14 Und Abraham85 hieß7121 die8034 Stätte4725: Der HErr3068 siehet. Daher man559 noch heutigestages3117 saget: Auf dem Berge2022, da834 der HErr siehet.

15 Und der8145 Engel4397 des HErrn3068 rief7121 Abraham85 abermal vom Himmel8064

16 und sprach559: Ich habe2820 bei mir selbst geschworen7650, spricht5002 der HErr3068, dieweil du solches1697 getan6213 hast und hast deines einigen Sohnes1121 nicht3808 verschonet,

17 daß ich deinen Samen2233 segnen1288 und mehren7235 will wie die Sterne3556 am Himmel8064 und wie den Sand2344 am Ufer8193 des Meeres3220; und dein Same2233 soll besitzen3423 die Tore8179 seiner Feinde341.

18 Und durch deinen Samen2233 sollen alle Völker1471 auf Erden776 gesegnet1288 werden, darum daß6118 du meiner Stimme6963 gehorchet hast8085.

19 Also kehrete Abraham85 wieder7725 zu seinen Knaben5288; und85 machten sich3427 auf6965 und zogen3212 miteinander3162 gen Bersaba und wohnete daselbst.

21 nämlich Uz5780, den Erstgeborenen1060, und Bus938, seinen Bruder251, und Kemuel7055, von dem die Syrer758 kommen1,

22 und Chesed3777 und Haso2375 und Pildas und Jedlaph3044 und Bethuel1328.

23 Bethuel1328 aber zeugete Rebekka7259. Diese acht8083 gebar3205 Milka4435 dem Nahor5152, Abrahams85 Bruder251.

24 Und sein Kebsweib6370, mit Namen8034 Rehuma7208, gebar3205 auch, nämlich den Theba, Gaham1514, Thahas8477 und Maacha4601.

Chapter 22

1 AND it came to pass after these things that God tested Abraham and said to him, Abraham. And he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of the Amorites; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains of which I will tell you.

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning and saddled his ass and took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son, and cut wood for the burnt offering and rose up and went to the place of which God had told him.

4 And on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off.

5 And he said to his young men, You stay here with the ass, and I and the boy will go yonder to worship and return to you.

6 And Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac his son, and he took the fire in a container and a knife in his hand, and they went both of them together.

7 And Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, My father. And he answered. Here I am, my son. And Isaac said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, God will provide himself the lamb for a burnt offering, my son. So they went both of them together.

9 And they came to the place of which God had told him; and Abraham built an altar there and laid the wood in order and bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10 Then Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said. Abraham! Abraham! And he said, Here am I.

12 And he said to him, Do not lay your hand on the boy, neither shall you harm him; for now I know that you are a man who reveres God, seeing that you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.

13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold a ram caught in a thicket by his horns; and Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

14 And Abraham called the name of that place Mariah-nekhzey, that is, the LORD will provide, as it is said to this day on this mountain, The LORD shall provide.

15 And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time

16 And said, I have sworn by myself, says the LORD, for because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only son, from me,

17 I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is on the sea shore; and your descendants shall inherit the lands of their enemies;

18 And by your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed my voice.

19 So Abraham returned to his young men and they rose up and went together to Beer-sheba, and Abraham dwelt in Beer-sheba.

20 And it came to pass after these things that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold, Milcah has also borne children to your brother Nahor:

21 Uz his first-born, Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,

22 And Khasar, Hazo, Pilrash, Jarlaph, and Bethuel.

23 And Bethuel begot Rebekah; these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

24 And his concubine, whose name was Romah, also bore Tebah, Gaham, Thahash, and Maachah.
