2 Und7760 stellete die Mägde8198 mit ihren Kindern3206 vorne an und Lea3812 mit ihren Kindern3206 hernach314 und Rahel7354 mit Joseph3130 zuletzt.

3 Und7651 erging vor ihnen her5066 und neigete sich7812 siebenmal auf6440 die Erde776, bis5674 er zu seinem Bruder251 kam.

4 Esau6215 aber lief7323 ihm entgegen7125 und herzete ihn und fiel5307 ihm um den Hals6677 und küssete ihn; und sie5401 weineten.

5 Und hub seine Augen5869 auf5375 und sah7200 die Weiber802 mit den Kindern3206 und sprach559: Wer sind diese428 bei dir? Er antwortete559: Es sind Kinder3206, die GOtt430 deinem Knechte5650 bescheret hat2603.

6 Und die Mägde8198 traten herzu5066 mit ihren Kindern3206 und neigeten sich7812 vor ihm.

7 Lea3812 trat5066 auch herzu5066 mit ihren Kindern3206 und310 neigeten sich7812 vor ihm. Danach trat5066 Joseph3130 und Rahel7354 herzu und neigeten sich7812 auch vor ihm.

8 Und er sprach559: Was willst du mit all dem Heer4264, dem ich begegnet6298 bin? Er antwortete559: Daß ich Gnade2580 fände4672 vor5869 meinem Herrn113.

9 Esau6215 sprach559: Ich habe genug7227, mein Bruder251; behalt, was du hast3426.

10 Jakob3290 antwortete559: Ach nicht! Habe ich Gnade2580 funden vor5869 dir, so nimm3947 mein Geschenk4503 von6440 meiner Hand3027; denn ich sah7200 dein Angesicht, als sähe7200 ich Gottes430 Angesicht; und laß4672 dir‘s wohlgefallen7521 von mir6440.

11 Nimm3947 doch den Segen1293 von mir an, den ich dir zugebracht habe935; denn GOtt430 hat2603 mir‘s bescheret, und ich habe3426 alles3605 genug. Also nötigte6484 er ihn, daß3605 er‘s nahm3947.

12 Und er sprach559: Laß uns fortziehen3212 und reisen5265; ich will mit dir ziehen3212.

13 Er aber sprach559 zu ihm: Mein Herr113, du erkennest3045, daß ich zarte7390 Kinder3206 bei mir habe, dazu Vieh1241 und6629 säugende5763 Kühe; wenn sie einen259 Tag3117 übertrieben würden1849, würde mir die ganze Herde6629 sterben4191.

14 Mein Herr113 ziehe vor6440 seinem Knechte5650 hin. Ich will935 mählich hinnach treiben5095, danach das Vieh4399 und7272 die Kinder3206 gehen5674 können, bis daß ich komme zu meinem Herrn113 in6440 Seir8165.

15 Esau6215 sprach559: So will ich doch bei dir lassen3322 etliche vom Volk5971, das mit mir ist. Er antwortete559: Was4100 ist‘s vonnöten? Laß4672 mich nur Gnade2580 vor5869 meinem Herrn113 finden.

16 Also zog des Tages3117 Esau6215 wiederum7725 seines Weges1870 gen Seir8165.

17 Und1129 Jakob3290 zog5265 gen Suchoth und bauete ihm ein Haus1004 und machte6213 seinem Vieh4735 Hütten5521; daher heißt8034 die Stätte4725 Suchoth.

18 Danach zog Jakob3290 gegen Salem8004, zu der Stadt5892 des Sichem7927, die im Lande776 Kanaan3667 liegt (nachdem er aus Mesopotamien6307 kommen935 war935), und machte sein Lager2583 vor6440 der Stadt5892.

19 Und kaufte7069 ein Stück2513 Ackers7704 von3027 den Kindern1121 Hemors2544, des Vaters1 Sichems7927, um hundert3967 Groschen7192; daselbst richtete5186 er seine Hütte168 auf.

20 Und richtete5324 daselbst einen Altar4196 zu und rief7121 an den Namen des starken Gottes415 Israel.

Chapter 33

1 AND Jacob raised his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau was coming, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children among Leah, Rachel, and the two maids.

2 Then he brought the maids and their children to the front, and Leah and her children next, and kept Rachel and Joseph in the rear.

3 And he himself went on before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

4 And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him; and they wept.

5 Then Esau raised his eyes and saw the women and the children, and said, Where did you get these? And Jacob said to him, They are the children whom God has graciously given your servant.

6 Then the maids drew near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.

7 And Leah also with her children drew near, and bowed themselves; and afterwards came Rachel and Joseph who also drew near, and bowed themselves.

8 And Esau said to Jacob, Where did you get all this company which I met? And Jacob said to him, Because I have found favor in the sight of my lord.

9 Then Esau said to him, I have plenty, my brother; keep what you have to yourself.

10 But Jacob said to him, If now I have found mercy in your sight, then receive my present from my hands; because now I have seen your face, as I saw the face of an angel, and you were pleased with me.

11 Now accept my blessings that I have brought to you; because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And Jacob urged him, and he did accept them.

12 Then Esau said to him, Let us depart, and go, and I will go before you.

13 But Jacob said. My lord knows that the children are too young, and that the flocks and herds with young are with me; and if I should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die.

14 Let my lord pass before his servant, and I will travel slowly, according to the pace of the cattle which are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord to Seir.

15 And Esau said to him, Let me leave with you some of the men that are with me. But Jacob said, What need have I for them? Let me find mercy in the sight of my lord.

16 So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir.

17 And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built himself a house, and made sheepfolds for his cattle; therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.

18 And Jacob came to Shalem, a city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came forth from Padan-aram; and encamped before the city.

19 And he bought a parcel of a field from the children of Hamor, father of Shechem, for a hundred ewes.

20 And he pitched his tent there, and erected an altar, and called it El-Alaha di Israel (God, the God of Israel).
