out a man376 discreet995 and wise,2450 and set7896 him over5921 the land776 of Egypt.4714

33 А тепер нехай фараон наздрить чоловіка розумного й мудрого, і нехай поставить його над єгипетською землею.

34 Let Pharaoh6547 do6213 this, and let him appoint6485 officers6496 over5921 the land,776 and take up the fifth2567 part of the land776 of Egypt4714 in the seven7651 plenteous7647 years.8141

34 Нехай учинить фараон, і нехай призна́чить урядників над краєм, і нехай за сім літ достатку збирає п'ятину врожаю єгипетської землі.

35 And let them gather6908 all3605 the food400 of those428 good2896 years8141 that come,935 and lay6651 up corn1250 under8478 the hand3027 of Pharaoh,6547 and let them keep8104 food400 in the cities.5892

35 І нехай вони позбирають усю їжу тих добрих років, що приходять, і нехай вони позбирають збіжжя під руку фараонову, на їжу по містах, і нехай бережуть.

36 And that food400 shall be for store6487 to the land776 against the seven7651 years8141 of famine,7458 which834 shall be in the land776 of Egypt;4714 that the land776 perish3772 not through the famine.7458

36 І буде та їжа на запа́с для краю на сім літ голодних, що настануть в єгипетській землі, — і край не буде знищений голодом“.

37 And the thing1697 was good3190 in the eyes5869 of Pharaoh,6547 and in the eyes5869 of all3605 his servants.5650

37 І була ця річ добра в оча́х фараона та в очах усіх його рабів.

38 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to his servants,5650 Can we find4672 such a one as this2088 is, a man376 in whom834 the Spirit7307 of God430 is?

38 І сказав фараон своїм рабам: „Чи зна́йдеться чоловік, як оцей, що Дух Божий у нім?“

39 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to Joseph,3130 For as much310 as God430 has showed3045 you all3605 this,2063 there is none369 so discreet995 and wise2450 as you are:

39 І сказав фараон Йосипові: „Що Бог відкрив тобі це все, то немає такого розумного й мудрого, як ти.

40 You shall be over5921 my house,1004 and according5921 to your word6310 shall all3605 my people5971 be ruled:5401 only7535 in the throne3678 will I be greater1431 than you.

40 Ти бу́деш над домом моїм, а слів твоїх уст буде слухатися ввесь наро́д мій. Тільки троном я буду вищий від тебе“.

41 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to Joseph,3130 See,7200 I have set5414 you over5921 all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

41 І сказав фараон Йо́сипові: „Дивись, — я поставив тебе над усім краєм єгипетським“.

42 And Pharaoh6547 took5493 off his ring2885 from his hand,3027 and put5414 it on Joseph's3130 hand,3027 and arrayed3847 him in clothing899 of fine linen,8336 and put7760 a gold2091 chain7242 about5921 his neck;6677

42 І зняв фараон персня свого з своєї руки, та й дав його на руку Йо́сипову, і зодягнув його в одежу віссо́нну, а на шию йому повісив золотого ланцюга.

43 And he made him to ride7392 in the second4932 chariot4818 which834 he had; and they cried7121 before6440 him, Bow86 the knee: and he made5414 him ruler over5921 all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

43 І зробив, що він їздив його другим по́возом, і кричали перед обличчям його: „Кланяйтеся!“ І поставив його над усім єгипетським краєм.

44 And Pharaoh6547 said559 to Joseph,3130 I am Pharaoh,6547 and without1107 you shall no3808 man376 lift7311 up his hand3027 or foot7272 in all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

44 І сказав фараон Йосипові: „Я фараон, а без тебе ніхто не підійме своєї руки та своєї ноги в усім краї єгипетськім“.

45 And Pharaoh6547 called7121 Joseph's3130 name8034 Zaphnathpaaneah;6847 and he gave5414 him to wife802 Asenath621 the daughter1323 of Potipherah6319 priest3548 of On.204 And Joseph3130 went3318 out over5921 all the land776 of Egypt.4714

45 І назвав фараон ім'я Йосипові: Цофнат-Панеах, і дав йому за жінку Оснату, дочку Поті-Фера, жерця Ону. І Йосип піднявся над єгипетським краєм.

46 And Joseph3130 was thirty7970 years8141 old1121 when he stood5975 before6440 Pharaoh6547 king4428 of Egypt.4714 And Joseph3130 went3318 out from the presence6440 of Pharaoh,6547 and went5674 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

46 А Йосип був віку тридцяти літ, коли він став перед лицем фараона, царя єгипетського. І пішов Йосип від лиця фараонового, і перейшов через увесь єгипетський край.

47 And in the seven7651 plenteous7647 years8141 the earth776 brought6213 forth6213 by handfuls.7062

47 А земля в сім літ достатку родила на повні жмені.

48 And he gathered6908 up all3605 the food400 of the seven7651 years,8141 which834 were in the land776 of Egypt,4714 and laid5414 up the food400 in the cities:5892 the food400 of the field,7704 which834 was round5439 about every city,5892 laid5414 he up in the same.

48 І зібрав він усю їжу семи літ, що була в єгипетськім кра́ї, і вмістив їжу по містах: їжу поля міста, що навколо нього, вмістив у ньо́му.

49 And Joseph3130 gathered6651 corn1250 as the sand2344 of the sea,3220 very3966 much,7235 until5704 he left2308 numbering;5608 for it was without369 number.4557

49 І зібрав Йо́сип збіжжя дуже багато, як мо́рський пісок, аж перестав рахувати, бо не було вже числа.

50 And to Joseph3130 were born3205 two8147 sons1121 before2962 the years8141 of famine7458 came,935 which834 Asenath621 the daughter1323 of Potipherah6319 priest3548 of On204 bore3205 to him.

50 А Йосипові, поки прийшов рік голодний, уродилися два сини, що вродила йому Осната, дочка Поті-Фера, жерця Ону.

51 And Joseph3130 called7121 the name8034 of the firstborn1060 Manasseh:4519 For God,430 said he, has made me forget5382 all3605 my toil,5999 and all3605 my father's1 house.1004

51 І назвав Йо́сип ім'я́ перворідному: Манасі́я, бо „Бог зробив мені, що я забув усе своє терпіння та ввесь дім мого батька“.

52 And the name8034 of the second8145 called7121 he Ephraim:669 For God430 has caused me to be fruitful6509 in the land776 of my affliction.6040

52 А ймення другому назвав: Єфрем, бо „розмножив мене Бог у краї недолі моєї“.

53 And the seven7651 years8141 of plenty,7647 that was in the land776 of Egypt,4714 were ended.3615

53 І скінчи́лися сім літ достатку, що були в єгипетськім краї.

54 And the seven7651 years8141 of dearth7458 began2490 to come,935 according as Joseph3130 had said:559 and the dearth7458 was in all3605 lands;776 but in all3605 the land776 of Egypt4714 there was bread.3899

54 І зачали наступати сім літ голодні, як сказав був Йосип. І був голод по всіх краях, а в усім єгипетськім краї був хліб.

55 And when all3605 the land776 of Egypt4714 was famished,7456 the people5971 cried6817 to Pharaoh6547 for bread:3899 and Pharaoh6547 said559 to all3605 the Egyptians,4714 Go3212 to Joseph;3130 what834 he said559 to you, do.6213

55 Але виголоднів увесь єгипетський край, а наро́д став кричати до фараона про хліб. І сказав фараон усьому Єгиптові: „Ідіть до Йосипа. Що́ він вам скаже, те робіть“.

56 And the famine7458 was over5921 all3605 the face6440 of the earth:776 and Joseph3130 opened6605 all3605 the storehouses,834 and sold7666 to the Egyptians;4714 and the famine7458 waxed sore2388 in the land776 of Egypt.4714

56 І був той голод на всій поверхні землі. І відчинив Йосип усе, що було́ в них, і продавав поживу Єгиптові. А голод зміцнявся в єгипетськім краї.

57 And all3605 countries776 came935 into Egypt4714 to Joseph3130 for to buy7666 corn; because3588 that the famine7458 was so sore2388 in all3605 lands.776

57 І прибували зо всієї землі до Йосипа купити поживи, бо голод зміцнявся по всій землі.
