3 So nimm5375 nun deinen Zeug3627, Köcher8522 und3318 Bogen7198, und gehe aufs Feld7704 und fahe mir ein Wildbret6718

4 und mache mir ein Essen4303, wie834 ich‘s gerne157 habe6213, und bringe mir‘s herein935, daß ich esse398, daß dich1288 meine See LE5315 segne, ehe2962 ich sterbe4191.

5 Rebekka7259 aber hörete solche Worte, die Isaak3327 zu8085 seinem Sohne Esau6215 sagte1696. Und1121 Esau6215 ging935 hin3212 aufs Feld7704, daß er ein Wildbret6718 jagte6679 und heimbrächte.

6 Da sprach559 Rebekka7259 zu8085 Jakob3290, ihrem Sohn1121: Siehe, ich559 habe gehöret deinen Vater1 reden1696 mit Esau6215, deinem Bruder251, und sagen559:

7 Bringe935 mir6440 ein Wildbret6718 und mache6213 mir6440 ein Essen4303, daß ich esse398 und dich1288 segne vor dem HErrn3068, ehe ich sterbe4194.

10 Das sollst du deinem Vater1 hineintragen935, daß834 er esse398, auf6440 daß er dich1288 segne vor seinem Tode4194.

11 Jakob3290 aber sprach559 zu seiner Mutter517 Rebekka7259: Siehe, mein Bruder251 Esau6215 ist rauch und376 ich glatt2509;

12 so möchte vielleicht mein Vater1 mich begreifen, und würde vor5869 ihm geachtet, als ob ich ihn betrügen8591 wollte, und brächte935 über mich einen Fluch7045 und nicht einen Segen1293.

13 Da sprach559 seine Mutter517 zu8085 ihm: Der Fluch7045 sei auf3947 mir, mein Sohn1121; gehorche nur meiner Stimme6963, gehe3212 und hole mir.

14 Da ging935 er hin3212 und holete und brachte3947 seiner Mutter517. Da machte6213 seine Mutter517 ein Essen4303, wie sein Vater1 gerne hatte157,

18 Und er ging935 hinein zu seinem Vater1 und sprach559: Mein Vater1! Er antwortete559: Hie bin ich. Wer bist du, mein Sohn1121?

19 Jakob3290 sprach zu seinem Vater1: Ich bin Esau6215, dein erstgeborener Sohn1060; ich habe1696 getan6213, wie du1288 mir gesagt559 hast. Stehe auf6965, setze dich3427 und iß398 von meinem Wildbret6718, auf daß mich deine See LE5315 segne.

20 Isaak3327 aber sprach559 zu seinem Sohn1121: Mein Sohn1121, wie hast4672 du so bald4116 funden? Er antwortete559: Der HErr3068, dein GOtt430, bescherte7136 mir‘s6440.

21 Da2088 sprach559 Isaak3327 zu Jakob3290: Tritt herzu5066, mein Sohn1121, daß ich dich begreife, ob du seiest mein Sohn1121 Esau6215, oder nicht.

22 Also trat5066 Jakob3290 zu seinem Vater1 Isaak3327; und6215 da er ihn begriffen hatte, sprach559 er: Die Stimme6963 ist Jakobs3290 Stimme6963, aber die Hände3027 sind Esaus Hände3027.

23 Und6215 er kannte5234 ihn nicht, denn seine Hände3027 waren rauch, wie Esaus, seines Bruders251, Hände3027, und segnete1288 ihn.

24 Und er sprach559 zu ihm: Bist du mein Sohn1121 Esau6215? Er antwortete559: Ja, ich bin‘s.

25 Da sprach559 er: So bringe5066 mir her5066, mein Sohn1121, zu essen398 von deinem Wildbret6718, daß dich1288 meine See LE5315 segne. Da brachte935 er‘s ihm, und er aß398; und trug ihm auch Wein3196 hinein, und er trank8354.

26 Und Isaak3327, sein Vater1, sprach559 zu ihm: Komm her5066 und küsse5401 mich, mein Sohn1121!

27 Er trat5066 hinzu und küssete ihn. Da roch7306 er den Geruch7381 seiner Kleider899; und segnete1288 ihn und sprach559: Siehe7200, der Geruch7381 meines Sohnes1121 ist wie ein Geruch7381 des Feldes7704, das der HErr3068 gesegnet1288 hat5401.

28 GOtt430 gebe5414 dir vom Tau2919 des Himmels8064 und von der Fettigkeit4924 der Erde776 und Korn1715 und Weins die Fülle7230.

29 Völker5971 müssen5647 dir dienen, und Leute3816 müssen dir zu Fuße fallen7812. Sei1933 ein Herr1376 über deine Brüder251, und deiner Mutter517 Kinder1121 müssen dir zu Fuße fallen7812. Verflucht779 sei779, wer dir fluchet; gesegnet1288 sei1288, wer dich segnet!

30 Als nun Isaak3327 vollendet3615 hatte den6440 Segen1288 über Jakob3290, und Jakob3290 kaum389 hinausgegangen war von3318 seinem Vater1 Isaak3327, da kam935 Esau6215, sein Bruder251, von3318 seiner Jagd6718

31 und machte6213 auch ein Essen4303; und trug‘s hinein935 zu seinem Vater1 und sprach559 zu ihm: Stehe auf6965, mein Vater1, und iß398 von dem1 Wildbret6718 deines Sohnes1121, daß mich deine See LE5315 segne1288.

32 Da antwortete559 ihm Isaak3327, sein Vater1: Wer bist du? Er sprach559: Ich bin Esau6215, dein erstgeborner Sohn1121:

33 Da entsetzte sich2729 Isaak3327 über die Maße sehr1419 und sprach559: Wer? wo ist935 denn645 der Jäger6679, der mir gebracht935 hat, und ich habe von allem gegessen398, ehe du kamst, und habe ihn gesegnet1288? Er wird auch gesegnet1288 bleiben.

34 Als Esau6215 diese Rede1697 seines Vaters1 hörte, schrie6817 er laut und ward über die Maße sehr1419 betrübt4751; und sprach559 zu8085 seinem Vater1: Segne1288 mich auch, mein Vater1!

35 Er aber sprach559: Dein Bruder251 ist935 kommen mit List4820 und hat3947 deinen Segen1293 hinweg.

36 Da sprach559 er: Er heißt7121 wohl Jakob3290; denn3588 er hat3947 mich nun2088 zweimal6471 untertreten. Meine Erstgeburt1062 hat3947 er dahin, und siehe, nun nimmt er auch meinen Segen1293. Und sprach559: Hast du8034 mir denn keinen Segen1293 vorbehalten680?

37 Isaak3327 antwortete6030 und6215 sprach559 zu ihm: Ich habe5414 ihn zum Herrn1376 über dich gesetzt7760, und alle seine Brüder251 habe6213 ich ihm zu Knechten5650 gemacht, mit Korn1715 und Wein8492 habe ich ihn versehen5564: was soll ich doch dir nun645 tun, mein Sohn1121?

38 Esau6215 sprach559 zu seinem Vater1: Hast du1288 denn nur einen259 Segen1293, mein Vater1? Segne mich auch, mein Vater1! Und6215 hub auf5375 seine Stimme6963 und weinete.

39 Da antwortete6030 Isaak3327, sein Vater1, und sprach559 zu ihm: Siehe da, du wirst eine fette4924 Wohnung4186 haben auf Erden776 und vom Tau2919 des Himmels8064 von oben5920 her.

40 Deines Schwerts2719 wirst5647 du dich nähren2421 und deinem Bruder251 dienen. Und es wird geschehen, daß du auch ein Herr und sein7300 Joch5923 von deinem Halse6677 reißen wirst6561.

41 Und6215 Esau6215 war7852 Jakob3290 gram um5921 des Segens1293 willen, damit ihn sein Vater1 gesegnet1288 hatte, und sprach559 in seinem Herzen3820: Es wird die Zeit3117 bald kommen7126, daß834 mein Vater1 Leid tragen60 muß; denn ich will meinen Bruder251 Jakob3290 erwürgen2026.

42 Da wurden Rebekka7259 angesagt5046 diese Worte1697 ihres größern1419 Sohns Esau6215; und1121 schickte hin und559 ließ7971 Jakob3290, ihrem kleinern Sohn1121, rufen und sprach7121 zu ihm: Siehe, dein Bruder251 Esau6215 dräuet dir, daß er dich erwürgen2026 will.

43 Und nun höre meine Stimme6963, mein Sohn1121: Mach dich1272 auf6965 und fleuch zu8085 meinem Bruder251 Laban3837 in Haran2771,

44 und3117 bleib eine259 Weile bei ihm, bis834 sich3427 der Grimm2534 deines Bruders251 wende,

45 und bis sich sein251 Zorn639 wider dich von dir wende und vergesse7911, was4100 du an ihm getan6213 hast; so will7725 ich danach schicken7971 und dich von dannen holen lassen. Warum sollte ich euer beider8147 beraubet werden7921 auf3947 einen259 Tag3117?

46 Und Rebekka7259 sprach559 zu Isaak3327: Mich6440 verdreußt zu leben2416 vor den Töchtern1323 Heths. Wo Jakob3290 ein Weib802 nimmt von den Töchtern1323 Heths, die da sind wie die Töchter1323 dieses Landes776, was4100 soll3947 mir das Leben2416?

Chapter 27

1 AND it came to pass, when Isaac was old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said to him, My son; and he said to him, Behold, here I am.

2 And Isaac said to him, Behold now, I am old, and I do not know the day of my death;

3 Now therefore take your weapons, your sword and your bow, and go out into the field and hunt game;

4 And make me stewed meat, such as I like, and bring it to me, that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.

5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. So Esau went to the field to hunt game and to bring it.

6 Then Rebekah said to Jacob her son, Behold, I heard your father say to Esau your brother,

7 Bring me game, and make me stewed meat, that I may eat and bless you in the presence of the LORD before I die.

8 Now therefore, my son, listen to me according to that which I command you.

9 Go now to the flock, and bring me from there two kids of the goats; and I will make from them stew for your father, such as he likes;

10 And you shall bring it to your father, that he may eat, and that he may bless you in the presence of the LORD before his death.

11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man and I am a smooth man;

12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to him as a mocker; and I Shall bring a curse upon myself, and not a blessing.

13 And his mother said to him, Let your curses be upon me, my son; only listen to me, and go and fetch them to me.

14 So he went and picked them up, and brought them to his mother; and his mother made a stew, such as his father liked.

15 And Rebekah took the best clothes of her elder son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them upon Jacob her younger son;

16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats upon his hands, and upon the back of his neck;

17 And she gave the stew and the bread which she had prepared into the hand of her son Jacob.

18 And he brought them in to his father, and said, My father; and he said, Here am I. Then he said, Who are you, my son?

19 And Jacob said to his father, I am Esau, your first-born; I have done as you told me; now arise and sit up and eat of my game, that your soul may bless me.

20 And Isaac said to his son, How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD your God brought it my way.

21 Then Isaac said to Jacob his son, Come near me, that I may feel you, my son, to know whether you are my son Esau or not.

22 And Jacob drew near to Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are Esau's.

23 But he did not recognize him, because his hands were hairy, like his brother Esau's hands; so he blessed him.

24 And he said, Are you my very son Esau? And Jacob said, I am.

25 And he said, Bring the stew near to me, and I will eat of my son's game, that my soul may bless you. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat; and he brought him wine, and he drank.

26 And his father Isaac said to him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son; so he drew near and kissed him;

27 And he came near, and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his garments, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field which the LORD has blessed;

28 Therefore may God give you of the dew of heaven and the richness of the earth, and the abundance of wheat and wine;

29 Let people serve you, and nations bow down to you; be a prince over your brethren, and let your mother's sons bow down to you; cursed be they who curse you, and blessed be they who bless you.

30 And it came to pass when Isaac had finished blessing Jacob and Jacob had gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, behold, Esau his brother came in from his hunting.

31 And he also made stew, and brought it to his father, and said to his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's game, that your soul may bless me.

32 And Isaac his father said to him, Who are you? And he said, I am your son, your first-born, Esau.

33 And Isaac was greatly alarmed, and said, Who was it then that hunted game and brought it to me? I have eaten of everything before you came, and I have blessed him, yea, and he shall be blessed.

34 And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out bitterly, and said to his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.

35 But his father said, Your brother came with deceit, and has already received your blessing.

36 And Esau said, Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has acted treacherously toward me twice: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he has taken away my blessing. And Esau said to his father, Have you not reserved a blessing for me?

37 And Isaac answered and said to Esau, Behold, I have made him a prince over you, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with wheat and wine have I sustained him; and what shall I do now for you, my son?

38 And Esau said to his father, Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.

39 And Isaac his father answered and said to him, Behold, your dwelling shall be in the fertile places of the earth, and the dew of heaven shall fall upon you from above;

40 And by your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; but if you shall repent, his yoke shall pass away from off your neck.

41 And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessings with which his father had blessed him; and Esau said in his heart, After the days of mourning for my father are over, then I will slay my brother Jacob.

42 And the words of Esau her elder son were told to Rebekah; so she sent and called her younger son Jacob, and said to him, Behold, your brother Esau is threatening to kill you.

43 Now therefore, my son, hearken to me; and arise, and go to Laban my brother, to Haran;

44 And stay there a few days, until your brother's fury is spent;

45 Until your brother's anger turns away from you, and he forgets what you have done to him; then I will send messengers, and bring you back from there; lest I be deprived also of both of you in one day.

46 Then Rebekah said to Isaac, I am weary of my life because of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob takes a wife of the daughters of Heth, such as these which are of the daughters of the land, what good will my life be to me?

5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. So Esau went to the field to hunt game and to bring it.

6 Then Rebekah said to Jacob her son, Behold, I heard your father say to Esau your brother,
