1 And Abraham85 was old,2204 and well stricken935 in age:3117 and the LORD3068 had blessed1288 Abraham85 in all3605 things.

2 And Abraham85 said559 to his oldest2205 servant5650 of his house,1004 that ruled4910 over all3605 that he had, Put,7760 I pray4994 you, your hand3027 under8478 my thigh:3409

3 And I will make you swear7650 by the LORD,3068 the God430 of heaven,8064 and the God430 of the earth,776 that you shall not take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 of the daughters1323 of the Canaanites,3669 among7130 whom834 I dwell:3427

4 But you shall go3212 to my country,776 and to my kindred,4138 and take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 Isaac.3327

5 And the servant5650 said559 to him, Peradventure194 the woman802 will not be willing14 to follow3212 310 me to this2063 land:776 must I needs7725 bring7725 your son1121 again7725 to the land776 from from where834 8033 you came?3318

6 And Abraham85 said559 to him, Beware8104 you that you bring7725 not my son1121 thither8033 again.7725

7 The LORD3068 God430 of heaven,8064 which834 took3947 me from my father's1 house,1004 and from the land776 of my kindred,4138 and which834 spoke1696 to me, and that swore7650 to me, saying,559 To your seed2233 will I give5414 this2063 land;776 he shall send7971 his angel4397 before6440 you, and you shall take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 from there.8033

8 And if the woman802 will not be willing14 to follow3212 310 you, then you shall be clear5352 from this my oath:7621 only7535 bring7725 not my son1121 thither again.7725

9 And the servant5650 put7760 his hand3027 under8478 the thigh3409 of Abraham85 his master,113 and swore7650 to him concerning5921 that matter.1697

10 And the servant5650 took3947 ten6235 camels1581 of the camels1581 of his master,113 and departed;3212 for all3605 the goods2898 of his master113 were in his hand:3027 and he arose,6965 and went3212 to Mesopotamia,763 to the city5892 of Nahor.5152

11 And he made his camels1581 to kneel1288 down1288 without2351 the city5892 by a well875 of water4325 at the time6256 of the evening,6153 even the time6256 that women go3318 out to draw7579 water.

12 And he said 559O LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 I pray4994 you, send7136 me good speed7136 this day,3117 and show6213 kindness2617 to my master113 Abraham.85

13 Behold,2009 I stand5324 here by the well5869 of water;4325 and the daughters1323 of the men582 of the city5892 come3318 out to draw7579 water:4325

14 And let it come1961 to pass, that the damsel5291 to whom834 I shall say,559 Let5186 down5186 your pitcher,3537 I pray4994 you, that I may drink;8354 and she shall say,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 let the same be she that you have appointed3198 for your servant5650 Isaac;3327 and thereby shall I know3045 that you have showed6213 kindness2617 to my master.113

15 And it came1961 to pass, before2962 he had done3615 speaking,1696 that, behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 out, who834 was born3205 to Bethuel,1328 son1121 of Milcah,4435 the wife802 of Nahor,5152 Abraham's85 brother,251 with her pitcher3537 on her shoulder.7926

16 And the damsel5291 was very3966 fair2896 to look4758 on, a virgin,1330 neither3808 had any man376 known3045 her: and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and filled4390 her pitcher,3537 and came5927 up.

17 And the servant5650 ran7323 to meet7125 her, and said,559 Let me, I pray4994 you, drink1572 a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher.3537

18 And she said,559 Drink,8354 my lord:113 and she hurried,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 on her hand,3027 and gave him drink.8248

19 And when she had done3615 giving him drink,8248 she said,559 I will draw7579 water for your camels1581 also,1571 until5704 515 they have done3615 drinking.8354

20 And she hurried,4116 and emptied6168 her pitcher3537 into413 the trough,8268 and ran7323 again5750 to the well875 to draw7579 water, and drew7579 for all3605 his camels.1581

21 And the man376 wondering7583 at her held2790 his peace,2790 to wit3045 whether the LORD3068 had made6743 his journey1870 prosperous6743 or not.

22 And it came1961 to pass, as the camels1581 had done3615 drinking,8354 that the man376 took3947 a golden2091 earring5141 of half1235 a shekel1235 weight,4948 and two8147 bracelets6781 for her hands3027 of ten6235 shekels weight4948 of gold;2091

23 And said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? tell5046 me, I pray4994 you: is there room4725 in your father's1 house1004 for us to lodge3885 in?

24 And she said559 to him, I am the daughter1323 of Bethuel1328 the son1121 of Milcah,4435 which834 she bore3205 to Nahor.5152

25 She said559 moreover to him, We have both1571 straw8401 and provender4554 enough,7227 and room4725 to lodge3885 in.

26 And the man376 bowed6915 down6915 his head, and worshipped7812 the LORD.3068

27 And he said,559 Blessed1288 be the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 who834 has not left5800 destitute5800 my master113 of his mercy2617 and his truth:571 I being in the way,1870 the LORD3068 led5148 me to the house1004 of my master's113 brothers.251

28 And the damsel5291 ran,7323 and told5046 them of her mother's517 house1004 these428 things.1697

29 And Rebekah7259 had a brother,251 and his name8034 was Laban:3837 and Laban3837 ran7323 out to the man,376 to the well.5869

30 And it came1961 to pass, when he saw7200 the earring5141 and bracelets6781 on his sister's269 hands,3027 and when he heard8085 the words1697 of Rebekah7259 his sister,269 saying,559 Thus3541 spoke1696 the man376 to me; that he came935 to the man;376 and, behold,2009 he stood5975 by the camels1581 at5921 the well.5869

31 And he said,559 Come935 in, you blessed1288 of the LORD;3068 why4100 stand5975 you without?2351 for I have prepared6437 the house,1004 and room4725 for the camels.1581

35 And the LORD3068 has blessed1288 my master113 greatly;3966 and he is become1431 great:1431 and he has given5414 him flocks,6629 and herds,1241 and silver,3701 and gold,2091 and menservants,5650 and maidservants,8198 and camels,1581 and asses.2543

36 And Sarah8283 my master's113 wife802 bore3205 a son1121 to my master113 when310 she was old:2209 and to him has he given5414 all3605 that he has.

37 And my master113 made me swear,7650 saying,559 You shall not take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 of the daughters1323 of the Canaanites,3669 in whose834 land776 I dwell:3427

38 But you shall go3212 to my father's1 house,1004 and to my kindred,4940 and take3947 a wife802 to my son.1121

39 And I said559 to my master,113 Peradventure194 the woman802 will not follow3212 310 me.

40 And he said559 to me, The LORD,3068 before6440 whom834 I walk,1980 will send7971 his angel4397 with you, and prosper6743 your way;1870 and you shall take3947 a wife802 for my son1121 of my kindred,4940 and of my father's1 house:1004

41 Then227 shall you be clear5352 from this my oath,423 when you come935 to my kindred;4940 and if518 they give5414 not you one, you shall be clear5355 from my oath.423

42 And I came935 this day3117 to the well,5869 and said,559 O LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 if518 now4994 you do prosper6743 my way1870 which I go:1980

43 Behold,2009 I stand5324 by the well5869 of water;4325 and it shall come1961 to pass, that when the virgin5959 comes3318 forth3318 to draw7579 water, and I say559 to her, Give me, I pray4994 you, a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher3537 to drink;8248

44 And she say559 to me, Both drink8354 you, and I will also1571 draw7579 for your camels:1581 let the same be the woman802 whom834 the LORD3068 has appointed3198 out for my master's113 son.1121

45 And before2962 I had done3615 speaking1696 in my heart,3820 behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 forth3318 with her pitcher3537 on5921 her shoulder;7926 and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and drew7579 water: and I said559 to her, Let me drink,8248 I pray4994 you.

46 And she made haste,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 from her shoulder, and said,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 so I drank,8354 and she made the camels1581 drink8354 also.1571

47 And I asked7592 her, and said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? And she said,559 the daughter1323 of Bethuel,1328 Nahor's5152 son,1121 whom834 Milcah4435 bore3205 to him: and I put7760 the earring5141 on her face,639 and the bracelets6781 on her hands.3027

48 And I bowed6915 down6915 my head, and worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 and blessed1288 the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 which834 had led5148 me in the right571 way1870 to take3947 my master's113 brother's251 daughter1323 to his son.1121

49 And now6258 if518 you will deal6213 kindly2617 and truly571 with my master,113 tell5046 me: and if518 not, tell5046 me; that I may turn6437 to the right3225 hand,3225 or176 to the left.8040

50 Then Laban3837 and Bethuel1328 answered6030 and said,559 The thing1697 proceeds3318 from the LORD:3068 we cannot3808 3201 speak1696 to you bad7451 or176 good.2896

51 Behold,2009 Rebekah7259 is before6440 you, take3947 her, and go,3212 and let her be your master's113 son's1121 wife,802 as the LORD3068 has spoken.1696

52 And it came1961 to pass, that, when Abraham's85 servant5650 heard8085 their words,1697 he worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 bowing himself to the earth.776

53 And the servant5650 brought3318 forth3318 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold,2091 and raiment,899 and gave5414 them to Rebekah:7259 he gave5414 also to her brother251 and to her mother517 precious4030 things.1697

54 And they did eat398 and drink,8354 he and the men582 that were with him, and tarried3885 all3885 night; and they rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and he said,559 Send7971 me away to my master.113

55 And her brother251 and her mother517 said,559 Let the damsel5291 abide3427 with us a few days,3117 at176 the least176 ten;6218 after310 that she shall go.3212

56 And he said559 to them, Hinder309 me not, seeing the LORD3068 has prospered6743 my way;1870 send7971 me away that I may go3212 to my master.113

57 And they said,559 We will call7121 the damsel,5291 and inquire7592 at her mouth.6310

58 And they called7121 Rebekah,7259 and said559 to her, Will you go3212 with this2088 man?376 And she said,559 I will go.3212

59 And they sent7971 away Rebekah7259 their sister,269 and her nurse,3243 and Abraham's85 servant,5650 and his men.582

60 And they blessed1288 Rebekah,7259 and said559 to her, You are our sister,269 be you the mother of thousands505 of millions,7233 and let your seed2233 possess3423 the gate8179 of those which hate8130 them.

61 And Rebekah7259 arose,6965 and her damsels,5291 and they rode7392 on the camels,1581 and followed3212 310 the man:376 and the servant5650 took3947 Rebekah,7259 and went3212 his way.3212

62 And Isaac3327 came935 from the way935 of the well875 Lahairoi;883 for he dwelled3427 in the south5045 country.776

63 And Isaac3327 went3318 out to meditate in the field7704 at the eventide:6256 6153 and he lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and saw,7200 and, behold,2009 the camels1581 were coming.935

64 And Rebekah7259 lifted5375 up her eyes,5869 and when she saw7200 Isaac,3327 she lighted5307 off5921 the camel.1581

65 For she had said559 to the servant,5650 What4310 man376 is this1976 that walks1980 in the field7704 to meet7125 us? And the servant5650 had said,559 It is my master:113 therefore she took3947 a veil,6809 and covered3680 herself.

66 And the servant5650 told5608 Isaac3327 all3605 things1697 that he had done.6213

67 And Isaac3327 brought935 her into his mother517 Sarah's8283 tent,168 and took3947 Rebekah,7259 and she became1961 his wife;802 and he loved157 her: and Isaac3327 was comforted5162 after310 his mother's517 death.

5 Раб сказал ему: может быть, не захочет женщина идти со мною в эту землю; должен ли я возвратить сына твоего в землю, из которой ты вышел?

6 Авраам сказал ему: берегись, не возвращай сына моего туда.

7 Иегова, Бог небес, Который взял меня из дома отца моего, и из земли рождения моего, Который обещал мне, и Который клялся мне, говоря: потомству твоему дам сию землю. Он пошлет Ангела Своего пред лицем твоим, и ты возьмешь жену сыну моему оттуда.

8 Если не захочет женщина идти с тобою, ты будешь свободен от клятвы моей сей; только сына моего не возвращай туда.

9 Тогда раб положил руку свою под стегно Авраама, господина своего, и клялся ему в сем.

10 Потом раб взял из верблюдов господина своего десять верблюдов и пошел; в руках у него были также всякие сокровища господина его; он встал и пошел в Месопотамию, в город Нахоров.

11 И остановил верблюдов вне города, у источника вод, под вечер, в такое время, когда выходят женщины черпать воду.

12 И сказал: Иегова, Боже господина моего Авраама! Пошли ее сегодня навстречу мне, и сотвори милость с господином моим Авраамом.

13 Вот, я стою у источника вод, и дочери жителей города выходят черпать воду:

14 Итак сделай, чтобы девица, которой я скажу: наклони ведро свое, я напьюсь; и которая скажет: пей, я напою и верблюдов твоих, была та, которую Ты указуешь рабу Твоему Исааку; посему узнаю я, что Ты творишь милость с господином моим,

15 Еще не окончил он слов сих, как вышла Ревекка, которая родилась от Вафуила, сына Милки, жены Нахора, брата Авраамова. На плече ее было ведро.

16 Она была девица прекрасная видом, дева, которой не познал муж. Она сошла к источнику, наполнила ведро свое и пошла вверх.

17 Тогда раб побежал навстречу ей, и сказал: дай мне испить немного воды из ведра твоего.

18 Она сказала: пей, господин мой; и тотчас опустила ведро свое на руку свою и напоила его.

19 И когда напоила его, то сказала: я стану черпать и верблюдам твоим, пока напьются.

20 И тотчас вылила ведро свое в пойло, и побежала опять к колодезю почерпнуть, и начерпала всем верблюдам его.

21 Он смотрел на нее с изумлением, в молчании, желая уразуметь, благословил ли Иегова путь его или нет.

22 Когда же верблюды перестали пить, тогда он взял золотое кольцо, весом в полсикля, и два запястья на руки ей, весом в десять сиклей золота;

23 И сказал: чья ты дочь? скажи мне; есть ли в доме отца твоего место нам ночевать?

24 Она отвечала ему: я дочь Вафуила, сына Милки, которого она родила Нахору.

25 Притом сказала ему: у нас много и соломы, и корму; и есть место для ночлега.

26 Тогда он, падши, поклонился Иегове,

27 И сказал: благословен Иегова, Бог господина моего Авраама, Который не оставил господина моего милостью Своею и истиною Своею! Иегова прямым путем привел меня в дом родственников господина моего.

28 Девица же побежала, и рассказала о сем приключении в доме матери своей.

29 У Ревекки был брат, именем Лаван. Лаван побежал к оному человеку за город, к источнику.

30 Как скоро он увидел кольцо и запястья на руках у сестры своей, и услышал слова Ревекки, сестры своей, которая говорила: вот, что сказал мне этот человек; то пришел к сему человеку, и нашел его стоящим с верблюдами у источника,

31 И сказал: войди, благословенный Иеговою; что тебе стоять на поле? Я приготовил дом, и место верблюдам.

32 Он вошел в дом, и Лаван расседлал верблюдов, и дал соломы и корму верблюдам, и воды умыть ноги ему и людям, которые были с ним.

33 Потом предложена ему пища; но он сказал: не стану есть, пока не скажу, что я сказать должен. Лаван сказал: говори.

34 Он сказал: я раб Авраамов.

35 Иегова весьма благословил господина моего, так что он сделался великим: ибо Он дал ему овец и волов, серебра и золота, рабов и рабынь, верблюдов и ослов.

36 Сарра, жена господина моего, уже состаревшись, родила господину моему сына, которому он и отдал все, что у него было.

37 И взял с меня клятву господин мой, сказав: не бери жены сыну моему из дочерей Хананеев, в земле которых я живу;

38 А пойди в дом отца моего, и к племени моему, взять жену сыну моему.

39 Когда же я сказал господину моему: может быть, не пойдет женщина со мною;

40 То он сказал мне: Иегова, пред лицем Которого я хожу, пошлет с тобою Ангела Своего и благословит путь твой, и ты возьмешь жену сыну моему из племени моего, и из дома отца моего.

41 Тогда будешь ты свободен от клятвы моей, когда сходишь к родственникам моим; если они не дадут тебе, то будешь свободен от клятвы моей.

42 Итак я ныне пришел к источнику, и сказал: Иегова, Боже господина моего Авраама! Если есть благословение Твое над путем моим, который я совершаю,

43 То, вот, я стою у источника вод; сделай же, чтобы девица, которая выйдет почерпнуть воды, и которой я скажу: дай мне испить немного воды из ведра твоего,

44 И которая скажет мне: и ты пей, и верблюдам твоим я начерпаю, была та жена, которую Иегова указует сыну господина моего.

45 Еще не окончил я слов сих в сердце моем, как вышла Ревекка, с ведром на плече, и сошла к источнику и почерпнула; тогда я сказал ей: напой меня.

46 Она тотчас опустила с себя ведро свое, и сказала: пей; я напою и верблюдов твоих. И так я пил, и верблюдов она напоила.

47 И когда я спросил ее, и сказал: чья ты дочь? она сказала: дочь Вафуила, сына Нахорова, которого родила ему Милка. Тогда я вдел кольцо в ноздри ее, и запястья надел на руки ее.

48 И, падши, поклонился Иегове, и благословил Иегову, Бога господина моего Авраама, Который прямым путем привел меня, чтобы дочь брата господина моего взять за сына его.

49 Итак, теперь, если вы намерены сотворить милость и истину с господином моим, скажите мне; и если нет, скажите мне, чтобы мне обратиться или направо, или налево.

50 Лаван и Вафуил сказали в ответ: от Иеговы происходит дело сие; мы не можем сказать тебе вопреки ни худого, ни доброго.

51 Вот Ревекка пред тобою; возьми и поди; да будет она женою сыну господина твоего, как сказал Иегова.

52 Когда раб Авраамов услышал слова их, то поклонился Иегове до земли.

53 И вынул раб серебряные вещи, и золотые вещи, и одежды, и дал Ревекке; также и брату ее, и матери ее дал богатые дары.

54 Посем он, и люди, бывшие с ним, ели и пили, и ночевали. И когда встали поутру, то он сказал: отпустите меня к господину моему.

55 Но брат ее и ее мать сказали: пусть побудет с нами девица дней хотя десять; потом пойдешь.

56 Он сказал им: не удерживайте меня, ибо Иегова благословил путь мой; отпустите меня, и я пойду к господину моему.

57 Они сказали: призовем девицу, и спросим, что она скажет.

58 И призвали Ревекку, и сказали ей: пойдешь ли с сим человеком? Она отвечала: пойду.

59 И так отпустили Ревекку, сестру свою, и кормилицу ее, и раба Авраамова, и людей его.

60 И благословили Ревекку, и сказали ей: сестра наша! да родятся от тебя тысячи тысяч, и да владеет потомство твое жилищами врагов своих!

61 И встала Ревекка, и рабыня ее, и сели на верблюдов, и поехали за тем человеком. Таким образом раб взял Ревекку, и пошел.

62 Между тем, Исаак шел из Беер-лахай-рои; ибо жил он в земле полуденной.

63 При наступлении вечера Исаак вышел в поле для размышления; и возвел очи свои, и видит: вот, идут верблюды.

64 Ревекка возвела очи свои, и увидя Исаака, соскочила с верблюда,

65 И сказала рабу: кто этот человек, идущий по полю навстречу нам? раб отвечал: это господин мой. Тогда она взяла покрывало, и покрылась.

66 Раб же рассказал Исааку все, что сделал.

67 И ввел ее Исаак в шатер Сарры, матери своей; и взял Ревекку, и она сделалась ему женою, и он возлюбил ее; и утешился Исаак в печали по матери своей.

8 Если не захочет женщина идти с тобою, ты будешь свободен от клятвы моей сей; только сына моего не возвращай туда.

9 Тогда раб положил руку свою под стегно Авраама, господина своего, и клялся ему в сем.

10 And the servant5650 took3947 ten6235 camels1581 of the camels1581 of his master,113 and departed;3212 for all3605 the goods2898 of his master113 were in his hand:3027 and he arose,6965 and went3212 to Mesopotamia,763 to the city5892 of Nahor.5152

10 Потом раб взял из верблюдов господина своего десять верблюдов и пошел; в руках у него были также всякие сокровища господина его; он встал и пошел в Месопотамию, в город Нахоров.

11 And he made his camels1581 to kneel1288 down1288 without2351 the city5892 by a well875 of water4325 at the time6256 of the evening,6153 even the time6256 that women go3318 out to draw7579 water.

11 И остановил верблюдов вне города, у источника вод, под вечер, в такое время, когда выходят женщины черпать воду.

12 And he said 559O LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 I pray4994 you, send7136 me good speed7136 this day,3117 and show6213 kindness2617 to my master113 Abraham.85

12 И сказал: Иегова, Боже господина моего Авраама! Пошли ее сегодня навстречу мне, и сотвори милость с господином моим Авраамом.

13 Behold,2009 I stand5324 here by the well5869 of water;4325 and the daughters1323 of the men582 of the city5892 come3318 out to draw7579 water:4325

13 Вот, я стою у источника вод, и дочери жителей города выходят черпать воду:

14 And let it come1961 to pass, that the damsel5291 to whom834 I shall say,559 Let5186 down5186 your pitcher,3537 I pray4994 you, that I may drink;8354 and she shall say,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 let the same be she that you have appointed3198 for your servant5650 Isaac;3327 and thereby shall I know3045 that you have showed6213 kindness2617 to my master.113

14 Итак сделай, чтобы девица, которой я скажу: наклони ведро свое, я напьюсь; и которая скажет: пей, я напою и верблюдов твоих, была та, которую Ты указуешь рабу Твоему Исааку; посему узнаю я, что Ты творишь милость с господином моим,

15 And it came1961 to pass, before2962 he had done3615 speaking,1696 that, behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 out, who834 was born3205 to Bethuel,1328 son1121 of Milcah,4435 the wife802 of Nahor,5152 Abraham's85 brother,251 with her pitcher3537 on her shoulder.7926

15 Еще не окончил он слов сих, как вышла Ревекка, которая родилась от Вафуила, сына Милки, жены Нахора, брата Авраамова. На плече ее было ведро.

16 And the damsel5291 was very3966 fair2896 to look4758 on, a virgin,1330 neither3808 had any man376 known3045 her: and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and filled4390 her pitcher,3537 and came5927 up.

16 Она была девица прекрасная видом, дева, которой не познал муж. Она сошла к источнику, наполнила ведро свое и пошла вверх.

17 And the servant5650 ran7323 to meet7125 her, and said,559 Let me, I pray4994 you, drink1572 a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher.3537

17 Тогда раб побежал навстречу ей, и сказал: дай мне испить немного воды из ведра твоего.

18 And she said,559 Drink,8354 my lord:113 and she hurried,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 on her hand,3027 and gave him drink.8248

18 Она сказала: пей, господин мой; и тотчас опустила ведро свое на руку свою и напоила его.

19 And when she had done3615 giving him drink,8248 she said,559 I will draw7579 water for your camels1581 also,1571 until5704 515 they have done3615 drinking.8354

19 И когда напоила его, то сказала: я стану черпать и верблюдам твоим, пока напьются.

20 And she hurried,4116 and emptied6168 her pitcher3537 into413 the trough,8268 and ran7323 again5750 to the well875 to draw7579 water, and drew7579 for all3605 his camels.1581

20 И тотчас вылила ведро свое в пойло, и побежала опять к колодезю почерпнуть, и начерпала всем верблюдам его.

21 And the man376 wondering7583 at her held2790 his peace,2790 to wit3045 whether the LORD3068 had made6743 his journey1870 prosperous6743 or not.

21 Он смотрел на нее с изумлением, в молчании, желая уразуметь, благословил ли Иегова путь его или нет.

22 And it came1961 to pass, as the camels1581 had done3615 drinking,8354 that the man376 took3947 a golden2091 earring5141 of half1235 a shekel1235 weight,4948 and two8147 bracelets6781 for her hands3027 of ten6235 shekels weight4948 of gold;2091

22 Когда же верблюды перестали пить, тогда он взял золотое кольцо, весом в полсикля, и два запястья на руки ей, весом в десять сиклей золота;

23 And said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? tell5046 me, I pray4994 you: is there room4725 in your father's1 house1004 for us to lodge3885 in?

23 И сказал: чья ты дочь? скажи мне; есть ли в доме отца твоего место нам ночевать?

24 And she said559 to him, I am the daughter1323 of Bethuel1328 the son1121 of Milcah,4435 which834 she bore3205 to Nahor.5152

24 Она отвечала ему: я дочь Вафуила, сына Милки, которого она родила Нахору.

25 She said559 moreover to him, We have both1571 straw8401 and provender4554 enough,7227 and room4725 to lodge3885 in.

25 Притом сказала ему: у нас много и соломы, и корму; и есть место для ночлега.

26 And the man376 bowed6915 down6915 his head, and worshipped7812 the LORD.3068

26 Тогда он, падши, поклонился Иегове,

27 And he said,559 Blessed1288 be the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 who834 has not left5800 destitute5800 my master113 of his mercy2617 and his truth:571 I being in the way,1870 the LORD3068 led5148 me to the house1004 of my master's113 brothers.251

27 И сказал: благословен Иегова, Бог господина моего Авраама, Который не оставил господина моего милостью Своею и истиною Своею! Иегова прямым путем привел меня в дом родственников господина моего.

28 And the damsel5291 ran,7323 and told5046 them of her mother's517 house1004 these428 things.1697

28 Девица же побежала, и рассказала о сем приключении в доме матери своей.

29 And Rebekah7259 had a brother,251 and his name8034 was Laban:3837 and Laban3837 ran7323 out to the man,376 to the well.5869

29 У Ревекки был брат, именем Лаван. Лаван побежал к оному человеку за город, к источнику.

30 And it came1961 to pass, when he saw7200 the earring5141 and bracelets6781 on his sister's269 hands,3027 and when he heard8085 the words1697 of Rebekah7259 his sister,269 saying,559 Thus3541 spoke1696 the man376 to me; that he came935 to the man;376 and, behold,2009 he stood5975 by the camels1581 at5921 the well.5869

30 Как скоро он увидел кольцо и запястья на руках у сестры своей, и услышал слова Ревекки, сестры своей, которая говорила: вот, что сказал мне этот человек; то пришел к сему человеку, и нашел его стоящим с верблюдами у источника,

31 And he said,559 Come935 in, you blessed1288 of the LORD;3068 why4100 stand5975 you without?2351 for I have prepared6437 the house,1004 and room4725 for the camels.1581

31 И сказал: войди, благословенный Иеговою; что тебе стоять на поле? Я приготовил дом, и место верблюдам.

32 And the man376 came935 into the house:1004 and he ungirded6605 his camels,1581 and gave5414 straw8401 and provender4554 for the camels,1581 and water4325 to wash7364 his feet,7272 and the men's582 feet7272 that were with him.

32 Он вошел в дом, и Лаван расседлал верблюдов, и дал соломы и корму верблюдам, и воды умыть ноги ему и людям, которые были с ним.

33 And there was set7760 meat before6440 him to eat:398 but he said,559 I will not eat,398 until5704 515 I have told1696 my errand.1697 And he said,559 Speak1696 on.

33 Потом предложена ему пища; но он сказал: не стану есть, пока не скажу, что я сказать должен. Лаван сказал: говори.

34 And he said,559 I am Abraham's85 servant.5650

34 Он сказал: я раб Авраамов.

35 And the LORD3068 has blessed1288 my master113 greatly;3966 and he is become1431 great:1431 and he has given5414 him flocks,6629 and herds,1241 and silver,3701 and gold,2091 and menservants,5650 and maidservants,8198 and camels,1581 and asses.2543

35 Иегова весьма благословил господина моего, так что он сделался великим: ибо Он дал ему овец и волов, серебра и золота, рабов и рабынь, верблюдов и ослов.

36 And Sarah8283 my master's113 wife802 bore3205 a son1121 to my master113 when310 she was old:2209 and to him has he given5414 all3605 that he has.

36 Сарра, жена господина моего, уже состаревшись, родила господину моему сына, которому он и отдал все, что у него было.

37 And my master113 made me swear,7650 saying,559 You shall not take3947 a wife802 to my son1121 of the daughters1323 of the Canaanites,3669 in whose834 land776 I dwell:3427

37 И взял с меня клятву господин мой, сказав: не бери жены сыну моему из дочерей Хананеев, в земле которых я живу;

38 But you shall go3212 to my father's1 house,1004 and to my kindred,4940 and take3947 a wife802 to my son.1121

38 А пойди в дом отца моего, и к племени моему, взять жену сыну моему.

39 And I said559 to my master,113 Peradventure194 the woman802 will not follow3212 310 me.

39 Когда же я сказал господину моему: может быть, не пойдет женщина со мною;

40 And he said559 to me, The LORD,3068 before6440 whom834 I walk,1980 will send7971 his angel4397 with you, and prosper6743 your way;1870 and you shall take3947 a wife802 for my son1121 of my kindred,4940 and of my father's1 house:1004

40 То он сказал мне: Иегова, пред лицем Которого я хожу, пошлет с тобою Ангела Своего и благословит путь твой, и ты возьмешь жену сыну моему из племени моего, и из дома отца моего.

41 Then227 shall you be clear5352 from this my oath,423 when you come935 to my kindred;4940 and if518 they give5414 not you one, you shall be clear5355 from my oath.423

41 Тогда будешь ты свободен от клятвы моей, когда сходишь к родственникам моим; если они не дадут тебе, то будешь свободен от клятвы моей.

42 And I came935 this day3117 to the well,5869 and said,559 O LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 if518 now4994 you do prosper6743 my way1870 which I go:1980

42 Итак я ныне пришел к источнику, и сказал: Иегова, Боже господина моего Авраама! Если есть благословение Твое над путем моим, который я совершаю,

43 Behold,2009 I stand5324 by the well5869 of water;4325 and it shall come1961 to pass, that when the virgin5959 comes3318 forth3318 to draw7579 water, and I say559 to her, Give me, I pray4994 you, a little4592 water4325 of your pitcher3537 to drink;8248

43 То, вот, я стою у источника вод; сделай же, чтобы девица, которая выйдет почерпнуть воды, и которой я скажу: дай мне испить немного воды из ведра твоего,

44 And she say559 to me, Both drink8354 you, and I will also1571 draw7579 for your camels:1581 let the same be the woman802 whom834 the LORD3068 has appointed3198 out for my master's113 son.1121

44 И которая скажет мне: и ты пей, и верблюдам твоим я начерпаю, была та жена, которую Иегова указует сыну господина моего.

45 And before2962 I had done3615 speaking1696 in my heart,3820 behold,2009 Rebekah7259 came3318 forth3318 with her pitcher3537 on5921 her shoulder;7926 and she went3381 down3381 to the well,5869 and drew7579 water: and I said559 to her, Let me drink,8248 I pray4994 you.

45 Еще не окончил я слов сих в сердце моем, как вышла Ревекка, с ведром на плече, и сошла к источнику и почерпнула; тогда я сказал ей: напой меня.

46 And she made haste,4116 and let3381 down3381 her pitcher3537 from her shoulder, and said,559 Drink,8354 and I will give your camels1581 drink8248 also:1571 so I drank,8354 and she made the camels1581 drink8354 also.1571

46 Она тотчас опустила с себя ведро свое, и сказала: пей; я напою и верблюдов твоих. И так я пил, и верблюдов она напоила.

47 And I asked7592 her, and said,559 Whose4310 daughter1323 are you? And she said,559 the daughter1323 of Bethuel,1328 Nahor's5152 son,1121 whom834 Milcah4435 bore3205 to him: and I put7760 the earring5141 on her face,639 and the bracelets6781 on her hands.3027

47 И когда я спросил ее, и сказал: чья ты дочь? она сказала: дочь Вафуила, сына Нахорова, которого родила ему Милка. Тогда я вдел кольцо в ноздри ее, и запястья надел на руки ее.

48 And I bowed6915 down6915 my head, and worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 and blessed1288 the LORD3068 God430 of my master113 Abraham,85 which834 had led5148 me in the right571 way1870 to take3947 my master's113 brother's251 daughter1323 to his son.1121

48 И, падши, поклонился Иегове, и благословил Иегову, Бога господина моего Авраама, Который прямым путем привел меня, чтобы дочь брата господина моего взять за сына его.

49 And now6258 if518 you will deal6213 kindly2617 and truly571 with my master,113 tell5046 me: and if518 not, tell5046 me; that I may turn6437 to the right3225 hand,3225 or176 to the left.8040

49 Итак, теперь, если вы намерены сотворить милость и истину с господином моим, скажите мне; и если нет, скажите мне, чтобы мне обратиться или направо, или налево.

50 Then Laban3837 and Bethuel1328 answered6030 and said,559 The thing1697 proceeds3318 from the LORD:3068 we cannot3808 3201 speak1696 to you bad7451 or176 good.2896

50 Лаван и Вафуил сказали в ответ: от Иеговы происходит дело сие; мы не можем сказать тебе вопреки ни худого, ни доброго.

51 Behold,2009 Rebekah7259 is before6440 you, take3947 her, and go,3212 and let her be your master's113 son's1121 wife,802 as the LORD3068 has spoken.1696

51 Вот Ревекка пред тобою; возьми и поди; да будет она женою сыну господина твоего, как сказал Иегова.

52 And it came1961 to pass, that, when Abraham's85 servant5650 heard8085 their words,1697 he worshipped7812 the LORD,3068 bowing himself to the earth.776

52 Когда раб Авраамов услышал слова их, то поклонился Иегове до земли.

53 And the servant5650 brought3318 forth3318 jewels3627 of silver,3701 and jewels3627 of gold,2091 and raiment,899 and gave5414 them to Rebekah:7259 he gave5414 also to her brother251 and to her mother517 precious4030 things.1697

53 И вынул раб серебряные вещи, и золотые вещи, и одежды, и дал Ревекке; также и брату ее, и матери ее дал богатые дары.

54 And they did eat398 and drink,8354 he and the men582 that were with him, and tarried3885 all3885 night; and they rose6965 up in the morning,1242 and he said,559 Send7971 me away to my master.113

54 Посем он, и люди, бывшие с ним, ели и пили, и ночевали. И когда встали поутру, то он сказал: отпустите меня к господину моему.

55 And her brother251 and her mother517 said,559 Let the damsel5291 abide3427 with us a few days,3117 at176 the least176 ten;6218 after310 that she shall go.3212

55 Но брат ее и ее мать сказали: пусть побудет с нами девица дней хотя десять; потом пойдешь.

56 And he said559 to them, Hinder309 me not, seeing the LORD3068 has prospered6743 my way;1870 send7971 me away that I may go3212 to my master.113

56 Он сказал им: не удерживайте меня, ибо Иегова благословил путь мой; отпустите меня, и я пойду к господину моему.

57 And they said,559 We will call7121 the damsel,5291 and inquire7592 at her mouth.6310

57 Они сказали: призовем девицу, и спросим, что она скажет.

58 And they called7121 Rebekah,7259 and said559 to her, Will you go3212 with this2088 man?376 And she said,559 I will go.3212

58 И призвали Ревекку, и сказали ей: пойдешь ли с сим человеком? Она отвечала: пойду.

59 And they sent7971 away Rebekah7259 their sister,269 and her nurse,3243 and Abraham's85 servant,5650 and his men.582

59 И так отпустили Ревекку, сестру свою, и кормилицу ее, и раба Авраамова, и людей его.

60 And they blessed1288 Rebekah,7259 and said559 to her, You are our sister,269 be you the mother of thousands505 of millions,7233 and let your seed2233 possess3423 the gate8179 of those which hate8130 them.

60 И благословили Ревекку, и сказали ей: сестра наша! да родятся от тебя тысячи тысяч, и да владеет потомство твое жилищами врагов своих!

61 And Rebekah7259 arose,6965 and her damsels,5291 and they rode7392 on the camels,1581 and followed3212 310 the man:376 and the servant5650 took3947 Rebekah,7259 and went3212 his way.3212

61 И встала Ревекка, и рабыня ее, и сели на верблюдов, и поехали за тем человеком. Таким образом раб взял Ревекку, и пошел.

62 And Isaac3327 came935 from the way935 of the well875 Lahairoi;883 for he dwelled3427 in the south5045 country.776

62 Между тем, Исаак шел из Беер-лахай-рои; ибо жил он в земле полуденной.

63 And Isaac3327 went3318 out to meditate in the field7704 at the eventide:6256 6153 and he lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and saw,7200 and, behold,2009 the camels1581 were coming.935

63 При наступлении вечера Исаак вышел в поле для размышления; и возвел очи свои, и видит: вот, идут верблюды.

64 And Rebekah7259 lifted5375 up her eyes,5869 and when she saw7200 Isaac,3327 she lighted5307 off5921 the camel.1581

64 Ревекка возвела очи свои, и увидя Исаака, соскочила с верблюда,

65 For she had said559 to the servant,5650 What4310 man376 is this1976 that walks1980 in the field7704 to meet7125 us? And the servant5650 had said,559 It is my master:113 therefore she took3947 a veil,6809 and covered3680 herself.

65 И сказала рабу: кто этот человек, идущий по полю навстречу нам? раб отвечал: это господин мой. Тогда она взяла покрывало, и покрылась.

66 And the servant5650 told5608 Isaac3327 all3605 things1697 that he had done.6213

66 Раб же рассказал Исааку все, что сделал.

67 And Isaac3327 brought935 her into his mother517 Sarah's8283 tent,168 and took3947 Rebekah,7259 and she became1961 his wife;802 and he loved157 her: and Isaac3327 was comforted5162 after310 his mother's517 death.

67 И ввел ее Исаак в шатер Сарры, матери своей; и взял Ревекку, и она сделалась ему женою, и он возлюбил ее; и утешился Исаак в печали по матери своей.
