1 And Jacob3290 lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and looked,7200 and, behold,2009 Esau6215 came,935 and with him four702 hundred3967 men.376 And he divided2673 the children3206 to Leah,3812 and to Rachel,7354 and to the two8147 handmaids.8198

2 And he put7760 the handmaids8198 and their children3206 foremost,7223 and Leah3812 and her children3206 after,314 and Rachel7354 and Joseph3130 last.314

3 And he passed5674 over5674 before6440 them, and bowed7812 himself to the ground776 seven7651 times,6471 until5704 he came5066 near5066 to his brother.251

4 And Esau6215 ran7323 to meet7125 him, and embraced2263 him, and fell5307 on5921 his neck,6677 and kissed5401 him: and they wept.1058

5 And he lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and saw7200 the women802 and the children;3206 and said,559 Who4310 are those428 with you? And he said,559 The children3206 which834 God430 has graciously2603 given2603 your servant.5650

6 Then the handmaidens8198 came5066 near,5066 they and their children,3206 and they bowed7812 themselves.

7 And Leah3812 also1571 with her children3206 came5066 near,5066 and bowed7812 themselves: and after310 came5066 Joseph3130 near5066 and Rachel,7354 and they bowed7812 themselves.

8 And he said,559 What4310 mean you by all3605 this2088 drove4264 which834 I met?6298 And he said,559 These are to find4672 grace2580 in the sight5869 of my lord.113

9 And Esau6215 said,559 I have3426 enough,7227 my brother;251 keep1961 that you have to yourself.

10 And Jacob3290 said,559 No,408 I pray4994 you, if518 now4994 I have found4672 grace2580 in your sight,5869 then receive3947 my present4503 at my hand:3027 for therefore5921 3651 I have seen7200 your face,6440 as though I had seen7200 the face6440 of God,430 and you were pleased7521 with me.

11 Take,3947 I pray4994 you, my blessing1293 that is brought935 to you; because3588 God430 has dealt graciously2603 with me, and because3588 I have3426 enough.3605 And he urged6484 him, and he took3947 it.

12 And he said,559 Let us take our journey,5265 and let us go,3212 and I will go3212 before5048 you.

13 And he said559 to him, My lord113 knows3045 that the children3206 are tender,7390 and the flocks6629 and herds1241 with young5763 are with me: and if518 men should overdrive1849 them one259 day,3117 all3605 the flock6629 will die.4191

14 Let my lord,113 I pray4994 you, pass5674 over5674 before6440 his servant:5650 and I will lead5095 on softly,328 according7272 as the cattle4399 that goes before6440 me and the children3206 be able7272 to endure,7272 until5704 I come935 to my lord113 to Seir.8165

15 And Esau6215 said,559 Let me now4994 leave3322 with you some of the folk5971 that are with me. And he said,559 What4100 needs it? let me find4672 grace2580 in the sight5869 of my lord.113

16 So Esau6215 returned7725 that day3117 on his way1870 to Seir.8165

17 And Jacob3290 journeyed5265 to Succoth,5523 and built1129 him an house,1004 and made6213 booths5521 for his cattle:4735 therefore5921 3651 the name8034 of the place4725 is called7121 Succoth.5523

18 And Jacob3290 came935 to Shalem,8003 a city5892 of Shechem,7927 which834 is in the land776 of Canaan,3667 when he came935 from Padanaram;6307 and pitched2583 his tent before854 6440 the city.5892

19 And he bought7069 a parcel2513 of a field,7704 where834 he had spread5186 his tent,168 at the hand3027 of the children1121 of Hamor,2544 Shechem's7927 father,1 for an hundred3967 pieces of money.7192

20 And he erected5324 there8033 an altar,4196 and called7121 it Elelohe Israel.415

1 И возвел Иаков очи свои, и видит, и вот идет Исав, и с ним четыреста человек. Тогда он разделил детей Лии, Рахили и двум служанкам.

2 И поставил служанок и детей их впереди, Лию и детей ее за ними, а Рахиль и Иосифа позади.

3 А сам пошел перед ними, и поклонился до земли семь раз, подходя к брату своему.

4 Исав побежал ему навстречу, обнял его, бросился ему на шею, и целовал его, и плакали.

5 И возведши очи свои, увидел жен и детей, и спросил: кто это у тебя? Иаков отвечал: дети, которых Бог даровал рабу твоему.

6 И подошли служанки, сами и дети их, и поклонились.

7 Потом подошла Лия и дети ее, и поклонились. Наконец подошли Иосиф и Рахиль, и поклонились.

8 Еще спросил: что значит у тебя все это ополчение, с которым я встретился? он отвечал: дабы обрести благодать в очах господина моего.

9 Исав сказал: у меня много, братец; пусть твое - у тебя.

10 Но Иаков сказал: нет, сделай милость; если я обрел благоволение в очах твоих, прими дар мой от руки моей; ибо я увидел лице твое, как бы кто увидел лице Божие, и ты принял меня милостиво.

11 Прими благословение мое, которое представлено тебе; потому что Бог даровал мне, и есть у меня все. И принудил его, и он взял.

12 Исав сказал: поднимемся и пойдем; и я пойду перед тобою.

13 Он отвечал ему: господин мой знает, что дети мои молоды, а мелкий и крупный скот дойный; если погнать его один день, то помрет весь скот.

14 Пусть господин мой пойдет впереди раба своего, а я пойду тихим шагом своим, как пойдет скот, который передо мною, и как пойдут дети; и приду к господину моему в Сеир.

15 Исав сказал: так я оставлю с тобою несколько из людей, которые при мне. Он отвечал: на что это? Только бы мне обрести благоволение в очах господина моего!

16 И возвратился Исав в тот же день путем своим в Сеир.

17 А Иаков пошел в Сокхоф, и построил себе дом, и для скота своего сделал дворы. От сего дано имя месту: Сокхоф.

18 Иаков, пришедши из Месопотамии, в мире пришел в город Сихем, который в земле Ханаанской, и расположился против города.

19 И купил часть поля, на котором он раскинул шатер свой, у сынов Эммора, отца Сихемова, за сто монет.

20 И поставил там жертвенник; и назвал его: Бог крепкий, Бог Израилев.

7 Потом подошла Лия и дети ее, и поклонились. Наконец подошли Иосиф и Рахиль, и поклонились.

8 And he said,559 What4310 mean you by all3605 this2088 drove4264 which834 I met?6298 And he said,559 These are to find4672 grace2580 in the sight5869 of my lord.113

8 Еще спросил: что значит у тебя все это ополчение, с которым я встретился? он отвечал: дабы обрести благодать в очах господина моего.

11 Прими благословение мое, которое представлено тебе; потому что Бог даровал мне, и есть у меня все. И принудил его, и он взял.

12 Исав сказал: поднимемся и пойдем; и я пойду перед тобою.

15 Исав сказал: так я оставлю с тобою несколько из людей, которые при мне. Он отвечал: на что это? Только бы мне обрести благоволение в очах господина моего!

16 So Esau6215 returned7725 that day3117 on his way1870 to Seir.8165

16 И возвратился Исав в тот же день путем своим в Сеир.

17 And Jacob3290 journeyed5265 to Succoth,5523 and built1129 him an house,1004 and made6213 booths5521 for his cattle:4735 therefore5921 3651 the name8034 of the place4725 is called7121 Succoth.5523

17 А Иаков пошел в Сокхоф, и построил себе дом, и для скота своего сделал дворы. От сего дано имя месту: Сокхоф.
